Think Progress thinks that it is wrong to love America

It appears that Think Communist Progress has a problem with Doug Hoffman taking the 9/12 pledge, which was inspired by Glenn Beck.

Seems that these Communist tools and Chucky the Lizard King (but again, I repeat myself…) at Little Green Screwballs has a problem with this pledge.

What is that Pledge?

This:

1. America Is Good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is known. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit of Happiness “Everyone has a natural right to choose that vocation in life which he thinks most likely to give him comfortable subsistence.” Thomas Jefferson

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

Charity “It is not everyone who asketh that deserveth charity; all however, are worth of the inquiry or the deserving may suffer.” George Washington

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

Who works for whom? “I consider the people who constitute a society or a nation as the source of all authority in that nation.” Thomas Jefferson

The 12 Values

* Honesty

* Reverence

* Hope

* Thrift

* Humility

* Charity

* Sincerity

* Moderation

* Hard Work

* Courage

* Personal Responsibility

* Gratitude

What further proof that we need that Communist Socialist Liberal Democrats are an enemy to America and its founding principles? None, I would say.Yes, and this does include Chucky the lizard king and his screwball friends.

I think this would be a good time to donate to the Hoffman Campaign!

WSJ: Nancy Pelosi's New Health-Care Bill "Worst Bill Ever"

The graphs that I posted earlier gave the indication of how bad things are going to be. This confirms it:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly told fellow Democrats that she’s prepared to lose seats in 2010 if that’s what it takes to pass ObamaCare, and little wonder. The health bill she unwrapped last Thursday, which President Obama hailed as a “critical milestone,” may well be the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced.

In a rational political world, this 1,990-page runaway train would have been derailed months ago. With spending and debt already at record peacetime levels, the bill creates a new and probably unrepealable middle-class entitlement that is designed to expand over time. Taxes will need to rise precipitously, even as ObamaCare so dramatically expands government control of health care that eventually all medicine will be rationed via politics.

Yet at this point, Democrats have dumped any pretense of genuine bipartisan “reform” and moved into the realm of pure power politics as they race against the unpopularity of their own agenda. The goal is to ram through whatever income-redistribution scheme they can claim to be “universal coverage.” The result will be destructive on every level—for the health-care system, for the country’s fiscal condition, and ultimately for American freedom and prosperity.

As much as I hate repeating myself. Elections have consequences; as do running moderate Republican Candidates. This is one of them. Statism. Welcome to it.

Rev. Wright Praises Marxism

Unreal.

This comes Via A.I.M.:

Quote:

A new video of Jeremiah Wright has surfaced, showing Barack Obama’s pastor of 20 years praising Marxism and discussing his ties to communists in El Salvador and Nicaragua and the Libyan government. Equally important, Wright is being introduced in the video by Robert W. McChesney, co-founder of Free Press, an organization which has come under scrutiny for its links to the Obama Administration and dedication to the transformation and control of the private media in the U.S.

In an article in the socialist Monthly Review, “Journalism, Democracy, and Class Struggle,” McChesney declared, “Our job is to make media reform part of our broader struggle for democracy, social justice, and, dare we say it, socialism.”

In the video, which captures Wright’s appearance at a September 17, 2009, anniversary celebration of Monthly Review, Wright said that while the “corporate media” provide a “binary lens” of the world, in such terms as “communist versus Christian,” Monthly Review offers what it calls “no-nonsense Marxism.”

He added: “You dispel all the negative images we have been programmed to conjure up with just the mention of that word socialism or Marxism.”

He called America “land of the greed and home of the slave.”

Unbelievable…..and we elected this bastard’s best friend. B. Hussein Obama.

Think all this spending and Healthcare won't raise your Taxes?

Think again…

This comes via the Tax Prof:

taxes1

taxes2

Q & O chimes in:

So when you hear that all this new spending, which will indeed raise the deficit, won’t raise your taxes by a single “dime”, you can believe it if you wish. But that doesn’t mean it is true.  And it certainly doesn’t mean Democrats can keep that promise.  Because if they do, they’re simply kicking the same can down the road that Republicans have for years (and no, I’m not advocating massive tax increases, I’m just providing a little reality check to counter the nonsense the politicians continue to spout).   The alternative to the tax rates above is to cut spending – drastically.  If you see that on the horizon you’re the only one because Congress just raised the debt ceiling – again.

Where this means anything to me, is this. Not only would they have to raise taxes on the very wealthy. They would have to raise on people who are middle class and poor as well. So, as many Conservative Bloggers have pointed out in the past; when a Nation engages in statism and enacts those sort of policies —- everyone pays. From the very wealthy, to the extremely poor. You also pay with the loss of your liberty; what which is something that the statist socialist liberal Democrats find to be a quaint idea, that needs to be modernized.

Little Green Screwballs attacks Hoffman

Not a very big surprise… But it’s news.

Looks like the libtards over at little green screwballs are having a hissy fit over the fact that Hoffman took the 9/12 pledge.

