Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson suspended by A & E for telling the truth

As I am sure you must have heard. Phil Robertson from the hit TV show “Duck Dynasty” has been put in the penalty box for merely daring to speak the truth about homosexuality.

So, what did he say?

This right here:

“We’re Bible-thumpers who just happened to end up on television,” he tells me. “You put in your article that the Robertson family really believes strongly that if the human race loved each other and they loved God, we would just be better off. We ought to just be repentant, turn to God, and let’s get on with it, and everything will turn around.”

What does repentance entail? Well, in Robertson’s worldview, America was a country founded upon Christian values (Thou shalt not kill, etc.), and he believes that the gradual removal of Christian symbolism from public spaces has diluted those founding principles. (He and Si take turns going on about why the Ten Commandments ought to be displayed outside courthouses.) He sees the popularity of Duck Dynasty as a small corrective to all that we have lost.

“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong,” he says. “Sin becomes fine.”

What, in your mind, is sinful?

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

“It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me.”

Of course the intolerant queers were having none of this:

 “Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans — and Americans — who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples. Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to re-examine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”

Phil Robertson said of his suspension and about the backlash:

“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.

“However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

…and that is just what I would do too. If I were the Robinson family, I would kindly inform A & E that if Phil was no longer welcome on the show; neither was the rest of us and I would tell A & E to get their silly production equipment off of my property and proceed to get a contract with some other network; preferably one that was not so hostile to Christians!  If they tried to sue me; I would get a lawyer and fight them in court.

It is not like Phil Roberson cannot afford a lawyer! The man is a multi-millionaire.

Now do I really agree with what Phil Robertson said. Yes, I do . Totally. I would be nothing but a two-bit hypocrite if I didn’t! May the Lord Jesus Christ truly bless Phil Robertson and his family for daring to stand for the biblical truth about homosexuality.

Here’s what the word of God says:

As to why Phil Robertson is being treated this way, Jesus said the following:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  – (John 15:18-19 KJV)

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. – (1 Peter 2:7-8 KJV)

This is why the world hates people like Phil Robertson and like me; and like every other Christian, who actually believes the Word of God — because we are followers of Christ and of his Word. The Word of God is offensive to those who are not of the body of Christ.

Phil Robertson spoke the truth according to the Word of God. He also dared to speak his mind about the subject. For this, he was punished. We, as Christians, are not of this World. Phil Robertson just learned that the hard way.

Oregon Teacher fired for opposing planned parenthood

This is another sign that the totalitarian left does not tolerate any other sort of worldview, other than their own, of course.

A teacher in Oregon was fired over openly opposing the construction of a Planned Parenthood facility, alleges a California-based pro-life legal organization.

The Life Legal Defense Foundation of Napa has stated that Bill Diss was wrongfully fired from his teaching position by Portland Public Schools on Monday.

Rebekah Millard, staff counsel with the Foundation, told The Christian Post about how her organization became involved in the matter.

“Mr. Diss requested our assistance several months ago. He was fired Monday, Dec. 16, following a vote by the Portland Public Schools Board; however, he had been on paid leave since March,” said Millard.

“We are currently in discussions with Mr. Diss and are considering legal options, but cannot discuss what those may be at this point.”

According to the foundation’s website, Diss was a critic of Planned Parenthood’s construction of a new facility in downtown Portland. His efforts were done outside of the classroom.

The current action follows Mr. Diss’ opposition to being forced to facilitate presenters from the Teen Outreach Program (TOP), a program administered by Planned Parenthood, coming into his tutorial session to recruit students.

“Bill Diss is a well qualified teacher with a track record of success,” states Dana Cody, President and Executive Director of Life Legal Defense Foundation. “As the circumstances surrounding this termination demonstrate, Mr. Diss has done nothing that would merit being fired from his job. LLDF will pursue every possible avenue in defending Mr. Diss’ rights in this matter, and hopes to see his rights ultimately protected despite PPS’ actions.”

