Marines lose meal, Conservatives lose their ever loving minds about it

I wonder if they would feel the same way if President George W. Bush were still in the White House? I highly doubt it. 🙄

Marines at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan will lose a key daily meal starting Saturday, causing some to forgo a hot breakfast and others to work six-plus hours without refueling on cooked food, according to Marines at the base and Marine Corps officials.

The midnight ration service — known there as “midrats” — supplies breakfast to Marines on midnight-to-noon shifts and dinner to Marines who are ending noon-to-midnight work periods. It’s described as one of the few times the Marines at Leatherneck can be together in one place.

The base, which is located in Afghanistan’s southwestern Helmand Province, flanked by Iran and Pakistan, also will remove its 24-hour sandwich bar. It plans to replace the dishes long offered at midnight with pre-packaged MREs, said Marine Corps Lt. Col. Cliff Gilmore, who has been deployed in Afghanistan since February.

The moves, though unpopular with many Marines on the ground and their families back home, are emblematic of the massive drawdown of American troops in Afghanistan and the dismantling of U.S. military facilities. More than 30,000 U.S. service members will leave Afghanistan in coming months as the U.S. prepares to hand responsibility for security to Afghan forces in 2014.

While no Marine at Camp Leatherneck agreed to speak on the record, many are privately angry about the hit on base morale.

via The drawdown diet: Marines steamed by loss of hot meal at Afghanistan base – World News.

I can almost tell you assuredly that if Bush were in the White House and this sort of a story hit; the unnamed Marines would be derided by the Conservative blogs, Fox News, Drudge, the political talking heads on the radio as some sort of liberals who hated Bush. They would also be mocked as cowards and shouts for their court martial’s would be shouted from the rooftops. However, because a liberal Democrat is in the white house, and because he is black; and over 95% of white people in this Country think he is not an American Citizen; this is some sort of a scandal.

The hypocrisy and predictability of the right anymore is almost funny, if it were not so sad. John McCain’s buddy was right, we are a Nation of whiners.

Howard Dean shows why he will never be President of the United States

This is a disgrace and Howard Dean should be ignored into oblivion.

The Video: (Via HotAir.com)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uaA7RcYGUoM

Money quote from  the video:

“Benghazi is a laughable joke.  Benghazi is a laughable joke … the blaming of the president for that is a ridiculous joke.”

Take it away Gun Benson:

What a sharp, compassionate take from the former DNC Chair and presidential candidate.  Throughout the segment, Dean analyzed the Benghazi massacre through a purely partisan prism, arguing that it has “no traction” (essentially, no one cares — perhaps with a few marginal exceptions) and that Republicans’ persistence in investigating what happened is evidence of “overreach.”  Since he brought up the crude metric of public opinion, I’ll just point out that two new national polls demonstrate: (a)an 87/14 super-majority of Americans view the Benghazi talking points as an important issue, (b) a 59/36 majority now believes the attack could have been prevented, (c) a57/32 majority thinks the administration is still covering something up, and (d) a59/37 majority approves of Republicans’ handling of the controversy.  All that aside, no amount of polling can or should alter the moral correctness of seeking the truth about a terrorist attack that claimed four American lives.  Dean was also asked about the IRS and DOJ affairs.  His verdict: “To call all these things scandals is a little on the silly side.”  He instead harped on the House’s latest attempt to repeal Obamacare — which probably sounds better than ever to many Americans.

I think the only thing is the joke is this Presidential Administration since about, oh, I’d say, about 2008. What’s worse is Howard Dean’s dismissive attitude about four Americans who died serving their Country. Never mind that it was a foreign policy disaster, never mind that they were not properly protected; it’s a joke! 🙄 Wow. The chutzpah of Howard Dean, The Obama Administration and Democrats on the hill is vomit provoking. 😡

What’s more, this is the same people who almost became a parody of themselves, trying to stop the Iraq War claiming that they cared for the troops so much, that they were willing to make themselves look like fools.

Now, the line is, “It’s a laughable joke!” What gall! What elitist limousine liberal, snotty-nose, condescension! 😡

It is an outrage and if middle America is watching this or reading this blog posting; THIS RIGHT HERE is the real Democratic Party! Because, my friends; let’s just be really about, okay? The Democratic Party simply does not give two flips about the people who actually DEFEND the liberties that you and your sons have fought for anymore.  Oh, they will play the part of peaceniks to further a political agenda —- all in the name of caring for and supporting the troops. However, the very minute that it does not serve their political agenda to do so, the Military becomes the outhouse! (So to speak….)

