Hispanic Cop kills White Man, Media and Authorities say nothing for 18 months

This is not shocking at all…

Selwyn Duke over at The New American Reports:

John Geer had white privilege.

The privilege of being shot by police and having his death largely ignored by the media, authorities, and activists.

“Hands up, don’t shoot!” It has become a meme and rallying cry for all the wrong reasons and all the wrong people. But it was never a more accurate sound-bite description of events than in the Geer case. The hapless 46-year-old was standing in the doorway of his Fairfax, Virginia, home with his hands at head level when shot by an officer with known “anger issues” who has been subject to four internal-affairs investigations. Geer had committed no crime that day — even the policeman who killed him admits that. Nor was he drunk, armed, or posing a threat at the time.

Oh, and the above is corroborated by six witnesses — four of whom are police officers.

In short, indications are that Geer was murdered that fateful day, August 29, 2013. Yet his case had been largely ignored for 18 months. In fact, the officer who shot him is still on the Fairfax County police force.

The case has a racial/ethnic angle, too. Geer was white, and the officer who killed him, Adam Torres, is a Hispanic. Yet unlike the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri, there are no protests, with Fairfax erupting in flames. There is no media feeding frenzy. Unlike with the Trayvon Martin incident in Florida, Barack Obama hasn’t made inflammatory comments (it seems the president can’t say here, “If I had a brother, he’d look like Geer”). And Attorney General Eric Holder hasn’t brought civil-rights charges or threatened to “dismantle” the Fairfax County police force. Geer had simply disappeared down the black memory hole of white victims

Go read the rest of that, it is quite interesting.

Franklin Graham says Christian persecution is coming and he’s right!

Franklin Graham is absolutely correct, which is one of the rare times, that I actually will agree with an evangelical Christian.

The video:

The Story:

The Rev. Franklin Graham gave an ominous warning to Christians living in the United States Sunday, as he expounded on how religious freedoms are being eroded stateside while believers are being persecuted throughout the world.

Graham also expressed his concerns about the Obama administration’s foreign policy, which has been to rebuke the nation’s allies, such as Israel, while countries known to be hostile to the U.S. are attempting to shape policy by gaining influence in the Democratic party and by giving large donations to entities such as The Clinton Foundation.

“I believe we’re going to see persecution in this country,” Graham said during an interview on “Fox and Friends Weekend” on Sunday. “We’ve already seen many laws that have been passed that restrict our freedom as Christians. I believe it’s going to get worse, and we see no question gaining influence in Washington by those that represent the Islamic faith. We do have a problem in this country and we are losing our religious freedom and we’re losing it a little bit day by day.”

via Christian Post: Franklin Graham Warns American Christians ‘Persecution Is Coming’.

Now, he does go on to blame Obama for the immorality in America; which I personally believe is a bit silly. Because I actually happen to know that immorality actually existed during the Bush 43 Clinton, Bush 41, Reagan and all Presidents prior to all of them.

However, I will say one thing; as a Fundamentalist Christian and a Baptist, I happen to know that at some point, before the rapture of the Church, that Fundamentalists like myself will be targeted, as hateful bigots. I believe that Baptist Churches that do not tow the line of “Don’t judge” will find themselves shut down and their pastors jailed. American Baptists, Southern Baptists and any other Baptists that are members of the American Council of Churches will be spared. But, the Independent Baptists will be gone after in a big way.

This is why that Jesus said this:

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. (John 9:1-5 KJV)

That part about “The night cometh, when no man can work.” That is one of the most misunderstood statements that Jesus ever said. He was not just speaking of the night that was about to befall Christ and the Apostles; he was referring to the spiritual darkness that was coming to this world, that would make it almost impossible to do the work of the Lord.

In this case, and in this case alone; Franklin Graham has rightly spoken.

I have a bad feeling about Iraq, that we are going back there, again…..

This is sad and I have a bad feeling as to what is coming…:

The Story:

Iraq’s government is investigating reports that the ancient archaeological site of Khorsabad in northern Iraq is the latest to be attacked by the Islamic State militant group.

Adel Shirshab, the country’s tourism and antiquities minister, told The Associated Press there are concerns the militants will remove artifacts and damage the site, located 15 kilometers (9 miles) northeast of Mosul. Saeed Mamuzini, a Kurdish official from Mosul, told the AP that the militants had already begun demolishing the Khorsabad site on Sunday, citing multiple witnesses.

