Me, Sarah Palin, and Small Businesses….

This is going to be one of those long rambling posts. You have been warned. Big Grin

This is a slight mea culpa for me. Just letting everyone know, My Dad is at home and doing just fine. We are assuming, or at least I am, that my Dad’s pain that he was experiencing was not a heart attack. In fact, I don’t think anyone knows, for sure, what it was. But just as well, he is home, he is fine and I thank those who e-mailed me, letting me know that they were praying for my Father. I had zero clue that I had that many readers. Egad, if as many of you donated, as you did read, I could do this forever and never have to look for a job. Hee hee Yes, I will harp the damn point again, there’s a donate button on the right hand side of your screen, down about midways, please use liberally! Please? Praying

Anyhow, on with the Mea Culpa, I apologize to many of you that come here and get your daily doze of Libertarian with attitude. After I brought Dad home yesterday from the Hospital, I went out to a local coffee house here in the area and proceeded to get loaded on caffeine. I ordered the biggest “House Blend” that they sold. Caffeine is such a bastardly drug. It gets you all cranked up and wound up like a top and then drops you like a bowling ball. I woke up today, at noon. I felt like I had been doing shots of whiskey the night before! I felt horrible! Needless to say, I managed to pull my rather miserable self together to get some sort of posting out.

So, anyhow, I even talked to the owner of “The Grind”, the Economy is killing her business, she’s now having to charge for refills. She’s also had to up the price for coffee. We discussed Obama and McCain. She agreed with me. Obama’s plan will put the hurt on small businesses like hers. I offered to help her get her Business on a domain address and possibly even get her gourmet coffees online, so people could order them and have them shipped to various parts of the country.  I also thank her profusely for getting Wifi. I cannot believe how many places have wifi internet. It boggles this old school, 36 year old man’s mind. HypnotizedBatting Eyelashes

Anyhow, on the Sarah Palin front, I’ve already blogged about how the Main Stream corporate and Liberal controlled media is making a rather big deal over Sarah Palin’s clothing bill.  Well, it seems that am not the only person that thinks the story is a bit overblown:

Ed Morrissey over at HotAir.com agrees with me: (Mark your calendars, this is quite rare!)

Does this violate FEC regulations?  Only if Palin intended on keeping the clothes — which she doesn’t.  The RNC made clear that the outfits will go to charitable donations, and one might imagine that they could generate some hefty bids if placed for auction after the election.  She won’t keep any of it, unless she buys it back from the RNC.

[….]

Dressing nicely or shopping at Saks or Neiman-Marcus does not disqualify someone from the middle class.  Professionals do not shop for their work wardrobes at Target or Wal-Mart, not even those from the middle class.  Having sold clothing for a time myself, I understand the need to look one’s best when making a new impression, and a Sears pantsuit won’t work on the national-election level.  With the Tanning Bed Media lying in wait for Palin, she needed to make the best impression possible.

Was this a good use of funds for the RNC?  They have had more than a $100 million on hand between the campaign and the RNC in September.  They spent around 0.15% of that on Palin’s wardrobe.  It’s less than they’d pay for a single network-TV spot, and they’ll get more use out of it.

Even Jazzshaw from the Moderate Voice, who’s not a Sarah Palin supporter, by a long shot, thinks this is all a bit strange too:

People spend what they can afford to spend on clothing. Personally, I tend to wait for a good sale from Joseph A. Bank when you can get a very nice men’s suit for two hundred dollars. But that’s because I’m not exactly made of money. Were I some sort of high-powered CEO with a seven figure income, I’m sure that my suits would cost five grand and I’d have some Armani in the closet.

I have no idea what Sarah Palin spent on clothes when she was the Mayor of Wasilla, but now she is in the public spotlight and running for Vice President. She also strikes me as an attractive woman who cares about her appearance and probably likes to dress and look her best. The campaign obviously wants her to look her best for the media and is spending accordingly. They can afford to do it, so why wouldn’t they?

There are twelve days of campaigning left before we go to the polls. Surely there are better things for us to spend our time on.

I tend myself to believe that the Main Stream Media is in full bore smear mode at this point. I mean, how much more in the tank can you be? It just seems that they are, in fact, ignoring the stupidity that has emanated from the “Barry” campaign and has instead hyper-focused on the McCain Campaign.

