I don’t expect Beckel will be around Fox News much longer; one does not say such things and stay very long.

Via NBCNews.com, a detail that I am hoping like hell is wrong:
A temple committee member, Ven Boba Ri, told the Journal-Sentinel that people inside the temple described the shooter as a white male in his 30s.
“We have no idea,” he said of the motive. “It’s pretty much a hate crime. It’s not an insider.”
Ri told the Journal-Sentinel the gunman walked up to a priest who was standing outside the temple and shot him. Then he went inside and started shooting.
If this is even remotely true; we are so.very.much.screwed, when it comes to gun rights. It is over and we will have to wait to see if Mitt Romney wins or not and if the Republican take both houses. Because you know good and well; that the Democrats will enact strict Gun laws. It is that whole, “never let a crisis go to waste” thing.
Right now, prayers. Prayers for the victims, Prayers for the families —- and Prayer for our Nation. We’re about to lose it, if we are not real careful here. 🙁

A small snippet:
Dear Free-Range Kids: Recently my youngest daughter and I had an experience that really shook me up (both of us, actually), and I wanted to share it with you. We were walking to the library together, and she was holding my hand and trying to pull me into telephone poles and whatnot as we walked, which is a silly game that she enjoys. Suddenly a police car pulled up beside us, lights on and everything. The cop gets out of his car, says “Sir, please step away from the child,” then proceeds to crouch down and ask her if “everything is okay.”
After re-asking a few times, getting a more and more nervous “yes” each time, he stands up and informs me that someone had called 911 reporting what looked like a young girl being abducted. My daughter and I both explained what was really happening, and not only did he not even apologize, he chastised ME for not being, and I quote verbatim here, “More thankful someone was watching out for my daughter.” — Read the rest here
Big Government Statism at its finest there.
Another good reason keep it in your pants and not have kids. Our Government, at all branches, is simply out of control.

