It Begins: Protester arrested with a machete at RNC Convention

This is unreal….

TAMPA —

A Republican National Convention protestor was arrested while he allegedly carried a machete strapped to his leg, according to deputies.

According to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s officials, Jason T. Wilson, of Tallahassee, was arrested as he walked in the RNC Event Zone carrying a “full size” machete.

When deputies approached Wilson, they said he continued to walk away despite orders to stop.

“When deputies caught up to Wilson, he advised he did not have to stop and that he was allowed to carry whatever he wanted,” HCSO spokesperson Larry McKinnon said.

When deputies attempted to physically stop him, Wilson allegedly began resisting arrest and was physically restrained.

Wilson was arrested and taken to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on charges of prohibited items in event zone and resisting arrest with violence.

Also too, there is a report that antiRNC protesters are trying to shut down the EMS communications.  Add to the mix a category 2 hurricane coming ashore. You have chaos. This is your far left.

UPDATED: Anti-Ron Paul bile on full display at HotAir.com and Slate.com

I will fully admit, I do not agree 100 percent with Representative Ron Paul’s views. However, since watching the Wall Street meltdown and the economic downturn that followed; I have come to appreciate Ron Paul’s views on fiscal policy. Furthermore, I share Ron Paul’s views on Federalism.

Now I shall fully admit, that I somewhat disagree a tiny bit with Ron Paul’s views on foreign policy. However, I happen to be browsing over at HotAir.com and I saw something there that disgusted me quite a bit.

Over in the headline’s section of HotAir.com, which is biased quite towards Neoconservative Republicans and against anyone else who disagrees with them, I happen to see a Headline with a link to a Slate.com article about Ron Paul. The article was written by a one Dave Weigel, who is about as much of a Conservative, as I am a Homosexual. (…and I am not, in case you wondered.)

What really disappointed me about this, is the asinine bile posted in the comments section of HotAir’s headline section towards Ron Paul.  It is quite amazing me me, that people can make such asinine comments like that towards a American man, who dares to simple love his Country. What really steams me is this; if someone, like me were registered there and made comments like these towards Jews, Blacks or any other protected minority, we would be banned from commenting at that site —- as I have been in the past. Oh, and trust me, my comments were very mild compared to some of the bile that is in there right now about Ron Paul, one even saying he wishes Ron Paul to be dead. I am sorry, but that is over the line, as is comparing Ron Paul to a communist or worse.

Furthermore, David Weigel’s posting, which is written in the typical elitist snobbery fashion, that is his hallmark of a failed writer.

This, my friends, is why I will not for Mitt Romney in the General 2012 election. Because even I do not agree 100% with Ron Paul’s positions, I do respect the man for what he has done and stood for in the past. It is too bad, the other so-called Conservatives cannot do that same very thing.  – Update: The part that I have lined out, is no longer true. I do now support Mitt Romney for President. I have a good reason too. Please, click here to read why I have changed my mind.

(Cross-posted to the Daily Paul)

Update: I thought of this, after I hit publish. I know what some of you might be thinking. “Okay, why did you write this, if you recommended HotAir.com in a earlier posting?” Well, I have an answer for that question:

  1. Just because I recommend a blog, like HotAir.com, does not mean that I automatically endorse said blog’s political position or Conservative stance.
  2. I do not entirely lay blame of this sort of nonsense at the feet of Ed, Allah, Mary Kathy or even Salem Communications; I blame the ignorance of those who believe the idiotic tripe written about Ron Paul —- by those who have an agenda. This is why I removed my “Israel” banner, because of this sort of ignorance. Furthermore, I blame the state of America and of politics. We have become a more hateful Nation, since the 1940’s and 1950’s.

Update #2: It also seems that this terminally unfunny idiot is getting his digs in too. Too bad that SUV didn’t break more than his knee. Just sayin’. Hey, if they can hate, so can I. 😡

Update #3: Like clockwork, the mouthpiece of the biggest and most protected minority spews forth their bile towards Ron Paul. Question: What if someone, like me; spewed forth that sort of hate towards a Jewish Senator? I think you know the answer to that one.

Neil Armstrong RIP

Farewell to a great American.

(Reuters) – U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong, who took a giant leap for mankind when he became the first person to walk on the moon, has died at the age of 82, his family said on Saturday.

Armstrong died following complications from heart-bypass surgery he underwent earlier this month, the family said in a statement, just two days after his birthday on August 5.

As commander of the Apollo 11 mission, Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969. As he stepped on the dusty surface, Armstrong said: ““That’s one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Those words endure as one of the best known quotes in the English language.

via First man on moon Neil Armstrong dead at 82 | Reuters.

Anyone over the age of 30 years old, knows who this man is; he is testament to American greatness.

Which is why the United States Government needs to get OUT of the space business. The cold war is over and we have no need to be in the space business anymore.

This is because that the space program is nothing more than dressed up big Government statism. Nothing more, nothing less. Too many NASA persons have perished, in the pursuit of so-called “science.”  We need to privatize that entire system and allow free market forces to control it.

