I believe this to be a very important project that every free American should be involved with, especially those who are worried about illegal immigration.

As a former left-of-center blogger; I find this very, very interesting….
In the early 2000s progressive blogging seemed like a big deal. At the first Yearly Kos, as it was called then, big name politicians came and kissed our ass. We were covered by major newspaper and TV outlets. Etc…
Today, we are nothing.
The reason is simple: we could not elect enough of our people. We could not instill sufficient fear. We could not defeat incumbents. We did not produce juice. Clark and Dean didn’t win the 2004 Presidential nomination. Dean was taken out in a particularly nasty fashion (via the manufactured Dean Scream.)
via A brief note on why the progressive blog movement failed | Ian Welsh.
Update: I feel the need to nitpick a little bit:
The Tea Party, say what you will about them, gets a great deal of obeisance from Republicans for one simple reason: they will primary you if they don’t like how you’ve been voting, and they’ll probably win that primary. They are feared. Progressives are not feared, because they do not believe enough in their ostensible principles to act on them in an effective fashion.
Meh, Eh…. Meh….. I don’t know how much the Republican Party, fears the Tea Party movement. Now the establishment types; oh yes, they worry, quite a bit. However, I do not look for the Tea Party “power”, if you will — to last much longer at all. Ted Cruz’s little shutdown drama, might have backfired a bit. There are some pretty ticked off people in the ranks of the GOP; namely Business types. There are some establishment type PAC’s firing up, that might end up going after some of the Tea Party darlings.
What happened was this, Ted Cruz and the House Republicans made one glaring oversight. They forgot that there is two different wings of the Republican Party. There is a the grassroots, populist wing and then, there is the other wing of the party, which donates the most money — the big and small and medium size business that give OOODLES of money to the GOP —- and they ain’t happy one bit. This might be a problem for Cruz and his Tea Party friends in the house. 2014 will tell that story, trust me.
Plus too, there are a few other reasons why Blogging isn’t what it was:
Also too:
The turning point was when Joe Lieberman, though defeated in a primary, managed to be elected anyway. After the 2006 House capture by Democrats, Pelosi’s democrats betrayed the fundamental principles that the prog blogosphere stood for: they did nothing to stop the war, for example. The Prog blogosphere took it, and worse, most of the blogs that did come out against House Democratic Vichy behaviour, lost audience. (Yes, they did. I tracked this stuff carefully at the time.)
None of which was the fault Progressives blogosphere. You can lead ’em to the watering hole; but you can’t make ’em drink. You guys did your jobs. Not your fault the Democrats sold you all out. Just my opinion.

A problem with trophies is that they tend to tarnish over time. But one that Monsanto recently received came already tarnished – by Monsanto itself.
This was the World Food Prize, intended to promote sustainable practices that help alleviate hunger in impoverished lands. But Monsanto is a predatory, profiteering proliferator of expensive, genetically-altered seeds designed for crops that require large amounts of pesticides and water – the exact opposite of sustainability!
Why in the world would it get such a prize? Because Monsanto is a major funder of the foundation that awards this trophy. It even contributed $5 million to restore the foundation’s august headquarters in Iowa. So, having given, Monsanto got.
The biotech seed manipulator had hoped the prize would help transform its corporate image from an abusive peddler of Frankenseeds to an altruistic crusader against global hunger. In particular, it wants the Catholic Church to bless its effort to hook poor, Third World farmers on its pricy, pesticide-dependent seeds. Monsanto hopes that a World Food Prize will buff its image and impress the Vatican.
But that might be a harder sell than the giant first imagined, for – hello – there’s a new guy in Rome, and he seems a bit wary of the worldly intentions of the Big, Rich & Powerful. In fact, Pope Francis could’ve had Monsanto in mind earlier this year when he declared: “The worship of the golden calf of old has found a new and heartless image in the cult of money and the dictatorship of an economy which is faceless and lacking any truly humane goal.”
Ironically, the only one getting an image makeover was the foundation, which has rather grandly tried to label its award the “Nobel Prize for Agriculture.” But selling it to the profiteer, however, they turned the trophy into the “Ignoble Prize.”

