It is official: Chris Christie is done

This is not really shocking, but sad to see. (Via the Corner)

The former Port Authority official who personally oversaw the lane closings on the George Washington Bridge in the scandal now swirling around Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey said on Friday that the governor knew about the lane closings when they were happening, and that he had the evidence to prove it.

In a letter released by his lawyer, the official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christie’s who was appointed with the governor’s blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago.

“Mr. Wildstein contests the accuracy of various statements that the governor made about him and he can prove the inaccuracy of some,” the letter added.

The letter marked the first signal that Mr. Christie may have been aware of the closings, something he repeatedly denied during the news conference.

On Trey Radel’s resignation

Some interesting news to wake up to today:

Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.) will resign from Congress on Monday, according to multiple sources.

Radel, 37, was caught buying cocaine last year from an undercover federal agent in Washington and spent nearly a month in a rehabilitation facility. He returned to Congress after the winter recess.

Radel sent a letter to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) announcing his resignation, saying it “is my belief that professionally I cannot fully and effectively serve as a United States Representative to the place I love and call home, Southwest Florida.” He said that 2014 has already “been tremendously positive as I focus on my health, family and faith.”

Democrats may be found guilty of perjurystatutory rape or running a prostitution ring from their home – yet they never resign.

Republicans, on the other hand, are expected to resign for their sins.

Most Republicans wanted him gone after the arrest. Instead, Radel insisted that he would hold his seat after going through rehab. Unless I missed a memo, there hasn’t been any unusual events surrounding his return this month. Perhaps Radel found his welcome back to the caucus chillier than Polar Vortex I or II.

I’m still not sure what changed Radel’s mind. His return was about as uneventful as he might have hoped. Unless more revelations are on their way, he had a pretty smooth glide path to obscurity in 2014 already.

Furthermore, let me add to that to answer Hoft’s complaint; who is Anthony Weiner, chopped liver?!?!? He resigned his office, after the revelations about him. This is why I am not a regular reader of Gateway Pundit or Breitbart; because:

  1. Both are confirmed neoconservative blogs that are not above propaganda
  2. Both sensationalize their headlines to the point of fudging the truth

This is why you do not see them in my blogroll or in my rss feeds in the sidebar. Some people believe that there is no difference between paleoconservatism and neoconservatism; I disagree and the above is a perfect example why.

Now back to the matter of Radel; he most likely went back to Florida and was greeted with the icy reception from hell; and quickly decided that his future in politics was basically over. There is a reason for this, it is because Conservatives, especially social conservatives, do not want some coke headed buffoon representing them in Congress. Unlike the Democrats who could honestly care less about such things. It is called morality; and some Republicans and Conservatives, at least some of them anyhow; still care about such things.

So, to the bloggers on the right; no there is no conspiracy here. Nor is there any sort of double standard. It is simple the Republican base wanting a true, moral, Conservative in D.C. and not some two-bit coke head living a lie.

Obama to announce overhaul to NSA program

This should be really interesting….:

(Reuters) – President Barack Obama will announce on Friday a major overhaul of a controversial National Security Agency program that collects vast amounts of basic telephone call data on foreigners and Americans, a senior Obama administration official said.

In an 11 a.m. (1600 GMT) speech at the Justice Department, Obama will say he is ordering a transition that will significantly change the handling of what is known as the telephone “metadata” program from the way the NSA currently handles it.

This is the part of President Obama’s job that I would not do, even if they offered me a million dollars a day to do it. Doing the balancing act between national security and privacy is not an easy task. On one hand, you have the people who want to protect America from terrorist attacks; on the other, you have those who want to keep the privacy of Americans safe.

The article goes on to say what Obama has in store. I highly recommend that you go read it. Because needless to say; this is going to make many people, on both sides of the argument, very unhappy.

 

So-called queer “Conservative” quits the GOP, takes his balls and goes home

One Word: Good.

We do not need people like him in the GOP no how.

Jimmy LaSalvia is a lifelong conservative activist. He likes low taxes and limited government and refers to the political party that disagrees with these views as the “Democrat” Party. He’s also gay and for years has been leading the fight for a place in the Republican Party for fellow gay conservatives; LaSalvia even started an advocacy group called GOProud when he found the Log Cabin Republicans to be far too liberal. But, on Monday, LaSalvia finally threw in the towel and changed his registration to be an independent. On his blog, he wrote “So, now I feel huge sense of freedom. I am an independent conservative. (That sounds much better than ‘gay Republican.’)”

In an interview with The Daily Beast, LaSalvia explained why he left the GOP. “I came to the realization that the leadership of the Republican Party just doesn’t share my principles and my values” said the conservative activist. “I am a limited government conservative and they’re big government people. I do not tolerate bigotry in any form and they do.  So I came to realize that they are wrong and I can’t continue to defend them or to let them stain my reputation any longer.”

