Rod Dreher says something that I have been thinking for a long while

No bigger truth has been spoken on a blog:

When someone like Ted Cruz, son of a fundamentalist Christian pastor, has the unspeakable arrogance to go into this group of Orthodox, Catholic, and Coptic Christians who are facing the martyrdom of their entire communities and expect them to recite the gospel of American neoconservatism — that is, not simply to denounce anti-Semitism, which the people in that audience were willing to do, but to affirm the goodness of the state of Israel,  even if doing so would put their own lives in danger once they return home – he forces the rest of us Christians to make a choice. Which is more important to them: the fate of Israel, or the fate of the Church?

Again, I support the right of the state of Israel to exist, and the right of the ancient Christian churches of the Middle East to exist. But if circumstances force us to make a choice, Christians must ordinarily choose the Church, just as I would expect Jewish Americans in most circumstances to choose Israel, and would not for a second hold that against them. If you will not be for your own people, what kind of person are you?

That choice implies a second choice: which is more important to conservative American Christians, their Christianity, or their conservatism?

If that is the choice, I know which side I am on. And if that makes me anathema to American movement conservatism, I’ll wear that badge with honor.

The Bible says clearly:

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15 KJV)

We as Christians need to figure out, do we wish to make alliances with those who deny Christ or with those who chose to serve Christ? I think the choice is obvious here.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32-33 KJV)

Furthermore, Paul gave instruction to the early Church on this subject:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV)

So, this whole idiotic idea of Christian Zionism is in total violation of the principles of the Word of God. Why would we, as followers of Christ; make alliances with those who reject the Gospel of Christ and were the ones basically responsible for the rigged trial and execution of our Lord? It simply does not make sense at all. Then again, neither does the neoconservative line of fighting for Israel to the death, at the cost of our own Country and treasure of our youth either.

Another really good reason why I simply do not agree with Ron Paul

I might agree with Ron Paul on economics. I might agree with Ron Paul on wars and Wilsonian foreign policy. This below negates all of that, because what you see below is not a legitimate criticism of those things, what this is below is simply blind hatred of Jews and Israel in general.

I might not approve of Zionism, as it is, in this Christian separatists opinion, an unholy alliance between Christians and Jews; but I will never support this bile, which is below at the link.

Go read: The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity : ‘We Are With You…Here Are The Missiles’.

The truth is that Israel is defending itself from a Islamic terrorist organization, whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel. An organization who started this latest conflict, by kidnapping three Israeli kids, killing them and then burning their bodies. Then, when Israel enacted a blockade of Gaza; they began aimlessly firing rockets into Israel. Finally, Israel decided enough was enough, and invaded that strip of land to rid Gaza of these terrorists. If the United States of America wants to help Israel defend itself from Muslim terrorists, by sending them missiles, then by-golly let them do it. Frankly, America’s prosperity in the past has come from being a friend of Israel.

Even I as a paleoconservative, think that what Israel is doing, is proper, right and moral. Furthermore, I question the motives, patriotism, Christianity and sanity of those who disagree with belief. I may have a beef with some of the political players here in America, who happen to be Jewish. But, my support of Israel and what it is doing in Gaza is without measure and frankly; I hope they bomb the strip of land to a pile of dirt and rubble.

Do not misunderstand me here; I do not wish to see American boots on the ground in the Gaza strip, nor in Israel. They do not need our help. But, they do need our support to fight the battle and I say let them have it.

Enough is enough! It is time that we Conservative Christians begin to call out those, like The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity; which is nothing more than a clearing house for anti-Jewish and Anti-Israel bile. If this think-tank was a legit group that put out papers or articles against Wilsonian foreign policy, it would not be a problem. However, this think-tank is nothing more than an Jew-bashing group of thugs, whose purpose is to issue blood libels against Israel and the Jews. They have proven that time and again with postings like the one above.

Bottom Line: It’s time to get real folks, and call these haters out for what they truly are; and expose them for what they are. That is not a neoconservative thing; that is an American thing, and it is about time we did it.

A very good observation

This, I agree with….

DaTechGuy observes:

How is it possible if Israel is the 2nd coming of the Nazi that arab & Muslim populations grow where they rule while in places like Iraq where devout Muslims are taking control the Christian population flees for its life (following the jews who fled over half a century ago).

If you can come up with a good answer I’d be delighted to hear it.

My thoughts exactly. Which is why I take the position on Gaza and Hamas as I do. The funny thing is that the liberal media will try and say that Israel and Gaza; and Iraq are two separate issues. I call bullcrap on that one — it is the same issue; it is Islam. Islam is an intolerant religion that demands 100% loyalty and believes that killing to get that loyalty is justified, and if read the Koran, you will see that, according to the koran, it is justified.