What an utter disgrace to the memory of President Harry Truman! 😡
TOKYO – A grandson of ex-U.S. President Harry Truman, who ordered the atomic bombings of Japan during World War II, is in Hiroshima to attend a memorial service for the victims.
Clifton Truman Daniel visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on Saturday and laid a wreath for the 140,000 people killed by the Aug. 6, 1945, bombing authorized by his grandfather. Another atomic blast in Nagasaki three days later killed 70,000 more.
“I think this cenotaph says it all — to honor the dead to not forget and to make sure that we never let this happen again,” Daniel said after offering a silent prayer.
via Truman grandson visits Hiroshima A-bomb memorial | Fox News.
Here’s the part that really sent me into a rage:
Daniel, a former journalist, met Sadako’s 71-year-old brother, Masahiro Sasaki, who survived the bombing, at a peace event in New York in 2010. They agreed to work together to deepen understanding between the two countries, which are still divided over the question of the legitimacy of the atomic attacks.
“There are other opinions, there are other points of view, and I don’t think we ever finish talking about that,” Daniel said after visiting a museum at the memorial. “The important thing is to keep talking, to talk about all of it.”
Daniel said in a statement that he decided to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki because he needed to know the consequences of his grandfather’s decision as part of his own efforts to help achieve a nuclear-free world. He said he hoped to hear stories from survivors about how they overcame their adversity.
Daniel also is to meet with the mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and participate in discussions with students.
Susumu Miura, a 78-year-old Hiroshima native, wrote in the newspaper Tokyo Shimbun that he was enraged when he learned that many Americans still support the decision to drop the atomic bombs.
“But when I heard on the news that former President Truman’s grandson is visiting Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I felt as if I lost some weight from my chest,” Miura wrote in an op-ed article.
Here is a clue for Mr. Truman and to Mr. Miura —- The imperial Military of Japan attacked us first, on what was known then, as the Republic of Hawaii. Not only were there military officers killed in that attack, there were innocent civilians on that Island killed too. Not only that, but the Japanese Military would not surrender, they kept fighting and would do so to the death. Because of this, President Truman decided to drop the bombs on Japan.
Now before some idiot tries to lecture me —-I know —- there were actions taken by the United States Government covertly to stop Japan from spreading aggression to the other eastern Countries. However, the fact remains that the empire of Japan attacked the United States Military base at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 without warning, without consideration of civilian life or any other life for that matter. It was an act of cowardice and was answered by the righteous might of the United States Military.
For this liberal buffoon, Clifton Truman Daniel, to go to the land of our aggressor and basically tell them that we were wrong for dropping the atomic bomb on Japan is akin to urinating on the graves of our World War II dead. It is Anti-American, it is morally wrong and Clifton Truman Daniel should be forcefully deported out this Country for such an act! If we lived in a sane world and not one dominated by liberalism, but one of sane patriotism —- this liberal buffoon would be tried for treason!
As someone who has had multiple family members; including one who fought in Germany during World War II and earned a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for his service and bravery during the war, serve in the Military —— I find this action by this leftist jackass to be offensive and utterly insulting to the memory of ALL of those, who served in the United States Military. Furthermore, this is nothing more than a stab in the back and spitting in the face, to the fine people answered the call of the President of United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, to fight for their Country against the evil axis of power that was threatening our Country at that time.
Clifton Truman Daniel owes the United States Military, its officers —- both current and former and their families an apology this most grievous insult.
A new PAC has been formed, FightBigotry.com. I will give my thoughts at the end.
The Video: (Via Think Progress)
Who is running it:
FightBigotry.com’s founder and treasurer is Stephen Marks, a well-known Republican opposition researcher whose 2008 book Confessions of a Political Hitman detailed his work in what he called “the dark side of politics.” In 2000, he launched an attack ad under the misleading name “Americans Against Hate,” attempting to tie Al Gore to controversial comments by Rev. Al Sharpton. Another Marks spot in 2004 attempted to link John Kerry to convicted murderer Willie Horton. He was forced to retract a claim in the book about then-Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ), acknowledging that “the information was not accurate.”
About the Video:
Beyond the obvious race-baiting, the ad is riddled with factual errors. Holder’s March 2011 statement was criticizing a Congressman for equating an a 2008 New Black Panther Party incident with the much more violent assaults against voting rights advocates in the 1960s – not about “pursuing the New Black Panthers.”
And what this group terms a “racist altercation with police” involved a Harvard University professor being stopped by police for trying to enter his own home. Even conservative Fox News legal analyst and former New Jersey state Judge Andrew Napolitano called it an “improper arrest.”
Okay now for my thoughts:
To Steven Marks, you have the right to do this — but… What does it honestly do for the Conservative movement and the Republican Party? I mean, the stuff is class A, USDA choice, weapons grade, dog-whistle material. I mean, what is the motivation? Is it to inform people, or is it to stir up hostility among white people against Obama?
Simply put, this is nothing more than a losing gambit; for all concerned — White People, The Conservative movement, The Republican Party, Mitt Romney and his supporters. The truth is folks, we can run on Obama’s record; as it is said that he is going to lose big anyhow, we do not need to bring race into this election at all. It is unneeded baggage and it will only hurt us in the long run.
While I am empathetic and sympathetic to the things said in this video, as I am a white person myself; I simply do not believe that this is really needed at all. It does nothing for the Conservative cause and it does well play into the talking-point that Republicans are racist. This is simply something that we just do not need at all.

Legal Insurrection, InstaPundit, and Twitchy are reporting that the Chick-Fil-A support event was a success.
But, there was a bomb threat at a Chick-Fil-A in Martinsberg, Va. The Martinsberg Journal reports:
MARTINSBURG – Police and fire crews closed down the Chick-fil-A on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg for nearly three hours following a bomb threat that was called in just before 1 p.m. today.
The caller mentioned that a “device” had been placed within the restaurant. The building was evacuated, but was deemed safe at about 3:45 p.m. after no bomb or any other type of device was discovered.
Martinsburg City Police and the Martinsburg Fire Department personnel investigated the scene, along with Berkeley County Sheriff Kenny Lemaster. A National Park Ranger with a canine unit arrived at the scene at approximately 2:45 p.m. to assist, and a second from the West Virginia State Police arrived later as well.
According to a release from police, the location of the call was traced and the investigation is following up on leads about the male caller.
“We prosecute to the fullest extent that the law allows for anyone making these types of threats,” the release states.
Hmmmmm… Bomb threat….male voice… I wonder, was Ed Brayton home all day? I’m just sayin. 😯
I would have participated in this as well; but Chick-Fil-A does not have a location in my area. 🙁 So, I could not go show my support.

