What Donald Trump and the GOP hath wrought?

This is truly a very sad story.

Via NBC News:

A Pennsylvania family found shot dead in their backyard last week in what police say appears to be a suicide pact, included a mother and daughter who loved bowling and were devout Christian conservatives, people who knew them said.

Morgan Daub, 26, and her parents, James Daub, 62, and Deborah Daub, 59, were found dead on the ground in the backyard of their home in York County, Pennsylvania, on the morning of Jan. 25, after police responded to a request for a welfare check from a neighbor.

The West Manchester Township Police Department has since said that notes left inside the house indicate that the family recently made a “joint decision” to end their lives. Police believe Deborah Daub shot and killed her husband and then was shot and killed by Morgan, who died by suicide. Police said there were no signs of forced entry or struggle and no evidence that anyone else had been present.

An investigation into the deaths has been closed.

A sad story, right? But here is the reason why they did it:

Stabley said the Christian, churchgoing family “was never shy about letting anybody know what their beliefs were” when it came to religion and politics. Morgan and Deborah “very, very huge” supporters of former President Donald Trump, Stabley said.

“They were just so hell-bent on Trump winning, like this could be in the end if he doesn’t,” Stabley said, referring to an instance when he saw them just before the 2020 election. He said he stopped seeing the two after that.

A neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of personal or professional retaliation in their town, said the family had a “preoccupation with religion, especially on the dad’s part.” The family’s front yard was also “littered” with Pro-Trump political signs during the elections, and anti-abortion signs when Roe v. Wade was overturned, the neighbor said.

This is what they did:

The West Manchester Township Police Department has since said that notes left inside the house indicate that the family recently made a “joint decision” to end their lives. Police believe Deborah Daub shot and killed her husband and then was shot and killed by Morgan, who died by suicide. Police said there were no signs of forced entry or struggle and no evidence that anyone else had been present.

It gets worse:

Gabley said he was disturbed to see recent videos appearing to show Morgan on YouTube. In the videos, which the West Manchester Township Police Department has also said appear to show Morgan, the young woman speaks in stream-of-conscious fashion about God, the Antichrist and conspiracies about Trump and the 2020 election. Stabley said he is haunted by Morgan’s laughter in the videos.

“I never, ever, ever saw Morgan in that state,” he said.

Detective Timothy Fink said in a statement to NBC News on Friday that Deborah Daub left a written document, signed Jan. 19, in which “she speaks of a joint decision” by her and Morgan to end their lives. It refers to the “evil that has mounted against Morgan,” but does not go into further detail, Fink said.

Morgan and her father also left notes indicating that the family had planned how to carry out the shootings and made other preparations, including what to do with the family dog and assets.

Those notes were dated Jan. 24, a day before the bodies of the family were found.

Police said that the positioning of the bodies, the two guns found at scene, the shell casings and other evidence “support the account put forward by the written documents left behind by the family,” that “all three family members decided to end their lives on 1/24/2023.”

You see folks, this is what happens, when perfectly normal, Conservative Christian, people get caught up in conspiracy theories.  Things like this above happen.

I do not normally like to get on the blame Donald J. Trump wagon on much of what people like to blame him for; but this, this is just too much. Yes, I blame Donald J. Trump, QAnon, The GOP, Fox News Channel, and all the rest of the idiotic fools, who spouted conspiracy theories about the election of 2020. Had Trump never started that fools errand of claiming the election was stolen, this family might still be alive.

My Prayers are with the family of these poor people.

Update: This is a video from Fox43, it seems there a bit more at play here, just being Trump Supporters: (Via UPI)

Scott Shackford at Reason.com makes a good point

This guy gets it, and for that, he gets credit. I’m glad someone has finally told the truth about the reaction to the mass shooting.

