Stupid White People – Texas Edition

All I can do here is shake my head. Some of my people seriously dumb.

The Story via NBC News:

A middle school teacher in Texas is no longer employed after a video posted on social media showed him telling students his race is “superior.”

“Deep down in my heart, I’m ethnocentric, which means I think my race is the superior one,” the teacher was recorded telling students of various races last week inside a classroom at Bohls Middle School, a sixth- through eighth-grade school in Pflugerville, about 18 miles northeast of Austin.

“I think everybody thinks that,” the teacher says. “They’re just not honest about it.”

The remark appeared to be directed at two Black students. Some students challenged the teacher. One student says: “I’m not racist though. I like all types of kinds.” The teacher responds, “Did I say I don’t like people?”

Another Black student asks the teacher: “Wait, so you said you are what? You are a racist?”

“I think everybody is a racist at that level,” the teacher responds. The same student tells him: “No. But you said you are a racist.”

“I did. I did,” the teacher said. A pair of Black students then told the teacher that they no longer had respect for him.

Ethnocentric? More like butthole bigot to me. The story goes on at the link. Thankfully, the school district fired his racist butt. It’s one thing to think such things; it is another entirely to say them out loud.

Now, I could go on about how this a sign of the Republican Party under Donald Trump and all that stupid nonsense. But, truthfully, I believe this a bad case of someone speaking, when he should keep his damned mouth shut and speaking without really engaging his rather small pea brain.

With SJW’s nothing is sacred, not even kids

Saw this over at The American Conservative, Rod Dreher writes:

You may recall the recent post here revealing that Highlights For Children, the venerable magazine, had come under fire from SJWs for its policy of not featuring families headed by gay couples in the magazine, out of a willingness to allow parents of the magazine’s young subscribers the opportunity to talk to their children about homosexuality as they considered appropriate.

Well, the SJWs got their scalp. A reader forwarded me the correspondence between herself and the magazine around the issue. She kept writing, trying to get a straightforward answer about whether or not the magazine was going to feature same-sex families. Finally, out of frustration, she cancelled her family’s subscription, and told the magazine, “I think Highlights should continue being what it is and leave conversations about this sort of thing up to families.

This is the e-mail she got back:

Dear [Name],

Thank you for your message, and I’m sorry that we were slow to respond.

Although I see that you have already canceled your subscription, I thought it still important to answer your questions about what Highlights means when we say we plan to be more fully reflective of all families, including families with same-sex parents.

As you know, Highlights publications focus on kids. We are general interest magazines, and we publish fiction and nonfiction of all types, as well as games, puzzles, jokes, and crafts. Our target audience is kids under the age of 12, most under the age of 8 or 9.

The themes we cover in our magazines are broad and universal—relatable to children trying to navigate childhood. Because children are our focus, we rarely show a full family in our illustrations, instead focusing on showing the child the reader relates to. When a parent is shown or integrated in a story, it is frequently just one parent because a good 800-word children’s story cannot support too many different characters.

When we do show families in the magazines, we make it a point to include diversity. We strive to be diverse in every way. The goal, however, is not to specifically call attention to diversity but instead to help kids understand that while differences exist, we are all actually more alike than different. For instance, from time to time we show families headed up by a grandparent or single parents. We show adoptive families, blended families, multi-generational families, and multi-racial families. In the future, we will depict same-sex families in our magazines in a manner consistent to the way all diverse families are depicted. This is in support of our mission to help children become their best selves and understand that all families, including theirs, are important.

We’re sorry to lose you as a subscriber, but I hope this email helps to clarify our position.

Sincerely,

Christine Cully

The Obama’s last Easter egg roll

This is one of those posts that is going to get me into trouble, with those who are hyper-partisan types. But, you know what? I really do not give two-flips. I may not agree with President Obama’s politics; but I do recognize him for his humanity and more importantly, for his love of Children.

The video:

The Story via The Washington Post and keep in mind here; that this is written from a progressive political stance. I do not agree her stance, but she did write a good story:

Zilch. Every. Dang. Year.

We’ve entered the White House Easter Egg Roll lottery for years now, hoping each time that we would be one of 35,000 families lucky enough to get tickets to play on the South Lawn, to post those glorious Facebook pictures in front of the South Portico.

And every year, we came up snake eyes. Until now. Yesss!

And this was the year to win, not only because the boys are reaching tweendom, when eye-rolling will replace egg rolling and this will only be another occasion for me to embarrass them. But because it was the last chance we’ll have to celebrate the holiday at the White House during the historic Obama presidency.

It was a common sentiment among families at the egg roll and bittersweet for many.

“The truth is, we may not see this again in our lifetime, an African American family in the White House,” said Carla Backus, 51, a federal worker from Temple Hills, Md.

“With all the backlash, with all the bitterness they endured. It was important for us to be there today. It was emotional,” said Backus, who came with her 9-year-old son, Robert Richardson. “It’s important for me that my son see people who look like us in the White House.”

For more than a century, the White House Easter Egg Roll has commanded a special place on Washington’s calendar and in the hearts of people from around the region.

