On Putin’s Op Ed in NYT

It’s nothing more than soviet communism:

My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust. I appreciate this. I carefully studied his address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States’ policy is “what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional.” It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

via What Putin Has to Say to Americans About Syria – NYTimes.com.

  1. It is classic soviet communism to say that there should be no difference between anyone; everyone should have the same, no rich, no poor — everyone the same. That is one the classic tenets of soviet communism.
  2. It is gross distortion of the Bible as well. The Bible says that “God is no respecter of persons.” What it does not say, is that we should all be of one class. God never promised any sort of wealth in the Bible at all.

Again, Putin is trying and it seems to making a mockery of Obama, and quite honestly, it is quite deserved. You simply do not draw a line in the sand and then try to erase it, because it makes you look weak.

I never thought I would ever see the say, when an American President was made sport of, by a soviet-era crypto-communist. It is a sad thing to behold.

Sorry, But Terry Jones BELONGS in Jail!

Yes, that is correct; he belongs in jail.

But, first, here is the story via LA Times:

Florida officials have arrested radical anti-Islam preacher Terry Jones as he was on his way to a Sept. 11 event where he planned to burn 2,998 Korans, according to local news reports Wednesday.

Jones is best known for stoking Muslim anger by publicly desecrating the religion’s holy book, sometimes with international consequences.

This time law enforcement officials intervened before Jones could carry out his plans for a ceremonial Sept. 11 burning.

Jones had planned to set alight 2,998 Korans at a Polk County park for the 12-year anniversary, with each Koran “representing one of the victims, every person who was murdered by Islam,” according to one of his news releases — a casualty total that perhaps accidentally included the 19 hijackers.

County officials had reportedly denied Jones’ permit application to use the Loyce E. Harpe Park near Mulberry for the burning.

Before the event, which Jones had planned to attend anyway, the Gainesville-based preacher was reportedly arrested for driving with kerosene in a barbecue grill, officials told The Ledger, a Polk County newspaper. A local ABC affiliate reported that Jones had Korans inside the grill.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Now, about why I say this: The answer is found in a video that is found on my long bio page:

That, and that alone is why Terry Jones belongs in jail. He is trying to stoke the ire of the Muslim community. Contrary to what some might actually believe, there are peaceful honorable Muslims that live here in America. Burning the Koran simply is insulting all Muslims for the sake of a small number of radicals.

Last time this idiot did this, America Military staff were killed in Afghanistan. This should not be allowed to happen. There is a personal responsibility that comes with our freedoms; and if someone like this guy misuses the freedoms that he has, he should be punished for it.

This is not a liberal or progressive opinion, this is simply a matter of common sense. You don’t yell fire in a movie theater; so why stoke the ire of the Muslim community? It is idiotic and does nothing to advance the cause of Liberty. Sadly, we live in a time, where knee-jerk reactionaries exist and because of this, America is much poorer place.

In closing: There are many, many ways to remember those who died on 9/11 — burning copies of the Koran is not one of them.

September 11, 2001 – 12 Years Ago Today (With Video)

I can tell you where I was on that fateful day. I was unemployed at the time. I had worked for Art Moran GMC in Southfield as a Painter’s helper. I had been laid off, due to the slight downturn or recession in the economy. I was out on my front porch, drinking coffee with my Father.

I went in, to get a refill of coffee for my mug, when I went through the door, my Mother told me, that someone had flown a plane into the World Trade Center building in New York. That is when I went downstairs and turned on the TV to CNN, which I always watched back then; and that is when my life and the rest of America’s life changed forever.

I can honestly tell you that the only time that I honestly felt scared for my life, is when the report went out over CNN that there was a plane headed for the White House. That plane turned out to be the one that crashed in Shanksville, Pa. What I will tell you is this; I do not ever want to feel that sort of fear, ever again. While I am not a big fan of Wilsonian foreign policy, I am for catching and/or killing those that stoke that sort of fear. I hope and pray that the trials of those connected to this horrific event are quick and that justice is carried out. The bastards that did this, do not deserve any sort of special treatment at all. May they burn in the devil’s hell forever. 😡

Here is video from that day, from Fox News:

May we never forget, and never forget who did it. Just as well; let us not forget why they did it and what we can do, as Americans, to prevent it from happening again — like electing real Conservatives, not Wilsonian loving neoconservatives and liberals.

I wonder what Obama said to Israel President Peres to change his mind?

This is quite interesting:

Israel President Shimon Peres said at a Wednesday graduation ceremony for naval recruits that he trusts President Obama and President Putin, when it comes to forging a deal to bring a peaceful solution to Syria’s chemical weapon dilemma.

“I know both President Obama and President Putin, and I am convinced that if an agreement is reached it will be reliable, explicit and significant,” he said, The Times of Israel reported.

Just two days earlier, he was touting a different line, however.

Hours after Russia’s foreign minister announced the forged deal with Syria for President Bashar Assad to turn his chemical weapons cache over to the international community’s control, Mr. Peres said “the Syrians are not trustworthy,” and the supposed agreement meant very little. On Wednesday, the Israeli leader still spoke with skepticism about Mr. Assad, but said that Mr. Obama and Mr. Putin could overcome.

Makes one wonder what was said behind the scenes. Maybe Obama said “support me or else?”

An about face like that from Israel is rare.

Please note: At one point, I had thought about not posting these videos anymore. Mainly because of criticism from a well-known atheist. Well, after praying about it and really reflecting on it; I have decided that I am not going to allow other people tell me how to run this blog. It is mine, and I reserve the right to publish whatever I darned well please here. If fundamentalist atheists don’t not like it; too bad. This is a political blog, and not a Christian one; however, I will not hide my Christian beliefs, just to appease someone, who’s mission in life is to criticize with whom he disagrees with. I don’t work like that, never have, never will….

I have to agree with this one here.

Ron is right:

Was anybody’s mind changed by that speech? I can’t imagine it. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t convincing either. It’s about the best attempt one could imagine to sell an incoherent, bad policy.

Early in the speech, the president talked about how we know for a fact that Assad’s military carried out the gas attack. Sorry, but I don’t believe the US government. If I were a betting man, I would lay money on the likelihood that the Assad government did this thing. But after Iraq, I don’t believe what our government says about such things. ABC’s Terry Moran, reporting from Beirut after the speech tonight, said that people in the Middle East simply do not take America at its word when it makes these claims, not after the Iraq debacle. All credit to the prudent judgment of the people of the Middle East.

I was not overly sold on Obama’s speech either. He sounded like a college kid trying to sell marketing plan really. Plus too, after Iraq; I simply do not trust this Government to tell the truth.
