Me and Dad are going to be out doing the “day before thanksgiving” food shopping. No, we already got the turkey. But this is normal food.
Be back in a couple of hours.
Hopefully, we won’t kill one another. 😉 😛

I am inclined to believe this:
I just got off the phone with Carter. “I know this is a Washington cliche, but sometimes the cliches are true,” he tells me. “I made this tough decision for personal reasons, even though I loved the job and the work we were doing. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to serve again.”
I got to know Carter nearly seven years ago — before he was a military police officer in Iraq, before he was a corporate lawyer, before he was a veterans’ coordinator for the Obama campaign, before he was a well-known defense pundit, and before he moved from Los Angeles to New York to Washington to take his position at the Pentagon. We were neighbors in L.A., and we’ve thrown back a boat-load of sushi and beer over the years. I know he’s had some very real family matters to handle along the way. So I think he’s being straight-up, and not just giving the typical Washington exit excuse.
via Why Phil Carter Left the Pentagon | Danger Room | Wired.com.’
If this were have to come from the New Republic or The Nation; or even a Conservative website for that matter. I would have said that it was written for partisan reasons. However, this did come from Wired.com; which I believe is not really partisan at all. So, I am inclined to believe this story. Contrary to what some might believe; I am not the type of Conservative who only believes a story, if it comes from a Rupert Murdoch owned or Conservative biased news source, like Fox News. This is not to say that I fully trust blindly the liberally biased media, but not everything that comes from them is biased in that manner.
Having said all the above, seeing this is the Thanksgiving Holiday; I will simply say this, nothing is more important than family. Because whether we want to say it or not. Your family will not always be around; so, it is best not to take them for granted. Something I know too well myself. My parents are in their 60’s and not in good health. Because of this, I have never left home, that and because of some rather personal stupid decisions that I made when I was younger. I wish Phil Carter all the best and I hope his family problems are straightened out and everything works out for the best for all persons involved.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of those working at the Pentagon. I know that most of you that work that are not particularly partisan in nature. There are some; but the good majority of them are just working for the Country, because you happen to love your Country and want to see it succeed. You have my admiration and my wishes for greatest success —- despite your surrounding circumstances.
Not to sound like the eternal skeptic here; but something about this story sounds very fishy. I mean, I can understand a death — but a terrorist reporting someone punching him in the mouth strikes me as not being true. Something is fishy here. Not to mention Fox News’s god-awful headline on this story; which does, I am afraid show a horrific bias in this story.
Via Fox News:
Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.
The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.
Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.
Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.
Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.
Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.
Not to sound overly crass or anything like that, but this idiot terrorist ought to be glad a “Fat Lip” is the only thing he received from these Navy Seals. Please do not misunderstand what I am trying to say here folks—- I know that Military personnel are capable of committing crimes just as well as anyone else. A perfect example would be the oh, so ever convenient CNN special on the Army guys who shot, killed and dumped in a ditched some prisoners in Iraq here a few days ago.
A little comment about that little situation; those people are cooling their heels in an Army Prison —- right where they should be. There is no excuse for what those men did, at all. I am quite sorry, but using the asinine excuse of “They will be just shooting at us again later” is no excuse to kill a prison and try to cover it up. Anyone that thinks that those men are heroes is just plain crazy.
Anyhow, back to the present situation at hand here, this terrorist could have, in fact, punched himself in the face and then just told the Iraqi Authorities that the Americans did it to him. Since when do we take the word of Islamic terrorists that killed contractors in Iraq, over the words of our brave service members? Unless there is more to this story than is being reported in the media, perhaps another service member saw the persons involved in this abusing this guy and they reported it to the higher ups in the Military? We do not know this information, so it is hard to make that sort of a judgment call.
