More sectarian violence in Iraq

This is what happens when you invade a Country based on bad information. This is also what happens when you let the proverbial “Genie out of the bottle.”

BAGHDAD — Insurgents unleashed a fierce string of bombings against Iraq’s Shiites on Thursday, attacking pilgrims marching through the desert and neighborhoods in Baghdad in an attempt to stir sectarian violence amid a political crisis that has brought the government to a halt.

At least 60 people died in the attacks and at least 138 wounded, security officials said, in the second devastating and apparently coordinated attack in Iraq in less than a month.

No group claimed responsibility for the attacks but they appeared similar to ones conducted by Al Qaeda in Iraq, the Sunni insurgent group that has tried to plunge the country back to the brink of civil war by pitting the country’s sectarian groups against each other.— Attacks on Shiites in Iraq Kill More Than 50 – NYTimes.com

I don’t claim to be an expert in this department, but I see us going back there within a year or so.

Is Rick Santorum a “Big Government” Conservative?

My answer? Aren’t they all? 😀

This guy seems to think so: (H/T HotAir.com)

Rick Santorum, like most Republican candidates, fashions himself the one true conservative running in 2012. If the thought of big, intrusive liberal government offends you, he might just be your man. And if you favor a big, intrusive Republican government, he’s unquestionably your candidate.

People are taking a look at Santorum. Important people. People in Iowa. Even New York Times columnist David Brooks recently celebrated his working-class appeal, newfound viability and economic populism, noting that the former Pennsylvania senator’s book “It Takes a Family“ was a ”broadside against Barry Goldwater-style conservatism” — or, in other words, a rejection of that Neanderthal fealty for liberty and free markets that has yet to be put down. Santorum’s book is crammed with an array of ideas for technocratic meddling; even the author acknowledges that some people “will reject” what he has to say “as a kind of ‘Big Government’ conservatism.”

Santorum grumbles about too many conservatives believing in unbridled “personal autonomy” and subscribing to the “idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do … that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom (and) we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues.” — Via Santorum: Conservative Technocrat | TheBlaze.com

Go read all of that, it’s quite interesting.

No, Pat Robertson did not hear from God

I am fixing to break one of my rules that I wrote on my blog’s “about this blog” page.  I wrote the following:

Also too, with this blog, I am going to stick strictly to Politics. I am not going to meander into Religion or Religious arguments like I did on my previous blog; Because for one, it tends to start fights with unbelievers and two, it tends to make me look like a jerk. My point is this, I know what I believe, but I am not interested in fighting about it or debating it. At some point, I might create a Blog solely dedicated to Christianity; but on this blog, it’s about politics and politics only.

For what it is worth I do plan on following that little rule; however, when so-called “Christians” insert themselves into politics, I, as a Fundamentalist Baptist, will have to speak out.

Having said all of the above, I can tell you with the uttermost confidence that God did not speak to Pat Roberson.

Here is the very misguided man attempting to act as someone who has a personal line with the almighty: (H/T Mediaite)

Quote:

I spent the better part of a week in prayer and just saying, ‘God show me something,’ some things I’ll share with you. I think he showed me the next me the next president but I’m not supposed to talk about that so I’ll leave you in the dark—probably just as well—I think I’ll know who it will be. I’m going to read just as I wrote down as if I’m hearing from the Lord these words.

Your country will be torn apart by internal stress, a house divided cannot stand. Your president holds a radical view of the direction of your country which is at odds with the majority, expect chaos and paralysis. Your president holds a view that is at odds with the majority, it’s a radical view of the future of this country, so that’s why we’re having this division. This is a spiritual battle which can only be won by overwhelming prayer. The future of the world is at stake because if America falls, there’s no longer a strong champion of freedom and a champion of the oppressed of the world. There must be an urgent call to prayer. The Lord said, a time of maximum stress and peril, greater than at any time since the CBN ministry began. This country will begin disintegrating.

