I do not link to these guys often; because I happen to think that Newsbusters is a partisan operation. However, when they are right, they are right. Anyhow, Noel Sheppard over at NewsBusters makes the following observation:
Imagine for a moment the outrage if a conservative commentator said even jokingly to Obama supporters, “White people know who you are and they will come after you.” That would be the end of that person’s career. Period. No questions asked. Done! But Maher who’s adored by the Obama-loving media can say this with total impunity. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: HBO should be ashamed to have this disgusting man as one of its on air personalities. Period. End of story.
I agree. Because of the liberal media bias in America; and because Bill Maher happens to be of the correct protected minority ethnic bloodline, on his mother’s side — he can get away with sort of thing. Just my opinion.
However, Sheppard is correct, if a Conservative had said the same thing, but with black and white switched out, he would be called a Nazi, A racist and a bunch of other stuff and his career would be over. Just another example of the perverted nonsense that plaques this Country.
When I saw the title, I thought it was from a Conservative group; it wasn’t. It was from these guys:
The title?
“Turn off MSNBC”
The e-mail:
Charles,
It’s okay if you’re nervous about Tuesday. I’m nervous, too. The outcome of these races will have major ramifications for working families for years to come.
So here’s my advice: just turn off MSNBC. Stop scrolling through your Facebook feed. It’s easy to want more information in the final days, but obsessing over polls and news cycles isn’t going to make a difference.
Talking to voters will.
Will you sign up to make calls to key voters today?
(When you RSVP, we’ll send you all the details to join.)
We’ve heard from volunteers that they feel extra prepared to hit the phones after trainings from our staff, so we’ve scheduled extra sessions between now and Tuesday.
We’ll talk you through the tool and give you updated messaging information on how to reach the voters who need to hear from you the most—these are voters who might not make it to the polls without an extra nudge, but can swing races our way if they do. Click here to commit to a training and calls. MSNBC doesn’t need you, but we do.
In Solidarity,
Nicole Aro

Wow! When the AFL-CIO is telling people to turn off MSNBC, you KNOW something is wrong in hamburger helper land. If you catch my drift. I am thinking that the liberals are already conceding defeat.
I have a really good feeling about this election, I really do. I do believe that the silent majority is going to vote and things are going to change once again; for the good.
If you will allow me to just blather on for a second here; the Democrats have no one to blame, but themselves. They did it to themselves. They chose skin color over real experience. They chose to follow in the footsteps of Carter, instead of Roosevelt. They chose to pursue far-leftist ideology, over pragmatism. They chose to run to the far-left, instead of a moderate Democratic agenda. They chose to attempt to alter the Nation’s healthcare system, instead of trying to fix the economy. They did it backwards; and now, they are paying the price for it.
I said this long ago, that the Democrats would pay and pay dearly for it; and now it is coming to pass. There are consequences to overreach, just like Republican-controlled Congress suffered under Dennis Hastert in 2007. Just like Democrats suffered in 2009, when they lost big. You cannot overreach in politics, when you do, you suffer for it. George H.W. Bush did it, Clinton did it, but managed to stay in office. George W. Bush did it, and John McCain lost.
I am pretty much thinking here, that if Romney wins this election, that the Democrats are going to suffer a huge setback and that the party could very well fall apart. I hope not; I hope that more saner, moderate voices will take that party back and move it more towards the center. I believe in divided Government, and I believe that the Democrat’s future is in moderation, not in extremist policies.
However, because I am a realist, and I know how progressivism works; I happen to know that, once the genie is out of the bottle, there is no putting it back. Let’s just say that the big black genie was let out of the bottle in 2008 and the Democrats are going to have a heck of a time getting him back in that bottle.
Hope requires Faith, and now, I just do not have much Faith in the Democratic Party of today.
Current TV, the ratings-challenged cable network started by former Vice President Al Gore, has put itself up for sale, The Post has learned.
“Current has been approached many times by media companies interested in acquiring our company,” CEO Joel Hyatt told The Post. “This year alone, we have had three inquiries. As a consequence, we thought it might be useful to engage expertise to help us evaluate our strategic options.”
Current is still interviewing investment banks and has yet to launch a formal sales process, said one source.
The service, launched in August 2005 after Gore had begun his crusade against global warming, has churned through programming and personnel as it tried to find its voice.
The channel started out as youth-centric and user-generated before going heavier on news and documentaries. Its latest incarnation is as a left-leaning cable news network, à la MSNBC.
In January 2011, it hired former “Countdown” anchor Keith Olbermann, after MSNBC canceled his contract. Then in March, Current also cut Olbermann loose.
The network now airs such shows as “Joy Behar: Say Anything!” and “Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer.”
Current, owned by Gore, Hyatt and some private backers, is in about 60 million homes, which could make it valuable to buyers looking for cable network distribution.
It gets about 12 cents a subscriber from pay-TV operators that carry it, or around $82 million last year, according to SNL Kagan. Ad revenue last year was estimated at just $16.9 million.
$16.9 million in Ad Revenue??!?! That’s it? Now, compared to a wee little website like mine, that is a whole lot of money. However, in the grand scheme of things, 16.9 million is quite paltry for revenue for a website of that caliber.
Now I could try and be charitable and say it is because of the economy or a few other clever excuses. However, because this is Al Gore and his brand of idiot progressivism; I am just going to tell the inconvenient truth here. This website is up for sale, because progressivism sucks, as does the idiotic global warming hysteria horse shit, that Al Gore is infamous for peddling. Also, ol’ Joey Hyatt is a bit of an a-hole too, just ask Keith Olbermann, who bolted from that sinking ship, when he realized he was working with a bunch of unprofessional idiots.
So, yeah, I am taking a bit of a perverse pleasure in hearing this news and blogging about it. You could say, that it warms the cackles of my rather cold Conservative heart.
