Defending real Christianity from Daniel McCarthy’s smug papist idiocy

I have quite a number of sites in my RSS reader, one of which is the decidedly anti-Semitic — to the point of the publisher of the attending an occupy AIPAC demonstration —The American Conservative. In it today, I happen to see a blog posting by a one papist Daniel McCarthy, in which he basically accuses the Protestant Christian world of supposedly “loosing it’s mind.”

He then goes to blather on about how much more vastly superior the liturgical version of Christianity and the Roman Catholic Church is to the knuckle-dragging Bible Believing Protestant Christians. Which, in this writer’s opinion, says a bit, about this man and the condition of his heart. Furthermore, it does reenforce my belief that Roman Catholics are not Christians at all. I know that might bother some, but I have Bible scripture to back that up, as I am sure you know.

My direct response to Mr. McCarthy is: I suppose Priests, which are forbidden in the Bibledefending the abusers of children, as being victims, is the sign of how much more superior your papist doctrine and supposed “Christianity” is to ours? Furthermore, I suppose that the Roman Catholic Church Inquisition towards various people, including my Baptist forefathers was a sign of the vastly superior papist doctrine and so-called “christianity” to ours?  Also, I suppose that the systematic sexual abuse of young children, and coverup and justification by the Roman Catholic Church and its so-called “priests” is proof positive of the vastly superior papist doctrine and so-called “christianity” of the Roman Catholic Church? I really would love to see Mr. papist McCarthy answer these questions.

You see this, is why I have such an issue with so-called Christian bloggers, especially ones who are papists. The Bible has a word for it, it is Highmindedness. (It is defined here.) It is the very silly idea that somehow, his Church, which, by the way, is riddled with false doctrine; is somehow vastly superior than anyone else. This is why I steadfastly refuse to ever own or write at a “Christian Blog.” For the record, this blog is not a Christian Blog at all. It is a Conservative political blog, that happens to be owned by a Christian.  This is because I will be the first to tell you, that we Independent Fundamentalist Baptists are far from perfect, as recent events have proven. Although, I will be the first to say, that there were many of we Fundamental Baptists, including myself, who saw that recent coming from a mile away.

In closing: While the title of this blog posting might suggest otherwise; this should not be taken as an ad hominem attack against Mr. McCarthy. But rather a defense of Protestant Christianity and Fundamentalist Christianity from those who have an agenda against it. A perfect example of that agenda is in the writings of Mr. McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy and those of his ilk have tried to discredit protestant Christianity for years and this is proof of that. Well, someone has to stand up for those who choose not to submit to the utterly Satanic and without Christ Roman Catholic Church and it may as well be me.

Chuck Baldwin minces no words about Paul Ryan

I have to like Chuck Baldwin, he does not mince words:

It has happened again. We go through this every four years, and every four years the vast majority of “conservatives” fall for it. This is such a broken record. What did Forrest Gump say: “Stupid is as stupid does”? And wasn’t it P.T. Barnum who said, “There’s a sucker born every minute”? Well, here we go again.

Neocon RINO George H.W. Bush picks “conservative” Dan Quayle. “Conservative” G.W. Bush picks neocon RINO Dick Cheney. Neocon RINO John McCain picks “conservative” Sarah Palin. Now, neocon RINO Mitt Romney picks “conservative” Paul Ryan. As long as there is one “conservative” on the ticket, mushy-headed “conservatives” across the country will go into a gaga, starry-eyed, hypnotic trance in support of the Republican ticket. I’m convinced that if Lucifer, himself, was the GOP Presidential candidate, he would get the support of the Religious Right and Republican “conservatives” as long as he selected a reputed “conservative” to join his ticket. And, by the way, the notable “conservative” wouldn’t think twice about joining such a ticket, either, I’m convinced.

