UPDATED: Detroit continues its swirl down the drain

But simply, this is what happens when you pursue a socialist agenda. This might just be America in a few years.

Via WXYZ-TV:

(WXYZ) – After reviewing the city’s finances, Detroit’s Financial Review Team has concluded that a financial emergency exists within the City of Detroit and it will be up to Governor Rick Snyder to determine if the state should extend a consent agreement with the city to resolve the crisis – or appoint an emergency financial manager.

In the report, the Review Team states there is no satisfactory plan that exists to resolve a serious financial problem.

Here’s the documents:

I would assume that this basically means that Detroit is just downright broke. It’s sad too. Detroit was once a great city, but it has gone downhill since Mayor Young took it over in 1978.

I think all Americans ought to take a hard look at this, and ask yourselves, “Do I want this for America?”

Just my Opinion.

Update: Yikes Indeed. Ordinarily, I would be a bit ticked off about a blog posting of this sort about Detroit. However, I will fully concede the point that Detroit has made a good deal of mistakes over the years; some that predate even me.  One of which was chasing the only honest black man who was Mayor of that city in the 1990’s in favor of a corrupt Democrat Mayor that is now looking at some sweet jail time for his corruption. The second major mistake was the throwing off of the free market capitalism in favor of an entitlement, racially based, socialist system that ended up bankrupting the city. It is a sad thing to say about one’s hometown; but it is, inevitably, the truth. I just hope and pray that Michigan can fix the problem, before things get worse down there. Because sometimes, Detroit’s problems spill over into the suburbs.

Still, it is a bit tough to see the city that I grew up in, as a kid, going through the stuff that it is going through; all the while knowing that it all could have been prevented. It does sadden me to my core. Detroit was once a great city, and now, it is, what it is. Which is nothing short of a crap-hole of socialism, black entitlement and utter waste. If anything, for the United States of America, Detroit should be an example of what not to do, when running a city.

Just my opinion.

Own too much stuff? Your city can call you a hoarder, set your house on fire and tear it down

This is unreal.

Check the video:

The local story via The Downriver News Herald:

TAYLOR — Cleanup after an early morning house fire continued throughout the day today on Goddard Road near Oak.

The house in the 23300 block of Goddard, across from the main fire station and City Hall, continued to smolder as it was being torn down at 11 a.m.

The house had been vacant for 20 years and was filled with debris in what Fire Chief Bob Tompos called a “hoarder situation.”

The fire started at 5 a.m. in the basement, Deputy Chief Dan Reynolds said, although the cause is still being investigated.

Debris inside was at window level on the main floor and about 6 inches from the ceiling in the basement. The attic also was filled.

Once the fire began, entry to the residence was obstructed by the items inside, which Reynolds estimated were 85 percent garbage.

With no one inside, responders contained the fire and poured water on it, Tompos said.

A section of the first floor was found collapsed into the basement due to the weight of the debris and fire damage inside, Reynolds said, contributing to the decision to raze the structure.

The fire burned for about two hours before being extinguished, although numerous hot spots smoldered and continued to crop up, delaying the demolition.

So, there you have it. Like to collect stuff? Don’t do it in Taylor, Michigan. because if you do; they’ll tear your house down. I got $5 that says someone from the city had that house torched, because someone was complaining about it and the city was powerless to do anything about it. So, about five in the morning, someone, most likely paid by the city, torched the house.

Just to be honest, I cannot prove my allegations at all. But I can tell you this; I have friends who live over in that city and the corruption in that it city is quite well known, and has been going on for years. Why do you think that the city is having so many problems? Because the past leadership over there was horrible corrupt for years— just like Ecorse and Detroit.

Even it is was a “hoarder,” does not that city have to get permission from the owners to tear it down like that, whatever happened to property rights? Whatever happened to getting a order from a court to tear something down, before just barging onto someone’s property and razing a building? Could not the fire dept just stay out and keep the fire from spreading? It just sounds like progressive leadership and city gone horrible wrong, if you ask me.

Smart Move: Governor Rick Snyder to veto concealed weapons legislation

Even though I despise that lying bastard, this was a good move:

(WXYZ) – A spokesperson for Republican State Senator Mike Green, the sponsor of the controversial gun legislation that passed last week, says they have been told to expect the governor to veto the bill.

