The Saturday Afternoon Music Express Presents: Chicago Live 1972

After the week I’ve had, I am in need of some good music.

This is from 1972. This is Chicago Transit Authority.

http://youtu.be/zWKtVzzWo4U

This is from an era, when the city of Chicago was actually worth a darn and not the leftist swamp it is now.

Although, some of the songs in this video are quite leftist in nature, “We can make it happen” being a perfect example — it is still good music.

Also too, please note: This video features the late, great, Terry Kath, who was tragically killed in a gun-related accident;  just 6 years after this video was filmed.

Enjoy and please, enjoy the weekend! 😀

But, We’re just supposed to trust this Government? Please.

Your Big Government at work again:

The National Security Agency has broken privacy rules or overstepped its legal authority thousands of times each year since Congress granted the agency broad new powers in 2008, according to an internal audit and other top-secret documents.

Most of the infractions involve unauthorized surveillance of Americans or foreign intelligence targets in the United States, both of which are restricted by statute and executive order. They range from significant violations of law to typographical errors that resulted in unintended interception of U.S. e-mails and telephone calls.

The documents, provided earlier this summer to The Washington Post by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, include a level of detail and analysis that is not routinely shared with Congress or the special court that oversees surveillance. In one of the documents, agency personnel are instructed to remove details and substitute more generic language in reports to the Justice Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

But, people like me who believe that big Government is bad government are called crazy, racists, and all sorts of other names. 🙄

You see, unlike the Neocons; of which I am not a part of, nor will I ever be — who only distrust the Government, when a neo-liberal Democrat is in office, but when a Neoconservative is running the show, everything is fine. I distrust the Government no matter WHO is in charge, that is because I happen to know the damned thing is corrupt, from the bottom to the top.

Also too, because I, like Pat Buchanan, happen to know that there is not much different between both beltway parties anymore. Both love Big Government, both love Globalism, and Both love stomping on the United States Constitution. Something they’ve done for years.

Unreal: Black woman sics dogs on white reporter

The back story is at WND.com.  You’ll have to go there to watch the video, as it will not embed on my blog for some reason.

Shocked? Surprised? I’m not. Click here to see what blacks did to derail my career

A bit of good news is this from WND.com:

“Get the **** away from my house,” shouted Ms. Lawrence. “You dumb white b****. Put that on the news.”

Lawrence was arrested the following day and charged with felony assault.

Quite frankly, I am amazed that media outlets, like this one here; are not sending reporters out with armed protectors. This is a good reason as to why.

Best thing written on Egypt in a while

This is so right:

It might have seemed clever to withhold judgment on the July coup and try to nudge the military towards a return to elected government, but this was interpreted by all sides as a positive endorsement of the coup and confirmation that there was nothing that the Egyptian military did that would trigger the suspension of aid. The attempt to retain “leverage” confirmed that the U.S. never really had any. The U.S. can’t constructively influence what the Egyptian military and its interim government do, and it should stop pretending that it can. This isn’t going to remedy any of Egypt’s ills, but it would be the first step in acknowledging that it is beyond the ability of the U.S. government to remedy them. In the meantime, it does nothing but harm America’s reputation to be backing a coup government that kills civilian protesters in the streets. It costs the U.S. very little to end that support, and it gains the U.S. nothing but grief to continue the status quo.

This is so very true. We are funding these idiotic feuds, like the one between Israel and Palestine. We need to stop this and start focusing on rebuilding our own economy.  This uprising in Egypt should be a textbook example of why Wilsonian foreign policy simply does not work. The quicker the United States figures this out, the better.

I couldn’t have put it better myself if I tried.

He’s so right.

If you pull the lever for Hillary in 2016, knowing what we know about Benghazi and her role in the death of 4 Americans, you’re a fucking traitor to this country, and I hope bad things befall you, because you are a morally bankrupt asswipe.

via REVEALED: 400 US surface-to-air missiles were ‘STOLEN’ from Libya during the Benghazi attack » UrbanGrounds.

He is talking about this stuff here. But, he’s right. If the Democrats allow Shillary to run in 2016, then they deserve the ass whipping that they are going to get at the polls.

If I were Democrat and this was being reported, I would be very, very, worried.

To my union friends who happen to read this; (and yes, there are quite a few that do…) between this and what the Clinton’s did in the 1990’s with NAFTA and TAFTA ought to be enough reason to pass on this woman’s bid for President.

