Palin not under criminal investigation, says Alaska FBI Spokesman

Unlike some liberal Blogs, I actually do report follow ups to rumors:

Reporting from Washington — A day after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resigned, a federal official in her home state dismissed one potential explanation for her sudden and unexpected resignation: a rumored FBI investigation into the former Wasilla mayor on public corruption charges.

Despite rumors of a looming controversy after the Republican governor’s surprise announcement Friday that she would leave office this month, some of them published in the blogosphere, the FBI’s Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.

“There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we’re investigating her or getting ready to indict her,” Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. “It’s just not true.” He added that there was “no wiggle room” in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

So, ends that rumor about Palin. As Taylor Marsh and many other liberal Bloggers have said; it would be best if the Liberal just left this woman alone and let her get back to her private life.  Further more, this could come back to haunt the Democratic Party in 2012. So, If I were the bloggers I would let this drop.

For once, The Left Shows Some Class and Yes; Some brains….For a Change

Anyone that has read this Blog, for more than a week; knows that I criticize that which I feel needs to be criticized. However, I also very much praise that which I feel deserves to be praised.

This posting may cause some on the right to think, that I am not a true blue Conservative. To which I offer a very plain and quite blunt response:

After some Liberal idiot over at the Huffington Post decided that it would be cute to joke about mental retardation; which resulted in this idiot getting a butt load of hate mail, not only from the right, but also from left. This moron, a Erik Sean Nelson; pulled the article and left this non-apology apology:

I wrote a piece making fun of the fact that a Trig Palin joke was given as the reason that Sarah Palin left office. I wrote jokes that were offensive but my intent was for them to be ironic and therefore not offensive. I was wrong. Within ten minutes of my post I received some emails from the loved ones of the retarded and I saw that my piece was hurtful. Therefore, I removed the post right after receiving the first 2 emails.

I removed it immediately because I saw that it did not come across as I intended. I apologize to all of those who were offended.

Like I said; quite the non-apology apology. Well, it seems someone on the left, is thinking along the same lines as me. A Blog, that I have known about for quite a long time; agrees with me. Skippy the Bush Kangaroo writes:

and we are aghast that nelson would actually write that some “loved ones of the retarded” sent emails.

it’s rather like saying, “i heard from some jungle bunnies, and they were upset. i apologize.”

look, folks, we know the left has had an amazing amount of good luck lately, w/ensign, sanford, and palin’s troubles, not to mention franken getting seated, but that’s no excuse to be rude. nothing is less appealing than an ungracious winner.

firstly, as someone related to a differently-abled american, skippy is incensed that the perjorative “retarded” is being used in a top blog like huffpo.

but secondly, if the idiot who used the offensive word continues to use it in his apology, he obviously hasn’t learned a damned thing about human beings.

we call upon arianna, whose house we have been in and whose shrimp we have eaten, to never, ever, publish mr. nelson’s garbage again.

Mr. Kangaroo, (Boy, does it ever feel strange typing that!) as the nephew of a developmentally disabled or as it once was called; mentally retarded aunt, I thank you for standing up and calling this what it is. I thank you for going against the grain in your own party. Not for the sake of Sarah Palin, but for those who are born with conditions that they have absolutely no control over. This shows class sir; and I thank you for being the one to say what I was feeling when I saw that awful piece written.

……Now if we could just work on the rest of that damned Party……..

Podcast: Special Independence Day Show!

This is my first attempt at a real podcast. At the beginning of this, I was hearing myself back through the headset; so, If I sound a little off, that is why. I fixed it, about 5 minutes into the recording.

I didn’t have a script; so, if I sound like I am rambling in the beginning, that is why.

Anyhow, here’s my reading the Declaration  of Independence.

Perfect Example of why Homosexuals do not belong in our armed forces.

BEAUMONT — Relatives of a slain sailor are calling the 29-year-old’s death a hate crime.

Rose Roy of Beaumont said her nephew, Navy Seaman August Provost III, had complained a year before about being harassed for being gay.

Roy said she advised Provost to report and document the incidents, but she said the military did little to help.

“He went to the Navy to serve and protect,” she said in an interview with Beaumont’s KFDM News, “he didn’t get protected at all.”

Roy told The Associated Press that the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy discouraged her nephew from asking for help.

“That phrase is just stupid because it tells them they have no one to speak to,” she said.

The 29-year-old Houston native was found dead Tuesday at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, north of San Diego. Roy said the family was told that Provost was shot three times, had his hands and feet bound, his mouth gagged, and body burned.

The family plans to hold funeral services July 10 in Houston.

Democratic Rep. Bob Filner of San Diego said Thursday he wants a Defense Department investigation into the death, after leaders of the city’s gay community asked him to intervene.

Investigators have called the sailor’s death a random act unrelated to the his sexuality and have taken a “person of interest” into custody. No charges have been filed.

Roy said Provost joined the Navy in March 2008 to pay off college debt.

Had he not been in the Navy; he would still be alive. The Armed Forces is not a place for Homosexuals. It is a tragic thing; but it his own fault.  Gay blades do not belong in the Armed Forces; it is just that simple. This is why this person is dead. Most likely he came onto some officer and they did not like it and they killed him. Do I think it was right, that he was killed? No, I do not. But, if he had not been in the Navy and most likely not shot his mouth off, he would still be alive.

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson Jr, noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over his home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The Redcoats jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead andScene_at_the_Signing_of_the_Constitution_of_the_United_States his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart.

Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates. Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: “For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” They gave you and me a free and independent America.

The history books never told you a lot about what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn’t fight just the British. We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own government! Some of us take these liberties so much for granted, but we shouldn’t. So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It’s not much to ask for the price they paid.

Report: North Korea has fired three missiles

With the news of Michael Jackson and the news of Sarah Palin this story is being ignored by the American Media. This causes a part of me to wonder; was it done intentionally?

North Korea fired three short-range missiles toward the Sea of Japan, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported Saturday.

Quoting a South Korean government official, the agency said the missiles were apparently Scud-type missiles, estimated to have a range of about 500 km (310 miles). South Korean intelligence estimates that North Korea has about 700 such missiles in its arsenal.

Pyongyang test-fired four such missiles off the east coast on Thursday, Yonhap reported.

North Korea had issued a warning to mariners to avoid an area in the Sea of Japan at certain times between June 24 and July 9 because of a "military firing exercise," according to a U.S. military communication about the warning provided to CNN.

The recent firings come amid heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula. North Korea conducted a nuclear test in May, fired test rockets and threatened U.S. and South Korean ships near its territorial waters.

Earlier this week analyst Daniel Pinkston said the reported test might be training for a future test but it could also just be a routine military exercise.

"It is worrisome to some degree, but it is different from a ballistic missile launch," said Pinkston, of the International Crisis Group in Seoul, South Korea.

It’s part of military training, but there seem to be no movements of troops or anything that would suggest preparations for military operations.

"So yes, people are watching it, the military is watching it here, but I don’t think it’s related to any plans or operations to attack anyone."

Russia had a low-key reaction to the tests. Russian military experts are carefully studying the reports but the launches will not change the political situation, a spokesman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry said.

This should be a clear cut message to the Obama Administration that the sort of “Carrot and Stick” approach to North Korea is not working. It is time for action President Obama, what will you do? Of course, seeing what we are dealing with for President; I do not expect much of a change.