RIP to Neil Armstrong

No, I am not going to the RNC Convention

I was not even going to blog about it, but I figured I would let all of you know. I really am not going to the Republican Party’s Convention in Tampa, Florida and I will list the reasons why:

  1. My financial  situation – I have not worked in over eight years, I blame the “disconnected from reality” politics of both parties for this; and that is on ALL levels, Federal, State and yes, local. Elections have consequences and because of this, myself and many other people that I know are paying for those stupid votes. So, the funds to go to a convention just are not there at all. End of discussion.
  2. I just do not get into establishment politics at all. – I mean, the idea of someone beating Barack Obama in this election is great and all, but to be honest with you; I have never really fit into the stereotypical “Republican” mold. I am from a working class, middle class, mostly Democratic Party voting family and neighborhood. I loathe that party with every fiber of my being, but I am not exactly smitten with the Republican Party either. Remember, just as recent as 2006, I was still running a “Historic Populist” blog. 7 years ago; Wow…. It really does not seem that long ago — that I was swearing about Bush and his politics; which were really not that Conservative or really even Constitutional.
  3. They all really, truly, hate me with a passion. — It is no secret, that I am truly the black sheep of the so-called “Conservative” blogosphere. This is mainly because of my past of being a former “Left of center” blogger and person. …and you know what? I am fine with that. I never started writing about the things that pissed me off about politics to get any sort of vain glory or popularity. I just did it to talk back to the forces that I thought were hurting this Country. So far, I have made some waves and a few enemies. Again, I am fine with that. Even if I had like a zillion bucks in the bank and could charter a flight to Tampa and had the money to stay in the nicest Hotel — I just would not bother. Hell, I cannot even afford to replace this stupid laptop that decided to wink the dashboard. Not only that, but my Mom has not gotten in a hurry to let me have back the laptop that I royally screwed up, and she managed to fix herself. So, I am still on the old monitor, which sucks to the high heavens, but, what can I do? I don’t have the money to buy a laptop. Which again, sucks. 🙁

However, I can recommend some places to read, with people that WILL be in Tampa.

  • The Other McCain, who’s owner is not really someone I like, but he’s a decent writer and will tell the truth; for the most part anyhow.
  • HotAir.com is the best, hands down, Conservative Blog around. It is in my sidebar and I read the site daily. Someone from HotAir will be there for the show. Which from what I read is going to be shortened a day.

Also too, I am sure Fox News will be there as well. I will be watching that as well. I will also give my feeling about what I see and here on the TV, like everyone else.

So, there you go, what is happening with me and the RNC Convention. If you are going to Tampa, be safe. There is a hurricane churning out at sea. If the Feds tell you to hit the road; by all means, please listen! But from what I have read, it is not expected to be that bad. The RNC is just being cautious and believe it or not, I think that is a very good thing.

Video: Mitt Romney thinks that Birtherism is “humor”

I was going to add this to my previous posting, but I thought this one needed its own little posting.

Mitten thinks he’s funny: (H/T HotAir)

Hey Mormon boy, if you think that joking about someone’s citizenship, namely the first black President of the United States of America — you have much to learn about what is and what is not humor.

For those who might actually have an issue with me calling Mitt Romney Mormon Boy; my feeling is this, if Mr. Romney does not mind making cracks about the President’s Citizenship and thereby fanning the flames of racism, then I do not mind reminding America that this clueless dolt happens to be a part of, what was considered, until around the late 1960’s to be a cult and not even remotely true Christianity.

For those who have a problem with that, I have one thing to say — in the words of William F. Buckley: Cancel your own Goddamned subscription.

Noted Jerk Liberal Blogger actually writes a fairly decent blog posting

Check it out. His liberal sneering aside; it is a decent historical account of Republican establishment trickery.

But one must remember, Democrats have done the same stuff. Remember 1968? Just sayin’

Noted Faux Conservative Mitt Romney goes full-on birther

I have seen a good deal of stupidity in elections from both sides, but this here takes the cake.

The Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qDE3RBUfzM

The Story:

Commerce, Michigan (CNN) – Mitt Romney chose a Friday campaign rally in Michigan, the state where he was born, to make reference to the highly charged and controversial “birther” movement, joking that “no one has ever asked to see my birth certificate.”

A fringe of conservative Republicans continue to believe that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. Those in that movement are referred to as “birthers.”

A certification of live birth released by Obama during the 2008 campaign, and then the long-form certificate released by the White House in the spring of 2011, both stated the president was born in a Hawaii hospital on August 4, 1961. Contemporaneously published newspaper announcements also noted the birth in the Aloha State. Only “natural born” citizens of the United States are eligible to be president.

“I love being home in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born,” Romney said on Friday. “Ann was born at Henry Ford hospital, I was born at Harper hospital. No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

via TRENDING: Romney goes THERE: ‘Birther’ joke raises conspiracy theory – CNN Political Ticker – CNN.com Blogs.

No, Mitt, but many people, including myself; have actually wondered if you are truly a Conservative or just some big Government Statist masquerading as a small Government Conservative Republican. Furthermore, your tendency towards Wilsonian foreign policy has been noted by more than one person.

