HotAir’s Tina Korbe moves on

I was actually sad to see this. It appears that HotAir’s Tina Korbe is moving on to greener pastures.

You can read Ed’s posting here and Tina’s final posting here.

Just a personal note of observation; I did not always agree with her and I even once gently criticized her. But, I always respected her opinions —– even if I did not agree with them all. I also noticed another thing too; the commenters over at HotAir.com could be downright brutal with Tina. I believe this was fueled by resentment of a woman blogging at HotAir or something. I never made my criticisms of Tina personal. I simply stated that I disagreed with her. Some of the comments on Tina’s postings were personal, brutal, sexist and nasty. So, I can see why Tina left.

Either way, I wish Tina the best. She is a very smart woman, that I am sure will do well in whatever she does. Tina is also a very, very, beautiful woman; and the man she is going to marry is going to be one lucky guy. I wish him and Tina the very best. 🙂

  1. Wasn’t there something a bit creepy about her hiring in the first place?  I.e., her most prominent qualification was her looks, not her long record of incisive commentary.

I don’t see how she could be called intelligent–she seemed to strain to use cliche’s story lines out of the conservative playbook (e.g., “new rule shows government over-reach”).  Problem was her opinions just seem to come from a very narrow place–e.g., government efforts to reduce teen smoking is overreach?;  “I like Rick Perry cause he’s so confident and handsome”

    1. I don’t know how “creepy” I would call it. She was your typical so-called “Conservative Feminist.”

I really do not consider Feminism a Conservative trait really, but rather a progressive liberal one. Needless to say, I didn’t do well with her. I guess my trackbacks are now blocked there; because of what I said about her, I guess.

Anyhow, she is from Missouri and raised in a Catholic household. So, her worldview is typical of someone of that ilk.

I don’t tend to judge anyone’s Conservative credentials, as I am a born-again former centrist Democrat turned right-libertarian and I’m sure someone would find fault with my views too. So, I usually don’t go there, if I can help it.

As for her looks, I think it sexist to insinuate that she was a no-brained blonde. She was not dumb, she just had a narrow view of things. I am similar, I’m just a Baptist. 😉
