FBI Conducting Probe of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.

No wonder he is been in the hospital and out of the public eye! Surprise

Fox News Reports:

Federal prosecutors and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are in the final stages of a criminal probe into allegations that Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. misused campaign money to decorate his house, according to people familiar with the matter.

The probe of Mr. Jackson, a Democrat and the son of civil-rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson, is nearing completion, and attorneys for the lawmaker recently sought assurance from senior Justice Department officials to not seek an indictment before the November election, according to people familiar with the matter. Those people said the Justice Department officials refused to make such a promise, according to The Wall Street Journal.

A spokesman and a lawyer for Mr. Jackson didn’t immediately respond to messages Sunday seeking comment.

Mr. Jackson, 47 years old, represents a Chicago congressional district that heavily favors Democrats, and his re-election is likely.

Two things:

  • If he is being probed, if he has done anything wrong; I hope they nail him to the wall and throw the book at him.
  • If he is so horrible sick and under a doctor’s care, he should resign and let someone else, who can actually represent his people go to the hill and do the job. Because right now, he is leeching off taxpayers dollars.

But we all know, that because he is the right color and got the right family pedigree, none of the above will happen at all. This is just how it is; if you have the right color of skin and are a protected minority, you can do what you you wish, without having to give an account.

September 11 terrorists trials under scrutiny at Gitmo

I have some really mixed feelings about this as a Constitutionalist.

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba (AP) — A U.S. military judge is considering broad security rules for the war crimes tribunal of five Guantanamo prisoners charged in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, including measures to prevent the accused from publicly revealing what happened to them in the CIA’s secret network of overseas prisons.

Prosecutors have asked the judge at a pretrial hearing starting Monday to approve what is known as a protective order that is intended to prevent the release of classified information during the eventual trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who has portrayed himself as the mastermind of the terror attacks, and four co-defendants.

Lawyers for the defendants say the rules, as proposed, will hobble their defense. The American Civil Liberties Union, which has filed a challenge to the protective order, says the restrictions will prevent the public from learning what happened to Mr. Mohammed and his co-defendants during several years of CIA confinement and interrogation.

The protective order requires the court to use a 40-second delay during court proceedings so that spectators, who watch behind soundproof glass, can be prevented from hearing — from officials, lawyers or the defendants themselves — the still-classified details of the CIA’s rendition and detention program.

“What we are challenging is the censorship of the defendant’s testimony based on their personal knowledge of the government’s torture and detention of them,” said Hina Shamsi, an ACLU attorney who will be arguing against the protective order during the pretrial hearing at the U.S. base in Cuba.

The protective order, which is also being challenged by a coalition of media organizations that includes The Associated Press, is overly broad because it would “classify the defendants own knowledge, thoughts and experience,” Ms. Shamsi said in an interview.

It is a long fine line between protecting our Republic and protecting empire, and the misdeeds of it. I believe that the above went very close to that line; and even possibly over it. Still, many lives were saved because of the actions of the CIA, of which I commend them for that. However, I dread to know what they had to do to get confessions. Again, I am glad we caught these turkeys; but the methods we used do sicken me a bit. Again, mixed feelings about all of it. Some things are just very complicated.

Traverse City wants to create a “Wet House”

This is unreal.

Advocates for the homeless in a Michigan community have formed a steering committee to look into whether a "wet house" should be opened where people with severe drinking problems can consume alcohol in safety

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports today that supporters of the idea say it will keep some homeless people with alcohol addictions in the northern Lower Peninsula city safe when they are intoxicated and not allowed in shelters.

They say a wet house primarily would be for drinkers with greatly reduced chances of recovery. Alcohol would not be served at the wet house, but the homeless there would be able to drink what they bring in.

Such a house likely would be privately funded, have up to 12 beds and be staffed around the clock.

Let me get this straight. They are going to put up a joint where people can come and bring their own beer and get drunk and then pass out and sleep? I got one thing to say about all that:

I do believe this bus driver ought to get the driver of the year award!

Now, let me get this straight, this crazy woman, gets on a bus, acts like a total idiot; (for lack of a better work or at least one I want to print here!) and then when she gets socked in the mouth —- she is the victim? Confused

Here is what this moron woman did, before she got socked in the jaw:

OCTOBER 12–The Cleveland bus driver who delivered an uppercut to an unruly female passenger told cops that he struck the woman after she grabbed his throat and spit in his face as he was driving, according to police reports.