Which reminds me why I just LOVE the picture here:

What moderate politics has gotten us thus far

This written piece is part political commentary and part rebuttal to a blog entry posted at The Moderate Voice by Joe Gandelman. Now to be fair; Joe is a friend of mine. Joe has linked to my blog a few times, when I have sent him e-mail pitifully begging for linkage in the past.

However, I feel that I must respond to this Blog entry; because quite frankly, Joe fails to know the difference between a Conservative and a Republican. Joe also fails to realize what moderate politics has gotten us here in the past twenty years.

First off, allow me to quote to you what Joe has written:

“Whether its called a “purge,” “purification,” or making sure that candidates are “real” conservatives and “real” Republicans, the bottom line is that it now appears that moderates in the Republican party — already a nearly vanished species — have a future about as bright as VHS video tapes.

So now the question is going to become: which party can piece together a winning coalition? And what will the elements of that coalition be in this highly fluid, changing ideological environment dominated by the left and right?

The Republicans have been peeling off a good chunk of independent voters, although some argue the growth of independent voters under George Bush was partially due to disgruntled Republicans (moderates and conservatives) straying from the GOP. But that’s almost irrelevant to the central political question which is: which party can put together a winning coalition?

Moderates and centrists aren’t beloved by powerful portions of either political party. So it’s now seemingly a race to see which party offends them most, and which party offends them the least because — for now at least — it’s unlikely that liberals alone or conservatives alone will win elections or congressional majorities. And branding moderates and centrists as closet liberals, closet Republicans, radicals, reactionaries or wishy washy doesn’t exactly win their heart.”

To be totally fair to Joe, he does make the very valid point that neither of the political parties in America have much use for the moderates within their ranks. There is a reason for this and I will explain that. There are many examples of what moderate politics has gotten us in the past; on both sides of the political fence. These are not just examples of Democrats, but also of Republicans as well.

Here are my examples of moderate politics and how it has hurt or at least impeded America’s standing:

  • It was the moderate politics of President Bill Clinton in or around 1994; who signed the North American Free Trade Agreement and TAFA; which basically put the America Auto Workers and many of types of America workers —- squarely behind the 8-ball. What this very flawed agreement caused, was for Japanese and other foreign automakers to able to import their products into this Country for cheaper than the America automakers were even able to produce their products. Thus weakening the American Automakers market share in the United States. Some “Rockefeller Conservative” types would say that this simply hurt the Unions. However, if one looks at the broader scope of this issue, one would see that not only were the unions hurt by this action; but the automakers themselves were hurt also. This was also seen by the greatest of the Clinton supporters — The Unions, as a “selling up the river” of the Democratic Party’s largest base. This might explain why the Clinton machine was defeated in 2008 as well.
  • It was the moderate politics of President George W. Bush which gave the Democrats the very platform that they have now to introduce all of this Governmental regulation of the banking system. If George W. Bush had stuck to his Conservative principles and allowed the banks which had made all of those foolish risky investments on the housing market to actually collapse. Perhaps we would not have all of this overreaching Governmental encroachment into our capitalistic system. Which, for what it is worth, is the true definition of fascism. Further more, because of these actions by the now former President, we will possibly see a massive inflation of our Nation’s money supply and will drive costs for various products extremely high and will cause shortages.
  • It was, and still is, the moderate politics of the United States Senator Olympia Snowe that may in fact result in the destroying of 15% of our Nation’s economy. I am of course referring to this healthcare bill, which is currently winding its way through Congress. Which will ultimately result in the rising of our national deficit. Not to mention the fact, that the nationalizing of the Healthcare system will ultimately end up destroying the private market of Healthcare in this Country; thereby resulting in the lessening of the quality of care and ultimately will lead to rationing and possibly euthanasia of our elderly.

What troubles me troubles me the most about this article is the indirect insinuation by Joe that those of us, who identify ourselves as Conservatives are engaging in some sort extremist behavior; because we happen to think that if one calls themselves a “Conservative” or a “Republican”, and that person desires to run for office; that one should actually adhere to those said principles and not sell out ones principles to win a popularity contest, or to win in the endorsement of some two-bit socialist organization.

My question to Joe and also to the White House; is this —– is that not this very tactics that were taken by the late Senator Joseph McCarthy; who engaged in a sort of “Thought Police” towards those who were of the mindset that Communism or as it now called, socialism; was the great alternative to American capitalism? I ask this in all seriousness, since when did disagreeing with political and ideological mindset become extremism?

The truth is my friends, is that the White House is engaging in the tactics of Saul Alinsky. That is to diminish and discredit those who are in opposition to the policies and politics of the socialists. What disturbs me is the fact that there are some Conservatives, who are engaging in the same tactics as the left —- in the name of Liberty. I am quite sorry but, utilizing “Rules for Conservative radicals” makes us no better than the liberal left. We simply have to arm ourselves with the honest truth; believe me, it will shine forth. There is no need to mimic the left. We are better than that; we should act like it.

I wrote this simply as a reminder that Conservatism is not abnormal, no matter what the liberal left or even the moderate left says.