Let’s just get this on the record: since 1960, there have only been two Presidential nominees (from the two major parties) who were not controlled by the globalist elitists. One was a Democrat, John F. Kennedy; the other was a Republican, Ronald Reagan. Kennedy was shot and killed; Reagan was shot. Every other President, Democrat or Republican, has been totally controlled, which is why none of them have done diddly-squat to make a difference in the direction of the country. On the issues that really matter, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are just more of the same!

via Chuck Baldwin — Paul Ryan: More Of The Same.

He goes on to say that Ron Paul is the only one; and I disagree with that. However, I will say this; he is right about Romney and Ryan. Which is I am voting for:

Goode/Clymer in 2012

He will not win the election

But voting for anything else is simply Anti-American

Chick-Fil-A support day a success, Martinsberg, Va Chick-Fil-A gets bomb threat

Legal Insurrection, InstaPundit, and Twitchy are reporting that the Chick-Fil-A support event was a success.

But, there was a bomb threat at a Chick-Fil-A in Martinsberg, Va. The Martinsberg Journal reports:

MARTINSBURG – Police and fire crews closed down the Chick-fil-A on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg for nearly three hours following a bomb threat that was called in just before 1 p.m. today.

The caller mentioned that a “device” had been placed within the restaurant. The building was evacuated, but was deemed safe at about 3:45 p.m. after no bomb or any other type of device was discovered.

Martinsburg City Police and the Martinsburg Fire Department personnel investigated the scene, along with Berkeley County Sheriff Kenny Lemaster. A National Park Ranger with a canine unit arrived at the scene at approximately 2:45 p.m. to assist, and a second from the West Virginia State Police arrived later as well.

According to a release from police, the location of the call was traced and the investigation is following up on leads about the male caller.

“We prosecute to the fullest extent that the law allows for anyone making these types of threats,” the release states.

Hmmmmm… Bomb threat….male voice… I wonder, was Ed Brayton home all day? I’m just sayin. 😯

I would have participated in this as well; but Chick-Fil-A does not have a location in my area. 🙁 So, I could not go show my support.

Video: Bristol Palin’s son demonstrates Palin family’s blatant hypocrisy

This comes from somewhere that I normally would not link to in a million years.

This video does not sadden me, it angers me greatly. All during the 2008 election, the left contended that this family were nothing more than two-bit fakes, when it came to social Conservatism. It was first suspected when Bristol came out as pregnant. It was also was confirmed, when Bristol and her younger sister and some friends, made some rather nasty comments on a posting in the comments section of her Facebook page. Now, there is this above.

When will Fox News, and the rest of the conservative community finally say that enough is enough and finally wake up to the fact that entire Palin family; are nothing more than a bunch of two-bit charlatans, who are using the Conservative Christian banner as nothing more than an means to make money? I have been a born again Christian for 30 years. (I have not always acted like it and even spent time far away from the Lord. But I digress. ) I have spent more than my fair share of time, in Church and around Christians. The Christians that I know, do not talk like that, and they do not allow their children to talk like that either! Because if their talked like that; they would either get their mouths washed out with soap or, they would get their little behinds spanked. I can also say that this was the case with yours truly too.

Am I being judgmental? No, I am simply saying that there is a Godly way of raising a child and it is quite obvious to me, that Bristol Palin is not doing that; and because she is such a public figure, she most certainly should be held to a higher standard, than most parents. What I also find to be absolutely laughable, is that somehow or another; Bristol Palin is being held up as some sort of Christian role model for young Christian girls. Further more, that child did not just make up that little word up; take two guesses where he learned it from and your first one does not count. In other words, the child is repeating what he heard his mommy say!

I leave you with this:

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 KJV)

and…

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. (Proverbs 22:15 KJV)

Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. (Proverbs 23:13-14 KJV)

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Proverbs 29:15-18 KJV)

This, according to Word of God, is where Bristol Palin is a massive failure. Modernist Christians will disagree with this, of course; because they reject the Word of God as the final authority. But we Baptist’s know this to be very true. Another thought too; it is quite obvious that Bristol Palin, much like her mother, is a feminist, which is a liberal progressive idea — and it very much shows in her child rearing.

