Conservative Icon, Defender of Traditional American Values, Phyllis Schlafly dead at age 92

It’s a sad day today. Because Phyllis Schlafly has died at the age of 92. She had cancer.

Eagle Forum possibly attempting to oust Phyllis Schlafly over Trump endorsement

This is an outrage!

WorldNetDaily has the story:

Phyllis Schlafly speaks during an interview in her office Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Clayton, Mo. At 82 the matriarch of the conservative movement is showing no signs of slowing down and is still speaking out against abortion and illegal immigrants, still fighting the Equal Rights Amendment and still a thorn in the side of not only Democrats but of Republicans she sees as leaning too far to the left. NEW YORK – Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly confirmed to WND that six board members of her group Eagle Forum have called a special meeting Monday that she believes is an attempt to remove her as CEO and board chairman because of her support for Donald Trump’s campaign for the White House.

“This may be my Dobson moment,” Schlafly told WND, referring to allegations that James Dobson was pushed out of the organization he founded, Focus on the Family.

“The six board members calling today’s telephone meeting won’t tell me what the meeting is about, but I think it’s an attempt to vote me out,” Schlafly said. “It’s disloyal and it’s terribly shocking, and I’m completely depressed about it.

“I may be one vote short to win today,” she conceded.

The meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Central Time.

Asked for reaction to the development, Trump gave a brief statement to WND through his campaign staff.

“Phyllis is one of the most respected conservative leaders in the country, who helped form the conservative movement, and I am incredibly grateful for her continued support,” Trump said.

Along with her support of Trump, her six opponents on the board have cited her opposition to the so-called “Con-Con Movement,” a push to get 34 states to vote for an Article V constitutional convention with the aim of adding a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“I think the Con-Con issue is really diversionary,” she said. “I’ve always been against Con-Con, from the very first the time the idea was raised. Everybody knows that.”

Schlafly said the board meeting was called by only three members, and Eagle Forum lawyers are arguing that three members are not enough, according to the by-laws, to call a meeting of the board.

“This is a complete takeover attempt,” she said.

“I think the leader of the coup is my daughter Anne Cori and her husband at Eagle Forum of Missouri,” Schlafly said. “I think she and her husband want to take over the organization.”

Her son John Schlafly, the treasurer of Eagle Forum and a board member, explained to WND that among the six board members calling the meeting are several “who feel Donald Trump is unacceptable as the GOP presidential candidate in 2016.”

Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Trump March 11.

The fact that it is her own daughter makes it even worse. I can tell you this; Phyllis Schlafly is the Eagle Forum. If these people, including her daughter do this, the Eagle Forum will fold and collapse like wet cardboard. Because what will happen, Phyllis Schlafly will get the word out about this, as she already has and donations to the non-profit will dry up like a small creek bed in the desert. I do believe that these board members have gotten a bit to drunk with the power that they have and they should resign and start another organization.

It is a awful shame that something as simple as a Presidential endorsement would be allowed to destroy a great institution of Conservative Christian principles as Eagle Forum. These 6 people ought to rot in the Devil’s hell for this little stunt. 😡

Karl Rove is making friends as always

Yes, the title is sarcastic in nature. It seems that old “turd blossom” is causing Conservatives to lose their minds again.

Phyllis Schlafly and Mike Huckabee are not happy with him at all.

It seems that Rove made a very crass joke about Todd Akin, who did make a bit of an idiotic statement about rape. Anyhow, Schlafly is not happy at all, from her Eagle Forum blog:

Karl Rove has made himself toxic to Republicans by his incredibly offensive and dangerous statement suggesting the murder of Congressman Todd Akin of Missouri. Any candidate or network who hires Rove will now be tarnished with this most malicious remark ever made in Republican politics.

Just imagine if someone had made that statement about Barack Obama. The Secret Service would go on Red Alert and you can bet that the author of that remark would be in jail by now. As quoted by a Businessweek reporter and now on the internet, Rove in Tampa told some 70 big donors to his Super PAC, American Crossroads, that every attendee should apply pressure to “sink Todd Akin” and force him out of the Senate race for which Missourians had nominated him. Then Rove said that if Akin were “found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts.”

This stunning attack on Akin is now reported as a joke. Sorry, Karl, it isn’t funny to joke about murdering a Congressman.

Rove has disliked Akin ever since Akin was one of the principled members of the U.S. House who voted against George W. Bush’s extravagant expansion of Medicare when the vote was called at 5:53 am in November 2003. Akin is a man of principle who doesn’t cave in to political pressure, so he’s not Rove’s kind of politician.

Rove tried to excuse his obscene joke by saying he would not have said it if he had known a reporter was in the room. That makes his statement worse! Is murder the kind of secret political advice Rove gives to Republican donors and candidates who hire him?

A private phone call by Rove to Akin to sort of apologize does not erase the public offense. At the very least Rove should make a public apology. But even that can’t wipe out his gross political mistake.