With 12 days to go before the presidential election, Powell publicly endorsed President Obama for re-election on “CBS This Morning” Thursday
“I voted for him in 2008 and I plan to stick with him in 2012 and I’ll be voting for he and for Vice President Joe Biden next month.”
Powell explained his choice to Charlie Rose and Norah O’Donnell:
When he took over, the country was in very very difficult straits. We were in the one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression. The fiscal system was collapsing. Wall Street was in chaos, we had 800,000 jobs lost in that first month of the Obama administration and unemployment peaked a few months later at 10 percent. So we were in real trouble. The auto industry was collapsing, the housing was start[ing] to collapse and we were in very difficult straits. And I saw over the next several years, stabilization come back in the financial community, housing is now starting to pick up after four years, it’s starting to pick up. Consumer confidence is rising.”
Summarizing the past four years under Obama, Powell said “Generally we’ve come out of the dive and we’re starting to gain altitude.” He acknowledged that problems remain, saying “The unemployment rate is too high, people are still hurting in housing but I see that we’re starting to rise up.”
Turning to foreign policy, Powell said he saw “the president get us of one war, start to get us out of a second war and did not get us into any new wars. And finally I think that the actions he has taken with respect to protecting us from terrorism have been very very solid. And so, I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on.”
He goes on in this story to bash Mitt Romney and his policies. What gets me, is that the man just cannot be honest and say that he support President Obama because he is black. What is so hard about just saying, “He’s a black brother and I support him.”? It just does not make sense.
Of course, if a White man like me says this; then the left likes to yell, RAAAAACIST! Which is what they are truly good for anymore. Just ask Chris Matthews.
I don’t give two flips what your politics is; this right here, is not cool at all.
The Victim – Sean Kidzie
Early Friday morning, thugs presumably supporting President Obama beat up the son of Wisconsin State Senator Neal Kedzie outside of his apartment in Whitewater. Kedzie caught the two men removing a Romney sign outside of his apartment around two o’clock in the morning. After telling them to put the signs back, one of the thugs attacked Kedzie and then put him in a choke hold and continued to beat his head.Mark Belling spoke to the Senator’s son Sean on the radio earlier today. Sean Kedzie told Belling he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with possible skull and eye socket fractures.
**Update: I spoke to Sean Kedzie this evening; he told me is doing well under the circumstances. He said, unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much of an effort to notify people that this incident has occurred, and the two men that beat him up have still not been caught.
Kedzie also said, “the next night another sign was removed from his yard supporting Tommy Thompson for Senate and the night after that an ‘I stand with Walker’ sign was stolen.”
Kedzie told me he is concerned if the thugs that beat him are not caught, other people may be hurt for simply having signs in their yard supporting particular candidates. When I asked if there is anything that people can do to help, he replied, “just stand up for their rights and what they believe in.”
This stuff is not even funny at all. This is the stuff that used to happen to the unions back in the day, at the Battle of the overpass. It is too bad that Democrats have forgotten about all of that. I remember it, because my Dad is a retired GM worker and I know the history of the labor movement. Here is hoping that they catch these punks and put them away for a good long while.
I realize this posting might just harm my so-called “Conservative credentials,” if I actually had any to begin with; but personally, I really do not care, to be quite honest. Glenn Greenwald is a liberal, Democrat and has written very extensively on the misdeeds and unconstitutional acts of the United States Government. One of the of the good things about Glenn Greenwald is that he is absolutely consistent in his stance against some of the unconstitutional acts of this Government under the banner of the “War on Terrorism.” When I was still a part of the “cheering squad” for the left and Bush was still much in control; Greenwald was a daily reader for me.
One thing you should know about Mr. Greenwald is that the same criticisms that Glenn has against the Obama Administration is the SAME ones that he had against the Bush Administration. This is why I do truly like what he is doing; politics be damned, we must hold this Government’s feet to the fire at all times. Otherwise, they will trample over us, like we do not exist. This is what Glenn Greenwald does, and this is why I am adding him to my “Honest Liberals” blogroll on this site. While I disagree with him on politics; I agree with what he is doing, which is keeping them honest.
Anyone who observes politics closely has a very low bar of expectations. It’s almost inevitable to become cynical – even jaded – about just how inept and inane top Washington officials are. Still, even processing this through those lowly standards, I just find this staggering. Staggering and repellent. This is an elected official in Congress, the body that the Constitution designed to impose checks on the president’s abuses of power, and she does not have the foggiest idea what is happening in the White House, and obviously does not care in the slightest, because the person doing it is part of the party she leads.
One expects corrupt partisan loyalty from people like Wasserman Schultz, eager to excuse anything and everything a Democratic president does. That’s a total abdication of her duty as a member of Congress, but that’s par for the course. But one does not expect this level of ignorance, the ability to stay entirely unaware of one of the most extremist powers a president has claimed in US history, trumpeted on the front-page of the New York Times and virtually everywhere else.
Amen. While I believe the war on terrorism is an important battle; I do not believe the best way to fight it, is by dancing around the constitution to do so. This is why I respect Mr. Greenwald, because he believes that as well. Good show Mr. Greenfield; keep it up!
Update: I realized after I hit publish, that Greenwald is gay. So much for me being a “right-wing gay hater” eh? The truth is, what Glenn does in his private life, is his own damned business. Do I support the lifestyle? No. But that does not mean I cannot respect a man, who happen to be gay, for supporting our constitution — because now, that is what is important. Social Conservatism is great, and it is what I am; but it is not what I want my Country to be modeled after. Because it is the Christian version of Sharia Law and I do not want that in this Country ever. Sharia Law or a Christian Theocracy.
Again Good Job, Glenn — keep it up! From a fan on the “so-called” right.