 

Here is the problem with the above, homosexualiy according to the Word of God; that being the Holy Bible —- which is, in my belief system is the King James Bible — is a sin and an abomination to the Lord.

Here are the Holy Scriptures on the subject, including a quote from an inferior version of the Bible for those who cannot read proper english:

These beliefs are the core doctrines of Christianity. The Word of God. There is no tolerance, there is no looking away from that, it is the Word of God; period, end of discussion.

But yet, this so-called queer “Conservative” Jimmy LaSalvia says that I am bigoted, because I choose to believe this? That, in itself, is intolerance. Jimmy says that we Christians are bigoted, because we refuse to back away from what the Bible says and endorse this idiotic, Satanic idea that homosexuality is just normal. Sorry, Jimmy. But, you are simply guilty of what you accuse we Christians of being — Intolerant.

True Conservatism, tolerates other people’s opinions and does not wish to expel them from any sort of a political group. Ronald Reagan knew the truth and that truth is that Conservatism to work, required a three-legged stool. That stool was a three-legged stool, consisting of religious conservatives, national security conservatives, and economic/libertarian conservatives. Without one of these that stool would collapse under its own weight.

Another way of putting it is this: You try and expel social Conservatives or properly named, Conservative Christians out of the GOP? You will never win another election ever again. Conservative Christians; the larger group evangelical and the smaller group, Fundamentalists like myself; represent the biggest voting bloc in the GOP. If we go, so do your votes. You cannot win elections simply upon the idea of promoting only fiscal conservatism and defense. It simply will not work. It was tried in 1964 with Berry Goldwater and the GOP lost and I mean badly. The Christians HATED Berry Goldwater! In the end there was an ill fated attempt to mend fences with them; but it was too little too late.

So, there are few things that I would wish of Jimmy LaSalvia:

  1. I wish that he would truly accept Christ and turn his back on that sodomite lifestyle.
  2. I wish that would learn a bit of tolerance for those whom he disagrees with
  3. or at least, I wish we would stop lying to people and telling them that he is some sort of a Conservative. Because when you get down to the reality of the situation, it is impossible for homosexuals to be Conservatives or even Christians. Just be real and tell everyone that you are liberal and go to the Democratic Party where you truly belong.

That is all.

 

Feds charge white “Knockout Game” suspect with hate crime charges

They won’t lay a finger on blacks who do it to white people, but you let a white man hit a black man and it’s on.

Federal authorities said Thursday they have arrested and charged a Texas man in connection with the “knockout game,” accusing him of a hate crime for targeting a black man for a vicious street attack.

Most knockout victims that have appeared in news reports have been white, but the Justice Department said in this instance the victim was a 79-year-old black man, and stepped in with federal charges.

“Suspected crimes of this nature will simply not be tolerated,” said Kenneth Magidson, the U.S. attorney for the southern district of Texas. “Evidence of hate crimes will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted with the assistance of all our partners to the fullest extent of the law.”

The Justice Department said it filed a criminal complaint against 27-year-old Conrad Alvin Barrett on Tuesday and arrested him on Thursday.

According to Justice officials, Mr. Barrett recorded himself on his cellphone attacking the 79-year-old man, laughing and saying “Knockout” as he runs away.

The 79-year-old man had his jaw broken in the Nov. 24 attack.

“The plan is to see if I were to hit a black person, would this be nationally televised?” Mr. Barrett says in the video, according to the authorities.

Pretty ironic is it not? Also too:

The “game” has spawned a fierce debate since many of the reported victims have been white and their assailants have been black, but hate crimes charges have been all but non-existent.

Last month New York authorities did charge one person with a hate crime, saying the assailant targeted a Jewish man.

I believe that is pretty ironic too. Just sayin’. 🙄

 

 

Correcting Patrick J. Buchanan

I quote Patrick J. Buchanan here quite a bit. However, in his latest column, Pat misses the mark a bit.

Pat Writes:

Contrast if you will the sins for which Phil Robertson is being blacklisted with those of the Hollywood Ten.

He is a fundamentalist Christian professing his belief in what he holds to be Bible truths about sin, homosexuality, heaven and hell. For so doing, he is being censored by elites who wish to deny him access to the medium they largely control — television.

And what were the comparable sins of the Hollywood Ten?

You see that part up there, that I underlined and turned red? That is where Mr. Buchanan is wrong. Phil Robinson is no more a Fundamentalist, that I am a Roman Catholic. One look at Mr. Roberson’s Church’s website will prove that. I don’t see any statement of faith, I do not see any King James Bible quotations, I do not see any conservatively dressed young man and women. All I see is a website full of, what David W. Cloud calls, “Rock and Roll Christianity.”  That last link in the previous sentence is a link to a man who is a Fundamentalist Christian! Phil Robertson is nothing more than someone who is a part of the compromising Evangelical apostate form of Christianity.

