This is good news

Obviously. I am not a fan of this guy….

But, this is good news for all bloggers everywhere.

I am hearing that the guy will appeal; but it is going to cost him, big time.

The reason this is a good thing, is that one of the biggest fears of being a blogger, is being sued for what you write. It has a chilling effect on freedom of speech. Thankfully, the right people won this case and that’s a good thing.

Google Adsense suspends Pamela Geller

Here is something I know a little about; Pam Geller got suspended from Google Adsense:

Google has suspended me yet again from google ads on some bogus policy violation. I have spent the whole of the afternoon cleaning code.As much as I despise Google, I need the revenue to keep Atlas running. I may work for free, but bandwidth, webmasters et al all cost money. Real money.

via Google totally sux | Pamela Geller, Atlas Shrugs.

If you can spare a little, head on over and help her out. She is one of the many Anti-Jihad bloggers who are fighting the fight against radical Islam. She is also, like myself; a supporter of Israel’s right to defend itself.

Some good tips for bloggers.

Jacqui Murray has a good posting up called 27+ Tips I Wish I’d Known About Blogging. It’s a very good list. Here’s a few that I would add myself:

1. Never pick fights or start blogger wars. It’s just not worth it.

2. You won’t get rich off blogging, especially if you blog about politics. You *might* get rich; if you are blogging about something politically neutral, like being a mommy or something like that.

3. Don’t blog about politics unless you have really think skin, because politics and the people around it or in it, can be nasty.

4. Be patient.

5. Be ready to get told that you suck or are stupid for writing about what you like.

6. Advertising ain’t cheap. Good advertising is even *less* cheap.

7. Tip Jars are awesome. Don’t be too proud to use one.

8. Be original. Have your opinion, don’t just repeat whatever everyone else is saying; but have a damned good defense of your beliefs.

9. Also be ready to become a pariah, if you happen to disagree with people. Folks, the Jack Daniels whiskey strength truth is that bloggers, especially political ones; can be just downright cruel. Be ready to have your personal life, and this includes pictures of yourself blasted around the net — should you do or say something that some idiot blogger decides that he or she (or both) simply does not like. Been there and did that; and yes, it does suck. 😡

Other than that; there’s not much else. I do not blog with the same frequency as I did when I started. I simply burned out. I quit for a while, but I did come back; but with a bit more of a relaxed style. I let the bigger bloggers handle the big stuff. I will post something, if the notion hits me; but I never force a posting anymore. To me, it is simply not worth it anymore.

I’m done with Bruce Gerencser

I tried being civil to Bruce Gerencser and now that seems to have been a tragic mistake.

I happened to stop in over at Bruce’s blog and added a comment to a posting over there.

What followed was rather shocking; considering how I approached Bruce and his departure from the Faith. I even defended him from an attack by other Fundamentalists. Not once did I ever, never, attack him personally for leaving the faith, ever! I showed more grace to that man, than anyone else ever would, especially among the Fundamentalist Christian circles.

Well, it appears that what I showed to that man meant absolutely nothing at all. As he sat there and allowed his commenters to attack me; and never lifted a finger to stop it at all.

I guess the apostle Paul was not joking when he wrote this:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. — (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV)

The Lord’s grace is unlimited; mine is not. So, seeing that Mr. Gerencser is not interested in being a man; and stopping an attack on his blog, I have decided to not grace that site with my presence any longer. I feel bad that he was used and abused in the IFB circles; and that he used that as an excuse to turn his back on the Lord. But, I do not have to be treated like that; not at all.

Perhaps my taking a non-judgemental stance towards him was a mistake; not one I will never make again — not in this lifetime. To be quite honest, I do not believe that the man was even truly saved in the first place. Bruce might have said a prayer; but there was no true heart conversion. If there was, he would still be among the believers. Truth is, he said a prayer, and was trained and conditioned in the ways of the Church. However, when the heat was turned up, he grew frustrated and looked for an excuse to leave; and the books he read gave him his excuse. This happens quite a bit in Christianity, not only in IFB circles, but in Christianity in general. People that do this are not grounded in their Faith at all.

Just for the record, I am not angry at Bruce or his so-called blog friends. I am more disappointed than anything else. I really hope that one day, that he wakes up and realizes what he just did here to me. However, I doubt that will happen. Bruce seems quite set in his new way.

I will continue to pray for him; Bruce says it won’t do any good. However, I have faith in God. (unlike him…)

Update: I went back and looked; and sure enough, Bruce basically has revealed his true colors towards believers. I thought he was an honorable man; I was wrong.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. – (Revelation 20:11-15 KJV)

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV)

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. – (1 Corinthians 12:3 KJV)

Can’t we all just get along?

I mean, I can see we Paleocons arguing with neocons; but this?