I started thinking, when did we start this place? We started CBN in 1960, you think of all the things that went on, you had the assassination of the president, assassination of Martin Luther King, you’ve got a war in Vietnam, you’ve got all these things, He is saying you will have worse stress than before. So I’m saying, God, let me give you some suggestions and you tell me if any of them is right, pick one. I said, is it an EMP blast? No that isn’t it. Is it a cosmic or solar or radiation blast? No. Is it Mayan galaxy alignment? No. Is it Iranian or North Korean nuclear threat? No. Is it an earthquake or a volcano? No. Is it a massive power failure? No. What is it? It’s an economic collapse. And God said, This is not my judgment, they are bringing it upon themselves.

Pat Robertson is a Pentecostal Christian, he is under the typical delusion that the “signs and wonders” as written about in the Book of Acts chapter 2 are somehow for today. In that false belief system, these people actually believe that God is still speaking to people today. This is patently false; everything that God had to say to mankind is located in the Bible. period, end of story.

Anyone that tries to tell anyone any different is trying to deceive people, which is what this con man is an old professional at being— a con man.

I think this is a bit of a stretch

First off, let me say that I have never ever supported the #OWS movement at all.  However, I think that accusing the people that put this float on of Antisemitism is a bit of a stretch.

Here’s the video of the float: (Via Weasel Zippers) (I love the name of that blog… 😛 )

Now Donald Douglas, who I happen to think is a pretty nice guy; he likes Hendrix, he can’t be that bad! Anyhow, says that this float was essentially this:

I respect Douglas opinion, and he could very well be right about this; but he could be wrong too. I did not see any Israeli flag on the float.  My point is this, as I have written around here before; we, as Conservatives, need to be real careful about tossing the Jew-hater flag out at the political football game. I mean, pinning the thoughts of a few people on an entire crowd is collectivism and this Conservative writer despises that mindset. This is what separates me from the “Neo-Conservative” wing of the Conservative movement; because I happen to reject the “group think” mentality that goes on in those circles. Further, I reject the entire notion of collectivism as a Conservative way of thinking. Sorry, that’s a page from the leftist playbook and I want no part of it.

Again, I reject what the #OWS is all about, they’re anti-capitalists, that is a given — But I won’t place them all in the “Jew-Hater” corner. As someone who’s been accused of such tripe, I will not fire off that accusation at a group of people — at a individual, maybe.   But at a group? No. Sorry, that is just not how I roll. (as the young people like to say today. 😀 )

You might disagree, and that’s okay — stupidity is not illegal. 😉

Let’s not get carried away please

Listen, I stand for Israel as much as the next Conservative. But this article here, is borderline idiotic:

So Paul Krugman phoned in his periodic “Keynes Was Right” column today, arguing that the Obama Porkulus failed only because, like “true” Communism, it wasn’t tried vigorously or faithfully enough.

I wonder if Krugman also credits Keynes’s views on Jews, which British blogger Damian Thompson of The Telegraph brings to our attention.

via Keynes Was Right–About the Jews? | Power Line.

I mean, to make this sort of a comment to a man, who happens to be a liberal and Jewish, coming from another Jewish person is about the worst backhanded insult ever.

Now this point here, I will not contest:

Anti-Semitism used to be a property of the Right, yet it’s worth pointing out that today many of the intellectual heroes of the right are Jews, such as Milton Friedman, Leo Strauss, Irving Kristol, etc., or that anti-Semitism has become almost wholly the province of the Left today.

I got news for Mr. Hayward; it is still a property of the right. Ron Paul is a perfect example. Although it is far to point out that Ron Paul’s faction of the Republican Party is a very small one. One that believes in “Limited Freedom” for those who are White and Christian only. Although, to be fair, Rick Santorum basically feels the same way; the whole extremist Christian bigot.

My overall point here is this; we should be very careful about dropping the Anti-Semite flag during a political football game. It hurts those who are innocent of said charges. Just ask me.

What AllahPundit missed about Jews and Obama

I cannot believe that AllahPundit did not think of this, when he wrote this posting about Obama’s poll numbers among the Jewish community.

This is not a sarcastic posting or a tweak at AP or the Jews; this is quite serious business. So, listen up.

There is a historical reason why the Jewish people tend to move towards the Democrats.