Update: Smitty @ The Other McCain links in and writes:

Where I was waiting for Pat at PBL’s analysis to go is a consideration of the NetRoots and Joe Lieberman in 2006.

One could say that Joe Lieberman was an opportunist or one could say that he was Democrat who was not drinking the kool-aid. 😀

Why something needs to be done about HealthCare

Including public option, if need be.

This is from my debit card statement:

11/02/2009POINT OF SALE PURCHASE
KROGER (redacted) MI
DebitPrice $38.53Account Total $92.95

Want to know what that is from? That from my medication that I take for A.D.H.D. If it had not been for the various donations that I have received in the last few days and in the past. You know who would be stuck paying for my medication? My Parents.  For what it is worth; that price is from Kroger’s. I went there because where I was going before went up. So, like I have written before; I am not to wild on the idea of a “Public Option”, but this paying out of pocket for medication is getting pretty old.

On a happier note; check out this drag racing video, that I posted here a while back.

CHARLES DARWIN’S FRIGHTFUL VISION OF THE FUTURE (Friday Church News Notes, October 30, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Charles Darwin believed that man evolved from the animal kingdom largely by the process of natural selection or survival of the fittest, and he predicted that this struggle would result in the annihilation of less evolved “races” of men. In his 1871 book The Descent of Man, Darwin wrote, “At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilised races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes, as Professor Schaaffhausen has remarked, will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilised state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead of as now between the neg ro or Australian and the gorilla” (chapter vi). Thus, Darwin believed that Negros and Australian aborigines are lower on the evolutionary scale than Caucasians, and these “savage races” will soon be exterminated to make the way for a an evolved man “even” superior to Caucasians. That is racism of the most wretched kind, and this “science,” which was the product of the anti-God skepticism in which Darwin was reared, led directly to Hitler’s murder camps. The word “eugenics” was coined by Darwin’s cousin Francis Galton. It refers to the attempt to improve the human “race” by such means as birth control, abortion, and euthanasia. In his book Hereditary Genius, Galton looked forward to a time “when the population of the earth shall be kept as strictly within the bounds of number and suitability of race, as the sheep on a well-ordered moor.” Charles Darwin’s daughter Henrietta and her husband Robert Litchfield were fervent eugenicists. Charles’ son Leonard was the president of the First International Congress of Eugenics. He bemoaned the fact that “the unfit” are no longer killed off by hunger and disease, but “are cherished with care, thus being able to reproduce their kind.” Another son, George Darwin, called for easy divorce and contraception to encourage the survival of the fittest, predating the sexual revolution of the 1960s. A grandson, Charles Galton Darwin, a major figure in the Manhattan Project, was president of the Eugenics Society from 1953-59. Margaret Sanger, the atheist founder of Planned Parenthood, was a fervent eugenicist. Hitler praised eugenics in Mein Kampf, but as Dr. Benjamin Wiker, in his book The Darwin Myth, rightly observes, “The fundamental problem with Darwinism is not that it leads to Nazism, but that it can lead to anything” (p. 147). Darwinism destroys the basis of any true moral code.

EMERGING CHURCH LEADER SAYS OSAMA BEN LADEN HAS “DIVINE SPARK” (Friday Church News Notes, October 30, 2009, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) – Shane Hipps, Rob Bell’s co-pastor at Mars Hill Bible Church in Grandville, Michigan, made the following statement on October 5, 2008, in the first of a series of sermons on the Gospel of John: “Jesus is the ultimate unifier of these various diverse ways of looking at the world. Having a distinct religious identity marked by some boundaries, knowing how you are different from other religions, isn’t a problem. John isn’t trying to get rid of that. He is trying to point beyond it. To lose your religious identity is like losing a sail at sea. The sail is like religion. The wind is the spirit. You need a sail to catch the wind, to harness the wind. But you gotta realize that the sail isn’t the wind. … Just because we claim Jesus as the center of our religion does not make us one and the same with the wind of God. It just means we have another sail. … This is what John is doing, and it is extremely innovative, and it’s very unsettling, that he’s inviting us beneath and beyond the things that make distinctions between us. … That’s why it says it [Logos, the Word] was the light and life of all people. It didn’t say it was the light and life of people who believe in Jesus. This Logos affects everybody, including Osama Ben Laden. As long as he’s got breath, in him is the spark of the divine” (http://trinitymennonite.com/audio/TMC-Sermon-2008-10-05.mp3). NOTE FROM BROTHER CLOUD: Hipps quotes some strange “translation” of John 1:9 or makes up his own, changing the wording from “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world,” to “it was the light and life of all people.” In truth, Jesus gives light to every man through creation (Rom. 1:20) conscience (Rom. 2:14 -15), and Scripture (Mark 16:15), but this does not add up to the gross emergent heresies of there being “a divine spark” in every man or every religion being a “sail” for God’s Spirit. (For more about this see “What Is the Emerging Church?” which is available in a book, an e-book, and a DVD series at the Way of Life Literature web site.)