I would suggest you head on over and read the rest of that, including the background of the situation. It looks like to me here, that this School district is just trying to fire a man for his beliefs. Which is totally wrong. Here is hoping he sues the living snot out of them and gets a good settlement.

Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La introduced the Next Generation Television Marketplace Act which seeks to get rid of “must-carry” rules honoring free, local television.

 The National Religious Broadcasters organization is urging Congress not to pass the bill.

Dr. Jerry Johnson, president and CEO of NRB, said the bill “would be a significant detriment to Christian TV stations and the viewers who rely on them for spiritual guidance.”

The “must-carry” rules require cable companies to pick up many local television broadcast stations, including religious stations. These rules were enacted by Congress in 1992 and upheld by the Supreme Court in 1997.

MAJOR UPDATE SEE BELOW! – Ohio Democrats want to force all homeschool parents to be investigated

Once again, Democrats prove themselves to be totalitarians.

The Story:

A proposal by a state senator in Ohio, Cafri Cafaro, a Democrat, would require every homeschooling parent in Ohio to be investigated – and approved of – by various social services agencies before they would be allowed to teach their own children.

And officials with the Home School Legal Defense Association say it is the “worst-ever homeschool law proposed.”

“SB 248 is breathtakingly onerous in its scope,” says a report assembled by Michael Donnelly, an attorney with the world’s premiere homeschool advocacy organization. “It requires all parents who homeschool to undergo a social services investigation, which would ultimately determine if homeschooling would be permitted. Social workers would have to interview parents and children separately, conduct background checks and determine whether homeschooling is recommended or not.

“If it is not recommended, parents would have to submit to an ‘intervention’ before further consideration of their request to homeschool.”

The proposal was offered as a response to the child abuse death of Teddy Foltz-Tedesco, 14, who reportedly had been abused for years by his mother’s boyfriend, Zaryl Bush.

And while that certainly is a tragic case, the marginal involvement of homeschool was not the reason for the tragedy, HSLDA explained.

“HSLDA condemns child abuse and is saddened by Teddy’s death,” the organization said in a statement. “HSLDA supports the prosecution of child abusers like Bush and the improvement of systems that prevent child abuse. However, this proposed law does not actually address the problems that led to Teddy’s death and instead unfairly targets homeschooling.”

Homeschool experts explained that in the case of the 14-year-old, reports indicated that he had been abused for years, and after teachers reported the abuse to authorities, Teddy’s mother withdrew him from public school, allegedly to homeschool him.

The facts are that neighbors, friends, family, police, teachers and others all knew the 14-year-old was being abused, HSLDA said.

“Finally, Bush beat Teddy so severely that he later died of his injuries. Bush and Teddy’s mother now are in prison,” the group said.

“Teddy Foltz-Tedesco was killed because those responsible for protecting him did not step in as the law or common sense would have dictated. Why?” HSLDA said in a statement. “Although news reports indicate that abuse had been reported for years prior to Teddy’s death, it does not appear that any serious intervention was made by government authorities charged with investigating such allegations.

“Why was not enough done to protect Teddy from known abuse?”

Subjecting hardworking parents who want to invest their time and money in their own children’s education is not the way to address such problems, HSLDA argued.

During the summer of 2013, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police [RCMP] used the Alberta flood as cover to conduct a test run for a massive door to door gun confiscation.

Sun News says High River, Alberta was turned into a “Totalitarian Disney Land.”

RCMP ordered thirteen thousand residents of High Water to evacuate. Then they went house to house smashing in doors, and looting homes. Some residents say they smashed doors that weren’t even locked.

Over 1,900 homes were illegally entered. RCMP storm troopers stole legal firearms from over 100 of those houses.

Residents of High Water were barred from even viewing their homes for 26 days. Homes were allowed to become completely destroyed because residents were banned from starting the cleanup.

My friends, we must, at all costs, prevent this sort of thing from happening here in America.

 

Obama’s alarming similarities to Bush

My takeaway: Obama needs to shatter the cycle of dysfunction (his and history’s) or risk leaving office like Bush, unpopular and relatively unaccomplished.
