Good move: Romney and Obama scrub campaign events ahead of hurricane sandy

This was a smart move on both campaign accounts and I will tell you why.

But first the story via ABC News’s Blog, The Note:

AVON LAKE, OHIO – Mitt Romney’s campaign has canceled fifteen events over the course of several days as national attention turns toward Hurricane Sandy. Romney told a crowd in this critical swing state that the storm is a time for Americans to come together.

“We’ve faced these kinds of challenges before and as we have it’s interesting to see how American’s come together and this, this looks like another time when we need to come together all across the country, even here in Ohio, and make sure that we give our support to the people who need it,” Romney said to a crowd of thousands gathered in a school gym to hear him speak.

President Obama has also cancelled campaign stops. He returned to Washington D.C. Monday. Instead of attending a rally in Florida with former President Bill Clinton, Obama briefly spoke from the White House and told Americans to listen to local authorities during the storm. In total, Hurricane Sandy has forced the cancellation of 27 campaign events between the two campaigns.

The reason I believe that this was incredibly smart, on the part of both campaigns is this right here: If you are in the area where this hurricane is about to strike; the last thing you want to hear is two guys arguing over who should be President. Plus, it would be perceived as downright slimy of any campaign; Republican or Democrat — to try and cash in politically on a natural disaster.

Romney and Obama both are doing the right thing by telling everyone to come together and ride the storm out. It is a good political move.

Oh, and another thing; Hey, Gingrich, Shut the hell up, you opportunistic jackass! This stupid bullshit right here, is why you are not, nor will you EVER be a candidate for President of the United States!  If you remember, I did, at first, support this jackass for President; until he pulled a boneheaded move of playing the Jew-Card against Romney — not to mention the fact that his so-called documentary that was a hit piece on Romney was riddled with errors.

Way I see it; if Gingrich cannot do any better than that; he ought to just stay out of the goddamned election. Sorry, I just absolutely loathe those who use Hurricanes and other such of misfortune of others to score political points. Angry

A libertarian makes the case for Romney

Law professor Brad Smith, former Chairman of the Federal Elections Commission makes the case for Mitt Romney over libertarian party candidate Gary Johnson.

One of my reasons is Gary Johnson’s and I guess the Libertarian Party’s position on immigration and illegal immigration. Both believe in open borders. Sorry, but that’s just wrong.

Hurricane Sandy already causing flooding

One more before I saunter off to bed at 4:23 am. I am keeping them weird hours again.

It appears that this massive storm is already causing flooding out in the eastern seaboard. Twitchy has the pictures.

It’s raining here in the Detroit area. We are getting that off the backwash of the storm. I heard something about that it could turn to SNOW! 😯

I’m not really, exactly, ready for that white fluffy stuff yet! 😥

Anyhow, Goodnight y’all. Please don’t let the world go to pieces, at least not until I wake up! 😉

Wow: What the heck happened to this Charles Foster Johnson?

I was searching through archives at a blog and landed at LGF.

I spotted this from Oct 31, 2007 at 8:42 am PDT over there:

The whole thing is nothing but a sleazy leftist smear.

Wow, 5 years and 2 days ago. Disappointed

How things change in the political world.  Sigh

I’ve changed too; left the idiocy of the left and at least tried to make a place for myself on the right.

Remember when Johnson had “stalker blogs?” and people who just didn’t like Charles, on the left? I do.

5 years, does not seem that long ago; but in politics and the blogging world, it is an eternity.

Which brings me to my last late-night thought. What is going to change, if Romney wins? I am talking about the blogging world. Who will move? Will there be defections? What will become of the Democratic Party, if Obama loses? What will become of the Republican Party, if Romney loses. What will become of the Blogosphere? Will it end?

Just those questions that one thinks about at 2 A.M. ThinkingConfused

Jazz Shaw and AllahPundit–Porn Peddlers?

Whoa! Surprise

……and here I thought AllahPundit was just a closeted homo beta male. Rolling on the floor

As for Jazzshaw…. No Comment. Dont tell anyone

But Seriously, Kevin over HillBuzz, reacts to this piece by JazzShaw saying it might not be over on November 6. For the record, I hope like heck that Jazz is wrong too Kevin. Praying

Quoting Jazz:

I suppose I should feel a little bit guilty for saying it, particularly on the pages of a politically oriented publication, but I’m pretty tired of this election. It’s been going on roughly since Christmas of 2008 – or at least it feels that way. The GOP primary was actually pretty good this year and it revved up both my interest and enthusiasm far more than the parade of munchkins on both sides four years earlier. But once it was done, the whole thing began to feel like one, long tedious slog through the summer and an exhausting swamp march to just get it all over with.

I felt that way in 2008, and a bit like that this time too. Although, it seemed a bit less lengthy this time around. More substance and less, well…. Parade?

Either way, it is the 28’th of October. We have nine days to go. Hopefully, things become a bit smoother, Romney wins by a huge margin and everything; outside of the left’s usual losing sorely —- gets back to some sort of normalcy. There are reports of people threatening to go ape-poop, if Obama loses. However, the realist in me, suspects that nothing is going to happen, people will vote and accept the results.