On Friday, the group razed 3,000-year old Nimrod and on Saturday, they bulldozed 2,000-year old Hatra — both UNESCO world heritage sites. The move was described by UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon as a “war crime.”

via Associated Press.

I hate to say it; but, I have sinking feeling that the United States is going to have to end up going back into Iraq again. This time to destroy ISIS in Iraq and maybe even Libya too; and possibly the entire Arab peninsula. I hope like heck that I am wrong about it; but I have a bad feeling. We, of course, will not be doing it alone. But, we and the coalition allies will be going into the middle east again.

Of course, this will be used as a recruitment tool for the likes of ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Not to mention all of the rest of the things that go with war. It is a sad thing; but, at this point, I do believe that it is inevitable. I just hope that this Presidential administration  manages things this time better than the last one did. The last one was a disaster. I have my doubts about that too. Because the track record is just not that good. Normally, I would just pray for peace; but in this case, with this ISIS group — that is just not possible. If anything at all, I pray that the Nations that ISIS are in and are conducting terrorist actions, would rise up and attack these terrorists, so that the United States would not have to do it. However, if I know things like I do; they will not do it and will rely on the United States to bring its military in to deal with the problem.

There are people who will want to blame Bush for this mess. I think that would be foolish, at this point. Because President Bush had a plan in place, that would have insured Iraq’s safety for many years to come. However, President Obama came in and changed the plan and pulled out the troops before the plan could even be implemented. Because he was under pressure from the anti-war faction of his party.

Now, because of that idiotic move; we now have ISIS and it is a bigger problem than Al-Qaeda ever was and are much crazier. So, it is back to the war game. Hopefully, the Republic will survive.

Answering Juan Williams

Juan Williams’s piece on blacks and police brutality is a very good piece, but here are few things that he did leave out.

Quote:

Police violence against blacks was a fact of life in Selma. The sheriff, Jim Clark, shoved down and arrested a middle-class and middle-aged black woman, Amelia Boynton, who was standing in line to register; Clark later elbowed another marcher, and when she fought back, he had his men hold her down while he hit her in the head with a stick.

“If Negroes could vote, there would be no Jim Clarks,” King told activists in Selma. “Our children would not be crippled by segregated schools …”

Later, C.T. Vivian, executive director of Dr. King’s group, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, stood before police blocking the door to the registrar’s office and said, “We know your badge numbers … There are those who followed Hitler like you blindly follow this Sheriff Clark … You can’t keep anyone in the U.S. from voting without hurting the rights of all other citizens. Democracy is built on this. This why every man has the right to vote…”

Clark responded by hitting Vivian in the mouth, even as television cameras captured the bloody scene.

Meanwhile, only 1 percent of blacks in Selma had been allowed to register to vote. As a 65-year-old black man famously said at the time: “If what I done ain’t enough to be a registered voter with all the taxes I got to pay, then Lord have mercy on America.”

That led to the events at the Pettus Bridge on March 7. Dr. King was not there, but John Lewis, then head of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and now a congressman from Georgia, led activists to start a march from Selma across the bridge and down the highway to the state capital, Montgomery, to call for voting rights. Alabama state troopers ordered them to disperse, and then they suddenly rushed into the marchers, knocking them down and beating them. Some of the marchers were trampled by horses.

What Juan fails to mention, is that these horrible acts were not committed by White Republicans, but rather by committed southern white Democrats, who were very racist and hated blacks with a passion. George Wallace was, in fact, a Democrat; who left the party, because he felt that the Democrats were caving, in his mind, to the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. and he started the “Dixiecrat” movement.

Juan also fails to mention that in Alabama and in Atlanta, Georgia; the Government was basically indirectly controlled by the Klu Klux Klan; which was basically, since its inception and in subsequent incarnations; a terrorist wing of the Democratic Party. This was due to resentment because of the south losing the civil war. Now, has the Democratic Party changed since that time? Oh yes, quite a bit. There is racism in that Party, very much so. However, it is much more subtle now and is really not the entrenched, institutionalised morass that it once was at one time.