Via Red Philips over at Conservative Heritage Times:

Apparently they’re has been a longstanding rift between postmodern conservatives (PoMoCons or PoMos) and Front Porch Republic types (Porchers). Who knew? The occasion for the increased discussion of this rift is the fact the Peter Lawler is moving his Postmodern Conservative blog from First Things to NRO.

See Rod Dreher here.

Caleb Stegall has a lot of links here.

Peter Lawler here.

This is at FPR.

I think that all of us in what you might call the alternative conservative (meaning outside mainstream conservatism) community have some things in common and mutual enemies, the left and stale mainstream conservatism, but I think the description of the Porchers that is being tossed around describes something much more radical than the reality. The Porchers, at least as represented by FPR, are, as far as I can tell, a bunch of PC phobes. How can you talk about localism and community and “place” without talking about immigration? Doesn’t an influx of non-natives have a pretty big impact on place?

Like I said over at Red’s place in a comment that ended up in the moderation queue; because I put in the wrong email address… 🙄 :

Good-gott-a-mighty, Can’t we all just get along? I mean, we as Conservatives are supposed to be fighting against the neo-liberal, marxist, statism of the Democratic Party. My simple question is this; why fight over who’s legit and who is not? That is silly in my book. I know that neoconservatism is an issue; especially with me. But, alt-right folk fighting over silly stuff? Come on. 🙄

Whatever happened to just agreeing to disagree on trivial matters and working together to fight back against those, who want to destroy the traditional, Christian, American values in this Country?  Conservatives, of all stripes, camps and cliques need to look at the bigger picture and realize — we have a Country to save and bickering like this, is not going to do that at all.

Just my opinion.

This is why I use the block and report feature on twitter

Just offering a bit of unsolicited comment on two blog postings I just read.

Go read here and here.  I won’t quote any of it; it’s just too much.

Anyhow, today I found myself in a bit of a twitter battle with some Arabs on twitter, the ones who use the #OpIsrael hashtag on twitter. Real winners these people are; and I thought I would toy with them a bit. I called them dogs and watched as they and their sock puppets went into attack mode. When the crap started rolling in, I starting blocking and reporting.

https://twitter.com/Americanist313/status/460074563598966785

Yeah, I know, I threw kerosene on a bonfire, so what?  😉 😛 😀

Anyhow, it makes for such a peaceful twitter feed and for a very quiet cellphone. The constant whistling and beeping on ones cellphone, when you’re getting mentions can be a bit unnerving. Yeah, I know, I can disable push up notifications; but that would cause me to miss something important.

On a more serious note: It’s not that I actually hate Muslims or Arabs. However, I happened to be one of the millions of Americas, who watched in horror as those planes slammed into the trade center buildings and the pentagon; and I shook with fear, when the media (CNN in my case) reported that there was plane headed to the White House in 2001. Because of this, I get a bit pissed off, when I see Arab idiots, like these idiots, that I was toying with, blaming Israel for 9/11 or even worse; Alex Jones blaming the United States Government for the 9/11 attacks. Let’s be real about this here: It was Muslims who did 9/11. Radical? Bullcrap. They were muslims that took their koran literally and acted on it. Period, end of damned story. Furthermore, I take offense to muslims and liberals who try to twist the blame back on white people, republicans, conservatives and basically America.

I’m not big on Wilsonian foreign policy; but, I am not a fool. I know who did 9/11; and I don’t trust them; and I believe that terrorism is a threat. This little adventure on twitter proved that. This is why I use block and report; because the more we get these morons off twitter; the better.

That is all.

An awesome story for one young boy’s quest for freedom

Jack Fowler over at NRO’s blog, “The Corner” shares the following:

On Babalublog, the great writer Carlos Eire celebrates his “second” birthday — the day he and his brother escaped from the oppression of Castro’s Cuba.

I highly recommend that you follow the link above. It is some awesome reading.

Bartcop RIP

I’m not supposed to do this; but, screw it. This is MY blog and I will do what I damned well please. 😡 If you got a problem with it, that is just too damned bad.

A pioneer in the liberal blogging and political snark world has died. BartCop is who he was. Crooks and Liars has the story.

He leaves behind a wife and a mortgage. Click here to go help out.

This chorus is swirling in my head at the moment:

And when I’m gone, just carry on, don’t mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I’m looking down on you smiling
And I didn’t feel a thing, So baby don’t feel no pain
Just smile back

The Video:

As most who read here know; I was not always a Buchananite Conservative. I was, for what it is truly worth; a very skeptical left-of-center type. A Populist, of the historic sort. In 2007, I basically decided that voting Democratic Party was not for me any longer. Because of this, I do mourn, when a blogger dies. A voice in this great conversation is silenced. Maybe this video here, will explain what I mean:

I just wish politics was a bit more, like it is depicted in the video above, towards the end. 🙁

May he rest in peace. 🙁
