Family News: Dad is in the hospital

I just thought I would tell my readers that read here all the time. My Father is in the hospital with his hip. For a while now, my Father has had problems with his hip and his leg. The pain, up till last night; has been bad but manageable. Well, last night, Dad’s pain took a turn for the worse.

Dad had been up at a family camping and fishing trip with my uncle and cousins. For the all of that trip, my Dad was in horrible pain; and last night my Father took all he could take and told me to take him to the hospital. I ended up staying at the hospital all night long. Needless to say, I will quite rough. I got some sleep here for a few hours thankfully, but I will be tired by this evening, I can tell you that.

What I can tell you is this; so far, the Doctor’s have found no blockages in his legs at all. So, they are running a battery of more tests to see if it is a pinched nerve or what. I will tell you this; seeing my poor 67-year-old Father literally crying in pain and agony, rips my heart out. šŸ˜„ Mainly, because there is nothing that I can really do about the pain or even make it stop.

I know I was telling about my plans to go back to driving truck and how my little health issues delayed my getting back in the truck. Well, those are solved, for now at least. But, due to my Father’s issues, my plans on getting back into the truck are on hold for the time being. Until my Dad is pain-free and can get around like he could before; I will not be getting back into the truck. My motto is this: Family First, Career Second.

I will keep you posted on my Dad, I promise you all that. But now, I got to get to the hospital to see my Dad here shortly.

Prayers for my Dad, my Mom and for me.

Thanks,

-Patrick

Happy Resurrection Day 2013!

the-empty-tomb

As someone who detests the commercialization of this Holiday, I refuse to call it Easter. It is Resurrection Day! Death, Hell and the Grave are defeated and Jesus has risen again!

This is the real reason for the Holiday:

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words, And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. (Luke 24:1-53 KJV)

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. (Mark 16:1-7 KJV)

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:8-20 KJV)

But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (Mark 16:7-20 KJV)

This is the reason for the Holiday; not easter bunnies, not candy, none of that! It is celebration of the full, and literal bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ! Something, that as a Christian of 30 years, I celebrate everyday of my life.

Out and about today

I am going to be out with my Dad today. I will always have this blog around; I will not always have my Father. So, I will be out with him for most of the morning. I will have the comments on moderate until I return. This is to keep the site safe from drive-by idiots who like to troll.

I will be taking the iPod touch with me, so I can keep track of today’s events. Hopefully, nothing exciting happens, while I am away.

I shall return later today.

Update: I am back, comments are back open.

Mob of black teens overrun a Detroit gas station and rob it

Please note: This report is not about racial hatred or bigotry; this is about the realities of living in Detroit and the out of control black hoodlums that control that city and the incompetent and racially biased Police that supposedly protect that god-forsaken city.

—-

This is a personal story for me, I live in the southern suburbs of Detroit. I grew up on the southwest side of Detroit, Michigan. I remember what southwest Detroit was like when I was a kid in the 1980’s. I also know what southwest Detroit is like now; and believe me, it is not any better. I saw this story over on Joseph Farah’s WorldNetDaily.com, and I thought, “You have got to be kidding me!” But, not they were not, I checked and sure enough this is a ongoing problem. I know right where this station is, believe it or not and yes, that is a very rough part of Detroit and personally would not want to live or work over there at night.

Here is the news video report from WND.com:

Story Quote:

Even the old-timers in Detroit never have seen anything like this: A mob of 40 black people moved into a convenience store and will not leave.

They say they now own it. They eat. Smoke. Cuss.Threaten. Spit. Rob. Sell drugs. All on video.

Police, ministers, neighbors, the store owner and just about everyone else seems powerless to stop them.

ā€œItā€™s a Bad Crew gas station,ā€ said one of the mob to the local Fox affiliate. ā€œIf you donā€™t know what that is, I canā€™t even tell you.ā€

The owner calls police, but nothing happens. The police ā€œcome here and then they leave. Two minutes later they (the mob) are back.ā€

Earlier this month, members of the Perfecting Church, one of Detroitā€™s largest black congregations, counseled the members of the mob to stop their evil ways

Absolutely disgusting. šŸ˜”

Here is a link to an earlier report on the same gas station with Church people pleading with black thugs to pweeeeze stop robbing this story. šŸ™„ Via Fox 2 Detroit:

Fox 2 News Headlines

Quote:

DETROIT (WJBK) –
A Detroit man says his business is being held hostage by a group of teenagers who continually loiter inside and out of his gas station.

“There’s a lot of good people around here,” said the station owner, who wished to remain anonymous. But now, those good people aren’t coming as often to the Marathon station along W. 7 Mile Road on the city’s west side.

“This is a Bad Crew gas station,” said one teen loitering out front on Tuesday. When asked what that meant, he said, “If you don’t know, I can’t even tell you.”

Surveillance video obtained by FOX 2 shows as many as a dozen teens hanging out inside the store, smoking cigarettes, sitting on countertops and even spitting into sinks.

The owner says as many as 40 teens can be hanging out in front of the station at any time. “Destroying my store. Destroying my business,” said the owner.

He says his clerks are too frightened to take action against the teens and he’s worried that the loitering could lead to violence.