Now for the life of me; I could not see a Donald Trump doing anything of this sort. At least, not with the love and compassion that the Obama’s have done it. Donald Trump strikes me as the alpha male type. You know, the type of “Hi Kids, Grandpa loves you — now get back to your Mother.” That sort of guy. I just do not see Donald Trump getting involved with something like this; he would be the type, to come out and wave and go back into the White House and let someone else handle the show.

As much as I disagree with the Obama’s on their politics; I think that them being kid-friendly and loving on Children, especially black children; is wonderful. It gives kids a feeling of, “I can do anything, if I put my mind to it.” It gives them a feeling of self-worth and that is something that is very much lacking today with kids — especially in the inner city. As someone who grew up in the inner city of Detroit; I know too well about that feeling of self-worth. I saw many people, even some of my family, that succumbed to the curse of self worthlessness and got involved with things that were harmful to them and in some cases killed them.

As much as I do see Donald Trump, as someone who would actually lead the Nation on important matters; I just do not see him being this sort of kid friendly in the White House, especially towards minority children. I mean, his whole campaign, since day one, has been a big gigantic nuanced racism infomercial. You think that he would actually bring black kids, into the White House?!? Please.

So, yes, it is the end of an era. An era which has not been seen since the days of John F. Kennedy. This my friends, is a very sad thing. Because the White House and the Presidency of the United States should be one to inspire people; including kids of all colors and backgrounds. The Presidency should not be a bully pulpit for an arrogant blowhard to flex his authoritarian muscles, which is what you will get with a Donald Trump Presidency.

Oh and “war on women”?!?!?! You just wait till Trump is elected. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

PORTLAND Oregon Child Evangelism Fellowship under fire for preaching basic fundamental Christian truths

I saw this earlier and I was not going to blog about it. However, I felt lead to write something about it.

The Story via The Christian News Network:

PORTLAND, Ore. — A chapter of a nationally-recognized Christian group that seeks to reach children with the gospel of Jesus Christ is under fire for teaching kids the biblical doctrine of sin and eternal judgment, in addition to sharing about the love and mercy of God.

The Portland chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is facing resistance from some area residents as they conduct voluntary summer camps in the area and plan on hosting after-school Bible studies in local public schools. The problem? CEF teaches children that each person is a sinner in need of the Savior.

Those who oppose the group assert that because of this, CEF does not present “Jesus loves you” mainstream Christianity, and claim that the organization is “hardcore evangelical fundamental.”

They pretend to be a mainstream Christian Bible study when in fact they’re a very old school fundamentalist sect,” resident Kaye Schmitt told local television station KATU.

[….]

Robert Aughenbaugh also told reporters this week that preaching to children about sin might give them feelings of fear and shame.

Aughenbaugh, Schmitt and others have organized a group called Protect Portland Children, which seeks to speak out against CEF’s message and influence parents not to allow their children to attend its events. It has set up a Facebook page that has so far generated over 800 likes. It’s profile photograph is of a child holding a sign that reads “I am not a sinner.”

[….]

[The] curriculum teaches young children that they’re born sinners, bound for eternity in hell unless they obey the club’s teachings,” the group asserts.

“Before the Portland public schools allow ‘The Good News Club’ to use school facilities or to promote their activities on campus it would seem appropriate to allow mental health professionals to further investigate the activities of this group,” wrote Chuck Currie of the United Church of Christ in a recent blog post about the matter.

[…]

But CEF says that it is not teaching anything outside of the basic and fundamental truths of the gospel—and that mankind must understand the bad news to know why the good news is so good.

“Listen, the message of the gospel the teaching of the core Christian tenets of the Christian faith that have been taught for 2,000 years in the Bible is what we’re teaching,” CEF Vice President of Ministries Moises Esteves told local television station KOIN. “There’s nothing new here.”

The group has partnered with over 30 area churches to present its evangelical outreach to youth in Portland.

“We do teach about sin,” Esteves stated, “[But] we’re not nasty. We’re not high pressure. We’re not negative, but we teach what the Bible teaches that every human being is a sinner in need of a savior.”

Reporters observed the group in action on Wednesday, singing John 3:16 with the children in attendance, which reads, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

My friends, we are, in fact, living in the last days. Israel is at war, our Nation is being overran; war is imminent with Russia, the economy is teetering on disaster — Now there is this; Christ’s servants are being persecuted for sharing the timeless gospel to children.

Have your things in order, as the Lord cometh shortly.

why do people do stupid stuff like this?

This right here, is too stupid for words.

go read the story about some stupid mother who let their young kid dress up as a Klansman.

That’s some seriously weapons-grade stupid right there. I don’t care what she was thinking, that’s just dumb no matter how you size it.

There some video with the link too. I didn’t watch it. I don’t have the stomach for it. I can’t handle watching stupidity in motion.

Some people shouldn’t be allowed to breed.

Family News: Dad is in the hospital

I just thought I would tell my readers that read here all the time. My Father is in the hospital with his hip. For a while now, my Father has had problems with his hip and his leg. The pain, up till last night; has been bad but manageable. Well, last night, Dad’s pain took a turn for the worse.