Juan goes on to talk about how the police overreact with blacks; which is a direct result of a police state. Which is something that his party, The Democratic Party and also some neoconservatives have consistently voted for, and allowed to exist for many years. Proof of this is with the selling of old military vehicles to local police departments and the creation of these god-awful “swat teams.” Again, this is all a creation of big Government types which the Democrats and some so-called Conservatives fully support.

The Bottom Line: If Juan Williams wants to blame anyone for the treatment of blacks; he might want to look at his own political party.

UAE conducts airstrikes on ISIS oil pipelines

Good to see that someone else besides The US having to the heavy lifting against ISIS.

The story:

The United Arab Emirates said Saturday its warplanes had carried out raids against oil installations held by the Islamic State group, which controls large swathes of Iraq and Syria.

The state news agency WAM did not say where the raids struck, only that UAE fighter jets took off overnight Friday from their base in Jordan, another partner in the US-led coalition against the jihadists.

“UAE Air Force F-16 squadron deployed to an airbase in Jordan conducted fresh air strikes last night against the terrorist organization (ISIS),” WAM said.

The planes hit several ISIS “operation and extraction points along crude oil pipelines in order to dry up the terror group’s sources of funding”, it said, adding they all returned safely.

It was the second reported air strikes by UAE aircraft since February 16 when warplanes from the Gulf federation also took off from Jordan and hit oil refineries held by ISIS.

Answering Don Surber’s sillyness

Touting the so-called “Conservative” line, Don Surber spouts the following:

Free healthcare is killing the states

Republican Charlie Baker of Massachusetts is only the latest governor to discover that Medicaid is eating his state’s budget. Roughly one in three dollars Massachusetts state government spends goes to Medicaid. He has proposed trimming about 6% from the $13.3 billion the state will spend on Medicaid in the budget.

Medicaid spending has relentlessly risen 57% in the last dozen years in Massachusetts, causing the state to cut spending on prisons, roads and other services. That is the pattern throughout the United States, as state governments are intimidated into spending all they can on Medicaid in order to knock down federal subsidies. In West Virginia, medical lobbyists harp for every $1 the state spends it gets $3 — while our roads go to pothole hell.

via Don Surber: Free health care is killing the states. (Via Ace of Spades HQ)

As I wrote over there: That’s funny, Michigan’s expanded Medicaid is running just fine here. I have seen no reports of funding issues at all. For those who do not know, I am on Michigan’s expanded Medicaid; because I happen to have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and as I have had for many years, ADHD. Those meds run me almost $200.00 per month and I simply do not feel that my parents, who are on a fixed income; should have to foot that bill.

At the risk of being labeled a “Liberal”, by people like Don Suber and his ilk; I feel that the underlying cause of people like Don Surber criticizing the expanded Medicaid is one reason and one reason alone: Bigotry. Which, by the way, is why Don Surber was fired from the paper that he blogged for; because of a racist rant where he called Michael Brown “an animal that needed to be put down.”

It simply boils down to bigotry, against those who are poor, like myself, and that need the medical care and cannot pay for it. Some of the people, that are in the position that I am in, are minorities. I am a white man, but, I am not in the best of shape, financially. My physical body is not in the best of shape either. So, physical labor for me, is out.

The position of people like Don Suber and those who think like him; is that I should just die and quit being a burden on the system. It is inhuman and should not be tolerated in Conservative circles.

So, if there is anyone or anything is EVIL, as Don Suber puts it; it is bigoted racist neocon jerks like Don Surber, who want to deny healthcare to anyone who is not white and wealthy. By the way, in Great Britain, Government healthcare is considered a birthright and Thatcher fought to preserve it, even at the cost of making people in her own party angry. Too bad people like Don Surber cannot follow that example.

Just my opinion.

On Hillary Clinton and EmailGate

I have a few questions on this little matter. But, first the story:

WASHINGTON — In 2012, congressional investigators asked the State Department for a wide range of documents related to the attack on the United States diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. The department eventually responded, furnishing House committees with thousands of documents.

But it turns out that that was not everything.

The State Department had not searched the email account of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton because she had maintained a private account, which shielded it from such searches, department officials acknowledged on Tuesday.

via Using Private Email, Hillary Clinton Thwarted Record Requests – NYTimes.com.