Artis Hughes, 59, was interviewed by officers shortly after the September 18 confrontation with Shi’dea Lane, 25, on a Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) bus.

Video of the fight (see below) went viral online this week, prompting RTA officials to suspend Hughes, a 22-year veteran, and characterize his behavior as “absolutely unacceptable.”

When cops responded to the stopped bus around 4 PM, Hughes and three passengers described Lane (pictured at right) as the incident’s aggressor. Hughes told cops that Lane initially boarded the bus without paying, claiming, “I left my bookbag.”

Hughes said that after Lane, a restaurant employee, eventually paid her fare, she told him, “You a Bitch and Your Momma’s a Bitch Too!” She also reportedly stated, “Keep talking about me and I will spit on you!”

In a written statement, Hughes recalled that Lane “grabbed me in the throat and spit on me in the face.” In response, the driver said he stopped the bus, “and I protected myself.” The Hughes statement does not reveal that he hit Lane squarely in the jaw with a bolo punch that knocked her to the ground.

One witness told cops that a “drunk” Lane “got on the bus fliping out” and “started talking crazy” to Hughes. After spitting on Hughes, the witness wrote in a statement, the driver “did what he had to do.”

A second witness wrote that Lane was “loud and obnoxious” from the start, and spit on Hughes and “started hitting him.” The witness added, “That’s when he hit her back.” A third witness described Lane as “drunk” and reported that “she hit him and he jumped out of his seat and started fighting her.”

But yet, she is the victim. I bet this feckless, um, what’s a word I can use without being obvious? Thinking Wookie? WorriedDont tell anyone Anyhow, I bet this feckless Wookie voted for Obama too. It would not surprise me at all. Rolling Eyes She should be grateful that the driver was not carrying a handgun; because in some states city drivers like this here, can carry and she is lucky she was not shot. I know if I was driving a bus like that and some dumbass wookie started acting like that and attacked me and I was packing heat; she’d be a dead wookie when I got done with her! CowboyDevil

Oh, and by the way, for those who object to me using the term “Wookie,” go to tell those at Fox Nation to stop using it too, okay? Otherwise, get lost. In this case, and to this racial realist, it is totally appropriate.

Grace Sungeun Lee saga continues

It just never ends for this poor family. I think everyone should really pray for this family.

While the court battle may have ended for Grace Sungeun Lee and her family after the terminally ill woman decided to stay on life support, the Lees are now allegedly being blocked from leaving the hospital and entering a nursing home.

According to the family’s posts this week on the Save Grace SungEun Lee Facebook page, Lee – who has a tumor on her brain stem and is paralyzed from the neck down – wants to get out of North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., “now.” But the hospital has not been aiding the family in that process, they claim.

“Before – We were told by North Shore University Hospital that the nursing homes wouldn’t accept Grace because they couldn’t provide the same level of care,” the family stated on Facebook Wednesday. “NOW!!! – We contacted the nursing home and they told us that the nursing home has everything that the hospital said was needed. They were ready and even WILLING to accept Grace.

“All they requested was the record of the medications that Grace has taken in the last 7 days. They told us that North Shore Hospital has REJECTED and DENIED that request and said that it could not be done.”

Michigan News: Fire burns 130 of 400 acre Heisterman Island in Saginaw Bay

FAIRHAVEN TOWNSHIP — A large fire that took place on Heisterman Island, less than four miles off shore from Fairhaven Township, wound up burning about one-third of the uninhabited island Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning.

Members of the Fairhaven Township Fire Department were called out to the blaze around 5 p.m. Tuesday but had no capability to get to the fire. Members quickly responded to a good observation point to monitor the fire from shore while keeping in touch with the Department of Natural Resources’ Fire Division.

The DNR performed a fly over of Heisterman Island around 6:45 p.m.

“We provided the eyes on the ground for them,” said Fairhaven Fire Chief Roger Gothro. “(The DNR) decided to let the fire go because they were predicting rain last night, which fortunately came.”

Gothro said he went back out to check on things at 6:30 Wednesday morning and saw no signs of fire. He added that at this time, no one is sure what caused the fire.

According to the DNR, about 130 of the more than 400-acre island burned. Following another fly over of the state-owned island late Wednesday morning, officials reported that 90 percent of the fire was out with some smoldering. But it provided no threat and will soon burn out.

No residents live on Heisterman Island but the island is home to various wildlife and is frequented by hunters, anglers and campers. Gothro said they are unsure at this point whether anyone was on the island at the time of the fire.