I just hope I am right about that “accepting the results” part. NailbitingWorriedPraying

Open Message to Judge Andrew Napolitano: You are history in my book!

I really do not like having to write stuff like this; but because I do support the Nation of Israel and its people, I must.

When Fox News first started having Judge Andrew Napolitano on its Network, I originally was thrilled to see that a Constitutionalist such as him, would be on a mostly Wilsonian Conservative network.  In fact, they gave Napolitano, his own show, which I thought was a welcome alternative to the Wilsonian Conservatism of Sean Hannity.  Fox ended up cancelling the show for a lack of ratings and I think because of his outspokenness about Wilsonian foreign policy.

However, as of recent, I have been noticing that Mr. Napolitano has been posting videos on his Facebook page that bother me greatly.

As of lately Mr. Napolitano, on his Facebook page has been posting videos by a group called “We Are Change.” I did some research into this group. This group is a very left leaning, anti-Semitic group of people. They are Anti-Jew, Anti-Israel and, quite bluntly, Anti-American.

One thing that I was horrified by; was this, which I saw on this group’s homepage:

“We are Change is awesome!”

-Cynthia McKinney

Yeah, that Cynthia McKinney. The one who tried to get a flotilla past Israel’s security.  The Cynthia McKinney who has made many, many Anti-Jewish, Anti-Israel and Anti-American statements during her career. Angry

I am just going to tell it like it is; I support Mr. Napolitano’s love of the Constitution, I also support his concern that Government is growing more and more out of control. However, if Judge Andrew Napolitano thinks that solving this problem requires a hatred of Israel, Jews and our Country as a whole and feels that associating with those sort of people and publishing their movies on his website is okay. Then he can do it without this bloggers support.

Therefore, as soon as I publish this posting, I will be going to the Bookstore of this blog and I will be removing Judge Andrew Napolitano’s books from my bookstore. For the record, I am not, nor have I ever been; a neoconservative. I never did support Bush and his decision to go into Iraq. I, like many others; felt it was the wrong thing to do. I reject Wilsonian foreign policy, as simply a bad idea. However, that has never equated, at least in my mind; as a hatred of the Jews or for the State of Israel or the idea of a State of Israel.

I once published a posting here that had one of “We are Change”’s videos in it, (Although, I cannot seem to find it… ThinkingConfused) I will not remove the posting. However, please know, I did not bother to do the research on the group and until now. I feel kind of stupid because of it. DohHowever, I shall just chalk it up as experience and know not to do it again.

In closing: As much as I respect the “The Judge.” I just cannot support him, as long as he is associating with people like “We are change.” Sorry, But it is anti-American in my book.

Confirmed: Google now executing searches on Blogs

This posting is for those who are worried about Google controlling our lives and sticking their noses into our business.

You might have heard that Google was cracking down on duplicate content, and that they tried to downplay that quite a bit.

Well, I would not settle for what they are telling us; because I have discovered that Google is now coming to my blog, every time I post something new to the blog and executing a search of my blog and the internet for duplicated content.

Here is proof this:

Google searching my blog, against their database. Click to make bigger.

Now, I am not much into conspiracy theories or anything like that, but why does Google feel the need to search my blog against their database? Now, if I were an Alex Jones type or an overly paranoid Conservative; I would be thinking that the Government is indexing my posts for investigation purposes or something worse. Now, I really do not believe that something like this would be occurring, but this searching my blog stuff really has me wondering.

The funny part is this; if they are doing this to protect their AdWords customers, I am not even on Adsense, I am on Adbrite for my banner ads. So, unless they are working together or something.

Either way, it does kind of creep me out and I would like some answers, as to why they feel the need to do this.

Update: DaTechGuy Links in! Thank You! 😀

I thought Rod Dreher said he was a Christian?

If so, why is he drinking and writing articles about beer?

This is the same Rod Dreher that used to write over at belief.net and go on about how Christian he really was.

So much for separation from the world. I guess I should not expect too much; he is, after all, one of those wishy-washy evangelicals.

How soon they forget:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. — (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV)

Seeing that Rod is a part of the wishy-washy evangelical crowd, he will most likely use Matthew 15:11 as his screwball defense of drinking. Which is, of course, wrong. because there, Christ was simply rebuking the Pharisees for their hypocrisy.  Which is basically, what I am doing here with Rod Dreher. I used to respect the guy, not anymore. Dreher might have been on point about Sarah Palin in 2008. But, as far as I am concerned; his Christianity is a joke — much like the rest of the evangelical community.

For more on Christians and drinking, see here.

“I thought the Bible says we are not to judge?”

Wrong. Matthew 7:1 was Christ’s message to the unbelievers, not to Christians, he was addressing the Pharisees. The Bible says that we believers are to judge righteous judgment. For more on that, see here.

I just simply feel that if Rod Dreher is going to pawn himself off as a so-called “Christian,” he ought to start acting like it or drop the charade.