Further more, contrary to what that Marxist Liberal apologist Keith Olbermann thinks, the media does sway the polls. It is no secret that the McCain campaign was in the lead. This lead was totally destroyed after the Marxist-owned and controlled Main Stream Media began to drudge up tidbits, gossip and some outright slander against McCain. Some of it was somewhat deserved, some of it was concerted effort by the media to bring John McCain down in the polls. Not to mention the actions of the notorious Liberal 527 groups who have smeared McCain since he was named the Republican Candidate.

To conclude this rather long piece, let me simply say this. America is headed for a big change. Some possibly for the good, but many of it for the bad, freedom of speech will be suppressed, Conservatives will be brought up on hate speech charges. Churches will be closed, who do not preach approved messages. Our worst nightmare is coming, and there’s not much, at this point that Conservatives can do, except wait. Violence is NOT, I repeat, NOT the answer. You do not hear that much from Conservative Bloggers.  The answer is to stay active, write much, keep the Conservative movement alive. We must work, and wait, wait for America to wake up and realize that they’ve been tricked into believing in a slick talking Chicago politician.

This is, and will be the function of this Blog. To bring an libertarian conservative view to the political scene.  To express my opinion of what is happening in Washington D.C. Until the Day Star Arises.

RNC Spends $150K to make Sarah Palin look good

Sorry gang, got a late start today. Slept till noon. SleepyYawn I needed to catch up. Didn’t get much sleep the last few days. Because Dad was in the hospital. So, I’m a little sluggish today. Sigh

—–

The big story today is that the RNC spent $150K on wardrobe and make up on Sarah Palin and some within the Republican Party are not happy about it.

The reactions are mixed:

Michelle Malkin says “Heckuva job, RNC”

John McCormack at the Weekly Standard wants to know “How much is Hillary Clinton’s Wardrobe worth?

Don Surber says it was money well spent and based on some of these, well, interesting photos of her, I think he’s correct. Hee heeWinking

Ann Althouse wants to know if it is legal or not.

My Take: At this point, I do not think that this will all matter at all. Considering how John McCain is doing in the polls.  I believe that this is a distraction generated by the Liberal media to cover up for the huge gaffes made by Joe Biden.

Further more, I believe it is a distraction to focus away from the real facts about Barack Obama. In fact Ed over at Hotair.com and a few of his friends, have made up a very good case against Barack Obama. I suggest that you read it before voting.

The Sad truth about Sarah Palin

My Mom, of all people, sent me this… I think it speaks the truth myself.

This comes from Brasscheck TV:

…and if the polls are any indication, The public is quite informed about her too.

I think we’re about to see four to eight years of solid Liberal rule in this country.

Thank You Mr. Bush for royally fucking your Political Party, Conservatism and yes, Libertarianism squarely in the ass. You beedy-eyed fuck.

Needless to say, this election is going to be historic.

Idiot Moonbat quote of the day….

From that Homosexually owned Moonbat center, Media Matters for America:

Matt Drudge is still doing his loyal best to boost the chances of the GOP down the homestretch in the form of a blizzard of anti-Obama and pro-McCain links on his site. (Last week, it was the half-baked McCain “comeback” that Drudge hyped relentlessly.)

And there’s no question that Drudge’s Web traffic remains strong and continues to grow, thanks to a burgeoning international audience. But in terms of setting the ground rules — in terms of setting the campaign agenda — Drudge has been AWOL since mid-September when the credit crisis erupted.

His current spectator status mirrors that of the low-flying right-wing bloggers. Just as the bloggers were hailed for their (pseudo) detective work in undermining CBS’ Dan Rather in 2004, Drudge was credited for the way he used his widely read platform to push the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth story into the mainstream press, which helped derail John Kerry’s campaign.

Four years ago, Drudge and the right-wing bloggers were at the peak of their political power. Today, they’re pretty much watching the election pass them by, reduced to the role of frustrated sideline hecklers.

Oh really? Raised Eyebrow I have news for that idiot, we Conservative Bloggers are still here, we’re still powerful and we’re not going any damned where. Enjoy the ride Moonbats, because that Magic Negro personal “Messiah” of yours has got to screw up sometime or another.

I mean, I just cannot wait till he is elected into office and then begins to break every damned last campaign promise that he has made in the past. That will be the best Blog fodder ever.  I just cannot wait for the frustrated Blog postings of “He Betrayed us!!!!”

It will make for some awesome hilarity, that is for sure.