Another thing I will say here is this, I was reading a few other Conservative blogs, and some of the stuff I read, I found to be downright surprising. Let me remind my follow Conservatives that we do believe in the rule of law. In World War II and all subsequent wars, the United States and its Military always heeded the Geneva conventions; now the Japanese and the Vietnamese were another story. They did not always do as such. Nevertheless, American never responded in kind, we always treated our prisoners of war with respect. This is why all of this Presidential and Justice Department mandated so-called “enhanced interrogation” or as normal, sane, rational people call it — torture; is so troublesome to me. I have to believe that even the feistiest of the old school Democrats of old, which are nowadays mostly New or Neo Conservatives would not have approved of such things.
Anyhow, this story should prove to be quite interesting and here is hoping that someone the media or something in the Blogosphere will continue to follow it.
Now this is funny!
AllahPundit snarks:
Bottom line, someone’s tripping balls here. I hope it’s not me!
It’s better then tripping over your own balls or even worse — someone else’s. Ba-dump-da-bump Ching! Oh I know, bad joke. But hey, I never said I was Bill Cosby. 😉 😛 😀
Allah Also thinks that Animal was the star of the show; true he was funny, but I liked the Swedish chief’s line of “Verner Nee Hee Verner Nee Hee” instead of “Oh mama mia, mama mia”; that caused me to bust out laughing. 😆

FRANKFORT — A part-time U.S. Census worker found dead near a secluded Clay County cemetery killed himself but tried to make the death look like a murder, authorities have concluded.
Bill Sparkman, 51, of London, apparently was trying to preserve payments under life insurance policies he had taken out, one as recently as May, which paid benefits if he died as a result of murder or accident, but not suicide or natural causes, police said.
Sparkman had survived a bout with cancer a few years ago, but told a friend he believed the cancer had returned and that he would die, police said.
However, there was no indication Sparkman’s cancer had recurred, said Cristin Rolf, deputy state medical examiner.
In a two-month investigation, police marshaled a number of reasons to conclude Sparkman ended his own life. Among other things, only Sparkman’s DNA was on evidence at the scene, and he had told a friend details of his plan that matched what happened, police said at a news conference Thursday.
Police interviewed potential homicide suspects but ruled them out, and found no evidence pointing to any conclusion except that Sparkman killed himself.
“We do believe that we have everything we need to rule out homicide and accidental” death, said state police Capt. Lisa Rudzinski, who helped direct the investigation.
The benefits under Sparkman’s two insurance policies totaled $600,000. Police declined to say who would have gotten the money, though Sparkman’s son Josh, 20, has said he was a beneficiary.
UPDATED: Census worker killed himself, officials say – Latest News – Kentucky.com.
…and for the word “FED” that was scrawled on his body, that the Liberals used as proof that he was murdered by some Government-hating right winger?
If there had been no writing on his chest and his identification hadn’t been taped to him, police could have concluded more quickly that Sparkman’s death was a suicide, Rudzinski told the Herald-Leader.
Instead, it took considerably more investigation to rule out homicide. Investigators even analyzed the writing on Sparkman’s chest to see how the letters were applied, in order to determine whether he wrote on himself or someone else wrote on him.
Forensic tests showed that the letters were applied from the bottom to the top — not the way an assailant facing Sparkman would write them. Police concluded that Sparkman wrote on himself, Rudzinski said.
There was also a good amount of other evidence:
Authorities cited a number of reasons supporting the conclusion Sparkman killed himself.
For instance, there was no evidence that Sparkman had struggled with anyone. There were no defensive wounds on his body and no trauma such as a blow to the head, authorities said.
Tests ruled out any theory that he was drugged and unconscious when he was tied to the tree, making the lack of signs of a struggle more significant.
Sparkman’s glasses were taped to his head with duct tape. The question that raises is why a killer would care whether Sparkman, who had poor vision, could see what was going on.
Police believe Sparkman taped the glasses to his head to make sure he could see as he prepared to kill himself, Rudzinski said.
Also, Sparkman was not dangling from the tree the way people commonly perceive hanging.
His legs were bent at the knees and his knees were less than six inches off the ground, authorities said.
The rope was thrown over a limb and tied off to another tree. Sparkman leaned forward, which would have put the weight of his body on his neck and caused him to lose consciousness, authorities said.
