On Guns, Obama and the Right

I wanted to do a posting on this and I did not want to do the usual quoting someone else and then adding my thoughts routine.  On this posting, I did want to give my complete original thought with reference links as needed.  Yes, I am fully aware, as I am sure most of you are; about the idiot Ron Paul follower, who took it upon himself to bring his gun to an event that President Barack Obama was going to be attending.  I have also seen the interview that this person gave to Chris Matthews at MSNBC —-which I might add, that the man handled himself very well.  Being that he did not fall for the baited trap that Chris Matthews laid out for him.

However, on the subject of what actually took place here, was this man well within his Constitutional right; being he was well within the proper law to carry his gun, the answer to this question is an obvious yes.  The second question is and I will answer it; is this.  Was it really in the best interests of Conservative, Republicans, and yes, even libertarians and law abiding gun owners for this man to show up at a town-hall meeting where the President of the United States was going to be attending with a Firearm and a sign that says that the Government needs to be overthrown by a violent revolution?  I say this as not only Conservative who believes in the right to carry a firearm.  But as someone who believes in something, that is not found in this day and age of internet sound bites, called common sense —  I am going to come down on that side and say that this man was totally out of line and should been removed from the area.  The reason I say this is because I happen to know that our President is getting more threats on his life now, than when the previous Administration was in power.

Please, do not get me wrong, I fully believe in the right to carry and own firearms.  As long as that carrying of a firearm, is well within the proper laws of that said state.  However, I also believe that this man was horrible distraction to our Secret Service whose job it is to protect our President.  This is the huge difference between the mainstream Conservatives and yes, Republicans, who believe in the idea of “Rule of Law” and the whole “Viva Revolution” Ron Paul crowd who believe in a so-called peaceful (Wink Wink) Revolution.  The Ron Paul crowd believes that the “Rule of Law” infringes on the Constitutional rights of every American citizen.  This, in the opinion of this writer, is an extremist position that is rooted in the concept on anarchy.  This is the reason why I consider myself a Conservative, who leans more towards the thought process of a Republican than a libertarian one, because I believe in a moderate interpretation of the Constitution, and because I believe the concept of a rule of law.

The whole depressing aspect of this whole story is this, it simply feeds in to the socialist left’s talking points that guns promote violence and that the right are bunch of gun toting nut cases that run around waiting for a chance to shoot the President.  Which I happen to know is bunch of nonsense as does anyone else who has a half of a brain.  This is why I happen to believe that the Republican Party and generally Conservatives as a whole need to articulate a clear distinction, between the Constitutional extremists of the “Ron Paul” crowd and those of us who do not subscribe to that sort of a mindset.

Washington, DC — Today, FreedomWorks released an apology to leftist political organizations, including MoveOn.org, the Democratic National Committee, the AFL-CIO, and ACORN for our apparent ignorance of the fine art of political discourse.

FreedomWorks’ August Recess Call to Action encouraged grassroots citizens to attend Congressional town hall meetings and listening sessions.  We asked everyone to voice their opinions and communicate their opposition to the President’s proposed hostile takeover of the American health care system.  Apparently, the very act of showing up and having an opinion is, in effect, to act like a “thug.”  Opposing President Obama’s policy agenda on health care is, in and of itself, unacceptable, and has no place in our democracy.  Bottom line: it’s “disgusting,” according to our friends on the left.

We didn’t know this.  Evidently, we also didn’t know best practices in a respectful, dignified policy debate, but our leftist friends were kind enough to “take FreedomWorks to school”, so to speak.

Specifically, “school” included phone call blitzes from MoveOn.org and the AFL-CIO that jammed FreedomWorks phone lines and filled up staff voice mail boxes.  Callers’ consistently used profanity, vulgarity, ever-popular references to “Nazis” and “brown-shirters,” racial slurs targeting an African-American staffer, and even veiled threats of violence and bodily harm.

Now we know how an intelligent political debate unfolds.  Thank You!

FreedomWorks would like to share some of the more interesting examples of this brand of debate, graciously communicated to staff via voice mail by some of the more learned members of the thoughtful left.

