Gingrich sails into lead

Via PPP:

Newt Gingrich has taken the lead in PPP’s national polling.  He’s at 28% to 25% for Herman Cain and 18% for Mitt Romney.  The rest of the Republican field is increasingly looking like a bunch of also rans: Rick Perry is at 6%, Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul at 5%, Jon Huntsman at 3%, and Gary Johnson and Rick Santorum each at 1%.

Compared to a month ago Gingrich is up 13 points, while Cain has dropped by 5 points and Romney has gone down by 4.  Although a fair amount of skepticism remains about the recent allegations against Cain there is no doubt they are taking a toll on his image- his net favorability is down 25 points over the last month from +51 (66/15) to only +26 (57/31). What is perhaps a little more surprising is that Romney’s favorability is at a 6 month low in our polling too with only 48% of voters seeing him favorably to 39% with a negative opinion.
PrimaryGraph

Gingrich’s lead caps an amazing comeback he’s made over the last 5 months.  In June his favorability nationally with Republican voters plummeted all the way to 36/49. Now he’s at 68/23, representing a 58 point improvement in his spread since then. As recently as August Gingrich was mired in single digits at 7%, and even in September he was at just 10%.  He’s climbed 18 points in less than 2 months.

There’s reason to think that if Cain continues to fade, Gingrich will continue to gain.  Among Cain’s supporters 73% have a favorable opinion of Gingrich to only 21% with a negative one. That compares to a 33/55 spread for Romney with Cain voters and a 32/53 one for Perry.  They like Gingrich a whole lot more than they do the other serious candidates in the race.

Which means, I will be voting libertarian. Sorry, I am not voting for that creep; period, end of story.

Herman Cain whiffs badly…

I’m with Pam here, this just looks bad.

Via JSonline:

and….

He just isn’t ready. He just does not have the mental ability to be a President.

Thanks for trying Herman; but we need someone who’s a bit more on the ball.

Fifth woman now accusing Cain of bad behavior

Remember earlier, when I said this whole thing just went Kookie with Herman Cain?

Forget that, it’s well beyond that now; it’s serious. This guy should not be nowhere near any place that has any sort of a female staff.

The Washington Examiner reports: (H/T HotAir Headlines)

A former employee of the United States Agency for International Development says Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain asked her to help arrange a dinner date for him with a female audience member following a speech he delivered nine years ago.

Donna Donella, 40, of Arlington, said the USAID paid Cain to deliver a speech to businessmen and women in Egypt in 2002, during which an Egyptian businesswoman in her 30s asked Cain a question.

“And after the seminar was over,” Donella told The Washington Examiner, “Cain came over to me and a colleague and said, ‘Could you put me in touch with that lovely young lady who asked the question, so I can give her a more thorough answer over dinner?'”

Donella, who no longer works for USAID, said they were suspicious of Cain’s motives and declined to set up the date. Cain responded, “Then you and I can have dinner.” That’s when two female colleagues intervened and suggested they all go to dinner together, Donella said.

Cain exhibited no inappropriate sexual behavior during the dinner, though he did order two $400 bottles of wine and stuck the women with the bill, she said.

The next time the women heard from Cain was Christmas, when he sent them his gospel CD.

Donella said she felt it was important to describe her encounter with Cain after hearing more serious allegations of sexual harassment brought by other women.

“I couldn’t swear that he had some untoward intentions, but we all thought his tone was suspect and we didn’t feel comfortable putting him in touch with that woman,” Donella recalled.

I am beginning to believe that Mr. Cain needs to do something here and quick; or he simply needs to stop and go home. This not only looks bad for him; but it is really hurting the image of the Republican Party. I liked this man, when he first started; but I will be the first to tell you, I am having serious doubts about him now. I will also say this. I have seen Herman Cain’s reaction to these stories so far; and I am not sure I like his attitude about them.

I also happen to agree with Tim Carney, we should not play the race on Herman Cain at all; because that is what the left wants; if Herman Cain cannot defend himself or refuses to do so and gives the impression that he is being picked on, because he is black —- then he needs to get out of the race, period, end of story. —- that is what would happened to someone if they were white, so why should not Herman Cain be able to run by the rules? Herman Cain should not be treated any differently than anyone else, just because he is black and Conservative. Although, between you and me, Herman Cain’s Conservatism, especially along the social line, is in serious question.

Russia’s Foreign Minister to Israel: You attack Iran and you will regret it

Bible Prophecy in the making………….

Via the U.K. Telegraph:

In comments published in the Israeli daily Hayom, Mr Peres said that “the possibility of a military attack against Iran is now closer to being applied than the application of a diplomatic option”.