This, my friends, is why I stopped voting Democratic Party in 2008. Because, quite frankly, I saw the light and wised up. This is not to say that the Republican Party is perfect; far, far from it. But, at least they respect the Military and love this Country. Not to mention, let’s just be real — they are honest with the American people, they are not going to promise you any free stuff; unlike the Democrats — who promise the moon, all the while stabbing you in the back! Just ask the UAW how they really feel about Bill Clinton and NAFTA, believe me, you will get an ear full.

Hanoi Jane Fonda to Veterans: “Get a life”

What a bitch!

LOS ANGELES –  When Jane Fonda was cast as former First Lady Nancy Reagan in Lee Daniels’ forthcoming film “The Butler,” some Reagan fans were not pleased. Now, with the biographical due to hit theaters in October, a movement to boycott the movie is gaining some momentum. Larry Reyes, a Navy veteran and founder of the “Boycott Hanoi Jane Playing Nancy Reagan” Facebook page has been particularly vocal about the casting decision, given Fonda’s past frolicking with the enemy during the Vietnam War. “Growing up in a military family I heard my father and uncles talk about what Jane did, so from an early age I knew about her history with the war and how upset veterans were about it. Yet it amazed me that people just turned their backs and kept supporting her exercise videos and movies. I made a commitment early on not to support her projects,” Reyes told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “Then when I heard she was going to play such a well-liked and highly respected president’s wife, it got to me. They (the filmmakers) knew by picking Jane for the part they were going to stir up some stuff. I’m not a conservative or a liberal, I’m an American. And that was a slap in the face.” This week, Fonda had a simple message for Reyes and the page’s fans. “Get a life.” In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Fonda said of her casting: “If it creates hoopla, it will cause more people to see the movie… I figured it would tweak the right. Who cares?” — Jane Fonda tells veterans boycotting her movie ‘The Butler’ to ‘get a life’ | Fox News

The only thing that this ugly woman regrets is that her and her hippy friends attempt to transform American into a fully communist Nation failed.

You know, I hate to be ugly; but I figure if this two-bit hussy of a woman does not care about our Veterans; then I really do not care about being civil. Having said that; I do truly hope that someone tosses a live hand grenade that this woman, when she is walking down the red carpet. Maybe if little Miss Fonda experienced some of the pain and agony that our American soldiers experienced during various wars; all so that this little cunt of a woman could say, “Get a Life”, maybe she would not be so quick, to be that glib and disrespect our Military in that manner.

There are many things that I am fair and open-minded about; wars, politics, and such. But, our United States Military is not one of them. As far as this writer , the insulting and disrespecting of the United States Military is akin to rank treason. Furthermore, if we lived in a sane rational society, these people would be rounded up and tried for treason and spend a nice good few years in re-education camps; if they did not change their treasonous ways, they would be executed. Anyone that is that disrespectful towards our Military does not deserve to live in my book.

I leave you with the following image:

This is the gravesite of my Great-Uncle, John Franklin Hayes. As it says, he fought in World War II. He fought in Germany. He lost a finger tossing a hand grenade at some Germans. It was sewed back on, but he never was able to use it. My Great-Uncle fought to protect this Country and to do his part to stop the axis powers from overthrowing this Country. But yet, Fonda tells people like him; “get a life.”

My friends, something is seriously, seriously wrong with this Country. 😡

It Begins: Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church listed in Army training slide as extremists

This is something to put everyone on alert:

A U.S. Army training instructor listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.

“We find this offensive to have Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church to be listed among known terrorist groups,” said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. “It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.”

Material presented to soldiers at training session.

The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.

The military also listed “Islamophobia” as a form of religious extremism.

via Army Labeled Evangelicals as Religious Extremists | FOX News & Commentary: Todd Starnes.

Of course, when caught, the Army quickly raced to cover its butt:

Army spokesman George Wright told Fox News that this was an “isolated incident not condoned by the Dept. of the Army.”

“This slide was not produced by the Army and certainly does not reflect our policy or doctrine,” he said. “It was produced by an individual without anyone in the chain of command’s knowledge or permission.”

Wright said after the complaint was lodged, the presenter deleted the slide, and apologized.

“We consider the matter closed,” he said.

The incident was made public by a soldier who attended the briefing. He asked for copies of the presentation and sent them to the Chaplain Alliance.

“He considers himself an evangelical Christian and did not appreciate being classified with terrorists,” Crews told Fox News. “There was a pervasive attitude in the presentation that anything associated with religion is an extremist.”

Which is the story they always tell the public, when they do something and get caught doing it. I just wonder how long it will be, if the Lord tarries; before the United States Government will begin rounding up those who dare to read from the King James Version of the Bible and start imprisoning those Pastors who dare to preach that homosexuality is a sin and that abortion is murder. I think it will happen, before the Lord’s return myself. Why with the Anti-Defamation League — a leftist Jew-run organization; doing the bidding of the Obama Administration, it is a wonder now that Fundamentalists like myself are not in prison.

