Ross Perot endorses the Romney/Ryan ticket for President

If anyone would know the score, it would be H. Ross Perot. Because of this, Perot endorsed The Romney/Ryan ticket for President.

The quote comes from the Des Moines Register:

The American economy is stagnant. Economic growth is insufficient to create enough jobs for a country whose population is growing. The result is unemployment stuck over 8 percent for every single month of Barack Obama’s presidency. We have 23 million Americans who are looking for work and either can’t find a full-time job, can’t find a job at all, or who have given up looking. That is wrong. It’s not the way America ought to be.

At the same time, and not unrelated, is the extraordinary explosion of federal deficits and federal debt. In the last four years during Obama’s presidency, he’s added around $5 trillion to our national debt, more than any previous president. This was accomplished by successive federal budgets that each ran deficits exceeding $1 trillion a year. It is this massive deficit spending that threatens to undermine our future standard of living. To pay for our government’s massive debts, Washington’s profligacy, our children and grandchildren will be paying interest and principal on the nation’s debt for untold years into the future. That is wrong. It’s not the way America ought to be.

Even as we have engaged in runaway domestic spending, the country has been put on the path to massive cuts in the defense budget. President Obama’s own Secretary of Defense has called the proposed cuts “devastating” to our nation’s security. History teaches that the price of military weakness always exceeds the price of preparedness. And yet at a moment when turbulence is sweeping critical regions of the world, we are increasingly unprepared. That is wrong. It’s not the way America ought to be. …

For the past four years, we have squandered one opportunity after the next to turn things around. The longer we delay acting, the steeper the price we will have to pay.

Perot is very much correct in his assessment of the Country. Funny thing is, H.Ross Perot was saying some of these very things, about as long as Ron Paul. Like Ron Paul, he never got the respect of any party and was maligned by many, as some old crazy coot. Which, in this writers opinion, says much about our media and our Country. Kudos to Perot for putting political grudges behind him and endorsing a real leader.

Video: “Americans” by Kid Rock

How in the world did I ever miss this? This is very good, the language in it is a bit dicey. So, consider this your content warning. Yes, it has Sean Penn in it; but the message is very good. Especially the one about Afghan War. There are some hilarious scenes in it too, I won’t give anything away, but Conservatives and Liberals can laugh about this one. I am shocked that AllahPundit over at HotAir.com has not posted this.

Enjoy the video.

The hypocrisy of Glenn Reynolds

I give Glenn credit, okay? This article here has a point. Obama is running roughshod over the constitution. Fine. Challenge it.

But when I see this being written over on Glenn’s blog, I have to laugh:

THAT ANNOYING CONSTITUTION:  Keeps getting in Obama’s way. But that hasn’t stopped him.  A great article in the Washington Free Beacon discusses all the ways in which the Obama Administration is evincing hostility toward, and disregard of, the Constitution’s Article II limitations on executive power.

You mean like Bush did, when he invaded the sovereign Nation of Iraq, over the objections of the United Nations? I mean, all you would have to do is swap out, Obama for Bush and it would be the same very thing. I mean, do not get me wrong — I am glad that Iraq turned out like it did, although, not perfect; it is most likely better off than it was when Saddam was in power. However, when I see Wilsonian War Hawks showing their utter hypocrisy over big Government and abuse of executive power ; I tend to get a little damned annoyed about it.

Furthermore, when I see read sane, and supposedly rational, White Conservatives acting like President Obama is carrying out some sort of national negro Marxist takeover of America; I tend to think the Romney is going to lose and lose badly. I mean between this and the stupid I wrote about earlier; I am getting the point of not even wanting to defend this movement anymore. I am not giving up yet, but it is getting really hard to even say that I am among them.  I am not happy with the direction of the Democratic Party and how far to the left that they have went here since 2007, but Jesus H. Christ; do the Republicans have to go off the deep end too?

It just annoys me, that these people are bitching about Obama; when President George W. Bush did the SAME very thing and it was okay. However, Because Obama is black and a Democrat, it is somehow a National emergency. I mean, come on people, let’s get real here. How is Obama any different than Bush? I mean, besides his skin color?

This sort of Constitutional concern trolling is quite humorous, considering the 8 years with Bush that many, including me; had to endure.

Again, it is seriously time to get real and quit with the stupidity.

In Loving Memory: Ada Arlene Quinn

I just recently lost a family member and I got permission from her daughter Sandy to post this tribute.

Ada Arlene Quinn – My second cousin or my grandfather’s, Brother’s Daughter

Arlene, as we called her,was my Grandfather’s Brother’s Daughter. This would be on my Mother’s side of the family.  She was born on August 30, 1946 and passed away on October 8, 2012. She was one of the strongest women than I know, outside of my own Mother. I will always remember the kindness that she and her parents, showed to my family, when we would go to Dalton, Georgia every year.

This music video, which happens to be a personal favorite of mine, is dedicated to her, and the legacy of love that she leaves with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rest in peace, Arlene and save me a place at the throne; I will be with you in a little while. Angel

My continued prayers for the Quinn family, during this very difficult time.

Moderator-gate…..again?