We are using tactics like Hitler to disrupt democracy. “If I have to pick up a weapon…then I will.”

Someone who’s most likely masturbating while breathing heavily into the phone.

“Stop disrupting my democracy with Nazi, Brownshirt tactics…you immoral bast****.”

Threat to respond violently to town hall attendees. “I hope this backfires on that piece of s*** Dick Armey.”

“I hope you have a hard time sleeping at night.”

“You are almost as bad as the communists… You’re from out of the country, obviously.”

“Your Brownshirt tactics are unacceptable, un-American.”

Amazing…. when they cannot win the debate; this is what happens. Threats, Insults, Foul Language. I smell desperation.

White House Whines about Ad about Healthy School Lunches, Because it mentions the Presidents Daughters

Seems that President Prissy Fragile Heart is whining about his kids, again. Whom he has PIMPED out in this past election:

The posters went up last week, 14 in Union Station. On each of the large displays, a thought bubble rises up from a picture of a beautiful 8-year-old: “President Obama’s daughters get healthy school lunches. Why don’t I?”

A Washington nonprofit that advocates nutrition-policy reform paid $20,000 to get its message across and carefully maneuvered Metro’s tangle of regulations to display its posters. Metro gave it a go — but the White House did not, according to the group. Within 24 hours of the signs’ appearance, the White House asked the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to take down the ads, which feature Jasmine Messiah, a vegetarian who attends a Miami-Dade County public school that, she says, offers no vegetarian or vegan lunch options.

The Physicians Committee has declined to take down the posters.

Yet she was no stranger to Capitol Hill, and some view her work on behalf of the developmentally challenged, including the founding of the Special Olympics, as the most lasting of the Kennedy family’s contributions.

“When the full judgment of the Kennedy legacy is made — including J.F.K.’s Peace Corps and Alliance for Progress, Robert Kennedy’s passion for civil rights and Ted Kennedy’s efforts on health care, workplace reform and refugees — the changes wrought by Eunice Shriver may well be seen as the most consequential,” U.S. News and World Report said in its cover story of Nov. 15, 1993.

In an interview with CBS News in 2004, Mrs. Shriver’s son Robert said: “My mom never ran for office, and she changed the world. Period. End of story.”

She was a kind-hearted person who supported her Democrat-dominated family for decades, and even though she was a Democrat herself, she and her husband both were pro-life, and during the first presidential campaign of then-Governor Bill Clinton, she – along with several other prominent pro-life Democrats, signed a letter than was published in the NYT protesting the Democratic party’s pro-choice platform.

Let me simple add something. As much as I despise the current state of the Democratic Party’s far left socialism; As a nephew of the developmentally disabled (AKA Mentally retarded)  aunt, I can appreciate what this woman has done.

May her legacy be carried on for as long as this world may exist.

I just love reading other people’s Blog. You read some of the funniest stuff sometimes. This time it is Robert Stacy McCain:

BTW, Cynthia called me this afternoon to say she was going to a townhall meeting with Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.).

“What should I ask him?” she said.

“Look, you’re well-informed on the issues. Just pay attention to what he says, and what questions other people are asking, and I’m sure you’ll think of something good to ask. . . . You’re a natural-born troublemaker.”

She was in kind of a hurry and said she didn’t have time to take a shower before going to the meeting. So I figure if Cardin gives her the run-around, the headline will be:

The AFL-CIO and their Communist sock puppet the SEIU are now lying about the attack in St. Louis.

Fact Versus Fiction:

False– Kenneth was hired by conservatives to stir up the violent attack that put him in the hospital.

Kenneth was there to hand out and sell merchandise.

False– Kenneth was recently laid off.

Kenneth was unemployed.

False– Kenneth does not have medical insurance.

He is covered under his wife’s plan.

False– Kenneth started the violence.

SEIU Public Service Director of Local 2000 Elston McGowan who claims he was the victim is twice Kenneth’s size.

True– SEIU members attacked him.

At least 3 members attacked Kenneth and 1 member smashed a woman in the face.

True– Kenneth was hurt and spent the night in the hospital.