My reply to this little quote of idiocy below:
That strikes me as quite right. In a region filled with despots and massive violations of human rights, Israel is the great, shining exception. Indeed, based on the evidence all around us, it is clear that Israel, more than any nation on earth, is held not simply to a double standard but to an impossible standard. Its own sacrifices for peace, which exceed those of any other country, are constantly overlooked even as the brutal acts of its enemies are excused. (I offer a very brief historical account of things here.)
Israel is far from perfect—but it is, in the totality of its acts, among the most estimable and impressive nations in human history. Its achievements and moral accomplishments are staggering—which is why, in my judgment, evangelical Christians should keep faith with the Jewish state. Set aside for now one’s view about the end times and God’s covenantal relationship with Israel. Israel warrants support based on the here and now; on what it stands for and what it stands against and what its enemies stand for and against; and for reasons of simple justice. What is required to counteract the anti-Israel narrative and propaganda campaign is a large-scale effort at education, not simply with dry facts but in a manner that tells a remarkable and moving story. That captures the moral imagination of evangelicals, most especially young evangelicals.
I’m sure some evangelical Christians would appreciate it if more American Jews showed more gratitude toward them for their support of Israel over the years. But frankly that matters very little to me, and here’s why: What ought to decide where one falls in this debate on Israel are not the shadows but the sunlight. On seeing history for what it is rather than committing a gross disfigurement of it. And on aligning one’s views, as best as one can, with truth and facts, starting with this one: The problem isn’t with Israel’s unwillingness to negotiate or even any dispute over territory (Israel has repeatedly proved it is willing to part with land for real peace); it is with the Palestinians’ unwillingness to make their own inner peace with the existence of a Jewish state
via Israel and Evangelical Christians « Commentary Magazine.
To the above I will simply say this: It is pretty hard to take Israel and it’s supporters seriously, when they go around saying that Obama should drop a nuke in the middle of the Iranian desert. Zionists have played the Evangelical Christian community as fools since the end of World War 2. In fact, today, even most Fundamentalist Christians are conned into the Zionist cottage industry. Not this Fundamentalist. 😡
The only thing I ever want from the Zionist Jewish community is to hear that they have, en mass, rejected the law of Moses; and have come to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. See the Gospel tract below:
Otherwise, I have nothing to say and want nothing to do with them, as they are, according to my Bible, infidels. I say this, because my Bible says it:
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV)
The Word Infidel:
Infidel
IN’FIDEL, a. [L. infidelis; in and fidelis; faithful.]Unbelieving; disbelieving the inspiration of the Scriptures, or the divine institution of christianity.
The infidel writer is a great enemy to society.
IN’FIDEL, n. One who disbelieves the inspiration of the Scriptures, and the divine origin of christianity. —- Source: Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary of American English
I use the following to submit to my readers that Christian Zionism is nothing more than an unholy alliance between Christians and Jews. This was taught before World War 2, and was practiced in the Fundamentalist Christian Churches of the 1940’s and early 50’s. That is, until the Frankfurt School mindset began to take root in the Christian world.
When that happened, the Christian world began to compromise, and take up the Jewish cause. We true believers have nothing, at all; in common with the Jewish people. They are the ones who bought Jesus Christ to a rigged trial; and couldn’t even agree on the accusations against him — they are the ones who ordered the Romans to carry out his death sentence, and they are the ones that will pay the final price for being the devil’s useful idiots.
I leave you with this and believe me folks, this is coming…..one day:
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
(Revelation 1:7 KJV)
and….:
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
(Revelation 6:2 KJV)And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:11-21 KJV)
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15 KJV)
That is the result of the Jews who have rejected Jesus Christ as the Messiah of all Mankind.
But first, this must happen:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 KJV)
In closing, I simply say these words:
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:20 KJV)
Amen.
Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of the United Nations. However, I believe this to be a noble thing to do.