While Phil Robertson has some great values, of which I am in agreement with; I will not sit here and candy coat it and tell you something that is not true. I mean, the actual show, Duck Dynasty is a Evangelical Christian’s dream; and a Fundamentalist Christian’s nightmare! I mean you have an intro that features, ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” for a intro video. You have the Robertson’s in a Bentley, and wearing rings and dressed like wealthy people. Is that not glamorizing materialistic things?

Not only that, but in one of the episodes, where Willie Robertson’s daughter was going to the prom, or something to that effect; Willie does not like the length of her dress. So, She tries a bunch of dresses, Willie likes none of them. Instead of standing his ground and not allowing her to dress like a slut. Willie Robertson caves to the wishes of his daughter and his wife! That does not sound very Fundamentalist Christian to me! Not only that, but in one episode, you had the Robertson brother wives, ordering a man around like he was some sort of a mindless stooge! Since when did women start usurping authority over a man? Does not the Bible say that they are not supposed to do this?

In closing: The Robertsons might have their Christianity basics down very well. However, they fall short of what we Fundamentalists and we old school Baptists consider to be Biblical Christianity.

Obama’s alarming similarities to Bush

This is a very interesting article and it is written fairly, I believe:

Claiming a mandate he never had, the newly reelected president foisted a bold agenda upon Congress and the public, then watched it collapse within months—a victim of scandal, cynical opponents, and his own hubris. One despairing adviser declared, “This is the end of the presidency.”

That was George W. Bush in 2005. Or was it Barack Obama this past year? Reading Peter Baker’s extraordinary account of the Bush-Cheney era, Days of Fire, I found a striking number of parallels between Bush’s fifth year in office and the atrocious first 12 months of President Obama’s second term.

My takeaway: Obama needs to shatter the cycle of dysfunction (his and history’s) or risk leaving office like Bush, unpopular and relatively unaccomplished.

Now the partisans on both sides will object to the piece and that is to be expected. But those of us, who do not suffer from such illness, will read it and agree.

What astounds me is that the American people actually allowed themselves to be fooled by the President who promised a change of business with his new Presidency. Only to find out that it was the same old Washington business as usual. For that, America is a less great Country. Sad how our Nation has become a people of useful idiots.

Let’s get real about Christopher Hitchens

I think that it is time that someone told the truth about this man; and I am just the person to do it.

It seems that Reason magazine wants to turn this man into some sort of a saint:

Christopher Hitchens died on this date two years ago. Hitchens was the model of a public intellectual. He was certainly public in his positions and arguments, which allows for anyone interested to assess a person’s arguments. And he was intellectually honest in a way that is uncommon, with many (most?) thinkers curtailing their views if they threaten a broader ideological identity. Though definitely a man of the left, Hitchens was never orthodox and ran into trouble given his positions on issues such as abortion (he was against it), foreign interventionism (he was for it), free speech deemed offensive to certain groups (he was for it), and more. While he rarely missed opportunities to offend right-wing sensibilities (he once joked about Ronald Reagan’s Alzheimer’s clearly having started with the president was still in office), he didn’t hold back against the left, either. He had few kind words about Martin Luther King, Jr. and he dismissed Gandhi as a “poverty pimp.”

Okay, it is time that we really need to get real on what Hitchens really was: Hitchens was an Anti-Christian. Christopher Hitchens had no qualms about bashing Christians and Christianity itself. Furthermore, he supported Bush’s decision to go into Iraq. For Reason Magazine to act as if this man was a American hero for any sort is ludicrous. Then again, to actually believe that Reason magazine is actually libertarian and not really a pseudo-neoconservative magazine is also ludicrous.

The only redeeming quality of this man was that he actually spoke well.  Other than that; I put this man squarely on the same page as Piers Morgan.  An arrogant English prick, who when it suited him; would take a swing at American Christian culture. For this, he is not saint or hero in my book. But rather someone I would just rather forget.

The fact that Reason Magazine is even trying to put this man on some sort of a libertarian or even canonized shelf, is vomit-provoking to this writer. Which is why I really do not consider Reason Magazine an ally of liberty.

With this posting, I will be removing Reason’s RSS from this blog. Because this little stunt by their writers, is just a bit more than I can stomach.

Karl Halverson Pierson – Looks like a queer liberal to me!  😛

In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as “Keynesian.”

“I was wondering to all the neoclassicals and neoliberals, why isn’t the market correcting itself?” he wrote. “If the invisible hand is so strong, shouldn’t it be able to overpower regulations?”

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing “you republicans are so cute” and posting an image that reads: “The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ’em Die, Climate Change: Let ’em Die, Gun Violence: Let ’em Die, Women’s Rights: Let ’em Die, More War: Let ’em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?”

Carl Schmidt and Brendon Mendelson, both seniors at Arapahoe High, knew Pierson. They said he had political views that were “outside the mainstream,” but they did not elaborate