What really steams me about this little issue is this: The Birther nonsense was not started by the Republicans; it was started by the Democratic Party, namely the Hillary Campaign in 2008. Its origins are straight out of the White Nationalist/Neo-Nazi camps though and the Hillary camp picked it up and ran with it. It is an idiotic thing and the racial undertones of it all totally disgust me to no end; and with an election this important, the last thing that Mitt Romney needs to be tagged a racist bigot by the left.

Again, I do not know who is writing his speeches and/or giving him advice, but they need to cut the crap. Because if the Republicans lose this race, we are going to be screwed and I mean badly.

So, an open message to the Mitt Romney campaign for a former Democratic Party voter, turned Buchananite/Reaganite style Conservative, who wants to see his Country great again: Cut the crap, okay? We need to get this Country back on track and making asinine statements like this, is not going to help that cause, Mitt. I mean, really. 🙄

There is truly no excuse for this, and furthermore, there is no excuse for any Conservative of any stripe to think this is funny, acceptable or even remotely legit — although there are some that believe, that it is perfectly fine to make such asinine comments. It cost John McCain the election in 2008 and it will cost Mitt Romney too.

Again, it is not funny or does it represent my views as a Conservative, not even remotely.

I accidentally messed up my Mom’s Laptop

I thought I would give you all an update on what is going on with my laptop saga. Needless to say, it has been a nerve racking 24 hours around here. As you all know my Laptop’s LCD display went on fritz. It had been acting up for a good long while. When the Laptop would boot up, it would have a reddish color to it, and sometimes it would flicker; which drove me up the wall.

Well, finally yesterday, my LCD display on my laptop finally went out, while I was watching a video on youtube. Luckily for me, I have an old SVGA 17 inch monitor, it is a Amptron GS17 monitor. It is old school, but hey, it works.

So, anyhow, my Mom, who is the greatest lady ever — lent me a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, that my dad used, before he started using an 17 inch Dell laptop, that my Mom gave to him, when she bought herself a newer 17 inch laptop.  This laptop had Windows Visa Premium in it. Also too, and please note this point: The Laptop HAS NO Harddrive LIGHT at all.

So, I got the thing, and of course, it needed like a bunch of updates, because it had not been hooked up to the Internet, in long while.  So, I started the process of getting all of those updates. In the process of doing all that, I did something stupid — I had an excuse and reason for it — But I digress.

While the laptop was apply all of the updates for Windows Visa, the update process seemed to have stalled; remember what I said about the Hard Drive light? Yeah, that’s right, I had zero clue as to what was happening in that Department. So, I committed the ultimate stupid mistake. I actually shut the machine off, while it was applying the updates.  Oops. 😳

So, needless to say, the Laptop’s hard drive “Drive Table” is hosed and I mean hosed good. Can’t boot from CD, the computer wants a driver for the Hard Drive, and naturally the driver is not on any of the CD’s that came with that laptop.  So, now, I not only have this laptop, of whom the LCD display is hosed, I also screwed my mother’s laptop, that she used on occasion in her bedroom, horribly up.

To say that my Mother was displeased with me, would be the understatement of the century. I tried to explain to her, that it really was not my fault, that I had no idea what was happening in the Hard Drive department; but all she knows is that she loaned me a laptop and that I screwed it up. 🙁

So, the chances of me getting a new laptop from my parents, at this point, is slim to nil. The horrible part is, that it is all my fault; if I would have left that damned laptop alone and let it do it’s thing, none of this would have ever happened. But it did and now, I am back to square one, and now owe my mother for the laptop that I destroyed.

I was thinking of putting up Donation buttons in this posting; but I doubt very seriously that would do any good. I know I am not well liked by anybody in the blogosphere. But, my Mom does not know this. All she knows is that I blog to defend the “Republicans” as she calls it. She also most likely thinks that “He ought to go ask his rich Republican friends for donations to cover the cost of my laptop.” Which all makes me very sad, because I happen to know that the Conservative Blogosphere and the rich Republicans, as she calls them — happen to hate my guts.

So, yeah, needless to say; I am in a serious bind. I have zero clue what to do at this point. My sidebar has a button, if you wish to donate; give enough, so I can pay my Mom for the laptop that I messed up and so I can get me a new laptop to replace the one that went out on me. I will not hold my breath, because I know my status in the blogosphere, but I have to try and make things right.

I brought it all on myself and for that I feel really small and honestly folk, that feeling really sucks to the high heavens.

Update: October 21, 2013: Someone must have done a search on this, because it popped up in my stats. I am very happy to report, that not long after this was posted, my Mom was able to do a recovery from the actual laptop itself. I don’t know all the details, all I know is, it worked. 😀 I’m still using that laptop, it works very well. 🙂

Update on laptop crisis

Just a short follow up to my sudden laptop crisis.

Well, I and parents both had forgotten that my Dad had bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 for himself, before he bought his 17 inch dell laptop. So, they’re letting use it.

The only problem I am having…. is getting the silly thing to update and boot properly.

It is a windows Vista premium machine and during an update, it stalled and I shut down and restarted. Now, I’m having problems getting the thing to boot.

So, I am putting it thought its paces with testing. Wish me luck!
