Health issues preventing me from going back to work

Believe it not….

Yes, I had to do this today….

As I wrote awhile back, I have wanted to go back into driving truck for a living. Well, I went today for my DOT physical and I got a bit of a surprise. I had sugar in my urine. So, I had to stab my finger and check my blood. My blood sugar was 275, DOT rules say nothing over 200. My Blood pressure was 160 over 100. For DOT regs, it must be no more than 140/90.

I was wondering why I was having headaches here as of late. I found my answer —- blood pressure. 🙄

Needless to say, I have a doctor’s appointment coming up next Wednesday at 2:00pm. As I have to see what on earth is going on here. I guess sitting around for 10 years doing nothing but writing has taken its toll on the ol’ body here. One thing I will mention, Diabetes does run on both sides of my family. I was hoping it would skip over me; I guess it is what they say, hope floats. 🙄

So, my DOT thing is on hold, till I can either get this under control or something.

Also too, full disclosure with me here: I went online today and applied for STATE medical insurance help.  I won’t take federal, unless I absolutely HAVE TO do it. But, now; I will be blunt with everyone: This sugar in the blood and high blood pressure stuff is NOT anything to play around with and I am not getting any younger.

So, honestly, I do not give two flips where it is coming from. I want to live and be healthy. So, at the point, politics is not in my realm of view at the moment. Sorry, but I am not dying young, just so I can say, “Screw the Government!” Why I see it, if the Republicans think that my dying young is somehow or another preserving some sort of freedom, then they can just go jump in the lake and I will call myself a Democrat again. I did not like Obama, for many reasons. His wanting to help people, like me, be taken care of, was not one of them. I am not much into “Mob Rule” at all, but I am not dying so some wealthy Republican can feel good about himself. If you know what I mean and I think you do! 😀

Anyhow, I will everyone posted on this. Needless to say, this was a huge shock to me. The last time I took a DOT physical, I passed with flying colors —- this was in 2003, 10 years later and now this; it sickens me a bit. For years, I was the epitome of health and now….this. 🙁 It was not the way I thought my life would turn out, that is for sure.

PayPal button fixed

I noticed someone clicked my PayPal button and so, I did too. I used a saved button, which was pointing to an old e-mail address that I once used.

So, I tossed it and created a new button.

oopsie. 😳

A bit under the weather

Just to let everyone know, I am a bit under the weather. My ever continuing battle with my stomach is back again, full force; complete with the trots.  All I did today was sleep, and crap my brains out. I know it’s a nasty subject; but it is what is happening here. I was able to eat some cottage cheese earlier and finally made me a plate full of boiled rice. I did this so I could try to get my strength back — you don’t know what you are missing there, until you lose it.

Not to worry, I am drinking fluids. My water bottle is working overtime.

I will be back at it here in a few days or so. Keep me in your prayers, if you say them. 😀

 

 

Server Move

In case you have not noticed, the blog has moved. I am now being hosted by HostingMatters.

Hopefully things will be better here. I won’t get into why, it was just beyond time to move on. No hard feeling towards Matt at Hostmist.com. I just gave up on being a reseller. So, I decided just to go to shared.

Also too, allow me to mention that some stuff that was here, is no longer here. due to the move. My apologies. 🙁

 

 

Christmas Party

Just letting everyone know that I shall be away today for most of the morning and afternoon.

My Father’s local union is having it’s annual Christmas Party, which something I look forward to every year. It’s the one time of the year, that I get to eat like a pig and no one cares! 😉  I’m going with my Dad and two cousins; so it shall be an interesting time.

We don’t have to leave for the party,  till 9:00 am and it’s 4:38 am locally and I’m already up and ready to go. 😀 Boy, I am I going to be feeling it later… 😯

Anyhow, just to let everyone know the comment section will be on lock down. Which means I have to approve the comments when I get back home. Sorry, after this little thing of me telling the right to go jump in the lake, becoming an independent and siding with family, rather than corporatism; I really do not feel safe leaving the comment section open to drive by trolls. So, if you comment and it goes into moderation, that’s why. It’s nothing personal. I am just keeping the site locked down till I get back.