An official statement from Senator Green, who represents the 31st district, is expected soon.

The governor’s office is not yet commenting on Senator Green’s release.

The bill drew widespread criticism in the wake of the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut where 26 people were killed – including 20 children.. Under the proposed law concealed weapons would have been allowed in schools and churches.

We can fight that battle another day. Right now, it is too soon.

Local News: When naked drunks attack

Sorry, but you cannot write jokes this funny. Hee hee

Via the Detroit Free Press:

Police found a drunk, naked man on a Pontiac street after he apparently stole an acquaintance’s car and crashed it into a tree early Sunday.

A 22-year-old Pontiac woman called police at 2:05 a.m. Sunday claiming the 35-year-old man stole her car as she was letting it warm up in the driveway of a home on West Howard. He then drove it across the street and ran into a tree, she told Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Officers found him nearby, drunk and naked, with evidence that he had just been assaulted. He was too drunk to tell them what happened, according to investigator.

Local Story: Dope-headed parents from Wyandotte looking at prison time

I have no children of my own, but when it comes to kids, I have zero tolerance for stuff like this here:

A Wyandotte couple accused of forcing their two young children to stand in steaming hot water for so long that the youngsters’ feet were severely burned waived their rights to a preliminary hearing on Thursday, sending their cases straight to the Wayne County Circuit Court.

Erica Anne Bohn, 24, and Brandon Edward Soules, 28, will face a separate arraignment at 9 a.m. Dec. 20 in circuit court. Both are charged with two felony counts of second-degree child abuse, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Twenty-seventh District Judge Randall Kalmbach ordered that bond be continued as previously set—$20,000/10 percent for Bohn and $30,000/10 percent for Soules.

Neither have posted bond and remain locked up in the Wayne County Jail.

Erica Anne Bohn, 25, and Brandon Edward Soules, 29 — Two dope-headed pukes who belong on death row, but will rot in a jail cell for a very long time — as they should!

People should not do drugs, that is a given; it is something I believe, sue me. People with kids, should really not do drugs and if they do; they should lose their kids, if they are caught doing the drugs. This right here, is a perfect example as to why I happen to be of that opinion.

Furthermore, this woman should be not be allowed to ever have anymore children. That’s right, I believe that this idiotic woman ought to be forced to have a hysterectomy. Cut off the breeding grounds, so this dope-headed fiend of a woman cannot breed again. Also too, force this man to be clipped too, so that he cannot be a sperm donor to anymore dope headed women.

I am normally an open-minded person, when it comes to such things. However, when it comes to children, I am the quintessential narrow-minded Luddite. You just do not do to children, what these two bastards did; and expect any sort of pity out of me, at all, period, end of story.

Did Steven Crowder sucker punch a union protester?

Now this is very interesting:

The Photo:

The story:

The washed up child actor is apparently to stupid to realize just what he was admitting in that interview. He is apparently too stupid to understand that the video they showed last night includes proof that he sucker punched the demonstrator before he himself was hit in retaliation. This is why you don’t let ignorant washed-up child actors serve as correspondents on your fake news show. It never turns out well for you or your neoliberal agenda.

So brainiac Crowder inadvertently admitted yesterday that he went to the demonstration to provoke a response; to “prove the left for who they really are”. This mindset of Crowder holds true to his current alignment with the  Andrew Breitbart  “war against the institutional left.”   philosophy and it makes what happened and it puts the subsequent misleading editing of the first video he released in the proper perspective.

And apparently after he was unable to garner something he could use on Fox “news” that night after being belligerent all day long to people who are literally out there fighting for their jobs, their pensions and their futures, he decided to step it up a notch.

As the Fox cameraman was focused on one confrontation, Crowder ducks under the view of the camera and sucker punches  the demonstrator who was then filmed getting up off the ground and going right at Steven in retaliation.

Above is a still taken from the extended video Fox ran on the Sean Hannity show last night. Notice the extended crawler they ran over the bottom 3rd of the screen in an effort to hide Steven’s hand. It ran so fast you can barely make out what happened, but I took it frame by frame and as I pointed out last night when I first saw the edited video, Steven clearly hits the man, I think he sucker punched him, in order to provoke a response.