At some point, however, Sparkman could have stood up, taken the pressure off his neck and not died, said Mike Wilder, head of the state medical examiner’s office.
Sparkman’s hands were bound by duct tape, but loosely, allowing him to move them shoulder-width apart, Rolf said.
The significance of that is that Sparkman, acting alone, could have created all the conditions found at the scene, Rudzinski said.
If I were the Democratic Party right about now; I would be frantically calling EVERY last media outlet and DEMANDING that they run a full apology and retraction for ever accusing the right wing media of having anything to do with this. Of course, we do not live in times of political and personal integrity. But rather we have a media that is more interested in a “Story”, no matter if it’s true or not. Thank you liberals for basically insuring that your candidates for office never get elected in 2010 or 2012. If you all think that the American people are not paying attention to this, you are very highly mistaken. I am quite sure that Fox News will be covering this tomorrow and will be making sure that all of those millions of viewers of theirs; as opposed to MSNBC’s and CNN’s paltry sum of viewers, will be fully aware of this situation.
The ending of this article is the saddest part of all:
Authorities said they sympathized with the Sparkman family.
“Our hearts go out to him,” Rudzinski said of Josh Sparkman. “He still lost his father at the end of the day.”
Sparkman’s mother, of course, because she is a liberal, disagrees with the conclusion of the investigation. Sorry lady, your dumb ass son killed himself; because he was week-kneed coward who could not deal with life. Please, stop trying to blame us for something that your stupid son did to himself; that goes the liberal media as well. Next time, try doing your damned homework on a story, before you go off half cocked and blame a political group or ideology for the actions of a stupid coward like this.
Oh, and this comes out and this is the best that this idiot can say? What an Asshole! Speaking of assholes; geek idiot liberal Alan Colmes is spinning like a top.

Today, Tuesday, November 24, 2009, it is with a heavy heart that we declare this election over. We will formally end this election and not ask for a recount. This was a difficult choice to make because so many people have put their faith, hope and aspirations into our campaign.
Yes, there seem to have been many vote counting problems, missed vote counts and, as was recently reported by the Gouvernour Times, software problems in the computerized voting machines. Despite these incidents, I do not believe the voters of NY-23, or New Yorkers in general, would be well-served by a disruptive and costly recount that would most likely not change the election outcome.
I know many are disappointed and even angry. To those I say now is not the time to look back, but to focus on the future and ensure that next year we win back this district decidedly. Know this decision was not an easy one. I did not want to let down those who worked so hard, donated so much and shared their enthusiasm for retaking our country with common-sense conservative values.
And rest assured, our energies are now directed toward 2010. This election, in which a third party candidate narrowly lost, showed that principles do matter. Special interests do have an Achilles’ heel, the American people. Main-street conservatism’s voice is now echoing through the government chambers and boardrooms that shape America. By most measures, this campaign was a success and I have you all to thank for this. And all of us have to thank the Conservative Party of New York State for nominating a candidacy like ours.
We take away lessons from this year’s campaign that will make us stronger and more competitive in the future. Next time we will be better prepared. Many people forget that our campaign only began in earnest three months ago. Most campaigns of this stature take at least a year to prepare. In three months, we almost toppled an entrenched political system and successfully defied the conventional thinking of the elite political punditry. Citizen government is making a comeback in America.
I thank everyone who participated in this campaign and urge each one of you to stand with me in the future. We have a calling that we must answer. My opponent in this race quickly abandoned the promises he made to his voters. Within the first hour of being sworn in by Nancy Pelosi, Bill Owens broke 4 campaign promises — so much for change in Washington. We must resoundingly defeat him next year and, with your help, I promise to help restore our nation’s faith in elected officials when we win.
But there is more to do than just win back NY-23 in 2010. We must work to help other like-minded citizen candidates win across the country. We need to make time to help other candidates who are working for the principles we hold dear — other fiscal, common-sense conservatives. Together we can successfully take back our great nation, one legislator and one member at a time. We need more than one common-sense conservative voice in the echo chamber of liberal, spend thrift cacophony if we are to redirect our great country.
