I hate writing stuff like this because my Dad is a GM retiree. However, the truth is the truth and the truth is, General Motors is lying out of their rather large derrieres.
The Story via The Detroit News — which is, by the way, a Conservative/Libertarian biased Newspaper:
Sales of Chevrolet’s Volt fell in November, following the vehicle’s best sales month in October, while less expensive electrified vehicles gained ground on Chevy’s range-extended plug-in hybrid.
Chevrolet sold 1,519 Volts in November, a 33 percent rise over the same month a year ago. But that was only about half the record 2,961 vehicles sold in October and 2,851 in September.
Don Johnson, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet sales and service, attributed the fall in Volt sales from its record-setting tally in October as an inventory issue, felt particularly hard in California.
“Dealers are just clamoring for more,” he said of the California market, where GM sells about 34 percent of Volts and where it recently had just an eight-day supply of the vehicle. Inventory is now up to 23 days for California and about 60 days for U.S. supply, which Johnson described as “ideal.”
Volt sales through 11 months this year totaled 20,828.
Now for the real reason sales of the Chevy Volt have truly dropped:
It’s difficult to tell whether expiration of favorable sales incentives also led to the fall in Volt sales. Without special incentives, the Volt costs $39,145 before a $7,500 federal tax credit. That’s more expensive than the base prices for Toyota Motor Corp.’s Prius plug-in ($32,000), Ford Motor Co.’s C-Max Energi plug-in ($32,950) and Nissan Motor Co.’s all-electric Nissan Leaf ($35,200)
Talk about burying the lead on that story! The truth is that this is what happens when car manufactures seek money for the United States Federal Government and then proceed to capitulate to the demands of a left-wing socialist ideologue, who would rather strangle the US economy in favor of a green energy boondoggle. Basically folks, what this means is that you and I, the American people; are on the chain; not only for rescuing a failed auto company, but also a failed green energy automobile that was priced so high, that the average American could not even afford to buy the silly thing.
My friends, elections have consequences and this here is one of them. My Father will now most likely lose his pension, when GM finally does fail. All because General Motors could not bear the thought of going through a managed bankruptcy. Instead GM went to the hog trough of the United States Government and invested in a green energy boondoggle, which now, as it seems is another idiotic failure.
Please, for the sake of Liberty, next time; vote different.
Hey, um, America? Want to see what you will look like in four years? Look here:
Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Detroit’s bond rating today deeper into junk status, citing uncertainty after the repeal of Michigan’s emergency manager law and a rising risk of municipal bankruptcy or default in the next 12-24 months.
Moody’s said Detroit’s inability to enact reforms meant to stabilize its finances was complicated by uncertainty after state voters repealed Michigan’s emergency manager law, Public Act 4, on Nov. 6, weakening state oversight of the city’s finances.
The ratings firm noted Detroit’s “precariously narrow cash position,” with Mayor Dave Bing’s administration warning that it will have to put potentially thousands of city employees on furlough Jan. 1 to avoid running $5 million short on cash to meet payroll.
The city’s program management director, William (Kriss) Andrews, has said Detroit is not at risk of missing debt payments, and he believes the city will be able to manage the cash crisis with furloughs and other cuts yet unidentified.
Sad thing, but this is what happens, when progressives run a city into the ground.

Police in Clinton Township are searching for a 15-year-old emotionally impaired teenager who has been missing for a week.
Dakota Strine has run away before, according to police and his mother, Kelly Rowland, 39. But Rowland said he’s never been gone for this long.
“We’ve always found him within an hour. But he’s been gone over a week, including missing a holiday,” she said.
Clinton Township Police Capt. Richard Maierle said Friday that Dakota lives with a guardian near his mother’s home in the area of 15 Mile and Kelly roads. He said the teenager went to take out the trash Nov. 16 and didn’t come back.
Maierle said Dakota may have run away and could be at a friend’s house.
“We have no indication whatsoever that he’s been in any physical harm or was abducted or anything like that,” Maierle said.
Here is his physical description:
Dakota is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 158 pounds and has light brown hair and hazel eyes. Rowland said he was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black and blue tennis shoes.
If you happen to run across the young man, you should really do the following:
Anyone with information should call Clinton Township police at 586-493-7900.
I do these kind of posts as a public service to the community around here. I will be praying that these people will find their son. Not being able to find a kid is a nightmare, and I would not wish it upon anyone.
Update: Fox 2 Detroit is reporting the following via Facebook:
BREAKING NEWS: 15-year-old Cody Strine of Clinton Township has been found unharmed. Police confirm that he is safe and back with his family right now. Stay with FOX 2 as we learn more about this story’s happy ending!
Thank goodness! 😀
It has been 37 years since we lost her.
Detroit — A ceremony in Detroit is to pay homage to sailors lost on inland waterways as well as observe the 37th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The Detroit Historical Society’s Dossin Maritime Group is set to host the ceremony Saturday at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle.
In addition to the Edmund Fitzgerald, this year’s Lost Mariners Remembrance event also is to focus on the Pine Lake, which sank in the Detroit River 100 years ago.
The evening’s activities are to begin with a lantern vigil at the Edmund Fitzgerald anchor, followed by a performance by Great Lakes balladeer Lee Murdock and a color guard escort of a memorial wreath to the Detroit River for receipt by an honor flotilla of Great Lakes vessels. — Via the Detroit News
The list of those we lost, this posting is dedicated to them. May God rest their souls and may their families find peace at last. (Via SSEFO.Com)

This shooter is not a legal gun on owner, this is some crazy nut with a gun. If you live in this area; be careful, if you going to be on or near the I-96 freeway.
Click here for the story at the Detroit Free Press.
Again, this is not in Detroit proper, but in the northern suburbs.
I wrote about this shooting on my old blog three years ago.
This guy had ties to radical Islam and terrorism; and was dealing in stolen goods to finance his operation too.
When the FBI came calling, he was armed to the tooth; and when the FBI went to arrest him, he turned his dogs onto them and then open fired. When the FBI shot him and killed him, because he did this, what happens?
They get sued —- seriously.
The Story via M-Live:
DETROIT (AP) — The family of a Detroit mosque leader has filed a lawsuit against FBI agents, saying his rights were violated when he was gunned down during a raid.
Luqman Abdullah was killed when agents tried to arrest him at a Dearborn warehouse in 2009. He and his allies were accused of dealing stolen goods in an FBI sting operation.
A lawsuit filed Friday in federal court accuses the FBI of using excessive force in Abdullah’s death. He was shot 20 times. The FBI has defended what happened, saying Abdullah was armed and resisted arrest.
The Michigan attorney general said the shooting was justified. The U.S. Justice Department’s civil rights division also found no wrongdoing.
The FBI declined to comment on the lawsuit Tuesday. Abdullah was married and had 10 children.
You want to to know the sick part? Because we live in a society that coddles idiots like this here; the family will most likely cash in and get a big settlement out of the Government for their “Pain and Suffering.” Cha-Ching! You also know where the money will go too? That’s right, for terrorism.
This is what we are fighting against my friends. An open attempt to extort money out of the United States Government for funding of terrorism. I wonder what Ron Paul thinks about this?
Homeless man shoots self in chest. He was suffering from cancer and “other aliments.”
Okay, if he was homeless, how’d he ever afford a gun?!?
Strangest stuff you read in the news.
