UPDATED: Fred Phelps near death and kicked out of own Church – Second estranged son confirms news, Church mum on Phelps status

A very interesting headline for a Sunday.

I’ve learned that my father, Fred Phelps, Sr., pastor of the “God Hates Fags” Westboro Baptist Church, was ex-communicated from the “church” back in August of 2013. He is now on the edge of death at Midland Hospice house in Topeka, Kansas.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. Terribly ironic that his devotion to his god ends this way. Destroyed by the monster he made.

I feel sad for all the hurt he’s caused so many. I feel sad for those who will lose the grandfather and father they loved. And I’m bitterly angry that my family is blocking the family members who left from seeing him, and saying their good-byes.

A terrible end to a man, who thrived on hate.

Update #1: The Topeka Capital Journal gets a confirmation as to Phelps status, but Church declines to acknowledge Phelps status in Church. But, second estranged son conforms reports.

UPDATE #2: …and of course, the “tolerant” liberal left spews their hate. Heck of way to represent your cause guys… 🙄

Update #3: I just want to make something absolutely clear here: I am fully aware of how Phelps picketed the funerals of American Military staff. I thought it then, and still do think that it was totally despicable. Furthermore, I want it to be publicly known that I DO NOT support Mr. Phelps Theology. He and his Church are Calvinist and teach absolute predestination. Not to mention that fact that he is a total hatemonger. Basically, Phelps taught that God hated sin AND the sinner. Which is totally wrong, according to the Word of God. It is true that Calvinists believe that Christ only died for the elect of God. We as non-calvinists believe in a “General Election” and that God gave everyone a free will. What that means in layman’s terms; is that we believe that CHRIST DIED FOR ALL and all are free to accept or reject the love gift of Salvation.

Just wanted to clear that up… 🙂