As much as it is going to sound a bit funny coming from my side of the political fence. I actually feel sorry for these brave idiots people, who volunteer to moderate these debates. I mean, as morbid as this might sound; I liken it to a cow that volunteers to go the slaughterhouse for the rest of the herd. (…and no that is NOT a crack at Crowley’s weight! DON’T….EVEN….GO….THERE! SurpriseNot talkingNot listening)

Anyway,  it seems another Moderator is under the….gun?

Via Time:

Quote:

In a rare example of political unity, both the Romney and Obama campaigns have expressed concern to the Commission on Presidential Debates about how the moderator of this Tuesday’s town hall has publicly described her role, TIME has learned.

While an early-October memorandum of understanding between the Obama and Romney campaigns suggests that CNN’s Candy Crowley would play a limited role in the Tuesday-night session, Crowley, who is not a party to that agreement, has done a series of interviews on her network in which she has suggested that she will assume a broader set of responsibilities. As Crowley put it last week, “Once the table is kind of set by the town-hall questioner, there is then time for me to say, ‘Hey, wait a second, what about X, Y, Z?’”

In the view of the two campaigns and the commission, those and other recent comments by Crowley conflict with the language the campaigns agreed to, which delineates a more limited role for the debate moderator. The questioning of the two candidates is supposed to be driven by the audience members — likely voters selected by the Gallup Organization. Crowley’s assignment differs from those of the three other debate moderators, who in the more standard format are supposed to lead the questioning and follow up when appropriate. The town-hall debate is planned for Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. E.T. at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.

According to the debate-format language in the agreement, after each audience question and two-minute responses from the candidates, Obama and Romney are expected to have an additional discussion facilitated by Crowley. Yet her participation is meant to be limited. As stated in the document, “In managing the two-minute comment periods, the moderator will not rephrase the question or open a new topic … The moderator will not ask follow-up questions or comment on either the questions asked by the audience or the answers of the candidates during the debate or otherwise intervene in the debate except to acknowledge the questioners from the audience or enforce the time limits, and invite candidate comments during the two-minute response period.” The memo, which has been obtained by TIME, was signed by lawyers for the two campaigns on Oct. 3, the day of the first presidential debate in Denver.

Good point

As much as I hate to link to this site, for some very good reasons. This guy has a point when reacting to this:

Many of my nerdly friends find these protests distressing. They’re not thinking hard enough.

If a major publishing house in New York decided to put out a special edition of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and made it available for free download on every Kindle on the planet we could expect lots of protests.

Google pretends that it is just a platform, not a publisher. But of course Google does scrub YouTube of videos that break copyright laws or other decency laws. Nerds just don’t think that propaganda against religious minorities, or at least these religious minorities, is indecent. For Google, content from NBC Universal is sacrosanct, The Prophet is not.

The digital-age fanatics talk endlessly of how “revolutionary” their products are. And Google isn’t exactly shy about its own desire to see religiously-inspired laws go down across the world. They shouldn’t be so shocked when the counter-revolutionaries show up to protest them.

Nerdly? That’s a new word on me. ThinkingConfusedI dont know I think he meant nerdy. But, I know what he meant. Otherwise, yes, he does have a very good point.

Videos: Why do Conservatives do stupid stuff like this?

Good Lord…. Rolling Eyes I will never understand, in a million years, why Conservatives feel the need to do insanely stupid stuff like this. Never! At wits end

Via Mediaite:

He said spears, “spear chucker” is a underhanded racist term, about black people.

Update:  After I hit publish, I sat here and thought about it for a second and decided to come back and add this update. I do not believe for one lousy second that Mark Sanford would have intentionally said a racist statement towards Obama at all. I think that, if anything, Tommy Christopher is trying to race-bait here a little. I believe, if anything, Mark Sanford simply just used a phrase like spears, because it was the first thing that came to his mind. Spears, Arrows, it is all the same. Again, I believe Tommy is baiting here, and I believe he is getting paid my Mediaite to do so. It is a pity, because I used to kind of like the guy a bit. Too bad, he is posting crap like that to make money. It is yellow and cheap and he should be ashamed. Maybe next time, when he has a heart attack, we on the right, won’t be so nice. Just saying. Frustrated

Now this one here, which comes via JSOnline, yes, this is racism, plain and simple and this little jerk, ought to be banned from the party….FOR LIFE!:

Guys, listen, please? Time out This is not helping Mitt Romney at all. In fact, it is hurting our cause, badly. Doh We do not need to do this sort of crap, at all. Obama’s record is plenty.

I just do not understand it, at all. Not talking

Also too, before anyone says, “What about you?” To that, I simply say this, What about about me? I am not a Republican. I am voting Mitt Romney, but I am just a lowly, low traffic blogger. These people are in the party and are supposed to be representing their cause. Needless to say, there is a massive fail going on here!

Unreal. Rolling EyesLoser If Mitt Romney loses this election, it will not be because he did not have any good ideas; it will because people in his own damned Party screwed him out of winning the White House.

Update — 7/25/2013: For some reason, this blog entry is popping up in my traffic window. For the record, Mark Sanford simply said that Obama was throwing spears of fear. He did not use a well-known racist term for blacks, which is, for what it is truly worth, “Spear-Chucker.” Anyone that thinks that he did is: 1. an idiot 2. a race-baiter.