Which further reinforces my ever growing belief that Islam is not a religion of peace; but a cult of death; and of which the practice of it should outlawed in the United States of America and those practice it should be given two choices; renounce it or be deported to your homeland and if you live here, you should be told, this religion is a threat to the national security and its practice is forbidden. If they refuse to renounce it, they should be put into camps and herded, like the dogs they are.

You say, what I have written is harsh? You say what I have written is racist? You say what I have written is un-American? Tell that to the people in Israel who are having to run for the lives to bomb shelters in Israel. Tell that to the Christians in Iraq who are having their possessions; houses, cars….everything taken from them by Muslims. Tell them how intolerant that my remarks are; and you what? They will agree….with me!

I pray that people’s eyes will be open to what these Arab Bastards are truly about that Christians will get off the lovey-dovey crap and take up arms to fight these people, once and for all.

On Israel, Hamas and Gaza

I saw this opinion piece this morning and I couldn’t agree more.

Israel has had endure terrorist acts from these towel-headed idiots for long enough.

Hamas fires rockets aimlessly that land anywhere killing civilians; Israel does precision strikes that purposely avoid civilians in the Gaza Strip. Does anyone else see the unfairness here? I do.

What should happen is this: Israel SHOULD do a World War 2 style carpet bombing of the Gaza strip till the last one of those Arab dogs breathes his or her last breath. Enough is enough!

These bastard descendents of Ishmael want nothing but continual war. So, Israel should give them the war that they want and eliminate them from the map. It would not take much; and it could very well easily be done.

Children? Civilians? Collateral Damage.

As long as an Arab lives in Gaza, there will be no peace. KILL THEM ALL and GET RID OF THE THREAT!

and that my friends….is all.

Kudos to Seth Mandel for writing this here

For all of my issues with Zionism, Wilsonian Foreign Policy, and Neoconservatives; it is truly refreshing to see someone in that crowd speak some sanity about what is currently happening in Israel right at the moment.

From Commentary Magazine (!):

The killing of an Arab teen, Muhammad Abu Khdeir, in Jerusalem last week has added a harrowing dimension to the tragic series of events in Israel. Police have not concluded their investigation, but they initially leaned toward the explanation that the killing was done by Israelis in retaliation for the kidnapping and murder of three Jewish teens, whose bodies were discovered last week. The Israeli police have now made arrests that would seem to bolster that theory, with the Times of Israel reporting that “the investigation has led them to believe that the act was most likely carried out by Jewish extremists in revenge for the killing of three Israeli teenagers earlier in June.” If confirmed, it’s sickening; and those who worry about how this will affect Israel’s reputation in the international community are getting it exactly backwards: there is a more pressing concern than reputation at a time like this.

And I don’t just mean the killing, to which I’ll return in a moment. The outpouring on social media of anti-Arabincitement has been shocking. The encouraging aspect to this has been the official denunciation of such incitement, both from the government, united in its revulsion of the incitement, and from groups of private citizens speaking out against it. Also encouraging has been the reaction of religious leaders.

[…]

…….The Jews fighting for a state in Palestine became desperate, as the British authorities’ response to terror was appeasement, and as the British sought to close immigration to those fleeing genocide, thus handing out death sentences to Jews by the thousands even as they were being eradicated at their points of origin.

Today the Jews of Israel have a state and the right of return and an army to defend themselves. The grief and anger being felt in Israel is understandable. The incitement with which it has recently manifested is, as Amar said, a self-destructive act–a betrayal, and not a defense, of the Jewish people.

John Podhoretz gets exposed for the intolerant Trotskyite that he truly is

This is great;  a Trotskyite Zionist goes for a debate; and the minute he sees that he is losing the debate — he storms off the stage, takes his marbles and goes home.

I am referring to the greatest Trotskyite, Zionist, Neoconservative of them all — John Podhoretz.

See here, here, here and here.

Money quote:

Bottom line: I’d had a long day and I didn’t see the point in spending more of it getting booed and shushed. So I left. So sue me.

If only we could sue you and your family for all the trillions of dollars — and the 4000+ lives that were  wasted in the Iraq War —- which you and your satanic Father were cheerleaders for, after 9/11. Actually, I would very much like to see criminal charges filed against you and few of your Trotskyite friends as well. However, as we realists know; that will never happened to a protected class as yourself.

You want to know what got wrong with Conservatism? You want to know why the GOP is in the shape that it is in? Look no further than this man here and his idiotic Trotskyite magazine that he runs. They are the true enemies of America; they are the ones who put us in the war that almost broke this Nation and ruined its standing in the world.