“We must stay calm and resist pressure so that we can consider every alternative,” he added.
The drumbeat of war is expected to grow louder this week when United Nations nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, issues its most detailed report to date on nuclear research in Iran.
It will provide what Western officials and experts regard as irrefutable evidence that Tehran is compiling the capacity and skills to build a bomb. It will be used as leverage for a fifth round of sanctions at the UN, but could also provide Israel, with the tacit support of Washington, to finalise plans for an air strike.
Among its findings are that Tehran was helped by nuclear experts from two countries, believed to be Russia and Pakistan. The Washington Post reported that key assistance was provided by Vyacheslav Danilenko, a former Soviet nuclear scientist, hired by Iran’s Physics Research Centre.

Documents handed over to UN officials showed that he had worked for the Iranians for at least five years, giving lectures and sharing his expertise on developing and testing an explosives package that the Iranians have now succeeded in making part of their blueprint for a nuclear warhead.

Moscow, the closest thing Iran has to a big power ally, is deeply opposed to any military action against the Islamic republic, though Moscow has supported UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran.

“This would be a very serious mistake fraught with unpredictable consequences,” said Mr Lavrov, addressing reporters in Moscow. “Military intervention only leads to a multiple rise in casualties and human suffering.”

Looks like the old school Fundamentalists and dispensationalists, like C.I. Scofield were correct in their feelings years ago; when they said that a move on Israel, by Russia would happen, which would bring forth the second advent of Christ. First, however, the rapture of the Church must happen first. Look up my fellow believers, for your redemption draws near.

On the video of Judge beating his daughter

Yes, I have watched the entire video and yes,I have something to say about it.  I am ofcourse referring to the CNN storyof the Texas judge who beat his child with a belt for some very stupid reasons.
Firstly, let me say this, as a Conservative Christian; I cantell you with absolute authority that this was NOT, I repeat, NOTa form of Christian Discipline!  Thenormal routine of Christian discipline is to explain to the child what he orshe has done wrong, pray with the child and then, if a parent decides to —-spank the child.  What is in this video, which I will never embed here, because it makes me so angry to watch, is twoparents abusing a child for some very stupid and backward reasons.  What I saw in that video, what I was actuallyable to watch —- quite literally made me shake with anger!
What is in that video is two angry parents, who obviouslysuffer from some sort of mental issues —beating, swearing at, and berating theirdaughter.  Let me stress again, and Icannot put into words how much I wish to stress this; that this video is not avideo of normal Christian discipline!  Itis a video of child abuse and if I were a Pastor of a Church and I even got aremote wind of a video of this nature; I would be on the phone with the localpolice department.
The reason why this video sends me into a rage is that thosewho are not Christian or at least not active in a Church believe that ALLChristians believe that discipline is to be carried out like this!  Let me state emphatically, that under nocircumstances is this ever the case. These parents are punishing their child, while they are angry, they areswearing at the child, which is NOT, I repeat, NOTChristian discipline!  This is outrageouscase of awful child abuse and I am very shocked that someone, namely thedaughter did not report it earlier.  The Fatherof this child should be in a jail cell for child abuse!
Again, I will state it as plainly as I possibly can — Thisis not discipline — This is abuse!  The man and woman who did this should becharge with first degree child abuse and put into a jail cell where theybelong!

Is there anymore proof needed that President Obama is NOT a Christian?

I mean, good grief; how much more plainer should he get about it?

From The Hill:

President Obama invoked God on Wednesday as he criticized Congress for voting on commemorative coins and a resolution reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the national motto in all public buildings, public schools and other government institutions.

“That’s not putting people back to work,” Obama said. “I trust in God, but God wants to see us help ourselves by putting people to work.”

Obama called on Congress to approve his jobs package.

“There’s no excuse for 100 percent of Washington Republicans to say no,” Obama said. “That means Republicans in Washington are out of touch with Republican voters.”

Obama continued: “The American people are with me on this.”

The House on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a measure reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the national motto. The resolution was supported by all House Democratic leaders, including Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.). It attracted only nine “no” votes, eight from Democrats. The only Republican who opposed it was freshman Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.). Two Democrats, Reps. Keith Ellison (Minn.) and Mel Watt (N.C.), voted “present.”

Rep. Randy Forbes (R-Va.), the sponsor of the measure, said the resolution is necessary to remind Obama and other public officials who forget the motto, whether intentionally or not.

“Unfortunately, there are a number of public officials who forget what the national motto is, whether intentionally or unintentionally,” Forbes said Tuesday. “There are those who become confused as to whether or not it can still be placed on our buildings, whether it can be placed in our school classrooms.”

Anyone who speaks of the Almighty God in this manner, has zero business being in the White House. Remember this come the 2012 election.