Go figure: Oprah is being called a liar about her racism accusations

What? Black people lying about racism? That would never happen, blacks never lie about such a thing! Except when they really do, believe me, I know all about that.

The sales assistant who refused to show U.S. talkshow billionaire Oprah Winfrey a luxury handbag costing nearly £25,000 claims the superstar lied about what happened in the luxury Swiss boutique where she works.

Speaking anonymously to Sunday newspaper SonntagsBlick, the Italian bag lady said she felt ‘powerless’ and in the grip of a ‘cyclone’ after Winfrey went on TV in America to claim she had been the victim of racism.

This is the consequences of having protected races and ethnicities. The ones who are protected will ALWAYS take advantage of that protection; this is a classic example of such a thing.  Blacks and those of supposed affiliation with Israel are most suspect to this sort of a thing.

10 years after blackout the grid still isn’t safe.

I saw this and I thought it merited comment:

The U.S. electrical grid is better managed and more flexible a decade after its largest blackout but remains vulnerable to increasingly extreme weather, cybersecurity threats, and stress caused by shifts in where and how power is produced.

Many worry the grid isn’t fully prepared for the new and emerging challenges, even though an analysis conducted for The Associated Press shows maintenance spending has steadily increased since North America’s largest blackout.

“This job of reliability is kind of impossible, in the sense that there’s just so many things that could happen that it’s hard to be sure that you’re covering all the bases,” said William Booth, a senior electricity adviser with the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

via 10 years after blackout, U.S. grid faces new threats | The Detroit News.

Which is precisely why I have links to websites like Survival Reality.  For years Survivalists, and preppers were dismissed as wackadoodles. Nowadays, with the electrical grid being suspect to terrorist attacks, cyber attacks, natural disasters, and weather being brought on either because of weather cycles or man-made climate change; the wackadoodles are not seen as so crazy anymore.

The article goes to say that the grid is much more safe now. But, I just do not buy it. If it is so safe, then why is it every time a major storm blows through somewhere, the power goes out? It is because the grid itself is just as unsafe as it was before.

I realize that not everyone can afford to live “off the grid,” as it is quite expensive to do so. However, some simple planning in advance can prevent troubles down the road. Something as simple as a battery-powered flashlight and a decent cooler and even bottled water, can be quite helpful during a power outage. It is simply a matter of common sense, something that seems to be in short supply today.

Megyn Kelly not a partisan?!?! Please.

I was reading over at hotair.com, and I saw this:

Hannity’s been at 9 p.m. for, what, 17 years? Now that I read it again, Drudge’s post doesn’t say explicitly that he’s leaving the time slot — but it sure does imply it, and it’d be odd, frankly, to pair a more-or-less straight news reporter like Kelly with a strongly partisan commentator like him. Presumably he’s moving to 10 p.m. to do battle with Scary Larry O’Donnell. Where does that leave Greta? Well, last month, after people started whispering that she’d been chatting with CNN, she wrote a blog post stressing that she’s not going anywhere and that Fox had contractually guaranteed her a show in primetime. Primetime includes 7 p.m. (sort of, I think), and her husband told the NYT back in May that she’d be open to a show at an earlier hour. So that’s where Greta likely ends up, which means one less hour of Shep Smith per day unless there are still further changes to come that we don’t know about. Hard to believe they’d move “The Five” given how well it’s doing ratings-wise, and “Special Report” is their most respected pure news program. Maybe, with Kelly’s daytime show being eliminated, they’ll give Shep a block from 2-4 p.m. and figure out something new to do with the 1-2 p.m. hour? Gretchen Carlson’s leaving “Fox & Friends” to host her own show in the afternoon. I guess that’s where she’ll go

via Drudge: Megyn Kelly to get 9 p.m. time slot on Fox News « Hot Air.

More or less a news commentator? Has Allahpundit ever seen Megan Kelly prattle on about Abortion?

Check this video clip:

If that isn’t a partisan attack job, I do not know what the hell is.  Megyn Kelly is about as partisan and biased as the rest of the Republican Statist mouthpieces over at Fox News Channel. AllahPundit needs to write the truth and not this alternate world horse hockey that the rest of his fellow bloggers are known for over there.

I’m just saying.
