It’s a damned shame

I was wondering what this crack up on the right on twitter was all about.

This right here explains all of it.

It’s a damn shame that everyone on side; myself included —- cannot just get the hell along and work together for a common purpose. However, knowing politics like I do, I realize that there are personalities and differences of opinion. Like I seem to have with the majority of the so-called “right” in this country.

Either way, it’s a damned shame that these two could not see eye to eye and could have worked together for a common good on the right for our cause.

Take it from an 40 year old fogie: this is nothing new. The right has always had it’s spats. Neo-cons against paleo, establishment against grassroots, beltway versus heartland — it’s always been like that. ideological purists versus the rest.

I have seen this all and been a part of some of it, in the last eight years that I have been writing about politics. The more things change, the more they stay the same. 30 years ago, it’s was magazines and articles. Now, it’s blogs and twitter.

…and that my good friends is the wonderful thing about a free Republic. We can have differences with our Government, with each other, with our politics and we can air our differences in print; on twitter, on blogs and not have live in fear for our lives, like they do in China, in Iran, and in North Korea.

I think that those who go to battle, like this; ought to ponder the stuff I have wrote above, just once and ask themselves, is this war worth breaking up a movement over something as trivial as a comment made? Surly we can do better than this.

Not to get all powdered hair and historical about it, but…. Surely gentleman, we can do better for the sake of the preservation of our Republic and the fight to keep it!

Just a thought, from an old man.