Think about the period between 1941 and 1945, Think about Germany.

Which party was the party of FDR? The Democratic Party. Think about the G.O.P. during that time period. Anyone ever heard of TAFT?  Taft, for those who do not know, was the one of the founder fathers of the Paleo-Conservative movement. Taft was against every thing that FDR did, during his tenure in office. Including World War 2. Hell, if it had been left to the Republican Party; at the time of World War 2 —– We would be a Country ran by a Japanese – Nazi German coalition Government! Hell, Pat Buchanan himself is a damned Hitler sympathizer.  Ever read his books?   One of his little quips in a column of his, is what turned me against that bunch of damned haters. There’s also two words to remember about Paleo-Conservatives: Ron Paul. Paul and Buchanan are, in fact, the standard bearers of the Paleo-Conservative movement; and Rand Paul is apple of the old man’s eye too. Don’t let the polished act fool you. They share much with the Moonbats, this is why Buchanan is on MSNBC all of the time. — Anyhow, I’m not fan boy of Wilsonian foreign policy, not by a long shot, but when you hate people monolithically, because of their race or you even consider someone inferior to you; because of a skin color or racial makeup. I tend to not want to side with you.

So, there, there is your answer AllahPundit and the rest of you at HotAir.com. They side with Democrats, because it was their President who saved their bacon from a nutty dude from Germany.

I hate to be the one to say, but it is very true.

Updated With Info :No, Ron Paul should NOT be person of the year

Paleo-Conservative Jack Hunter thinks that Ron Paul should be person of the year.

Pardon me a second….. Bwaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Okay, here is why I think that is so ignorantly stupid. In case some of you forgot, Rand Paul, who is Ron Paul’s son; had his campaign manager abruptly quit last week. Why? Because some blogger by the name of barefoot and progressive found a MySpace page of his, which was, shall we say, um, racist? The man claims it was not his; uh, yeah, sure it wasn’t!

Anyhow, here’s a screen shot or two of it:

Oh, there’s ton’s more. Click on over and take a look.

What does this have to do with Ron Paul, you ask? Well, as they say, a leaf does not usual fall too far from the tree. In case any of you do not remember; Ron Paul had some newsletter, that he CLAIMED were written by ghost writers. (yeah, right…)

Here is a nice sampling of these little newsletters: (H/T to The New Republic)

Race

A Special Issue on Racial Terrorism” analyzes the Los Angeles riots of 1992: “Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began. … What if the checks had never arrived? No doubt the blacks would have fully privatized the welfare state through continued looting. But they were paid off and the violence subsided.”

The November 1990 issue of the Political Report had kind words for David Duke.

This newsletter describes Martin Luther King Jr. as “a world-class adulterer” who “seduced underage girls and boys” and “replaced the evil of forced segregation with the evil of forced integration.”

The January 1991 edition of the Political Report refers to King as a “world-class philanderer who beat up his paramours” and a “flagrant plagiarist with a phony doctorate.”

A February 1991 newsletter attacks “The X-Rated Martin Luther King.”

An October 1990 edition of the Political Report ridicules black activists, led by Al Sharpton, for demonstrating at the Statue of Liberty in favor of renaming New York City after Martin Luther King. The newsletter suggests that “Welfaria,” “Zooville,” “Rapetown,” “Dirtburg,” and “Lazyopolis” would be better alternatives–and says, “Next time, hold that demonstration at a food stamp bureau or a crack house.”

Gays

In the course of defending homophobic comments by Andy Rooney of CBS, a 1990 newsletter notes that a reporter for a gay magazine “certainly had an axe to grind, and that’s not easy with a limp wrist.”

The June 1990 issue of the Political Report says: “I miss the closet. Homosexuals, not to speak of the rest of society, were far better off when social pressure forced them to hide their activities.”

From the August 1990 issue of the Political Report: “Bring Back the Closet!”

A January 1994 edition of the Survival Report states that “gays in San Francisco do not obey the dictates of good sense,” adding: “[T]hese men don’t really see a reason to live past their fifties. They are not married, they have no children, and their lives are centered on new sexual partners.” Also, “they enjoy the attention and pity that comes with being sick.”