I would also like to commend those election commission officials who worked tirelessly and may have taken offense to an unfortunate and poorly worded fundraising email that was sent out toward the end of our campaign. As we tried to make sense of the false vote counts and stories of software viruses in the voting machines, we never intended to imply the election commissioners had somehow acted improperly. This was never our intention and, on the contrary, the election commissioners went above and beyond to uphold their duty to ensure a fair election took place. I owe them a debt of gratitude for all they have done.
So where to now? Full speed ahead to 2010. This gives us time to carefully articulate and communicate thoughtful positions on issues that impact the great people of our district and ensure that our campaign promises are NOT broken. Best of all, it allows me to work hand-in-hand with the many supporters who shared their ideas, their concerns and their dreams with me.
We need to continue to stand united because we cannot spend our way out of recession or tax our way to prosperity. We must continue to fight to protect our liberties and protect those who are yet to be born. We must protect our country against terrorists and protect the sanctity of marriage. We must fix our corrupt tax code, our immigration policy and our educational system. Most of all, we must defend the free enterprise system that made America the greatest and most prosperous country in the world. Although I’m conceding an election today, I do it with the certainty that we will win back this seat a year from now. I am certain of this because our mission is too big, the country’s problems too dire and the American people are too smart.
Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do. “We the people” are retaking America.

Last night I wrote, in some not-so politically correct words, that the President is not interested in fighting the war in Afghanistan. It appears that this news article confirms what I have believed all along.
Quote:
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama met Monday evening with his national security team to finalize a plan to dispatch some 34,000 additional U.S. troops over the next year to what he’s called “a war of necessity” in Afghanistan, U.S. officials told McClatchy.
Obama is expected to announce his long-awaited decision on Dec. 1, followed by meetings on Capitol Hill aimed at winning congressional support amid opposition by some Democrats who are worried about the strain on the U.S. Treasury and whether Afghanistan has become a quagmire, the officials said.
The U.S. officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the issue publicly and because, one official said, the White House is incensed by leaks on its Afghanistan policy that didn’t originate in the White House.
They said the commander of the U.S.-led international force in Afghanistan, Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, could arrive in Washington as early as Sunday to participate in the rollout of the new plan, including testifying before Congress toward the end of next week. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry also are expected to appear before congressional committees.
As it now stands, the plan calls for the deployment over a nine-month period beginning in March of three Army brigades from the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky., and the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, N.Y., and a Marine brigade from Camp Lejeune, N.C., for as many as 23,000 additional combat and support troops.
In addition, a 7,000-strong division headquarters would be sent to take command of U.S.-led NATO forces in southern Afghanistan — to which the U.S. has long been committed — and 4,000 U.S. military trainers would be dispatched to help accelerate an expansion of the Afghan army and police.
This all sounds nice and pretty; that is until you read down further…:
A U.S. military official used the term “decisional” to describe Monday evening’s meeting among Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Gates, Clinton, National Security Adviser Jim Jones, Eikenberry and senior U.S. military commanders.
The administration’s plan contains “off-ramps,” points starting next June at which Obama could decide to continue the flow of troops, halt the deployments and adopt a more limited strategy or “begin looking very quickly at exiting” the country, depending on political and military progress, one defense official said.
“We have to start showing progress within six months on the political side or military side or that’s it,” the U.S. defense official said.
It’s “not just how we get people there, but what’s the strategy for getting them out,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday.
The approach is driven in part by concerns that Afghan President Hamid Karzai won’t keep his promises to root out corruption and support political reforms, and in part by growing domestic opposition to the war, the U.S. officials said.