This is one of those personal posts, which will most likely go on for a bit. So, if you will please, permit to share with you my heart a bit. As you all know, I am a born-again Christian of 30 year vintage; which is a nice way of saying that I am old. I am 40, no use trying to deny that.
I found out last night something that ripped my heart out in a very big way. I found out that the Church that I had attended for 10 years of my life; which was from 1983 until 1993 — decided to pack it in, and call it 35 years and close their doors for good. I am referring to no other than Detroit Grace Assembly of God in Detroit, Michigan.
I am not interested in assigning blame or anything silly like that; I just found the news to be a bit unsettling. What I do know is this, after Pastor Johnny D. Saenz retired, most of people that were going there, which was his family members and a few others — left after he retired. This left the Church with two families. Ken Lambert, who was basically the last man standing, decided that leaving the Church open for just two families, just really was not worth it.
I am one of those kinds of people that grow attached to a thing, which is rather strange, considering the fact that I am not really in the Pentecostal Churches anymore. Yeah, that is right; back in 2004, after spending 21 years in those circles; I packed up my memories and called it a good run and got into my little wood canoe, and paddled across the Christian lake to the Baptist beach and started over. What I did not do, was deny the fact that I came those circles, nor did I ever hold any grudges. Thus the reason why finding out that this Church ended just breaks my heart in two. I always thought that this Church would be around until the rapture came. Well, it was not to be.
If I were to sit here and tried to write all of things that I learned, the things that the Lord showed me, the things that were poured into me, by faithful servants of God, who happened to attend that Church; this silly blog entry would be twelve pages long.
What I can tell you is this — even though the work of Detroit Grace Assembly of God is done, and the old lighthouse operators at 1953 Military Street have stood down from their positions and have handed the controls to some new and very energetic people who wish make a difference. The message has not changed one bit. That message was first was heralded first by St. Patrick’s Church, who built the building and then by Detroit Grace Assembly of God, who bought it in 1978, is still the same as it was some 2012 years ago.
That message is that Jesus Christ came to this earth, born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, never sinned, was crucified on the cross at Calvary. Then on the third day — literally and physically rose again, appeared to his disciples, and then ascended to his Father and now sits at the right hand of the Father. The message is also that anyone that decides that living the life of a hell-bound sinner is a lousy idea, now has a choice and a chance to spend the rest of his life in eternity with God; all he has to do —- is to accept that love gift given to him.
The mission of Grace Assembly of God for 35 years and now with Courage Church will be to continue to make that message known to those living in that area; that was the mandate given to that Church by the Lord and it is now the mandate of Courage Church. Now we as former attendees of Grace Assembly of God really wanted to see that Church carry on. However, I believe in appointed times by God. I believe that Grace Assembly of God was appointed a time to start and a time to end.
During that time, God literally transformed a good number of people, not only by salvation, but also by transformation, that comes by applying the Word of God to one’s life. I was one of those people, someone who came out of an awful mess at a Baptist Church in the area, and came to Grace Assembly of God and found out what serving Jesus was truly about. Which was not about, as I found out, wearing a suit and tie and carrying a huge Bible. But about Jesus and what he did on the cross of Calvary and what Jesus could do the heart of someone who is open to him coming and making needed changes.
It should be known, that there were some were in much worse shape than I was —- Drugs, broken families, broken marriages, children out of wedlock —- the usual sort of gruel that Satan and this World can offer, that most Churches, would turn their nose up at, and you know what? The Lord met these people, where they were and brought them out of their mess, transformed their lives and prospered them in mighty ways. All of that in a space of 35 years.
To the memory and legacy of Detroit Grace Assembly of God!
