This is what is wrong with the Church today

One of the biggest things that is wrong with the Church today is apostasy. A classic example is this below, this was written some woman who had some sort of “spiritual crisis.”:

4. Contemplative Spirituality

Okay, here’s where I get in trouble.

One of the contemporary church’s problems is its rejection of Christianity’s contemplative heritage. As vital as a rich intellectual life and the study of theology are to our faith, information alone cannot yield produce transformation. Fortunately, our tradition brims with the wisdom of contemplatives and, dare I say mystics, who wrote about the why’s and how’s of spiritual union with God.

Francis, a mystic himself, would advise the present-day church to revisit the practices and teachings of John Cassian, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Thomas Merton, Brother Lawrence, Jean Pierre de Caussade, Simone Weil and Evelyn Underhill, among others. People are hungry not only for good biblical teaching but for rich experiential encounters with the living God. Are we ready to lay aside our prejudice against the teachings of our contemplative mothers and fathers?

via Who is the most incredible Christian ever? | Fox News.

Sorry, but the only person that I try to pattern my life after is Jesus Christ. He and he alone is the basis of my faith. Furthermore, anyone that wants to have an honest discussion about this heretical nonsense, I would recommend them to start RIGHT HERE.

If people want to know why society is on the downturn, and shootings are on the rise; this is a good place to start. Churches today do not preach the Word of God, they preach garbage and this is a good example of that.

I leave you with the Bible:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:1-15 KJV)

I agree with Kevin Swanson: Feminism is simply not Christian

I happen to catch this over at Right Wing Watch, which I follow on Facebook; and I hate to admit it, but these guys hit the nail on the head.

Here is the part that I wanted to zero in on: (You can listen to the entire podcast by clicking here. I wanted to present the entire podcast, but I couldn’t hotlink it with my Podcast plugin.)

I really hated to use Right Wing Watch’s video, but it was all I could get.

Now, the money quote is here and I will high the part that I have said all along, about Sarah Palin and her ilk. It is not just her, however; it is people like Michelle Malkin and others. (Not Ann Coulter, she is not a Feminist at all…)

Swanson: Now remember, the goal is that these women have to be independent. The goal is lots and lots of birth control. The goal is lots and lots and lots of fornication. The goal is abortion. The day-after pill will help. And it will help a lot. Remember, the goal is to get that girl a job because she needs no stinkin’ husband, she’s got the fascist corporation and government-mandated insurance programs and socialist welfare that will take care of her womb to tomb. Who needs a cotton-pickin’ husband? Who needs a family? That’s pretty much the worldview that’s dominating, my friends. That’s what the college is all about.

Buehner: Because her feminist professors have told her her husband will abuse her, she will be like a slave to him. Instead she will just go to the slave market and sell herself, at least sell her body, to the highest bidder. See, that’s much, much better!

Swanson: And Dave, you talk about the two kinds of feminists now, this is your new division, you say there’s two kinds of feminists.

Buehner: There are.

Swanson: All of them want to be free from the family. They want to be free from the husband. Who needs a stinkin’ husband? Who wants to be submitting to a husband and find security in the family when she can find security in the state or a sugar daddy for the four years that she needs to get through college?

Buehner: Right. Actually, you’re talking about perhaps even a third stream of feminism. There’s the Sarah Palin kind of feminism that wants to have a husband, just not one to submit to. And she still wants to..

Swanson: But talk about the two forms of feminism you see that are rising today.

Buehner: Right, there are two forms of feminism, and it actually has to do with a division of how attractive a woman is. So, you have the group that is very attractive, they’re in the sororities, they’re gonna be in the beauty contests. They’re actually going to get the good jobs. They’re going to leverage their attractiveness in the marketplace because it has a market value. Marketing. It helps market who you are. They’re going to proceed, now they will probably some of them become the Sarah Palin-style feminists, they’ll get themselves a husband, but they’ll never be dependent on the husband, they’ll never submit to the husband, in fact they will use their power probably to make their husband submit to them.

Swanson: Okay, so you have the cute feminists.

Buehner: Right, you have the good-looking ones.

Swanson: Well, who are the others?

Buehner: Well, the other ones are those who we should say are, um, attractive-deficient. And they have not been…

Swanson: That’s nicely put. Attractively challenged.

Buehner: Attractively challenged. Optically challenged. These are the kinds that will look for careers mostly likely in academia.

Swanson: Now, just to say, they’re ugly. They’re the feminazis that Rush Limbaugh likes to refer to.

Buehner: Right, right, and they’re generally very angry about it because their attractive…or their lack of attractiveness has not given them access to power that they wanted in the marketplace. So they can get jobs…

Swanson: And they’re certainly not going to get a lot of power sexually.

Buehner: No, but they can get jobs in the government bureaucracy, they can work as an FDA administrator, or you can actually run the EPA if you want, or academia. Academia’s actually the best place because you can be angry, ugly and you can also get tenure. It’s great, it’s the big trifecta.

Swanson: You’re gonna make some people mad about what you’ve just said. There will be some very angry feminists.

Buehner: You mean there will be angrier angry feminists.

Swanson: Angrier angry feminists are gonna come at you for what you just said, and probably from our listening audience, because if we tick anybody off we’re ticking two different folks off, the feminists and the homosexuals, they can’t stand this kind of stuff.

Buehner: Neither one of them have a high regard for the family or for the Word of God.

Swanson: That’s true, yeah, you’re right, you’re right, you’re right. And they’re the ones who are destroying society.