Survivalism and Militias

The November 1994 issue of the Survival Report celebrates anti-government militias.

The January 1995 issue of the Survival Report–released just three months before the Oklahoma City bombing–cites an anti-government militia’s advice to other militias, including, “Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”

The October 1992 issue of the Political Report paraphrases an “ex-cop” who offers this strategy for protecting against “urban youth”: “If you have to use a gun on a youth, you should leave the scene immediately, disposing of the wiped off gun as soon as possible. Such a gun cannot, of course, be registered to you, but one bought privately (through the classifieds, for example).”

Conspiracies

This 1978 newsletter says the Trilateral Commission is “no longer known only by those who are knowledgeable about international conspiracies, but is routinely mentioned in the daily news.”

A 1986 newsletter names Jeane Kirkpatrick and George Will as “two of our enemies” and notes their membership in the Trilateral Commission.

In an undated solicitation letter for The Ron Paul Investment Letter and the Ron Paul Political Report, Paul writes: “I’ve been told not to talk, but these stooges don’t scare me. Threats or no threats, I’ve laid bare the coming race war in our big cities. The federal-homosexual cover-up on AIDS (my training as a physician helps me see through this one.) The Bohemian Grove–perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress’s Mr. New Money. The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica.”

Middle East

A 1989 newsletter compares Salman Rushdie to Ernst Zundel, a Canadian Holocaust-denier.

The March 1987 issue of The Ron Paul Investment Letter calls Israel “an aggressive, national socialist state.”

Other Documents: Paul has had a long association with the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a libertarian think tank based in Auburn, Alabama. The think tank was founded by Lew Rockwell, who served as Paul’s congressional chief of staff from 1978 to 1982.

This March 1995 letter from Lew Rockwell advertises the Mises Institute’s upcoming conference on secession (at which Paul spoke): “We’ll explore what causes [secession] and how to promote it.”

An advertisement for the Mises Institute’s 1995 secession conference–to be held in Charleston, “hotbed of America’s two great secessions, against Britain and D.C.”

Race

In an article entitled “The Coming Race War,” The Ron Paul Political Report refers to the “pro-communist philanderer Martin Luther King” and refers to his “non-violent approach” as “(i.e., state violence).” The newsletter advises that, “if there is any issue the Republicans have in their favor for the next presidential election, it is the question of race. It was all over for Michael Dukakis when Jesse Jackson gave his awful prime-time speech at the last Democratic convention, and the cameras focused on masses of teary-eyed, left-wing blacks.”

A May 1990 issue of the Ron Paul Political Report cites Jared Taylor, who six months later would go onto found the eugenicist and white supremacist periodical American Renaissance. The May 1991 issue of the Ron Paul Political Report cites American Renaissance and offers readers subscription information for it.

The July 1994 Ron Paul Survival Report cites “criminologist” Jared Taylor.

The January 1993 issue of the Survival Report worries about America’s “disappearing white majority”

The July 1992 Ron Paul Political Report declares, “Jury verdicts, basketball games, and even music are enough to set off black rage, it seems,” and defends David Duke. The author of the newsletter–presumably Paul–writes, “My youngest son is starting his fourth year in medical school. He tells me there would be no way to persuade his fellow students of the case for economic liberty.”

A March 1993 Survival Report describes Bill Clinton’s supposedly “illegitimate children, black and white: ‘woods colts’ in backwoods slang.”

Gays

The December 1989 Ron Paul Political Report contains entries on a “new form of racial terrorism,” cites former Congressman Bill Dannemeyer’s claim that “the average homosexual has 1,000 or more partners in a lifetime,” and quotes Lew Rockwell, president of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, in the third person.

In January 1990, the Ron Paul Political Report cites “a well-known libertarian editor” who “told me: ‘The ACT-UP slogan on stickers plastered all over Manhattan is ‘Silence=Death.’ But shouldn’t it be Sodomy = Death’?”