Frustrated sideline hecklers, my ass. PhbbbtttAngryBring it onLoserRaised Eyebrow

Is John McCain trying to control the media on his Campaign plane?

Not a good way to endure yourself to the media, John….

Via Michael Calderone’s Blog @ Politico.com

Time columnist Joe Klein, who’s been a forceful critic of the  McCain Campaign (and already said he’s unwilling to accept a post-election apology), has found himself without a seat on the McCain or Palin planes the past four months.

In June, Klein was kept from boarding the McCain plane over what they said had been a security issue. More recently, when trying to fly on the Palin plane last week, Klein told Politico over e-mail that the campaign’s response was he “couldn’t be accommodated at this time.”“I’ve done nine presidential campaigns and this is the first time this has ever happened to me,” Klein said. “I was even allowed—I won’t say welcomed—on the Clinton plane in the summer of 1996 after I was revealed as the author of Primary Colors.”

“I rode with McCain during the primaries, but not since I asked him—at a June press conference—whether he really believed Ahmadinejad was the ‘leader’ of Iran, since he has no control over foreign policy or the nuclear program,” Klein continued. “That was when they suddenly told me that I hadn’t called in time to get secret service clearance. (I had called more than a day in advance.)"

This is not very smart at all. I mean, McCain has every right to allow whom he wants on his campaign plane, but what kind of message does it sent to the media, when you disallow someone on your plane that either criticizes you or campaign?

Some say that this is sign that John McCain is not in control of his campaign, but I disagree with this totally, I think that man is totally in control and knows what he is doing. Not that I agree with it. But I don’t think John McCain is that stupid. I think McCain’s got some Oddball idea that this is making him look like some sort of a Maverick. However, I think it will seen more as fascist in nature.

I mean, could you even remotely imagine the outrage, if Barack Obama decided to just toss FOX NEWS off his campaign plane, because he did not like something that they said about him? Surprise It would not be pretty. Worried

Somehow or another, other than the blogs, I doubt this will get much airtime.

The Obligatory Obama taking time off to be with ill grandmother posting

For the record, I think what Obama is doing, is totally awesome.

Considering what is going on with my Dad right now, I have to agree with this guy here.

Anyone who would knowingly insult a man’s dying grandmother and the man who’s showing the compassion to go and see her, especially at end stretch of the presidential campaign, well, that person ought to be shot.

Can you see now, why I am not a Republican? Not to mention John McCain’s insulting comments, during a time like this, I can only believe that is going to hurt him in the polls.

I’ve made my share of mistakes during my tenure of being a Blogger, I admit that. But to knowingly insult someone like that. It simply shows your colors man. I’m sorry, I cannot agree with that.

Prayers Needed tonight: My Dad is in the hospital

My Blogging has been today and will be limited for the next few days. I had to take my Dad to the hospital this afternoon. He was complaining with his side hurting, badly.

Well, more truthfully, he drove himself. I fussed at him about that all the way to the truck, because he steadfastly refused to allow me to drive him to the hospital!  I may as well have been talking to a tree. When that man makes up his mind, Jesus Christ himself wouldn’t be able to change his mind.  Needless to say, I was grinning rather broadly when a nurse, who was about my Dad’s age, gave my Dad a royal butt chewing for not letting me drive.  That will teach him not to listen to me. Harrumph!

Anyhow, he was in pain, more so when he laid down on that gurney. Finally, they did put in a IV and pumped him full of morphine. That seemed to work, as shortly afterward, he went to sleep. Which brings me to another story, how that man managed to sleep in that noisy E.R., is well beyond my ability to comprehend. Between the chorus of “beeps”, “Boops” and the annoying old man, who kept yelling, “HELP! GET ME A PAIN PILL!” about every five seconds and incessantly banging on the side of his bed to get some attention. It’s a wonder my dad didn’t run out of there screaming. I was about there, but I held it in. I was ready to give the old man a pain pill up side his head, but he was old and had a tracheotomy. So, I kept it to myself. Lucky bastard.

Anyhow, they took about 50 million pints of blood. (Okay, that was liberal estimation, SUE ME!) and mashed around on him, and said, “Did that hurt?” They knew it when they found the spot, needless to say! Anyhow, they gave him the morphine, and decided to keep him. They had to look at the X-rays that they took and it seems his blood enzymes were off slightly and they wanted to keep him for observation.

So…. at this point, I know nothing. I should know more tomorrow.

Stay Tuned.