The still above is a screen capture taken from that video. You can see Steven’s arm is outstretched and he pulls it back quickly. It’s outstretched in the direction and approximate height of the demonstrator’s head. He’s also got his right hand up covering the right side of his face in what appears to be a defensive posture taught in fight training and probably a conditioned action by Steven when he throws a punch.

No wonder the dude slugged him. Like I said, this was all done intentionally and they got what they wanted. It is too bad, that one poor man got caught in the middle of it all.

UPDATED Heartbreaking: Black hot dog vendor caught in middle of union protest

This one breaks my heart. It appears that someone was caught in the middle of the protest in Lansing.

The Photo:

Clint Tarver, known as “The Hot Dog Guy” here in Lansing.

Here is the part that breaks my heart, it comes Ironic Surrealism:

The woman (Lorilea Susanne) who set up the fundraising page for Clint has spoken to his wife. Apparently Clint was hired to provide catering for the Americans For Prosperity tent which was also destroyed by union thugs.

*UPDATE* 11:40am – I have spoken with Linda Lee, Clint’s wife. She says he is absolutely overwhelmed with our support, even more so than by the events of yesterday. I would like to clarify the events, however. Clint hired as a caterer for the AFP tent which was torn down. He was much more concerned about the others, and particularly helped to get the women out of the tent. It was when he returned to gather his equipment that the taunts and racial slurs began. He says the working people did not respect the working man. He was not there to be political; he was just there to serve. This is the Clint we know and love. Please, let’s respect him and leave our political opinions out of this. This is about our support for Clint.

You know, I am just going to say this; and believe me when I tell you, I am quite serious about this  one: I support the Unions and their right to protest that Governor Rick Snyder lied about not going after the labor movement and I do not much mind people like Steven Crowder getting their jaws jacked for being idiotic tools.

However, I do not support a black man being beaten up and being called an “uncle tom” or even worse the “N-Word,” especially seeing when the man was simply there to serve others and not really even involved with the protest at all. I believe that this one is just a bit too much and goes over the line in a big way.

Of course, the right is going to blame the unions, and this is quite short-sighted in my opinion. The person that should be blamed here is Governor Rick Snyder for picking a fight with the labor movement — and over what? Because the labor movement tried and ultimately failed to get collective bargaining written into the Michigan State Constitution?

I think what needs to happen right now is this: Everyone that reads this blog posting, needs to head to this fundraising page here (LINKED REMOVED GO READ THIS UPDATE!) and give as much as you can afford; and be sure you leave your name and maybe a message to the fact that you are a Union member or supporter; and that you do not support this sort of violence and racism toward a black man.  It is immoral and it never should have ever happened in the name of the labor movement at all, ever.

I might support the labor movement in a big way and the love affair between me and the Republicans might be over. However, I did not leave my moral compass at the divorce court — so to speak. This little incident was wrong and we, as supporters of and/or members of the labor movement can make it right.

A possible way out of this “right to work” mess?

This could be some very good news, hopefully, the unions and the Democrats can pull this one off and quickly:

Today, Governor Rick Snyder is expected to sign “right to work” legislation in Michigan. Obviously, this will constitute a hard blow to organized labor, for a host of reasons, symbolic and practical alike.

But NBC’s Michael O’Brien reports that labor operatives believe they may have it on a new procedural way to force a vote on the legislation. If the major unions avail themselves of this option — and if it pans out legally — this means the Dem threats to turn this into an extended all-out war could come to pass.

Republicans have tried to protect the law from going before the voters by attaching an appropriation to it; spending bills can’t be overturned by legislative referendum in Michigan. But union operatives think there is another mechanism by which the law can be challenged. According to one good government group’s analysis of the state constitution, there exists the option of the “statutory initiative,” which would be forced by the collecting of signatures equal to at least eight percent of the votes cast in the last gubernatorial election.

Will unions and Michigan Democrats avail themselves of this option? Eddie Vale, a spokesman for the labor-funded Workers’ Voice, which played a big role in the Ohio and Wisconsin labor wars, tells me it’s being seriously considered. “The Michigan Constitution allows two other ways to let the people decide this issue on the ballot, and whether it’s one of those options or the 2014 Governor’s election itself, Michiganders will be heard loud and clear,” Vale says. (There may also be another referendum option as well.)

via The Morning Plum: A way out for labor in Michigan?.

This a good thing and hopefully the Democrats use it and the Unions get behind it.