Quote:

Socially, Americans and American media have developed a pattern in responding to these sudden incidences of mass violence. It starts with the initial hunger for any and all information, often absent of much concern about its accuracy. Give us all of it, and we’ll sort it out as we go. But even from the very start, we’re not just looking for information about the incident. We’re looking for who is responsible for the violence. No, not the actual shooters. Who else is responsible? Speculation begins immediately about the shooter’s political affiliation, as though this is any way relevant. Dear’s voter registration has him listed as a female! Does this mean he’s transgendered? Is this the transgendered movement’s fault? No, it turned out to be a data entry error, and even if he did identify as transgendered, the answer would still obviously be no, the transgender movement was not responsible for his actions. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) got into some hot water for speculating about this odd little detail, though really he was trying to point out that it was awfully early to be speculating about Dear’s motives.

The problem, though, is that Dear’s motives may matter to the courts and to the law, but why is this a matter for presidential candidates, politicians, and society at large? Because, for some people, it can’t just be Dear’s fault. The culture war demands that everything bad that happens is due to the actions and attitudes of one’s ideological opponents. Everything bad that happens is due to the failure of society to monolithically embrace one’s view of how the world should be run. And when people operate under such collectivist attitudes (on either the left or the right) about society, obviously the behavior of a person who acts out in violence is (and must be) an indictment of whatever ideology or philosophy that person operates. Dear is an indictment of anti-abortion conservatives. ISIS attacks are an indictment of leftist support for diversity and the entire Islamic faith.

[…]

Since nobody’s ideology can lay claim to all the world’s mentally ill people, because that’s not how serious mental illness works, we end up with absurd comparison stories like this clickbait from William Saletan at Slate, arguing that Christian extremists from the Carolinas have killed more Americans in the United States than Syrian refugees. His goal is ultimately to challenge the argument that the fleeing Syrians are a terror threat to the United States, but his poor logic begs to be thrown back in his face by pointing out how tiny even that number is (less than 100) compared to the total number of Americans murdered in just 2014 (14,249). And even the total number of Americans murdered annually pales in comparison to the number of Americans out there (nearly 320 million). Statistically speaking, if you’re an American, you’re unlikely to ever be murdered at all, be it by mentally ill ISIS death-cultists or Americans suffering some sort of psychotic break from reality.

But no media site ever got readers by telling them, “You’re probably never going to be murdered,” and no politician wins votes that way. If every crisis is an opportunity, then every person with signs of mental illness is a potential crisis, and therefore an opportunity.

Given this regularly occurring cycle of responses to mass violence by the disturbed, is it really any mystery how college campuses turned into one massive emotional freak-out session? Where did they get the idea that invoking vague mental health issues to demand “trigger warnings” and safe spaces and declaring speech that contradicts their opinions or offends them to be a form of “violence”? They learned it from us, of course. They’re just extending it to its natural, absurd conclusion.

Man, is he right. The response for both sides has been, quite frankly, morbid. 😡

Why I am not blogging about the Colorado shooting

I am, of course, referring to this here.

The reason I am not really blogging about it, is because of the stupidity of the left and the stupidity of the right. I mean, the man was obviously mentally off of his rocker. The best the right and left can do, is make idiotic political statements about the tragic event.

The left is hollering “more gun control!” and the right is making just downright asinine statements about the shooting. I refuse to be a part of it. The truth is, some dude, whose elevator didn’t go past the lobby floor, went and shot up a planned parenthood. Now, everyone wants to make it about politics. It’s sickening, cynical and high school at best.

…and I want no part of it. I’m not playing the game, at all. People were killed and I won’t turn a tragic event, like this, into a political debate, at all.

Just letting y’all know.

More Black on White Crime: Toronto, Canada

Jeremy Cook, An 18-year-old white male, had just moved to Toronto to pursue a carpentry career, ended up being gunned down in a parking lot Sunday, by 3 black men — while trying to track down his lost cellphone.

Welcome to Obama’s world.

Here is another horrible black on white crime that is being totally ignored in the main stream media. If the races were reversed; this would be a huge story in the media.

Via Conservative Headlines:

Jeremy Cook, An 18 year old white male, had just moved to Toronto. He left his cell phone in a taxi cab and was using GPS to track it. At 5:15 am the GPS led him to a group of black males. Instead of giving him his cell phone back, they decided it would be more fun to shoot and kill him.

Police say the perps are black males aged 18 to 21.