It goes without saying that we are in the last days. Things like this, are going to become more and more prevalent and will the norm eventually. As Jesus said, “Watch ye and Pray.” and that my friends, is all that we can really do. Watch and pray and be about our Father’s business; and wait for his blessed return.

Open message to Mark Steyn: screw you, you Canadian interloper prick

It’s nice to see the neoconservative’s resident wanna-be Kike is still drinking the kool-aid 10 years later:

Ten years ago, along with three-quarters of the American people, including the men just appointed as President Obama’s secretaries of state and defense, I supported the invasion of Iraq. A decade on, unlike most of the American people, including John Kerry and Chuck Hagel, I’ll stand by that original judgment.

via Geopolitical ADHD – Mark Steyn – National Review Online.

For what it is truly worth, I have ADHD and yes I am under a doctor’s care for it. Which is why I tend to want to kick those, who use the term in a glib or condescending way such as this here — square in the damned teeth.

Perhaps Steyn might look into getting his head out of the collective ass of the neoconservative right and check out this piece, which I blogged about earlier.

Sad: A soldier’s dying letter

If this one does not make you misty eyed, nothing ever will. SadCrying

Via AlterNet: (Update: Original found here)

I write this letter on the 10th anniversary of the Iraq War on behalf of my fellow Iraq War veterans. I write this letter on behalf of the 4,488 soldiers and Marines who died in Iraq. I write this letter on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of veterans who have been wounded and on behalf of those whose wounds, physical and psychological, have destroyed their lives. I am one of those gravely wounded. I was paralyzed in an insurgent ambush in 2004 in Sadr City. My life is coming to an end. I am living under hospice care.

I write this letter on behalf of husbands and wives who have lost spouses, on behalf of children who have lost a parent, on behalf of the fathers and mothers who have lost sons and daughters and on behalf of those who care for the many thousands of my fellow veterans who have brain injuries. I write this letter on behalf of those veterans whose trauma and self-revulsion for what they have witnessed, endured and done in Iraq have led to suicide and on behalf of the active-duty soldiers and Marines who commit, on average, a suicide a day. I write this letter on behalf of the some 1 million Iraqi dead and on behalf of the countless Iraqi wounded. I write this letter on behalf of us all—the human detritus your war has left behind, those who will spend their lives in unending pain and grief.

[…]

I would not be writing this letter if I had been wounded fighting in Afghanistan against those forces that carried out the attacks of 9/11. Had I been wounded there I would still be miserable because of my physical deterioration and imminent death, but I would at least have the comfort of knowing that my injuries were a consequence of my own decision to defend the country I love. I would not have to lie in my bed, my body filled with painkillers, my life ebbing away, and deal with the fact that hundreds of thousands of human beings, including children, including myself, were sacrificed by you for little more than the greed of oil companies, for your alliance with the oil sheiks in Saudi Arabia, and your insane visions of empire.

I have, like many other disabled veterans, suffered from the inadequate and often inept care provided by the Veterans Administration. I have, like many other disabled veterans, come to realize that our mental and physical wounds are of no interest to you, perhaps of no interest to any politician. We were used. We were betrayed. And we have been abandoned. You, Mr. Bush, make much pretense of being a Christian. But isn’t lying a sin? Isn’t murder a sin? Aren’t theft and selfish ambition sins? I am not a Christian. But I believe in the Christian ideal. I believe that what you do to the least of your brothers you finally do to yourself, to your own soul.

My day of reckoning is upon me. Yours will come. I hope you will be put on trial. But mostly I hope, for your sakes, that you find the moral courage to face what you have done to me and to many, many others who deserved to live. I hope that before your time on earth ends, as mine is now ending, you will find the strength of character to stand before the American public and the world, and in particular the Iraqi people, and beg for forgiveness.

This letter saddens me to my core. The Republican Party should read this, and really take stock of whom they choose for President of the United States of America. This above is why I started “The Populist” back in 2006. Because I knew what George W. Bush was doing in Iraq was simply wrong. Furthermore, I knew he was moving the goal posts on Iraq as well.

In 2007, my blog was hacked, either by Conservatives who didn’t like me or by hackers from another Country. Either way, by that time, I had began to feel that the Democrats had begun to lose it anyhow. So, I started “Political Byline” for two reasons. One, to continue where I left off with the earlier blog and secondly to go after some of the more idiotic elements of the left. What that blog became, however, was a “Tea Party” blog and sometimes, I sort of regret that. I fully admit, that at time, I got caught up in the furor of Anti-Obama’ism. At some point, I realized that I was not writing what I truly felt, and because of that; I backed away from the right.