AMY GOODMAN: Ben Emmerson, finally, you’ve called on Britain and the U.S. to release confidential reports into the countries’ involvement in the kidnapping and torture of terrorism suspects, accusing them of years of official denials. Can you expand on that?
BEN EMMERSON: Yes, I presented in my last report to the Human Rights Council a series of principles on accountability for what are described in international law as gross or systemic human rights violations. And I think that there’s no doubt that the conspiracy that involved the commission of acts of secret detention, torture and rendition under the Bush administration constitute gross and systematic human rights violations. And international law is clear on this. There is no superior orders defense. There is no principle that would justify—just as at the Nuremberg trials there was no principle that would allow someone to say, “Well, this is what was ordered by my officials.” There must be—international law requires that there be—a system for achieving accountability.
And we know that the Feinstein Senate committee report into the activities of the CIA is said to be a very thorough and comprehensive analysis and to identify who made the decisions, who committed the acts alleged, and where and how and why. And a crucial part of the duty of accountability under international law is the so-called right to truth. And that’s a right that’s not just belonging to the victims, but to society at large. And, therefore, I mean, the time has come, unequivocally, for the release of the Feinstein report. I mean, if there have to be particular redactions in order to protect the identity of operatives from reprisals, so be it. But the key findings of the Feinstein report and of a parallel report commissioned and prepared and provided to the British prime minister in relation to the United Kingdom’s involvement in these activities must now be made public. And we will not stop calling for the publication of this material until at least a sufficient amount of it has been put into the public domain.
AMY GOODMAN: Ben Emmerson, I want to thank you for being with us, U.N. special rapporteur on human rights and counterterrorism, has issued an interim report on his investigation into U.S. drone strikes and targeted killings. His findings, along with a report by the U.N. special rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, will be debated today at the U.N. General Assembly. This is Democracy Now!, democracynow.org, The War and Peace Report.
Again, while U.N. isn’t really something I am too fond off, as a Conservative. I have come to accept it; and think that doing things like the above, is a very good idea. Like it or not; the Bush Administration made some seriously bad mistake during the war, and in the attempt to get information for more terrorist attacks after 9/11, crossed some constitutional lines. Here is hoping that the parties involved are held accountable.
By rights, they SHOULD be held accountable by the United States Government; but we all know that will never happen. The US Democrats do not have the guts to pursue justice. This my friends, is a great American tragedy.
You might want to read the following items, before you vote.
I am not much into political hit pieces; but this stuff is quite serious.
I happen to disagree with Joseph Farah on Zionism and Wilsonian foreign policy. But, when it comes to stuff like this below, he is right on target.
Quote:
I think I might have been wrong about same-sex marriage.
When I have written about this phenomenon and discussed it and debated it in recent years, I have stated unequivocally that it is something new – not seen anywhere or at any time in the history of humankind.
But now I have reason to doubt that.
There may indeed have been a time in man’s history when it was practiced.
It wasn’t in ancient Greece.
It wasn’t in Sodom and Gomorrah.
It wasn’t in Rome.
It wasn’t in Babylon.
But it may have been routine in the days of Noah, just before the flood.
I am hardly a student of the Talmud, part of the oral tradition of Orthodox Judaism. I don’t believe it is the inspired word of God. But it is, nonetheless, a historical record. According to two notable experts, the Babylonian Talmud says that same-sex marriage was prevalent just before the Great Flood of Noah.
Jeffrey Satinover, who holds an MD from Princeton and doctorates from Yale, MIT and Harvard, has made the point that the Midrash Rabbah Genesis suggests such activity represented the last straw before God unleashed the floodwaters to destroy the Earth. He is backed up by Rabbi Aryeh Spero of New York.
But it’s not just conservative scholars and rabbis who see that message in the Talmud. Indeed, a feminist academic from Brandeis University, Gail Labovitz, senior research analyst for the Feminist Sexual Ethics Project, dealt with this issue in a recent paper.
Not only did men marry men and women marry women in the days of Noah, but they wrote marriage contracts for those relationships, just as the world is doing today.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised is the rabbis were right.
Could this have been what Jesus was referring to in Matthew 24:37-39, when He said: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took all of them away; so shall the coming of the Son of man be.”
If that’s what Jesus had in mind, it doesn’t bode well for nations practicing this abomination today. But, as He suggests, it may very well be another sign that He is “at the door.”
I know. I know. You don’t believe Jesus is the Son of God – the Savior of the world, the Messiah. You don’t believe the Bible is God’s inspired word. You don’t believe a flood actually destroyed the world more than 4,000 years ago.
It really doesn’t matter what you believe about those things. It only matters what God believes. It only matters what is true. Opinions don’t count when it comes to God’s rules. Only obedience and repentance matter.
Some of my fellow Fundamentalist Baptists like to go around talking about revival in the land. I personally believe that we are well beyond that point; as I believe that ship sailed long ago. Judgement is coming, and swiftly to this Country. Also too, the rapture of the Church is nigh. Be ready, only thing I can tell you.
If you’re wondering what I am talking about; take a gander at the gospel tract below:

For what it is truly worth, that tract was written in the early 1980’s as “The Escape!” and then updated in 1991, and renamed to “The Great Escape!” But, the truth is still there.
Again, all this talk about some sort of a revival is bunk. We heading straight for judgement. When sin and immorality are look upon as normal and people like me; and Joe Farah are look at as somehow being abnormal — something is horribly wrong with America. The Lord is not happy about it either.
Get ready, His coming draweth nigh.