UPDATE: Bristol says he did not make a “gay” slur as Huffpo reported, but rather used the word, which Van Halen called “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.” Just the same, the kid should get its mouth washed out with soap. Bristol writes this for a silly excuse:

Lifetime filmed over 12 months (on and off) and they caught a moment on film that would cause any parent to be red in the face. Tripp is always surrounded by adults – around the campfires with cousins and their friends, at the shop with my dad and his snowmachine buddies. He’s apparently picked up some language that I’d prefer he not use. On national television or at home.

I got twenty bucks that says she uses the language too. Also too, some Christian family. I was under the impression that all of Palin family were Christians. Either way, it’s a flimsy excuse. Just more perfect example of a fatherless child and a lousy mother.

Baptist Pastor Dennis Terry introducing Rick Santorum, tells liberals “Get out of America!”

I suppose you all might be expecting me to cheer this guy. Well, surprise! No, not this time. In fact, I even feel a bit sorry for Rick Santorum.

What am I talking about?

This: (Via Right Wing Watch)

Phew! Grumpy old feller ain’t he? Well, he is a Baptist and he is old and he is from Louisiana.  I would tend to guess that this sort of thing is basically par for the course; at least with him anyhow. In other words, yeah, he is one of ours. 🙄

For the record, I do not believe for a minute that Rick Santorum believes any of that stuff that Dennis Terry was preaching from his bully pulpit. In fact, he said as much yesterday; over to you ABC NEWS:

MOLINE, Ill. – Rick Santorum told reporters Monday he did not agree with a controversial statement about non-Christians made by a Louisiana pastor at a church service Santorum attended Sunday in Greenwell Springs, La.

[…..]
After an event in Moline Monday evening, Santorum was asked repeatedly by reporters if he agreed with the pastor’s words.

“If the question is, do I agree with his statement that America shouldn’t do that? No, if he was speaking for himself he’s obviously allowed to believe what he wants to believe but, obviously I believe in freedom of religion and all religions are welcome and should be. I think I’ve made that pretty clear throughout my campaign that I believe very much in freedom of religion, and folks should be able to worship whoever they want to worship and bring their thoughts in the public square and have at it and give them the opportunity to make their faith claims, and make their claims to reason and any other claims. That’s what America’s all about. As far as I’m concerned they should be here and make their arguments the best they can,” said Santorum.

Santorum said he did not clap when the pastor made these comments.

“I didn’t clap when he said that. I do remember him saying that, I said, well, I wasn’t quite sure he was saying it for himself, I wasn’t quite listening to everything to be honest with you. But I wasn’t sure whether he was speaking for himself or speaking generally, but I didn’t clap when he said that because it’s not how I feel.”

Here is why I feel a bit sorry for Rick Santorum. Because quite frankly, there are times when these guys who are running for President, will find themselves in awful situations like these and to be quite honest with you; there is not much he can do about it. I mean, it would be totally disrespectful for Mr. Santorum to try and interrupt, or worse, get up and leave. Now, I am sure liberals would think he should have done that; but some things are just best left alone.

For the record, and this is for the Conservatives and Republicans who will actually read this; I do not fault this Pastor for what he believes. Pastor Dennis Terry is an old salt from the America that once was; and I do not think he should be punished for his remarks, no more than I would want a far-leftist liberal Democrat punished for he believes. Like Rick Santorum said, that is what makes America great, diversity of opinion and beliefs. If we all believed alike, this Country would be more boring than watching a Martha Stewart peep show.

I have been known to fault Rick Santorum on many things; one being his big Government Statist stupidity. But, this one here, I just cannot muster the outrage. I mean, it just is not his fault that Pastor Dennis Terry believes the way that he does.

Confirmed: Jerry Falwell was a flaming hypocrite, when it came to Biblical separation

First of all, what you have to understand is that, as a Christian, I am a Fundamentalist Baptist, of the David Cloud stripe. (He is not my Pastor or guru or anything like that, I simply agree with about 99% of his writings.) For all intents and purposes, this here, can be considered my Statement of Faith.

