UPDATED: The Meltdown Begins: Breitbart Editor at Editor-at-large Ben Shapiro and Reporter Michelle Fields resign TWO MORE STAFFERS RESIGN

Update: Politico reports that National security correspondent Jordan Schachtel and associate editor Jarrett Stepman have resigned.

Original Story:

Man, sleep in one day; and boy did I ever! — did not crawl out of bed till 12:30 in the afternoon —- and major news breaks. Hopefully, I write this right; I’m still nursing the coffee mug and the vape. So, bear with me here. 😛

I knew this was coming, but I did not expect it this soon. I figured that Ben and Michelle would hold out until after the election. I guess the staff over there, are really ticked about the way the owners handled the situation.

BuzzFeed has the scoop:

Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields and editor-at-large Ben Shapiro are resigning from the company over the site’s handling of Donald Trump’s campaign manager’s alleged assault on Fields, BuzzFeed News has learned.

Fields and Shapiro informed Breitbart News chair Steve Bannon of their decision Sunday night.

“Today I informed the management at Breitbart News of my immediate resignation,” Fields said in a statement sent to BuzzFeed News. “I do not believe Breitbart News has adequately stood by me during the events of the past week and because of that I believe it is now best for us to part ways.”

In his own statement, Shapiro said the episode was emblematic of how he believes the site’s management had sold out the legacy of its founder and namesake, the late Andrew Breitbart.

“Andrew’s life mission has been betrayed,” Shapiro wrote. “Indeed, Breitbart News, under the chairmanship of Steve Bannon, has put a stake through the heart of Andrew’s legacy. In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda, to the extent that he abandoned and undercut his own reporter, Breitbart News’ Michelle Fields, in order to protect Trump’s bully campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who allegedly assaulted Michelle.”

Breitbart has been riven by internal strife in recent days after Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, allegedly grabbed Fields and yanked her away from Trump as she was attempting to ask him a question after a press conference in Florida. The Trump campaign denied the incident, despite considerable evidence to the contrary.

Breitbart published a story casting doubt on Fields’ account, appearing to side with the Trump campaign over their own reporter. Joel Pollak, a senior editor-at-large at the organization, ordered staffers to stop defending Fields. One source with knowledge of the situation said some staffers who publicly defended Fields had been threatened with firing.

“Both Lewandowski and Trump maligned Michelle in the most repulsive fashion,” Shapiro wrote in his resignation statement. “Meanwhile, Breitbart News not only stood by and did nothing outside of tepidly asking for an apology, they then attempted to abandon Michelle by silencing staff from tweeting or talking about the issue. Finally, in the ultimate indignity, they undermined Michelle completely by running a poorly-evidenced conspiracy theory as their lead story in which Michelle and Terris had somehow misidentified Lewandowski.”

The exodus, which began with the company’s spokesman Kurt Bardella, is unlikely to end with Fields and Shapiro. Three sources say multiple staffers are searching for a way out of the company — with several actively circulating résumés, according to two sources — and more resignations could follow in the coming days and weeks. The company is known for having editorial employees sign unusually strict contracts, at least some of which include non-compete clauses that could make it difficult to leave Breitbart for another news outlet.

Relations between Bannon and the site’s staff — which were already fraught with tension over the direction and editorial vision for the company — have deteriorated sharply over the episode with the Trump campaign. According to one company source with knowledge of the situation, some editors have discussed telling Breitbart News CEO Larry Solov they will quit unless Bannon is ousted. Solov did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday night.

Sorry to over quote that story; but it is all that good. Looks like the staff isn’t very happy. Like I wrote over in the comments section of this blog here; there have been issues with the staff over at Breitbart for a long while. Many people worked there have worked there; only to leave later on. Dana Loesch actually filed a lawsuit against the company over her contract there, before she moved to Glenn Beck’s network. So, this is really no big surprise to me at all.

What is really surprising to me is that a piece mocking Shapiro was published and then removed. Which tells me really all I need to know about that company. Andrew would be really furious as to how his company is being handled by these two jokers. There is a price to be a shill and these guys are now paying it. I support Trump myself; but I am not a shill, nor will I ever be —- and this above, is why.

Holy Crap!: NRO’s Kevin Williamson says that white, working class, Trump supporting communities “deserve to die”

Update: The Guys over at HotGas.net really hit the nail on the head, they really, really, do.

Update #2: Kevin French over at The Corner (What a lame name for a blog!) posts a pathetic defense of Williamson’s article.

The anti-Trump movement in the conservative circles has been astounding. To listen to some of these people, Donald Trump would be the incarnation of Adolf Hitler. Well, it has taken a new low. This morning, as I always do; I wandered over to HotAir.com to see what Jazz Shaw to say on Sunday. It has become a bit of a habit, I enjoy his writings, as he is a working class stiff, like myself. Plus too, Jazz is a very good writer, but don’t tell him I said that, his head will swell up and they will never get him out of that house. 😉

It was there, that I saw, highlighted by Mr. Shaw, one of the worst Anti-Trump articles written so far. It is an article written by a one Kevin Williamson, who writes for National Review Online, a decidedly anti-Trump publication, founded by William F. Buckley, who is among paleoconservatives; tantamount to a sewer rat.