I will be doing some blogging here, while I wait for 9:00 am to roll around, just occupy my time. (No, not occupy time…. 🙄 As in occupy Detroit *snicker*)

Clicksor ads are GONE!

Just some housekeeping for my readers.

I had this brilliant idea of bringing on some new ads on here, so that I could have another revenue stream. So, I checked out this company called clicksor. Anyhow, the first I noticed is that there were full-page ads and pop-under ads; which I am no fan of at all. Then, I noticed that I had to manually disable them in the code. Which really had me ready to punch the laptop. I was able to do it though.

Anyhow, even after all that, the silly ads were STILL causing my virus software to go off and tell me that Malware was trying to attack my browser. Anyhow, When it comes to that sort of stuff; that being viruses, malware and such, I don’t take any chances. I got burned once with a virus; and ever since then I have been hyper careful about that stuff.

So, the extra ad at the top and the one at the bottom on the single post page are both history. I like money, but not at the cost of possibly planting malware on someone’s machine or laptop. Including mine! 😯

Now, the ad at the top, in the right sidebar is from another company and it works fine. Same goes with the amazon bar at the top.

Just thought I would tell everyone what the heck was going on around this place. 😀

 

About the new ads

I realize some people might not like the new ads. I am fully aware that there are some people on the left who seem to believe that capitalism is somehow or another evil and that I should never make money on what I write.

I got one thing to say about that:

You try living for 6 years without a job and tell me how the heck it feels.

I am not going to sit here and live like a pauper, because some asshole far-leftist with an attitude decides that ads on a blog, is somehow contributing to some corporate monster or something stupid like that.

 

Popups??!?! Aaaaah!

I know, I do not like them either, but you know what? I do not see many people tossing coins in my tip jar. PayPal buttons are there and I, so far, have gotten nothing. So, screw it. I am going all pop up and every darned thing. Maybe if enough people get annoyed with the pop-up ads, maybe they will start tossing some paper in the donation can. Also too, I don’t wanna hear no bullshit about how the fuck I sold out to the money either. Ain’t like I am getting rich on this bullshit. I do this stuff, because I ain’t really got shit else to do.

Update: I decided not to go with the pop ups. They are tossing URL’s that made my virus software go crazy. Which is not a good thing. I really don’t know if the threats were legit or just my over sensitive virus software; either way, they’re history, that is, if I have gotten the darned things disabled in the mode. Hopefully, I got all that disabled.

Way I see it, y’all e-mail me all the fucking time and tell me how good I am doing and how much you love this fucking site. The start putting in my tip jar or deal with the fucking ads!

Anyhow, there it is, my explanation about why I got all these ads. Not like I owe anybody any damned thing anyhow. I do this shit to amuse myself, not to please any of you.

Update #2: I also wanted to update this and say, this: Yeah, the language in this piece was harsh. I was in a bit of grumpy mood. My sleeping habits have been a bit strange. I’ve tried my darndest to get straightened out. It has been an ongoing battle for a while now. Hence the language. So, if anyone was offended, I apologize, it’s nothing personal. I just wish the side made more money, that’s all.

Changed themes…again….

Okay here is the deal on the looks change.

The 3 column that I was running, was tossing errors and when you are a production blogger, like me; that is never a good thing. Anyhow, I at first, tried WordPress’s newest theme, Twenty-Twelve. Well, it was nice, but it had some issues that I really did not like, in the display department. So, I ditched it and got this one here, which was made by the same people in 2011. Looks-wise, I like this one much better than the other one.

So, there’s that. Nerd

December and to the end of the year fundraiser

It is tough being an independent and not down with the partisan crowds. Because of this, nobody wants to get behind you.