The July 1991 Ron Paul Political Report defends homophobic remarks made by Tom Clancy, and cites Clancy saying, “I live in a free country, and if people want to have their anuses used in that way, while I find it unsavory, I do not arrogate to myself the right to prevent them from doing so.”

The September 1994 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report states that “those who don’t commit sodomy, who don’t get blood a transfusion, and who don’t swap needles, are virtually assured of not getting AIDS unless they are deliberately infected by a malicious gay.”

Anti-Government Paranoia/Conspiracy Theories/Survivalism

A fundraising letter from Paul’s 1984 Senate campaign in which Paul complains about the “minions of Kissinger and Rockefeller” and “the big New York banks, and their pals in Texas” who “want me silenced.”

The January 1988 Ron Paul Political Report approvingly cites Dr. William C. Douglass, who “believes that AIDS is a deliberately engineered hybrid” developed at a World Health Organization experiment conducted at Ft. Detrick. Douglass has long been a fringe medical guru, and today claims that “smoking can help you live longer!!!”

The November 1989 Ron Paul Political Report reports on the Bohemian Grove and Ronald Reagan’s “old Trilateralist agenda item of four-year terms for Congressmen.”

This 1993 Ron Paul Strategy Guide entitled, “How to Protect Yourself from Urban Violence” is a special supplement the Ron Paul Survival Report. In the April 1993 Ron Paul Survival Report, the author–writing in the first person–states, “Whether [the 1993 World Trade Center bombing] was a setup by the Israeli Mossad, as a Jewish friend of mine suspects, or was truly a retaliation by the Islamic fundamentalists, matters little.” The newsletters also warns readers to “do your very best to keep your family away from inner cities. If you can’t, have a haven remote from the metropolitan areas.”

The May 1995 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report warns of “The Trilateralist Alan Greenspan” and its author writes, “Now that my five children are grown and educated, I’ve listened to the many supporters who’ve urged me to return to office. I can now give up my medical practice, and dedicate every fiber of my being to saving our country.” The newsletter also contains an advertisement for the Ron Paul congressional exploratory committee.

The September 1995 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report asks about “Black Helicopters?”

The June 1996 issue of the Ron Paul Survival Report refers to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms officers as “Jackbooted Thugs.”

Jews

The November 1992 Ron Paul Survival Report defends chess champion and Holocaust-denier Bobby Fischer, saying that “the brilliant Fischer, who has all the makings of an American hero, is very politically incorrect on Jewish questions, for which he will never be forgiven, even though he is a Jew. Thus we are not supposed to herald him as the world’s greatest chess player.”

Pat Buchanan

In January 1992, Paul writes about his consideration of a presidential bid which he dashed after Pat Buchanan expressed his intention to run. Paul wrote of “the essential compatibility between [Buchanan’s] ideas and mine” and “agreed to serve as the chairman of his economic advisory committee.”A 1992 issue of the Rothbard-Rockwell-Report Newsletter Authorship tells of Paul’s decision to defer to Pat Buchanan in the 1992 Republican presidential primary.

The masthead of March 1987 Ron Paul Investment Letter lists “the Hon. Ron Paul” as “Editor and Publisher” and “Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr.” as one of several contributing editors.

An undated personal solicitation letter–signed by Paul–asking the recipient to subscribe to his newsletter in anticipation of (presumably) the 1988 Libertarian Party Presidential nominating convention.

The April 1988 Ron Paul Investment Letter lists Paul as Editor.

The May 1988 Ron Paul Investment Letter lists Lew Rockwell as Editor. It also advertises books by the far-right conspiracy theorist Gary Allen, who was a contributing editor to the Ron Paul Investment Letter.

What is it that they say? Like Father, Like Son. The Republican Party would be wise to shun and maybe even derail this Rand Paul, while they have the chance. Further more, Ron Paul is not even remotely close to being person of the year. Hell, he should be only allow to retire and hopefully forgotten. While he might be right about some things; its that ugly stuff that disqualifies him from the discussion.

Update #1: Genuine GOP Mom Agrees. Vote for and Support a REAL American and Conservative, Bill Johnson. Let’s keep the Antisemitic morons and Racist Bigots out of politics, Washington D.C. and on the sidelines where they belong.