With Video: Protester who rushed past secret service at Trump rally in Dayton, Ohio

The Video: (Via Gateway Pundit)

youtube placeholder image

The Story via NBC Washington:

A Donald Trump rally took a dramatic turn Saturday when a disturbance broke out behind the GOP frontrunner — causing Secret Service agents to jump on stage and form a wall around the candidate amid the commotion, NBC News reported.

A campaign spokeswoman said that a man at the Dayton, Ohio, event “attempted to breach the secure buffer and was removed rapidly and professionally.”

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Thomas Dimassimo, was charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic — both misdemeanors, Chief Mike Etter of the Dayton Airport Police Department told NBC News.

It was the first time at one of Trump’s events that agents had to swarm the stage in such a manner.

This guy Thomas Dimassimo has quite a profile, Click here to see.

I think what is happening here is that the left is scared to death that Hillary’s chances or even Bernie’s chances are being threatened and they are lashing out, in an organized manner. This is going to get worse, before it gets any better.

Memeorandum round up here.

Interesting Reading: A Primer on Christian Dominionism

As I have written on here many times, I am opposed to Christian Dominionist movement, of which Ted Cruz is a part of.

Well, someone finally has did a write up on the movement. Ronnie Herne over at Newswithviews.com writes about the movement:

“Zealous men force their way in.” The Secret Kingdom by Pat Robertson (p. 82)

Dominionism. What is it? Where does it come from? And most importantly, where is it headed?

Dominionism simply means “dominance.” In our parlance here it means Christian dominance. The concept is as old as recorded history. It’s a desire to take over the world and remake it in your own image.

Dominionism here in the U.S. has been seriously percolating since the 70s or very early 80s. Many variants exist in the belief structures but there is only one goal: creating the earthly Kingdom of God. It matters not that Christ said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” The Dominionists forge ahead. They believe that in Genesis I:26-28 God gave man dominion over the earth. But when man fell from Grace many dominionists believe that Satan took over dominion of the earth.

They believe that Almighty God Himself cannot get the earth back unless the Dominionists first create a Christian government over all the world, starting right here in the United States. The Dominionists will create this Kingdom of God.

Only when this Kingdom is created can Christ come again the second time. And somewhere at or around that time, the good Christians will experience Rapture and be taken or ascended into heaven, and the other Christians and non-Christians will face maybe 7 years of Tribulation.

The Dominionists are a self-aggrandizing lot. Not just any Christian will do. No, a good Presbyterian like Donald Trump doesn’t qualify. The bulk of your Catholics don’t make the cut either. And forget the “Judeo-” in “Judeo-Christian”.

I highly recommend that you read the rest of that; as it is very, very, enlightening. Only thing that she missed is that the fact that Christian Dominionism is a politicization of “Kingdom Now Theology” made famous by Jack Hayford. Other than that; this article above and linked, is excellent.

Good question

Indeed it is…

VDare.com asks:

The perpetrators of this atrocity of course come from cultures in which free speech and civil discourse are not an objective value – including Sheyman.

But after Donald Trump has been repeatedly badgered about being tepidly approved of by a man with whom he has never had contact who more than a generation ago was involved with the KKK the question is obvious:

WILL BERNIE SANDERS DENOUNCE TRUMP’S VIOLENT REPRESSION BY HIS SUPPORTERS?

Will the MSM even ask?

Don’t hold your breath.

A first hand account of what happened last night at the Trump rally in Chicago

Update: I just realized that I had a very humorous error in the title of this posting. Needless to say, I updated it. 😆

I kind of feel like an idiot now. but, I’m glad I fixed it. it’s supposed to be Trump rally, not Trump really! Good lord. 🙄

**** original posting ****

I saw Ann Counter tweeting this link last night, about what happened in Chicago:

I followed the link and read this posting on Reddit, it really is interesting:

At 2:30 p.m., I arrived at the Donald Trump rally located at the UIC pavilion in Chicago, IL. There was light police presence at the Blue Line station, and the pavilion was short walk away. There I waited in line for about an hour until making it to the front doors, going through a security scanner, and finding a seat in the main hall.

For nearly two hours the pavilion filled until it neared capacity. It was clear that protesters were seated around the room, given easily away by their manner of dress. Most of the Trump supporters, being suburbanite or small town white people from outside of Chicago, were dressed strikingly normal—jeans and t-shirts, yoga pants or dresses, and the occasional suit.

A very good point on conservative blogs

I saw this and I have to say, I agree with it.