Detroit police have been called numerous times to the store, but the owner says right after officers disperse the crowd and leave the scene, the teens returns to their normal posts.

Leslie Cunningham, who lives nearby the station, says members from Marvin Winans’ Perfecting Church have recently been to the station to talk to the young people. “It’s out of hand,” said Cunningham. “We try to raise young people around here that they would be concerned and care about their area and this is what we have to contend with.”

The owner, and father of four, says he would walk away from his business if he didn’t owe so much on it.

Okay first of all; the only language that this young black thugs understand is the language of an end of a gun. If that station hired some ARMED guards, with say, a few AR-15’s modded for automatic fire, I tend to believe that these thugs would find somewhere else to hang out and rob. The only mentality that these black thugs understand is “survival of the fittest.” Because of this problem; this business owner is going to have to make some serious adjustments.

Again, this is not about racial bigotry or hatred. It is about reality. The reality is this: the reason why this is not being dealt with is because, when you have a black police force, black youth, who are committing the crimes are not going to be dealt with at all. Because in ghetto culture, “brother don’t cut another brother!” If you know what I mean. This credo dates back to the days of slavery, which when one slave would do something wrong, and another slave saw it; he had two choices, rat his fellow black brother out or keep his mouth closed. Most chose the latter. This is why you have black thugs running wild in the streets of Detroit. Because quite frankly, the Detroit cops do not care. As long as they are not murdering anybody; the police attitude is let them go.

Of course, the standard disclaimers and excuses will be rolled out by the City of Detroit. Ones like, “We do not have enough police.” “We don’t have enough money to have police around at all times.” But we who have lived in the city of Detroit. We know. That the fact is that minorities; black and latino, can do pretty any darned thing that they want to, as long as no one gets killed and the city police will not do anything about it. Now, if you are a white man, and did something like this — oh yes, your butt would be in jail in no time flat! But if you are black or latino, it is just a normal part of living in the city.

Just in case someone happens to read this, from say the city of Detroit or one of residents. I have one thing to say to you

PROVE ME WRONG!

Also too, as I was finishing this story. The irony hit me.. We have police who are so damned eager for a police state. Except, when it comes to stuff like this here. Blacks out of control? No problem! But, you let a white man get a little out of hand and it is the police state army AKA as the swat team — to the rescue!

I’m Back!

Please note: When reading this, try to imagine someone speaking in a slight southern accent; like I do. It will help to make it sound funnier.Ā

As I told you all, I went out with my Dad today. I went with him to his retirees meeting at the UAW Local that he is a member of. It is in Southwest Detroit, where I grew up; a bit closer to downtown Detroit, than where I lived. However, because I want to continue to live in this house, I will not get into the specifics of what happened down there.

What I can tell you is this:

  • It rained. As in, it rained hard; by the time we got to the union hall, I thought we were going to have to ditch the truck and grab a canoe! My Dad was nice enough to drop me and Dad’s friend Irvin off at the door; and you should have seen me come out of that truck! I come out of that truck, like a lost cat that realized that he had wandered into the dog section of the animal pound —- around lunchtime. Yes, it was like that. Ever watch Scooby Doo? You know, when he stumbles upon a ghost and get the wits scared out of him? Yeah, like that. It came complete sound effects too, with “ooh’s eek’s and aah’s.” Oh, it was a wonderful time. I also, when I made it inside, kindly informed the people in the office that whomever was doing the rain dance, really needed to stop. Because the rain was here, in buckets!

So, finally the meeting was over. My Dad stopped at Vernor Coney Island and picked up some Coney Dogs for lunch for Him and Me and rest of the family here. So, I grabbed me a Diet Pepsi out of the fridge, came back down here to what my Mother calls myĀ dungeon,Ā and proceeded to devour me a couple of coney dogs and catch up on what was happening in the political world, while I was out cavortingĀ with the organized labor movement. (Please Note: When I say cavorting, I don’t mean screwing. Hell, they were a bunch of grey-headed old people. Mostly men, and I do not swing that way, sorry. šŸ˜‰ I mean hanging around them. It is an attempt at humor. Please, laugh. šŸ˜€ )

So, anyhow; I ate my dogs and fiddled around, and putted around and read a little here and little there. The next thing I know, an hour had passed and I realized that I was getting rather tired. So, I figured I would grab me a little nap; and nap I did….:

For Six Long Freaking Hours!Ā

I woke up, and rolled over at looked at the iPod touch and said aloud, “7 o’clock?!?!” I got up, and stumbled around; and went up stairs. Mom was fixing TV dinners. My Father, ever the funny man; greeted me with the normal greeting: “Well, Hello there, Sleeping Beauty!” I grinned, mumbled a little and went to the bathroom. Six hours of sleeping adds up to lot of urine storage. (Yes, I know, yuck. But, hey, it’s all true.)

So, there you have it. What I have done for most of the day. I hope you have enjoyed this rather funny story, as much as I have writing it. It is all true; my parents will verify it. I like going out with my Dad and his friend Irvin, I could write a book, about those two, when they get together. As well, as the funny stuff that goes on, when my Dad and his fishing friends, get together. Someday, I might write about that stuff. now, I live here, and I do not really want to get sued.

Till next time!