The story via the Toronto Sun:

Police are searching for three suspects after a teen who recently moved to the city to pursue a carpentry career was gunned down in a parking lot Sunday while trying to track down his lost cellphone.

Officers arrested three men in a cab soon after the deadly shooting of Jeremy Cook, 18, but they were released after it was determined they weren’t involved.

“We had reasonable grounds at the time to arrest these individuals because at the time there was reason to believe they were responsible,” Const. Ken Steeves said Monday.

Cook was originally from Brampton, Ont., but recently moved southwest to London. He had never been in trouble with the law in London and didn’t know his killers, police said.

So far the investigation shows Cook accidentally left his cellphone in a taxi earlier that morning or the previous night. He used a device to track the phone to an address, police said.

Cook and a relative went there and approached a silver Mazda sedan with three men in it at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday.

Notice that the race of the perps in this story is not included with the story? Notice also that the police actually let the people, that were suspected in the murder go? Notice how this story is not all over every news channel here in America and in Canada? That is because the story does not fit the liberal agenda and message, therefore it is ignored.

Another thing too; if this man had been armed, maybe he would have survived this little incident. This is why I believe that anyone, who does not carry a firearm, in this day and age is a open target. I believe that everyone, who is able to do so; should register themselves and take a good gun safety course and own a firearm. This is not the 1950’s anymore, we live in a very dangerous society now, it pays to carry.

Customs and Immigration Officer shoots suspect in Detroit; Suspect had a hammer

Of course, you know, the left is going to play this one for all it is worth. Considering what’s happening elsewhere.

Detroit — The 20-year-old armed robbery suspect who was fatally shot by a federal agent on Monday was “armed with a hammer,” Detroit’s police chief said Tuesday. The shooting, on the city’s west side, angered residents who had to be placated by the city’s police chief. The Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team, a task force that included officers from the Detroit Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Marshals, were serving an armed robbery warrant in the 9500 block of Evergreen at the time of the shooting around 1:13 p.m., Detroit Police Chief James Craig said. The officers were allowed into the home to conduct their search, Craig said. The incident comes at a time of heightened tension between police and black communities in some U.S. cities, spurring a national debate about race and police tactics. In the Detroit incident, the suspect was black, as was the federal agent who shot him.

Source: Federal officer shoots, kills Detroit man one east side

The man was armed with a hammer, he tried to attack a federal officer, and he got shot. Just another day in the big city. But, as you know, because he is black, as was the agent that shot him; because of the stuff happening everywhere now, the left and their media lap-dogs are going to exploit this, in hopes that there is another riot in Detroit.

Because that, is what marxists do. Marxists exploit stuff like this to disrupt the system. You watch and see, summer is coming and Detroit has a white mayor. You watch, another uprising is coming and the marxists will be in the middle of it.

Good Question….

This is why I love the gun-grabbing left; because their hypocrisy stinks to the high heavens. Just like the Republicans and their big-government statist policies.

Anyhow, sellout blogger, Glenn Reynolds, himself quite the statist hypocrite; notes the following:

HYPOCRISY: Hey, why does Piers Morgan have photo with gun-loving, violence-glorifying Snoop Dogg as Twitter profile?

Hypocrite much, Mr. Morgan?

Again, this is why I love being an independent politically, (Who does lean to the right slightly, but I digress.)  and being a bit of a free-thinker; I see the hypocrisy of both sides. This is a perfect example of that very thing.

Honestly, why would NRA expect anything different?

This seems to be a bit silly, but I really think the NRA did not know what was coming:

Via the Weekly Standard:

NRA.gif“The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again.  We attended today’s White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals,” reads the NRA statement.

“We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment.  While claiming that no policy proposals would be “prejudged,” this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners – honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans.  It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems.  We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen.  Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works – and what does not.”