Doomberg over at HotGas.net writes:

March 11 was a really bad day, for a lot of reasons, but the main one was having to watch the GOP cheer and gloat as their own frontrunner’s rally was attacked by a violent, dangerous mob, and then watch as many people such as Ted Cruz, and blogs we once liked and trusted —  I don’t think I need to name names, here — encourage or make disingenuous excuses for this violence. The proximate excuse we’re hearing from GOP hacks and shills is that a Breitbart reporter was “violently assaulted” at a Trump rally (despite the story now quietly changing to “may have had her arm grabbed”) and that since this is clear evidence of “fascism,” that violence against Trump supporters is now acceptable and even moral. The argument we’re hearing from the MSM is that all this seething “fascism” from Trump erupted into sort of a spontaneous mob event.

Some advice for Keith Olbermann

You know what the sad part about this story is, that I honestly used to respect this man in a big way. I am referring, of course, to Keith Olbermann. I know, it sounds crazy coming from a Conservative blogger; but, yes, I actually used to a respect this guy. As it says in my bios, long and short, I was a skeptical left of center type. I never was really a fan of Bush and Co. I felt, then, which was in 2006, when I started blogging; that Keith Olbermann’s commentary on Bush’s handling of Iraq was very much on point. In fact, my calling my original written pieces “Special Comment” is a direct influence of his, as Keith Olbermann and, ironically, Lou Dobbs were the main figures that inspired me to start writing again, after a long hiatus since my childhood.

Then something happened somewhere in the middle of 2007, MSNBC and Keith Olbermann went into the tank for Obama, in a big way. It was at that point that I decided that I could no longer watch the man. It should be noted that this also coincided with me giving up on the Democrats.

Now we have this: Keith Olbermann, one of the biggest Limousine liberals on the planet, is now complaining that Donald Trump is a supposedly a bad property owner:

Okay, Donnie, you win.

I’m moving out.

Not moving out of the country — not yet anyway. I’m merely moving out of one of New York’s many buildings slathered in equal portions with gratuitous gold and the name “Trump.” Nine largely happy years with an excellent staff and an excellent reputation (until recently, anyway) — but I’m out of here.

I’m getting out because of the degree to which the very name “Trump” has degraded the public discourse and the nation itself. I can’t hear, or see, or say that name any longer without spitting. Frankly, I’m running out of Trump spit.

It gets better, Keith wails, while counting his money:

There could still be enough idiots to elect Trump this November. Hell, I was stupid enough to move into one of his buildings. But here in those buildings, even as I pack, is the silver lining hidden amid the golden Donald trumpery.

One day Trump appeared in person and, with what I only later realized was the same kind of sincere concern and respect that Eddie Haskell used to pay “Beaver” Cleaver’s mother, asked me how I liked the place and to let him know personally if anything ever went wrong. About 15 months ago, when the elevators failed and many of the heating-unit motors died and the water shut off, I wrote him. He sent an adjutant over to bluster mightily about the urgency of improvements and who was to blame for the elevators and how there would be consequences, and within weeks Trump’s minions were obediently and diligently installing — a new revolving door at the back of the lobby.

That three-week project stretched past three months, smothered the lobby in stench and grime, required the repeated removal and reinstallation of a couple of railings, and for a time created a window frosting problem even when it wasn’t cold out.

He goes on to use the above silliness to make a very silly point or shall I say, political dig; that it would take forever to get a wall built at our southern border. This is simply a childish attempt a score a political point with the opposing team. This reeks of childish, third grade antics.

Please note, dear reader that this blog entry is wrote by someone, whose financial situation is not the best; is writing this blog entry. Anyone who has come here running an ad blocker knows to what I am referring. So, before anyone hollers, “Class warfare!” Keep this in mind, please. Now that I have gotten that little disclaimer out of the way, let me proceed to my next point.

What is being lost here or at least, seems to be lost on Keith Olbermann, as he does seem to have a great lack of self-awareness — is that Keith Olbermann actually has to the means to live in a building like Trump Towers! Now to be clear, Keith Olbermann earned his success, he started out as a local sportscaster at a local TV station, he slowly, but surely, worked his way up to where he is today. Nobody handed it to Keith on a silver platter. He worked for all of it. I have no quarrel with that at all. At some point, while at MSNBC, Keith was given the chance to take over the show “Countdown” on MSNBC, which afforded him some very good success in the field of broadcasting.

Unfortunately, the success went straight to Keith Olbermann’s head. I read the news reports of Keith Olbermann being outright abusive to his staff, acting like a child, when he did not get his way with the management over at MSNBC and finally being let go from the Network entirely. Then Keith lands a job at Al Gore’s Current TV, gets a show there, with the same name, and then ends up being fired from there, for the same reason as his firing from MSNBC.

This obviously points to an ego and to someone who has forgotten where he has come from and has forgotten where he started and, what it actually means to have to work for a living. Put simply: Keith money and success had caused him to become out of touch with the rest of the working class people in America. This is a very common trait among those, who are wealthy Democrats.

Now having said all of the above: I offer some kind advice for a one Keith Olbermann — Shut your mouth, Pack your things and find somewhere else to live and do try to avoid bringing anymore sort of embarrassment to your political party and to your own self. Because frankly sir, there are many of us, of the plebeian sort, who find your complaining of your posh surroundings quite humorous and ironic.