Karl Rove is an embarrassment to the Republican Party. We don’t want any more of his advice in secret briefings or publicly on Fox News. Missourians don’t want politicians from other states telling us who to run for the Senate.

Ouch. Now before any dismisses her as some angry old bitty, Schlafly happens to be one the very “old school” Pre-Reagan-era Conservatives. She goes back to the Barry Goldwater era and she does carry some influence in the Republican Party.

Even Mike Huckabee was not to happy with it either, while not as harsh as Schlafly, he also spoke out against Rove’s remarks:

If making a foolish remark about rape is bad, then making a joke about a United States Congressman being murdered is as bad or worse since Akin didn’t wish anyone to be raped, just spoke awkwardly and incorrectly about the likelihood of pregnancy in the event of a rape. In light of the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, the remark was disturbing.

[…]

….Todd erred, apologized, and we need to help him win, not convince ourselves he can’t. Karl erred, apologized, and we need to treat him in the way we want Todd Akin to be treated. If Todd is continued to be alienated and Karl doesn’t suffer the same fate, then I will encourage all the activists I can to spend all their time, money, and effort in Missouri. If the party doesn’t want us, then I guess they don’t need us. Akin will. Janet and I are sending him the maximum we can under federal law.

To me, there is nothing more awesome, than watching the Conservative grassroots stand up to the Republican Party establishment. Especially, people like Karl Rove; who is the perfect example of what was wrong with the Republican Party between 2000 and 2008.  The sad thing is, that there are indications that the Republican Party might be making the same mistakes again. I would hope that this would not be the case; but it does look that way.

I will say this, if the Republican Party and Mitt Romney do go the way of big Government Conservatism again; this blogger will be there, fighting them every step of the way. I will write about it here on this blog. I will not let them get away with it, you can count on that.

Chuck Baldwin minces no words about Paul Ryan

I have to like Chuck Baldwin, he does not mince words:

It has happened again. We go through this every four years, and every four years the vast majority of “conservatives” fall for it. This is such a broken record. What did Forrest Gump say: “Stupid is as stupid does”? And wasn’t it P.T. Barnum who said, “There’s a sucker born every minute”? Well, here we go again.

Neocon RINO George H.W. Bush picks “conservative” Dan Quayle. “Conservative” G.W. Bush picks neocon RINO Dick Cheney. Neocon RINO John McCain picks “conservative” Sarah Palin. Now, neocon RINO Mitt Romney picks “conservative” Paul Ryan. As long as there is one “conservative” on the ticket, mushy-headed “conservatives” across the country will go into a gaga, starry-eyed, hypnotic trance in support of the Republican ticket. I’m convinced that if Lucifer, himself, was the GOP Presidential candidate, he would get the support of the Religious Right and Republican “conservatives” as long as he selected a reputed “conservative” to join his ticket. And, by the way, the notable “conservative” wouldn’t think twice about joining such a ticket, either, I’m convinced.

Let’s just get this on the record: since 1960, there have only been two Presidential nominees (from the two major parties) who were not controlled by the globalist elitists. One was a Democrat, John F. Kennedy; the other was a Republican, Ronald Reagan. Kennedy was shot and killed; Reagan was shot. Every other President, Democrat or Republican, has been totally controlled, which is why none of them have done diddly-squat to make a difference in the direction of the country. On the issues that really matter, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are just more of the same!

via Chuck Baldwin — Paul Ryan: More Of The Same.

He goes on to say that Ron Paul is the only one; and I disagree with that. However, I will say this; he is right about Romney and Ryan. Which is I am voting for:

Goode/Clymer in 2012

He will not win the election

But voting for anything else is simply Anti-American

Phyllis Schlafly says, “The UN Is Bad News for the U.S.”

The audio:

[podcast]http://www.eagleforum.org/radio/3min/audio/2012/aug12/08-17-12.mp3[/podcast]

The Story:

The news has leaked out that an obscure, secretive UN agency called the World Intellectual Property Organization or WIPO shipped sophisticated U.S. computer equipment to Iran and North Korea despite UN and U.S. sanctions against both those governments. U.S. policy is to block their development of nuclear weapons so they won’t be able to fire nuclear bombs at us. In addition to being a major threat to U.S. security, these UN shipments violated the restrictions of the equipment manufacturer, Hewlitt-Packard, which forbids any HP equipment from being sent to such regimes.

The shipment to Iran included 20 Hewlitt-Packard desktop computers that will give Iran significant computing power. The shipments to North Korea also included sophisticated computers.

Let’s face it. The United Nations is not only NOT our friend; the UN is our enemy. It’s time to say goodbye and kick all those overpaid anti-American bureaucrats out of their preferential real estate in New York City.

via Eagle Forum Blog: The UN Is Bad News for the U.S..

I known and felt this way for years about the United Nations. I suggest you go read the rest of this and give the commentary above a listen.
