Open Message to John McAfee

About this little thing here:

Regardless, he does care too much for money, he said.

“It’s the worst curse in the world,” he said. “Believe me. There is no worse curse. Because money removes your freedom.

“It gives you the illusion of freedom because you can do anything you want. But everything you do is one more bar in your prison. You buy a big house somewhere. Now you have a staff and taxes and some upkeep — it owns you. It’s going to reach into your life and take part of your time and part of your energy — forever.

“And you add to that with another house and another and you have a boat and then you have all of these cars — the more you have, the more you are owned until finally you have no freedom of movement whatsoever and you end up like Bill Gates.

“His life is managed moment to moment by his money. It’s a horrible situation. Now, it’s a hard thing to give up, even though you know it’s like drugs, you know? You’re addicted to heroin, you know that it’s killing you but you can’t stop. Same thing with money. Only far worse. Far worse. So, I think it’s a curse. I think everyone who’s been there will agree.”

Mr. John McAfee, if you feel that the curse of money is a bit too much to bear; you can feel free to write me a nice check. Say, for about 10 million or more, maybe? I will see to it, that it is put to good use. Like maybe taking care of my developmentally disabled aunt, who will eventually end up going to the state, when my mother is too old to take care of her. I would see to it, that she was taken care of, in a nice private care facility somewhere. Then, I would invest some of that money into a business, of some sort. Plus, I would take care of my parents as well.

I know, it is a pipe dream; but I thought I would toss it out there. One man’s curse, is another man’s means of living. Some people cannot deal with that sort of wealth; I could learn to adjust to it just fine, thank you very much. I would buy myself this house here and live the dream life that I have always wanted to live; in the woods.

Ah well, it’s nice dream, is it not? 😀