In 2011, after President Obama declared, for all intents and purposes, the Iraq War over; I ended Political Byline’s tenure and put it into inactive status. I wrote there for from December of 2007 till October 2011. I fought the fight that I came to fight against. My politics did change a good deal. I never was much of a partisan at all, which was, most likely my downfall. Which might explain why this blog here, is not very popular at all. Sad

I did, however, come to respect what Bush did, and why he did it and I also learned that a good deal of what the liberal left says about Iraq; this letter above being a perfect example of that — was and still is, a big lie. Some of it is true, and some of it; is nothing more than anti-war propaganda.

Still again, I believe that the Republican Party and the Democratic Party both, their leaders; need to read this letter above and really think long and hard about electing a Wilsonian Presidential candidate. Because this above ought to be a textbook example, of why the United States of America should never pursue an Wilsonian foreign policy agenda, ever again.

My thoughts and prayers go to this young man, may he find the peace and comfort; and yes, even rest, that he truly deserves. Praying

I dedicate this video, to ALL of the Military people that we lost in a very, very unpopular war:

Benghazi: What really happened

This is very interesting: (H/T InstaPundit)

David Petraeus was betrayed by his own bodyguards and vengeful high-ranking enemies in the CIA, who made sure his affair with his biographer was exposed to the public, a new book claims.

MailOnline can reveal a new angle on the story that rocked Washington last fall. It comes from two retired special operations commandos – a Navy SEAL and a Green Beret – who say they discovered a plot against the former CIA director while doing research about the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Senior CIA officers targeted Petraeus because they didn’t like the way he was running the agency – focusing more on paramilitary operations than intelligence analysis. They used their political clout and their connections to force an FBI investigation of his affair with Paul Broadwell and make it public, according to ‘Benghazi: The Definitive Report.’

‘It was high-level career officers on the CIA who got the ball rolling on the investigation. It was basically a palace coupe to get Petraeus out of there,’ Jack Murphy, one of the authors, told MailOnline. — Via U.K. DailyMail

Needless to say, this is going to be an explosive book and could bring down people in the Obama Administration.

…and an Military-hating Son-of-a-bitch.

Go Read: Disgusting: Ron Paul attacks murder victim, war hero Chris Kyle; Updated | Twitchy.

I do not link to that site often, and I happen to agree with the Ron Paul’s position on economics; but this was obviously not written by Paul himself, but by some smart alleck staffer. Either way, it was low-class and Paul should apologize for it and fire the staffer involved.

Update: Now a memeorandum thread.

Update #2: I just thought of this, and I figured I would bring it up, before someone else did: Yes, I did vote for Ron Paul in the 2012 primary. I did so, because, then, I felt that Ron Paul was about the only person that I could actually vote for. I did, however, vote for Mitt Romney in the general election. The election that the Republicans lost, because of the stupidity of the Republican Party. Just to clarify: I believe that Ron Paul does have some good ideas on economic policy; it is just his attitude towards this military and towards any sort of foreign policy, outside of isolationism, is simply off-putting; this little remark is a perfect example of that.

New book says My Lai massacre was not an isolated incident

I did kind of suspect this.

The Nation reports:

The My Lai massacre, in which US soldiers gunned down hundreds of unarmed Vietnamese civilians, shocked America and helped turn public opinion against the Vietnam War. Now, a new book by Nick Turse, an Investigative Fund Fellow at The Nation Institute, has revealed that My Lai was not an isolated atrocity: The United States deliberately killed civilians throughout the course of the conflict.

The killing of non-combatants “stemmed from deliberate policies that were dictated at the highest levels of the US military” and was amplified by excessive firepower, Turse said in an interview on NPR’s Fresh Air. The author also recounted how he slept in his car in the National Archives parking lot for several nights in order to copy files on atrocities that were later removed.

Check out the NPR interview:

[powerpress]

I am not quote from the NPR story, go over and read it, please. It make for some seriously riveting reading. This massacre right here, is why I never really cared to go involved with the Military. Because I know that sub-culture very well and it is not a Christian one, I can tell you that much. Another reason was a bullying incident, that happened when I was about 19 years old and working my first job. I really do not want to get into details about it. But, after that happened, I decided I wanted nothing to do with the Military at all.

All I will say about it is this: It is a good thing that I was not armed with a gun, the day that little incident happened. Because if I had been, I would have written this as a former prison convict, who went to jail for second degree murder of two Military recruiters. What happened to me, should never happen to American citizen, who decides that Military is not for them. But, it did, and it made a very lasting impression on a 19-year-old kid, namely me.

Now do you understand?