Dad had been up at a family camping and fishing trip with my uncle and cousins. For the all of that trip, my Dad was in horrible pain; and last night my Father took all he could take and told me to take him to the hospital. I ended up staying at the hospital all night long. Needless to say, I will quite rough. I got some sleep here for a few hours thankfully, but I will be tired by this evening, I can tell you that.

What I can tell you is this; so far, the Doctor’s have found no blockages in his legs at all. So, they are running a battery of more tests to see if it is a pinched nerve or what. I will tell you this; seeing my poor 67-year-old Father literally crying in pain and agony, rips my heart out. 😥 Mainly, because there is nothing that I can really do about the pain or even make it stop.

I know I was telling about my plans to go back to driving truck and how my little health issues delayed my getting back in the truck. Well, those are solved, for now at least. But, due to my Father’s issues, my plans on getting back into the truck are on hold for the time being. Until my Dad is pain-free and can get around like he could before; I will not be getting back into the truck. My motto is this: Family First, Career Second.

I will keep you posted on my Dad, I promise you all that. But now, I got to get to the hospital to see my Dad here shortly.

Prayers for my Dad, my Mom and for me.

Thanks,

-Patrick

I am all for children being protected at school…. But…..

I do believe that this is just a wee bit overboard. 😯

The story:

OWINGS, MD — The father of a middle schooler in Calvert County, Md. says his 11-year-old son was suspended for 10 days for merely talking about guns on the bus ride home.

Bruce Henkelman of Huntingtown says his son, a sixth grader at Northern Middle School in Owings, was talking with friends about the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre when the bus driver hauled him back to school to be questioned by the principal, Darrel Prioleau.

“The principal told me that with what happened at Sandy Hook if you say the word ‘gun’ in my school you are going to get suspended for 10 days,” Henkelman said in an interview with WMAL.com.

So what did the boy say?  According to his father, he neither threatened nor bullied anyone.

“He said, I wish I had a gun to protect everyone. He wanted to defeat the bad guys. That’s the context of what he said,” Henkelman said. “He wanted to be the hero.”

The boy was questioned by the principal and a sheriff’s deputy, who also wanted to search the family home without a warrant, Henkelman said. “He started asking me questions about if I have firearms, and [the deputy said] he’s going to have to search my house.  Search my house?  I just wanted to know what happened.”

No search was performed, and the deputy left Henkelman’s home after the father answered questions in a four-page questionnaire issued by the Sheriff’s Office.

via WMAL : Where Washington Comes to Talk – WMAL EXCLUSIVE: 11-Yr-Old Suspended From School For Merely TALKING About Guns.

Look, nobody likes the idea of any kids being shot or guns being brought to school by kids, — period, end of story. But, merely talking about guns?!?! I tend to think that is just a little over the top. This is not nazi Germany or the communist soviet empire. We do have a right to freedom of speech.

Second of all, now don’t think that I am going to drone on like some Alex Jones reject about how this is some sort of conspiracy by the Obama Administration to take all of our guns or something silly like that, sorry, I don’t play that game here.  If anything at all, it is overly cautious school board, who is reacting to the recent shootings that have taken place over the past few months. I can see why they did it; but, I think the principal and teachers went a bit overboard.

There is nothing wrong with trying to be safe, but being paranoid can be very dangerous itself. Plus too, censoring kids speech just makes you look like fascists.

Oh and too, searching a house, without a warrant?!?!?  I don’t think so! You have probable cause, and a warrant signed by a judge —- or you take your silly donut eating pig ass back to the station where you belong. 😡

This whole trampling on the rights of the American people for the so-called “greater good”, just pisses me the hell off. 😡

The Public School System is going to hell in a hand-basket, as always.

I have no words for this one folks, not one:

Video:

The Story:

Parents of children attending a Red Hook, New York, middle school are outraged after a recent anti-bullying presentation at Linden Avenue Middle School.

The workshop for 13 and 14-year-old girls focused on homosexuality and gender identity. They were also taught words such as “pansexual” and “genderqueer.”

Parents say their daughters were told to ask one another for a kiss and they say two girls were told to stand in front of the class and pretend they were lesbians on a date.

“She told me, ‘Mom we all get teased and picked on enough. Now I’m going to be called a lesbian because I had to ask another girl if I could kiss her,'” parent, Mandy Coon, told reporters.

Coon says parents were given no warning about the presentation and there was no opportunity to opt-out. Both the school principal and the district superintendent are defending the workshops and advising they will schedule more.

“The school is overstepping its bounds in not notifying parents first and giving us the choice,” another parent said. “I thought it was very inappropriate. That kind of instruction is best left up to the parents.”

“I was absolutely furious — really furious,” a parent who asked to remain anonymous told reporter Todd Starnes, “These are just kids. I’m dumbfounded that they found this class was appropriate.”

Superintendent Paul Finch told The Poughkeepsie Journal the presentation was “focused on improving culture, relationships, communication and self-perceptions.”

“We may require more notification to parents in the future,” Finch said

One simply word comes to mind: Unbelievable. One word folks: Home-School. I did it, and so should every parent today. Because the public school system has just become too evil to send your children to it anymore.