Why do Liberals Hate Alan Grayson because he is a Jew?

Once again, the so-called Moral Authority has a double standard moment:

Since defeating an incumbent in Florida’s Republican-heavy 8th congressional district last year, Rep. Alan Grayson has emerged as one of the progressive movement’s most vocal champions. His attacks on Republican obstruction of healthcare reform and staunch opposition to escalation in Afghanistan have earned Grayson effusive praise from many liberal bloggers and activists.

Even before his election, Grayson gained recognition from the Wall Street Journal for being a “fierce critic of the war in Iraq” who sported a “Bush Lied, People Died” bumper sticker on his car. Recently, Grayson to CNN, “People want to see a congressman with guts. And America likes to hear the truth.”

Grayson has battled for the public option and opposed the wars Obama has inherited from Bush. Of course, these positions are upheld by a broad swath of congressional Democrats and, at least in the case of the public option, are supported by a majority of Americans. But when it comes to the Israel-Palestine conflict, Grayson is fully programmed by AIPAC and the pro-war, pro-settlements wing of the Israel Lobby.

via Gutsy progressive congressman Alan Grayson leads a double life. – mondoweiss.net

This is the same left that likes to decry people like Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul as Anti-Semites and Racist bigots. But you let one of their own happen to agree with the idea that Israel has a right to exist and that this homeland of the Jews deserves to be defended from outside threats and the Liberal’s standard changes rather quickly.

The double standard is stunning.

The American Conservative continues to spew hate from it's blogs.

This is unreal.

The Libya deal was vintage neoconservatism in action – pretending to get rid of non-existent WMD so that the oil money could flow. And look what has come of it.

via Post Right » Neoconservatism From Beyond The Grave.

Well, we all know that the word Neo-Conservative or Neo-Conservatism basically is another word for the word Jew.

So, according to this Nitwit. It was the JEWS fault! 🙄

…and they wonder why The American Conservative is about to go under as a publication? That could not happen too fast, if you ask me.

Such Bigotry, Such Hate, Such fools. 🙄

Update:Gateway AnaBaptist Church Fire Update

A while back I wrote about this Church and about the fact that they had a fire.

Here is an update on their situation:

Gateway Anabaptist Church
6146 E Dunbar Rd
Monroe, Michigan 48161
Pastor Dan Hardin 734-777-6676

Isaiah 64:11 “Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste”

The evening of June 30, 2009, the Gateway Anabaptist Church building sustained an electrical fire rendering the complete loss of the contents and use of the current building, but no loss of any lives. Praise the Lord! Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the second floor, but water damaged all other contents – including, tracts, Bibles, books, printers, furniture….

We have been inquiring into renting a closed elementary school building in our school district, while we attempt to rebuild. Please pray for the Lord’s leading in finding a place to meet as autumn is just around the corner.

Saturday, August 8, some of our members attempted to have a bake sale and raised $400. Neighbors of the church building came just to donate, even in the pouring rain! Some of the church members are hoping to have a car wash in the near future just to help work and raise money for the building fund. We now have $11,200.00 in the building fund.

We expect that it will take about $125,000 to rebuild our facility. We are presently trying to work with the authorities to get our electricity back on.

God is leading in so many of our friends lives from so many other churches, who have been blessed by our church ministry throughout the years, to help us and share in the blessings. It has truly been a humbling , yet wonderful experience to see how God will use “the widow’s mite.” To all that have contributed already we must say, “Thank you, we will never forget your kindness!” God is able!

As the pastor having lost so many of my “in reach, and ready resources” of literature for evangelism, discipleship, and counseling, it has become most difficult. However, when that day returns in the future when we will have those things again, we look forward to the more greater things that will be accomplished for the ministry of the Gospel. We have recently seen six baptized with about eight more awaiting baptism with several that have been recently saved. God is adding to His church, in spite of all the adversity.

The enemy meant it for evil, …but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20

We will not “quit or compromise” as God leads us through the “fire and the flood”.

“…Some through the water, Some through the flood, Some through the fire, But all through the blood…!”

Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

We very much covet your prayers!