HotAir.com’s Ed Morrissey is not impressed at all:
The increase in troops is a good decision, but the off-ramps almost completely undermine it. The point in extending our footprint is to win the trust of the local communities and prove our reliability in providing them security, which is the central thrust of McChrystal’s COIN strategy. By getting them to trust our commitment, we can get them to help fight the Taliban themselves, as we did with the Anbar Awakening in Iraq against al-Qaeda, and greatly improve the intel we get from the locals. If we send 34,000 more troops but give ourselves a six-month time frame for success or bug-out, the locals will very quickly come to the realization that allying with us will be suicide. The COIN strategy only worked in Iraq because George W. Bush was adamant that we would stay until we won.
A Commander in Chief doesn’t need “off-ramps.” Any President can call an end to a deployment based on his own judgment. Putting these conditions into the American strategy signals weakness — a desire to pull out without getting blamed for the decision. Obama wants to be off the hook for an eventual withdrawal by claiming that he’s forced to do it because of these benchmark failures. And if Obama’s that keen to retreat, he should just do it now.
Ed Morrissey hit the nail square on the head. President Barack Obama was never, at any point, interested in fighting the so-called good war in Afghanistan. President Barack Obama knew that he was inheriting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; and he knew that if he continued them, that he would also inherit the backlash from the left that goes with them. Therefore, he is devising a way of getting out that region and making himself look like the saint and President George W. Bush look like the bad person. This was the plan all along; never at any point was there a plan to fight this war until victory; but rather a plan of stealth defeat.
There are many reasons why the Democrats will not fight the war on terror. Namely, it is because to a certain degree the Democrats actually sympathize with the terrorists. The Democrats have always had a disdain for Israel and its right to exist; many Democrats have always felt that President Harry Truman royally screwed up when he decided to formally recognize Israel as a sovereign Nation. It is due to the frosty relationship towards Israel that sparked the attack of the U.S.S. Liberty by a rogue faction within the Israeli Defense Force. Many people who are of the hatemonger class, like to blame Israel and the Jews for that attack; the problem is, they are blaming the wrong people, they should be blaming the Democrats for it.
Not only this, but you also have about sixty percent of the Democrats who actually blame Bush for the attacks on 9/11. They actually believe that Bush knew the attacks were coming and actually allowed them to happen. This is why Eric Holder and the justice department are having civilian trials for a few of the 9/11 conspirators. They desire to drag out of the stuff that happened in the months after 9/11, as to make a mockery of them. The remaining people within the Democratic Party and those who are of the far-leftist mentality actually have the audacity to believe that the United States of America actually deserved the attacks on 9/11, because of our capitalistic society and because of our past treatment of blacks; because we do not give enough hand-outs to poor people and so forth . President Barack Obama’s former Pastor even said as this very thing, and now President Barack Obama is allowing them to have civilian trials; ponder that scary thought for a moment.
In closing, I simply will offer this sober note. Elections have consequences. The American people elected a man, who was supposed to be a stark contrast to President George W. Bush, someone who could lead. What the American people received was an out of touch, dithering liberal elitist, who in all honesty could not even lead his own household, if the truth were told. President Barack Obama is more interested in shoving his rather idiotic social agenda, of wealth redistribution and outright class warfare onto the American people, than a fighting a war that will ultimately decide America’s success or demise. We should remember this come the elections of 2010 and of 2012 and decide wisely our choices for those we plan to put in office.
Sorry folks, while I might respect Lou Dobbs greatly for his views on illegal immigration. I just do not feel he would make a good President.
Former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs has never been elected to any government office, but he said Monday he’s considering a run for the White House in 2012.
During an interview on WTOP radio in Washington, Dobbs fueled rumors he’s seeking a bid for public office, possibly the highest office in the land, when asked if speculation about an Oval Office bid is “crazy talk.”
“What’s so crazy about that?” Dobbs, 64, replied. “Golly!”
So, is it crazy talk or is it real, the radio station persisted.
“Well, I’ll tell you this much — it’s one of the discussions that we’re having,” he said. “For the first time, I’m actually listening to some people about politics.”