I hate to be the one to say “Well Duh!” but….um…:

The NRA should have known better than to even remotely think that they were going to get anything other than what they got from this Presidential Administration. This is why they need to hire me to do their political consultant work. I can tell them everything that they need to know about guns and Democrats. 😀

Video: Bob Costas explains himself

The only real quibble I have with this, is this: The gun culture that Bob Costas is referring to, is mostly promoted by Gangster Rap. Most of those guns that are in the inner cities are illegally bought and owned. Most legal gun owners are upstanding citizens, and not deranged nut jobs like the guy who shot up that theater or the guy who shot Gabrielle Giffords.

The painful truth is, that both of these guys bought these guns legally, and even I, as strong of a supporter of the second amendment as I am; I will concede that background checks would be a good idea, on the state level, with states sharing information. Now that would be a good idea. As for what kind of background, I believe checking for like serious health illnesses, such as mental illness and whether that person takes medication for some sort of illness is not unreasonable.

Either way, this video is very good. I think Costas defended his position well, I do not agree with it. I do not believe that the “Gun Culture” is necessarily a bad thing. The problem is that it has been exploited, by the gangsta rap culture.

Why is the Wounded Warrior Project against guns?

This does not sound good at all. (H/T to Fred Propheter on facebook)

Although the controversy is just making its way to the mainstream radar, the Wounded Warrior Project has been disassociating itself with firearms and knives for the past couple of years. References on its website have changed from “firearms” to “weapons.” Corporate sponsors such as Savage Arms are now replaced with Acosta Sales and Marketing and UHAUL.

Listening to a recent interview with Wounded Warrior Project’s CEO Steve Nardizzi, well, you would have thought it was ‘ol Slick Willy dodging the question. He started off by saying the WWP supported the Second Amendment and was happy to participate in hunting adventures and shoots as fundraisers—yet it prohibits using the WWP logo at such events.

Nardizzi went on to explain that the Wounded Warrior Project would not co-brand with firearm or knife manufacturers and retailers. He explained, “The return on investment just wasn’t there.” Return on investment? How much investment is WWP putting into the pot? It has no problem taking the firearm industry’s money; it just doesn’t want to be seen in public with us. So, essentially, the Wounded Warrior Project’s stance is that it does not want to be seen kissing us after it is done poking us?

What a great message this sends to our wounded heroes: “You were trusted with assault weapons (real ones, not what politician’s term ‘assault weapons’ when seeking reelection) until you were injured in service to our country.” Then…well, you might decide to hurt yourself so—in defense of the WWP’s reputation, not your future well being—we cannot be seen as partnering with ‘those companies’ in public.”

The author was one of the lucky ones managing to return home unharmed and with a few fond memories such as enjoying a few rounds of skeet while aboard ship. Other returning veterans were not as lucky and need our support.

This was brought out in Leslie A. Coleman’s—public relations director for WWP—response to an e-mail message asking for a clarification to its stance, “Our position regarding firearms and alcohol is in response to the struggles that many injured service members face with substance abuse and suicide and the roles those items often play in those issues.” I wonder if WWP even considered the fact that the extra money could go toward additional support and treatment. Sweeping it under the carpet by playing politics sure as hell isn’t going to prevent a tragedy, but funds and support might!

If WWP does not want to play with the firearms industry, and it is all about the money, well WWP picked which side of the fence it wanted to be on, not me. And let’s go a step further in seeking the truth. It is not about the money. While being interviewed Nardizzi explained that co-branding requires significant internal coordination with lawyers, PR people and others to manage it and finished by stating that we wouldn’t understand it. Really? I certainly do.

Nardizzi was then countered with the suggestion of an offer to cover all WWP internal expenses, then co-brand (use WWP’s logo on guns and knives) as a way to contribute to WWP. Nardizzi refused to give a straight answer. So if it is all about the money and you offer to cover all costs, why wouldn’t WWP jump at the opportunity? Because it is not now, nor has it ever been about the money—it’s about the politics.

During the interview, Nardizzi took the offensive, saying, he “can’t believe donors would withhold donations from wounded vets because we don’t get anything out of it” (use of the logo). Yet, WWP would risk losing donations by playing politics instead of focusing on raising the funds to help our vets.

Go read the rest of that…

I think it is time to raise a stink about this one and let these people know that they are either on the side of liberty or tyranny. Pick a side WWP or get the hell out of business of the Military.