Here are my questions:

  1. Where were all of these concerned Republicans and so-called “Conservatives”, when the officials from Bush Administration were discovered to be using private e-mail accounts for Government business? Busily defending them and trying to downplay the issue, that’s what!
  2. Perhaps one of the most important questions of them all: If Hillary Clinton had black skin; would this even be an issue? I mean seriously; this looks more like a Neo-leftist attack on a New-leftist old White Woman, by supporters of a neo-leftist black man. Just sayin’… 🙄 …and yes, I am going there.
  3. Is this a legit story for the left to be even covering or is this an actual media hit job on Hillary Clinton which is being coordinated by the White House, in retaliation for the Clinton Machine tactics against the Obama campaign in 2008? (Like the Birther thing, which started in Clinton camps…)

I mean, I can see the right attacking Hillary on this issue; the right made quite cottage industry for itself attacking Bill Clinton in the 1990’s. This continues to this day and to a degree; their attacks have merit. However, for the left to attack Hillary over this issue here; smacks of political retribution of the ugly sort and could be seen as a sexist attack on a woman; on the part of supporters of a neo-leftist black man.

This my friends, would spell trouble for the Democratic Party. There are some that think that this is simply the Democrats holding a door open for Elizabeth Warren; I dissent, I believe this could leave an opening for the Republicans to appeal to the soccer mom’s and they will be able to say, “See how the Democrats treat older white women?” This could backfire on the media and badly.

Just my opinion.

Video: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s full speech to Congress

I was going to post this without any sort of commentary. However, I did watch the entire speech; and I have some thoughts.

I want to make it absolutely clear; I speak for myself only, not for any other Paleoconservatives, Republicans or any other sort — just myself.

Update: I forgot to add that, yes, I believe that trusting Iran and trying to make a deal with them is absolutely stupid. But, that is a separate issue.

I believe that Benjamin Netanyahu is correct about his assessment of Iran is correct. I believe that Israel does have a legitimate complaint against Iran. Furthermore, I believe that Israel has a right to defend itself against threats from any sort of enemy.

However, unlike some; I am going to tell you about how I feel about Benjamin Netanyahu’s political stunt of basically telling the President of the United States to essentially “piss off” and coming to speak to Congress with no regard to the White House’s wishes. Folks, I would feel this way, if there was a Republican in the White House too. So, before anyone tries to say that, please, do not bother.

I believe that Benjamin Netanyahu’s political stunt showed great disrespect to the office President of the United States. I believe that the political stunt of Benjamin Netanyahu projected the image to many of Israel’s critics, such as myself and others; that the United States of America is an actual Zionist Occupied Government — which is the opinion of many of the more hateful types in this Country. Now, personally, I do not believe that to be the case; However, I also know that there are many lobby groups that take up the cause of Israel. The image of a foreign leader to address the Congress and to basically “Spank” the President of the United States is a grave insult to the office. Again, if there was a Republican in the White House and this happened, I would say the same very thing.

I said this very same thing, when the President of Mexico came to Congress and chastised them for their immigration laws. So, the charge of Anti-Semitism is not gonna fly here.

Commie Nork Leader tells army, “Prepare for War”

Normally, I would not think that this would be anything to worry about, as the Norks have been doing this sort of saber rattling for years. But, seeing the way that the situation is now with a weak White House and ISIS on the move; if I were in a position of authority in the Military or at the Pentagon, I would be watching this one like a hawk.

The Story:

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has urged his army to prepare for war with the United States and its allies, state media said Saturday, as Pyongyang ramps up the rhetoric ahead of US-South Korea military drills.

Kim’s comments came after South Korea and the United States Friday conducted a joint naval drill involving 10 South Korean warships and a US Aegis destroyer, ahead of the launch of large-scale military exercises that have enraged the North.

“The prevailing situation where a great war for national reunification is at hand requires all the KPA (Korean People’s Army) units to become (elite) Guard Units fully prepared for war politically and ideologically, in military technique and materially”, he was quoted by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) as saying.

North Korea regularly ratchets up hostile rhetoric at times of joint US-South Korea military exercises that spark a sharp surge in tensions on the divided peninsula.

Kim called on the military to train hard in order “to tear to pieces the Stars and Stripes”, in comments made while opening a new hall at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum in Pyongyang, KCNA said.

via MSN: North Korean leader tells army: ‘prepare for war’.

Again, this might be just more of the same old saber rattling from the Norks. But, I would still be watching it and I mean very closely.