“I don’t think I’ve got the nature for it,” he added. “[But] we’ve got to do something in this country and I think that being in the public arena means you’ve got to be part of the solution.”
via Ex-CNN anchor Lou Dobbs is considering running for president in 2012.
The reason I feel this way about Lou Dobbs is this; Lou might have his head on straight about Illegal Immigration. However, he has his head square up his rather large rear end up about economic policy and foreign trade in this country. The man is a flat out Liberal-minded protectionist, when it comes to foreign trade. If it were left to the likes of Lou Dobbs and his ilk, we would totally repeal NAFTA and all the rest of trade agreements that we have with the World and go back to the old days of outright protectionist policies, which would absolutely devastate our economy.
We already have a jobs problem now and our economy is shaky at best. The LAST thing we need is Lou Dobbs or someone of that idiotic mindset to waltz into the White House and rip the one remaining thing that is keeping the American economy afloat and somewhat stable. Going back to the protectionist policies of old would be a textbook case in abject stupidity. Let me remind my readers that it was the stupid economic protectionism and the unwillingness to engage other Countries, that caused the United States to become involved in the second World War; that and President Franklin Roosevelt’s committing of economic warfare against Japan. This triggered an act of desperation by the Japanese.
The main thing to remember about Lou Dobbs is; when he refers to the “Working Middle Class in this Country,” he is referring to the Union Workers. My question to Lou Dobbs is this; what about the NON-UNION working middle class? Do they not deserve protection too, or does that only apply to the Union workers at the big three auto plants?
Not only this, Lou Dobbs has a paranoid idiotic fetish with the so-called “North American Union” that he constantly rants and raves about. The problem is that the so-called evidence of such a thing does not even exist, except in the idiotic minds of those that believe that bunch of malarkey! The very idea that the United States of America would actually abandon its currency and join forces with Canada and Mexico is something of the Alex Jones paranoid stupidity class. Sovereignty is something that Mexico and Canada take quite seriously and I highly doubt that either of those Countries would want to be saddled with our enormous debt.
Thanks, but no thanks Lou; Stick to what you know; which is sitting behind a microphone and bloviating about your opinions on the politics of the day. This would be about as stupid as Bill O’Reilly running for President; he might be a great person and have some very good intentions; however he would be lousy for the job.
Oh, this is just wonderful. Sounds like we are gearing up for a big time concession to the enemy.
An Afghan source in Kabul reports that U.S. Ambassador in Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry is holding secret talks with Taliban elements headed by the movement’s foreign minister, Ahmad Mutawakil, at a secret location in Kabul. According to the source, the U.S. has offered the Taliban control of the Kandahar, Helmand, Oruzgan, Kunar and Nuristan provinces in return for a halt to the Taliban missile attacks on U.S. bases.
…and they say that this was the “good war” and they wanted us to win it. I call bullshit. The Democrats never gave two shits about this war. In fact; they want us to LOSE this war, Just like they did Iraq, god-damned bastards. Vietnam 2.0 all over again…. 😡

When CBS News anchor Katie Couric isn’t asking Sarah Palin gotcha questions, she’s doin’ Da Butt, or the Lambada, or whatever white ladies do when the Black Eyed Peas are on the sound system. More unbelievable images after the jump.
UPDATE: We’ve learned that these are from the after-party celebrating Couric’s debut as anchor of the CBS Evening News. Oh, lord.
A tipster sent us these photos after finding them in a Facebook photo album called “Four Martini Mimimum” and says they were shot in 2006. We’ve asked CBS News for information about where, when, and why they were taken—we think it’s a toss-up between wedding and bar mitzvah. Or maybe a birthday party? Whatever the event: Katie Couric, you now have a standing invitation to any Gawker Media party.
via Katie Couric’s Forbidden Dance of Gin – Gawker.
Wow. Where do I even start? Being that I am the guy that I am. I will simply say this; if Couric is as good in bed, as she is on the dance floor —- I’d say she’s got quite quite the, um, Talent. More pics at the link above. I hate to be the one to say it about Couric. But she is not half bad looking.