I have for many years held the belief, that Jerry Falwell was a not a true-blue Fundamentalist Baptist, but rather a “go along to get along” soft evangelical that would sell a Fundamentalist up the river for the cause of  political and religious unity. This posting in the Christian Post about a book that has come out, confirms what I suspected for years:

WASHINGTON – Michael Sean Winters, a biographer of the late Jerry Falwell, said that the controversial preacher and Christian Right leader helped remove the stigma conservative Protestants had working alongside Roman Catholics and Mormons for common political goals.

Winters, author of God’s Right Hand: How Jerry Falwell Made God a Republican and Baptized the American Right, was a guest speaker at an event Monday that carried the same title as his book. The event was sponsored by the Center for American Progress and the People For the American Way Foundation (PFAWF).

“He dispensed with this idea that you could not be yoked with nonbelievers or non-fundamentalists,” said Winters to The Christian Post.

“[Falwell] was very proud of the fact that even in the early years of the Moral Majority it was 30 percent conservative Roman Catholic.

[……]

At the discussion-based presentation, Winters talked to those gathered about how one of the amiable qualities of Falwell was his “capacity for friendship.”

“He has this incredible capacity for friendship, which extended to people who were not like-minded,” said Winters.

Winters noted as examples that Falwell’s friendships included people like Ted Kennedy, a liberal political figure, and Larry Flynt, a pornographer who fought Falwell in the courts over issues of defamation and libel.

“Every time he was in Los Angeles, Jerry Falwell would always visit Larry Flynt,” said Winters.

“When Falwell died, Flynt wrote this very moving tribute in the L.A. Times how ‘we agreed on nothing but he was my friend.'”

This above proves what I pretty much knew about Jerry Falwell. To be fair; I should point out that this was not always the case with Falwell. At one time, Falwell did preach the hardcore Fundamentalist stance on Biblical separation at one time. However, as Falwell became involved with politics, he toned down his message of separation. This was because Falwell knew that his hardcore stance on Biblical separation would not be popular with the Republican Party establishment. I also feel the need to point out that Jerry Falwell was a dishonest snake; I say this because of his baldfaced lies that he told to then-Pastor Jim Bakker, when he had his troubles with his Ministry. Falwell simply wanted the television network and nothing else. When Falwell saw that he could not get said network, he pushed that ministry into bankruptcy and washed his hands of it.

Colorado Megachurch Mulls Split from denomination over gay marriage

Stories like this warm my heart on a Sunday:

A church in Colorado Springs, Colo., that has 4,000 members and was established in 1872 will informally vote Sunday to decide whether the congregation should leave their denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA), over same-sex marriage.

First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs will vote Sunday afternoon and later may seek to join the conservative Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians (ECO), launched by conservative Presbyterians in January over the denomination’s vote last year to lift its longtime ban on gay clergy, The Gazette reported.

After PC(USA) removed the constitutional requirement for clergy to live “in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, or chastity in singleness” last May, dozens of congregations left the denomination. Covenant Presbyterian Church of Ligonier, Pa., parted ways late last year. In Ohio, four churches that were once part of the Miami Valley Presbytery also voted overwhelmingly to leave PC(USA). Churches in Washington, Wisconsin and California have also voted to cut ties.

Nothing makes me happier than to see Christians actually standing up for what they believe in. Too many times, Christians will take the path of least resistance and that cheapens the gospel, if you ask me.  Because of that, to see a big Church like this, much less a Presbyterian Church of this size; take a stand of this sort, is rather surprising and refreshing to tell you the truth.

My Prayers are with those who dare to stand for they, as believers, know to be right.

Message to Rod Dreher: God had nothing to do with it

(H/T to @TAC)

Rod Dreher relays a horrible story about a newborn being involved in a terrible accident, which claimed the lives of the baby’s Mom, Dad, and older brother. This he says could make him not believe anymore.

