Just a reminder folks: Communism sucks

Just ask the people of Venezuela.

Let’s go to the video:

The Story:

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Nicolás Maduro was chased at a routine political event by a crowd of angry protesters banging on pots and yelling that they were hungry, just days after thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets to call for his ouster, local news media reported on Saturday.

Scenes from the confrontation late Friday, which also appeared in videos uploaded to social media, captured the attention of Venezuelans, many of whom blame the unpopular president for the country’s food shortages. In one video, Mr. Maduro tries to calm the pot-bangers by walking among them, only to be surrounded as the furious crowd yells obscenities.

“What is this?” an astounded voice behind the camera asks in one of the video clips.Mr. Maduro had traveled from the capital, Caracas, to Margarita Island off Venezuela’s northern coast to inaugurate a number of new public housing units and give a televised address.

During the speech, he denounced his opponents’ calls for his removal from office, calling them “vampires” and saying they were preparing for violence.

Foro Penal, a Venezuelan human rights group, said that 20 people had been arrested after the protest in the town of Villa Rosa on Margarita Island. Among those detained was Braulio Jatar, the director of a local news Web site called Reporte Confidencial, said the site, which had reported on protest against the president.

In Countries where communism rules, people starve and the only people who do well; are those who are in charge. This is what Ronald Reagan knew, this is what Pat Buchanan knows and it is the truth. We must stand for Freedom, Liberty and a free market. Else this above, is what we will have here.

Best Wishes and Prayers for Jailed Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez

Because quite frankly he is going to need it, badly.

The Story:

Thousands of Venezuelans are continuing their weeks-long protests against the government after the arrest of opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez yesterday.

Lopez turned himself in Tuesday after a weeklong manhunt. He is due in court Wednesday on charges of inciting violence that erupted during protests.

As he was being arrested he told his supporters he doesn’t fear years behind bars if that’s what it takes to open eyes to the damage done to Venezuela by 15 years of socialist rule.

“If my jailing serves to awaken a people, serves to awaken Venezuela … then it will be well worth the infamous imprisonment imposed upon me directly, with cowardice,” he shouted to supporters before turning himself in.

Demonstrators gathered outside Venezuelan embassies across Latin America on Tuesday as both anti-government protesters and government supporters rallied on the streets of Caracas.

Human rights groups condemned the charges against Lopez as “political conspiracy theories” and not criminal evidence.

U.S.Secretary of State John Kerry warned that arresting the opposition leader would have a “chilling effect” on freedom of expression.

Venezuelans are protesting rising crime rate, food shortages, and high inflation. The opposition has maintained that the shortages of basic goods and the inflation are the result of government corruption and mismanagement of Venezuela’s vast oil revenue

Believe me, Leopoldo Lopez will need a good deal of prayer and best wishes. Venezuela is, in fact, one of the last strong hold outs of Communism in South America. Next to Cuba, it is also one of the worst places to live and own a business. The Government there is horribly corrupt and it is going to a good deal of work to rid that Government of the communist stronghold that is in the Country.

Again my best wishes to the man; he will need it.