It is a pity that there is not true justice in this Nation of ours; otherwise, this man and his friends would be sitting in jail cells.

My feelings on this Iranian deal

As you all know, there is a new agreement between the rest of the world and Iran now.

There is also a good deal of partisan and racial hand wringing on the right. Especially among the neoconservative Jewish right. 🙄 Not to mention Israel’s leadership, who are almost quite literally bouncing off the walls. To be fair about it; so are the Saudis. To get a good feel for just how bad the wall bouncing is; go have a look at the round-up of neoconservative and otherwise bloggers at Memeorandum.

A good place for a non-biased and non-partisan look at the details is found at Business Insider.

Here is my official take on the Iranian deal:

Some are calling this a huge blunder. I am not so sure about how much of a “blunder” it might be. But, rather an interesting move by the Obama Administration. They have actually been able to do something that no other presidential Administration has been able to do. They actually have gotten Iran to agree to a formal written agreement on nukes and nuke enrichment.

The upside to this: The Iranians will be able to pursue nuclear energy and will be able to power their Country; that is provided they stick to the terms of the agreement. Which is great, provided they actually do this. I would like to think that they would do such a thing.

However, I am a realist; and I also happen to know Iran’s track record on telling the truth, since the time that the Shah was deposed.

Here is the downside and yes, there is always one of those:

The downside to this agreement is this; if the Iranians renege on this agreement and the US and other Country tear up this agreement, then we are going to have another problem. Iran will be considered an unstable rogue nation and then, the war drums towards Iran will be begin beating in earnest on both sides of the aisle. As it is now, the neoconservative hawks in the Republican Party want to go war with the Iranians so bad that they can taste it. If Iran welches on the agreement; then both sides are going to have the argument that Iran’s leadership must be toppled and the war must happen.

I am not so sure that such a thing would even happen under Obama’s watch, as he does want to be seen as the President that tried to reach out to the Iranians with a fig leaf. However the next President would have to come in and deal with a situation as such. If the deal is reneged on; the war hawks would have their piece of leverage that they would really need to make the case for war.

To be fair, I have seen skepticism in both parties; and that is a good thing. I think that blindly trusting Iran is a futile mistake. However, I believe that Iran has just been given their own fair shot. If Iranians play their cards right, we might be seeing a new era. However, the skeptic in me thinks that the US and the major Nations have just baited a trap of war for the Iranians and they were actually foolish enough to walk right into it. For the sake of the future of this Nation and the World, I hope like the devil that I am wrong. However, knowing things like I do; I sadly believe that I am not.

Just a FYI @MaxBlumenthal and I are not one in the same

I feel the need to write this, because I fear that I might be lumped in the same group as this man; and quite frankly, I simply do not belong there at all.

To get a clearer picture of what I am referring to; I need you to go to the following places and read up. These links will open in a new window, so go ahead and read — I’ll be here.

Go Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, and Here.

Okay, now that we got that all out the way; and you now know what I am referring to; allow me to clarify my position.

My issues with Zionism and Israel; and all related matter is confined to the following:

  • Religious: I simply happen to believe that Zionism is a form of Jewish supremacy. As it says on this page here on my blog; I detest any and all forms of supremacy. Furthermore, as a Christian, I happen to believe that Christian Zionism is an unholy alliance between Christians and Jews. (See 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV) I also happen to know that a very well know Jewish rabbi has made inflammatory remarks about what the Jews call, “The Goyim.”
  • Political: I have readily identified myself here as a Paleoconservative. (See Patrick J. Buchanan) Because of this, I do have issues with Wilsonian foreign policy. However, I also realize that Palestine is simply not to be trusted.

Now there are some who would say that my positions Religiously and Politically are hateful; which is, quite frankly, a load of bunk. Having said that; I simply will comment this here. I understand that Mr. Blumenthal’s book equates Jews in Israel to Nazi’s. Sorry, but that is just a bit over the top; even for this critic of Israel. I fully support the idea of an Israeli state, as much as I support the idea of a Palestinian state. I believe a two state solution is entirely possible, provided both sides are honest brokers. Which is the entire problem; BOTH SIDES have dirty hands in that entire conflict.

I also realize that some paleoconservatives and yes, many on the uber-liberal left; have an ingrained hatred of the Jews, for whatever reasons. I simply say this about that little situation; they simply do not speak for this writer. I am not a hater of the Jew at all; I simply would like them all to come to a saving knowledge of Christ. I realize that this will not happen to all of them. (See 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 KJV)

I might have many motivations; but a hatred of Israel and of the Jews is not one of them. I distance myself from those people. Because I know what is at their core and that is hate. Something I want nothing to do with. Some might have a problem with this statement; but, it is the truth.