I do not want to sound preachy on this blog. This blog was not intended to be a “Christian” blog. But rather a “political” blog, owned by someone of who is somewhat of the Faith; although, I will be the first to admit to all my readers — I suck horribly at it.

Having said all of that; because I am a Bible-believer and I happen to know why things like this happen, I will simply say this — Things like this happen, because of what happened in the Garden of Eden.  Adam and Eve messed it up and messed it up bad. They were perfect spiritual beings and because of their disobedience to God the Father, they became fallen creatures. As a result of that, everyone, is born into sin. Because of that, bad things like this happen — all the time.

Allow me to quote from the Bible on this very subject, it is found in the first book of the prophet Moses, called Genesis chapter three:

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.  (Genesis 3:1-24 KJV)

Now, again, is this fair to the child? No, it is not. In fact, it is a horrible thing. However, it is simply a fact. God had nothing to do with it. This accident was a result of the Sin of humanity; and it the reason Jesus was brought forth. Jesus was brought forth as a way of escape from the sin of Adam in the garden and the judgement that it brings.

It is heartbreaking, but it is the cold reality of this sin-depraved world we live in; which is why we as Christians, should rejoice! Because have escaped that judgement and will live with our Heavenly Father one day, when he comes for his Church.

I voted for Ron Paul in Michigan’s Primary

Yes, I voted for him in the primary. I had to, I would be sinning otherwise.

I know that Ron Paul will not win the primary race here in Michigan.  I also know that Ron Paul will not be nominated as the Republican Party’s choice for candidate for President of the United States of America.  However, I voted for him in the Primary here in Michigan. Please, allow me the time to explain why.

There are a number of reasons why and they are the following:

  1. Spending: Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich all talk a mean game about cutting spending out of one side of their mouths, and out of the other, they all speak of strengthening our Military and of future conflicts with Iran.
  2. Religion: I realize that Religion is not supposed to be a litmus test for Presidential elections.  However, I believe that Religious influence is an issue in selection of one’s vote.  It is a fact that Mitt Romney is of the Mormon faith.  It is a fact that Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich are both of the Roman Catholic faith.  As a Protestant Christian, as a Fundamentalist Christian and as an Independent Fundamental Baptist, I must unequivocally say that I do not consider Mormons or Roman Catholics to be true born again Christians at all.  I realize that this position might offend some, to them I simply say; I must follow what I know in my heart and soul to be right.  I believe a vote for any of these other three men would be a slap in the face to the Almighty God and to his Son Jesus Christ, who came to save and deliver all from the bondages of sin and from false Christian doctrine; including Mormonism and Roman Catholics.  Furthermore, I could think of no greater grievous Sin than to vote for a man, of whose religion is, what my Religious convictions consider a false form of Christianity.
  3. Wars:   As someone who spent over 7 years blogging against a war in Iraq, of which I felt was very unjustified and quite immoral — I just cannot support Republican candidates who wish to steer us into further conflicts in the Middle East.  This not to say that I do not support Israel, anyone who reads this blog, knows that I totally support the idea and preservation of the Jewish State of Israel.  However, I am wholeheartedly opposed to the continuation of fighting Israel’s battles for them.  I believe that the United States of America needs to stop being the World’s police officer and let these Countries fend for themselves.  Furthermore, I believe that the United States of America needs to stop funding the feud between the Arabs and Jews, which the United States has done for years.

For these reasons and for these reasons alone, I have cast my lot to the man, who I feel best represents my beliefs as an American, as a Christian, and as a libertarian-minded Conservative.  I feel personally that any other sort of a vote would be Anti-Christian and Anti-American.  This is not to say that I do not have some minor differences of opinion with the Representative from Texas; I do have a few.  However, I am not, as some are, to toss out the proverbial “baby with the bathwater.”  Because of this, I have voted for and will continue to support Ron Paul for President of the United States in 2012.

These Statements are true and are a true representation of my political positions and opinion.

Signed,

Charles Patrick Adkins