Buehner: The systems we are living in are coming down before our very eyes, the fiat currency won’t last, the corporate economies, they’re going to collapse. What’s going to last will be those who go back to a biblical worldview. I believe history will go back to this period of time and will look at feminism and say there was a time in which women lost the love of their children. They no longer cared about having children, they no longer loved their children, they no longer loved their husbands, where for all of history women very much cared about protecting the family. Now they only cared about themselves. They were riled up into a froth about how they were victims of society, patriarchal society, and they decided to become selfish, narcissistic, family-destroying whores.

Now, I quoted all of that, because I wanted to make a point. These guys are absolutely correct and it is something that I have know for a very long time. Feminism is not a Liberal problem, it is now a Conservative problem. The Bible clearly states that a Woman is to submit to her husband, in more than one place. What has happened is that Feminism has crept into the Conservative and yes, Republican circles. Sarah Palin in a perfect example of that sort of so-called “Conservative Feminism.”

Here are the Bible verses that back that up:

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. — (Ephesians 5:22-23 KJV)

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
(Colossians 3:18 KJV)

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. (1 Timothy 2:12-15 KJV)

The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. — (1 Corinthians 7:4 KJV)

This is not anything new, this is the Word of God; and the doctrines in it have not changed at all, nor will they ever. The World might change, Politics might change, Republican Party might change and the Conservative movement might change —- but the Word of God, it never changes and it never conforms to us and our vain doctrines. We, if anything, should conform to it.

May The Lord Jesus Christ Bless and Keep John McTernan

For not forsaking the old paths and having the courage to speak the truth, even in the face of criticism from those who supposedly preach tolerance, except when it clashes with their worldviews.

Something that I can relate to, and I am sure Dr. McTernan can too:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. (John 15:18-25 KJV)

May the Lord Jesus hold John McTernan in the palm of his hand, during this time of adversity. Praying

Why would Baptists even remotely want to do this?

Sorry, but this is absolutely stupid.

As a former Pentecostal Christian turned independent Baptist; I can tell you that these two group do not even think the same. One relies on the Word of God and considers it the final authority. The other believes that the Bible is a simply a guide and that God is somehow still speaking.

It is a pairing of two different ways of thinking. It’s a match made in hell.

Baptists should know better.

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. — 2 Corinthians 6:15-17

Baptist Christian Missionary is in need of help

I don’t normally post such stuff, but I am a Christian and I am a Baptist. Sometimes there are some things that are bigger than politics.

This news comes via the Victory Baptist Press, which sends me e-mails of various stories of interest:

John Gray, veteran missionary to Papua New Guinea, is still recovering from typhoid and is temporarily in Brisbane, Australia, with his wife, Mary, the daughter of Dr. Don Green of Lansing, Michigan,  who is there for treatments fighting for her life from liver and lung cancer.  Their medical expenses have the Grays in an emergency need. John is in a desparate situation: The way they operate in Australia is that they don’t let the bill get really big.  They expect payment or they discontinue treatments. That’s why this is so important!

From the website of Missionary John Gray:

The following is a synopsis of my battle with my cancer.

Let me take you back to the beginning of this journey….

Our daughter Ilava graduated from the 12th Grade in December, 2005. In the preparations for everything (including my parents coming for the celebration) I did a lot of cleaning. I began to experience pain in my chest and felt it was only a pulled muscle. When the pain persisted, I flew to the city during our April school break. I had a mammogram and a tumour was found in my left breast. It was removed and found to be only fibrocystic.

However, his outlook is to be commended:

Our lives are in God’s hands. He is in total control. His grace and strength have been abundant and constant. We serve an unfailing God. He has met our every need through the lives of others. Especially through the folk of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. He is faithful! Our faith is in His plan for our lives. He is Able!

Now, I know that times are hard, and that everyone is tightening their belts — especially me. But if there is a chance that medicine can save this person. Don’t you think that this man deserves that chance? I do. So, head on over and give a man of God a chance at life.

I always believe that the missionaries of this would are the ones who are actually following the mandate set forth by Christ, which says:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV)

This man has done that, he has a great reward coming, when his time is due. I am quite sure that he has much more to do here, before his time. So, head on over and make a big donation.

Thank You so much. 🙂

Beware of Gail Riplinger

I received this via e-mail. It appears that Gail Riplinger, so-called advocate of the KJV has a serious problem….

I have one thing to say to Mrs. Riplinger, if she wants to try and sue me.

Bring it on bitch!

Here’s the story:

GAIL RIPLINGER THREATENS TO SUE DR. AND MRS. WAITE

January 15, 2010 (David Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061, 866-295-4143, fbns@wayoflife.org; for instructions about subscribing and unsubscribing or changing addresses, see the information paragraph at the end of the article) –

Gail Riplinger, the favorite female preacher of a shocking number of Independent Baptists, is now threatening to sue the elderly Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Waite. She has demanded that he (and me, as well) make immediate and public retractions and apologies.

I have published two articles about Riplinger in recent weeks, “Gail Riplinger’s Lies to Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Waite” (November 24, 2009) and “Gail Riplinger’s Lies to the Waites Part 2” (December 14, 2009). These were based on published reports by the Waites. The essence of these articles is as follows:

In 2007, the Waites received uncertified reports that Riplinger had been divorced twice and married thrice. On October 24 of that year, they called her to inquire about the matter, and Mrs. Riplinger expressly told them that she had been married only once, to her current husband Mike Riplinger. Wanting to be certain that she wasn’t misunderstood and wanting to be absolutely sure of the matter, Mrs. Waite posed the question in a variety of ways, but Gail strongly denied that she had ever had any other marriages. As a result, Dr. Waite defended her at the Princeton King James Bible Conference in January 2008. When someone inquired at a question-answer session if Riplinger was divorced, Waite said that he had confirmed directly from her that this was not true. In June 2008, the Waites, having decided to pursue the matter further, obtained certified copies of Gail Riplinger’s three marriage licenses and two divorce papers.
