Rick Santorum is in the hospital

I admit it, I was never a big fan of the guy; mainly, because of his desire to “Christianize” America. But, I do not wish the man any ill health or anything.

So, I was sort of dismayed to hear about this here:

One-time GOP presidential contender and former Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.) is cancelling a trip to Iowa after being hospitalized for an illness.

“While traveling in South Carolina on Saturday, Rick Santorum became ill and was admitted to the hospital for a gastrointestinal illness and dehydration,” said Virginia Davis, spokesperson for Patriot Voices, Santorum’s political action committee, in a statement.

“He is feeling better today but remains in the hospital and is unable to travel to Iowa on Monday, April 15 for previously scheduled events.  He is expected to resume a full schedule later this week and looks forward to returning to Iowa soon,” she added.

If I were betting man, I would be willing to bet a shining one dollar bill that it is diverticulitis. Let me tell you, as someone who’s “been there and did that,” more than once; that stuff hurts and I mean bad. :( For those who do not know; a bad case of diverticulitis, will take the strongest, fire breathing, steel bending, manliest man and turn him into a sobbing baby in the fetal position with little or no effort at all.

The only thing that helps, is to do nothing for five to seven days, but drink clear liquid. No soda, no juice,  no food. Nothing — but water. It lets that digestive system heal up.  You can after that, starting really slow; begin drinking fizzy stuff, and if you keep that down, progress very, very slowly; and eventually, you will heal.

My best to him and I hope he heals up, feels better and gets his sorry butt beat in the election again! 😀 😉 😛 :)

Short Bio: I started blogging about politics in 2006, as a populist, skeptical left of center type, with a blog called simply, "The Populist." In 2007, that blog was hacked by some nasty, evil neoconservatives who sought to silence me. During the 2008 election cycle, around the middle of 2007, I began to see that I really did not fit within those circles and after my blog was hacked; I created a blog called "Political Byline" and I kept writing; first as a Centrist and then as a Paleoconservative. For my long bio, see the "About Me" section on this blog.
