Quote of the Day

Early in Ronald Reagan’s second term, Bill Rusher, the publisher of National Review, was interviewing the president in the Oval Office for a documentary on the conservative movement.

Rusher asked how he would describe Barry Goldwater’s role.

Reagan thought a moment and replied: I guess you would have to call him the John the Baptist of our movement.

I resisted the impulse to lean in and ask, “Sir, if Barry Goldwater was John the Baptist, who would that make you?”

Fox News: CIA Operators requested help in Libya, were denied

This looks bad, no matter how you slice it.

Via Fox News:

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

There is a whole bunch more to this; so, I suggest you head on over and read the rest of that story.

Allow me to to be the one to say this; I said this early on twitter and I did not get any sort of reaction. So, I will just say it here. On top of the already obvious choice by the President to not allow these people to defend themselves, because of his fear angering Muslims and because he most likely empathizes with the radical Muslims and their cause — there is another huge elephant in the room as well. I publically accuse the President of the United States of America of allowing these four men, who worked at the American embassy in Libya —– to die — because they were white.

I am sorry, if this offends anyone, but the truth is the God-damned truth.

The President of the United States of America allowed these four men to die and would not allow them to defend themselves; because he is black and he harbors anti-white feelings. His attitude was basically this; those white guys are expendable. If those four men in Libya, had been black; President Obama would have been literally screaming from the rooftop of the White House for justice! However, because this is a situation with four White guys, the President could honestly care less. period, end of story.

If that was not bad enough, you have the Vice-President of the United States and the secretary of State acting like classless damned buffoons as well. Needless to say, November’s election cannot come fast enough and I believe this is going to cost the President dearly, in the form of the election. You simply do not allow people to die on your watch, and then expect to be reelected, it just does not happen.

If there ever was a reason for Mitt Romney to win this election; this is one of them. We need a new direction in this Country and we need it now. God, let Mitt win this one; so can get some self-respect back in this Country of ours and have a leader that makes decisions based upon an ability to lead and not…. race.

Speaking of Paltry: Al Gore’s Current TV goes up for sale

In this posting, I am going to violate my own advice that I gave out. Heck, I am a Conservative Blogger after all! Hee hee

Speaking of paltry amounts, Al Gore’s Current TV is going up for sale. The New York Post has the story:

Current TV, the ratings-challenged cable network started by former Vice President Al Gore, has put itself up for sale, The Post has learned.

“Current has been approached many times by media companies interested in acquiring our company,” CEO Joel Hyatt told The Post. “This year alone, we have had three inquiries. As a consequence, we thought it might be useful to engage expertise to help us evaluate our strategic options.”

Current is still interviewing investment banks and has yet to launch a formal sales process, said one source.

The service, launched in August 2005 after Gore had begun his crusade against global warming, has churned through programming and personnel as it tried to find its voice.

The channel started out as youth-centric and user-generated before going heavier on news and documentaries. Its latest incarnation is as a left-leaning cable news network, à la MSNBC.

In January 2011, it hired former “Countdown” anchor Keith Olbermann, after MSNBC canceled his contract. Then in March, Current also cut Olbermann loose.

The network now airs such shows as “Joy Behar: Say Anything!” and “Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer.”

Current, owned by Gore, Hyatt and some private backers, is in about 60 million homes, which could make it valuable to buyers looking for cable network distribution.

It gets about 12 cents a subscriber from pay-TV operators that carry it, or around $82 million last year, according to SNL Kagan. Ad revenue last year was estimated at just $16.9 million.

$16.9 million in Ad Revenue??!?! That’s it? Now, compared to a wee little website like mine, that is a whole lot of money. However, in the grand scheme of things, 16.9 million is quite paltry for revenue for a website of that caliber.

Now I could try and be charitable and say it is because of the economy or a few other clever excuses. However, because this is Al Gore and his brand of idiot progressivism; I am just going to tell the inconvenient truth here. This website is up for sale, because progressivism sucks, as does the idiotic global warming hysteria horse shit, that Al Gore is infamous for peddling. Also, ol’ Joey Hyatt is a bit of an a-hole too, just ask Keith Olbermann, who bolted from that sinking ship, when he realized he was working with a bunch of unprofessional idiots.

So, yeah, I am taking a bit of a perverse pleasure in hearing this news and blogging about it. You could say, that it warms the cackles of my rather cold Conservative heart. Devil

Yesterday: Air America

Today: Current TV

Tomorrow: The Democratic Party

It can be done, all we have to do is try.

That’s it?!?! — GDP grew 2% in 3rd Quarter

You gotta be kidding me! That’s the best that this President can do?

Via The NYT:

The economy grew at a annual rate of 2 percent in the third quarter, as more positive consumer activity and a healthier housing sector outweighed the effects of the drought, caution on the part of businesses and weaker exports.

The new figure, released by the Commerce Department on Friday, is the government’s first estimate of growth in the third quarter. It compares with the 1.3 percent pace of growth in the second quarter. In the first quarter of 2012, the economy also grew by 2 percent.

The report, stronger than expected, came amid fears that companies are clamping down on spending in the face of fiscal uncertainty in Washington, a recession in parts of Europe and a deceleration in demand from China. Some economists fear all these factors will keep a lid on any pickup in growth in the final quarter of 2012 and the first quarter of 2013.

Exports, for example, decreased by 1.6 percent in the latest quarter, compared to a 5.3 percent increase in the second quarter.

The slow pace of growth since the end of the last recession has been a dominant theme in the presidential race, with Republicans pointing to recent data as evidence that the economy is moving too slowly to make a meaningful dent in unemployment.

In recent days, government data and earnings reports from corporate bellwethers have suggested that companies are becoming more cautious. On Thursday, the Commerce Department reported that orders for nondefense capital goods, excluding aircraft, were flat in September, disappointing experts who had forecast a slight gain.

But there were several elements of good news for the White House in Friday’s report. Consumer spending rose at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 2 percent, compared to 1.5 percent in the second quarter. Residential investment increased at an annual rate of 14.4 percent in the third quarter, versus 8.5 percent in the second quarter, a positive sign for the housing sector.

Notice it says, “Strong than expected.” Another word for “unexpectedly!” Honestly, this is a paltry growth record. It is the best we are going to see, however; as long as we have a Marxist in the white house.

Needless to say, I happen to believe that America can do better than this; which is why I am voting for Mitt Romney.

Another good reason this President has to go

This guy lived like king, while people like me, suffered.

For the record, I do not blame this President for my issues. My issues pre-dated him in the White House. But, it’s the optics of the whole thing. The story is good, however. Go read.

That’s okay, I doubt this President will get reelected; you don’t kick your base to the curb repeatedly and mock the Netroots and get elected.
