I have to admit I love to beat up on Goldman; I do it for The Daily Beast and on CNBC every chance I get. I also have to admit cheering Matt Taibbi on when I first read his Rolling Stone article.
But in the end it does no one any good to travel in conspiracy theories. Is Goldman too powerful? Maybe. Was it too big to fail back in September? Given the size of its balance sheet, Goldman’s demise would have made Lehman’s look insignificant. (And while we’re at it, conspiracy theorists, let’s put to rest once and for all that Lehman was allowed to die to remove one of Goldman’s main competitors. Yes, Lehman was competitive with Goldman in the bond market, but the only reason to bail it out was to keep the systematic risk from infecting Goldman. In letting Lehman go under, the government actually put Blankfein and company in greater peril.)
A bigger issue lost in all the back-and-forth about the firm’s connections, trading habits, and where Lloyd Blankfein was the night of September 15, 2008 when Lehman went bust, is that the American taxpayer is right this very moment subsidizing Goldman’s risk taking. That’s a scandal no one seems to want to talk about.

College Grad sues college because she cannot find a job
Good grief…. Does this mean I can sue my local job search service here in Michigan? Because I cannot find a job driving semi? or maybe the college I attended? Egad.

She has given new meaning to a class-action lawsuit.
Trina Thompson gave it the old college try, but couldn’t find work. Now she thinks her sheepskin wasn’t worth her time, and is suing her alma mater for her money back.
The Monroe College grad wants the $70,000 she spent on tuition because she hasn’t found gainful employment since earning her bachelor’s degree in April, according to a suit filed in Bronx Supreme Court on July 24.
The 27-year-old alleges the business-oriented Bronx school hasn’t lived up to its end of the bargain, and has not done enough to find her a job.
The information-technology student blames Monroe’s Office of Career Advancement for not providing her with the leads and career advice it promised.
“They have not tried hard enough to help me,” the frustrated Bronx resident wrote about the school in her lawsuit.
“She’s angry,” said Thompson’s mother, Carol. “She’s very angry at her situation. She put all her faith in them, and so did I. They’re not making an effort.
Hell, I am angry too. I took Truck Drive Training school in 2003 and I still have not been able to find a local driving job. I should sue the school, they didn’t stand on their heads to find me a job good enough. 🙄
Jonathan Turley says that suit has snowballs chance in Hades of going anywhere:
The basis of the lawsuit seems entirely frivolous and could result in sanctions unless the college made (unlikely) promises of employment.
She accuses the Office of Career Advancement for not providing her sufficient support — a common complaint among students.
The college promises a lifetime of free service for graduates, but it does not promise a job. Thompson feels that the college falsely promised support and leads for jobs.
That is the whole point. The school promises leads; not jobs. This is how colleges avoid lawsuits, they can point you in the right direction, but they cannot promise you an actual job. If any college tried to do that, they would be up to their eyeballs in lawsuits.

As many of you are already aware I DID receive a notification from Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein yesterday. It arrived in my e-mail in PDF form and you can read it over at the Alaska Report.
Now Van Flein is forcing me to make an admission that I have resisted addressing for the four plus years I have had this blog.
Yes I DO work in a Kindergarten class during the school year. My main job affords me some time during the day and I have chosen to use it teaching children to read, and helping them to become more independent. I do it because it brings me joy to work with these children and I believe, and have been told, that I am very good at it.
Hopefully that does not diminish me in the eyes of my visitors.
I NEVER discuss politics with my children and they have no idea, nor do most of the adult staff, that I am a blogger. Because to be honest that might diminish me in THEIR eyes.
So thanks to Van Flein you now know my dirty little secret. I am an assistant teacher in a room full of five year old children.
Understanding my love for my job and my desire to protect my children from a potentially frightening encounter, Van Flein threatened to serve my summons “at the kindergarten where you assist”. He did not say the “school where you work”, he specifically mentioned my classroom in order to frighten me into compliance. Why else would he have said that?

Action Alert!: A Baptist Church has a fire, has no insurance
This an action alert for all Christians and Conservatives alike. There is a Baptist Church tonight without a building to call their own. I received this information via e-mail. The pictures are a bit small; but I think everyone should get the message.
It seems that a Baptist Church, that I learned of from Chuck Baldwin‘s website, has suffered a horrible fire.

The evening of June 30, 2009, the Gateway Anabaptist Church building sustained an electrical fire rendering the complete loss of the contents and use of the current building, but no loss of any lives. Praise the Lord! Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the second floor, but water damaged all other contents – including, tracts, Bibles, books, printers, furniture….
The water-logged pews were taken out immediately and “air-dried” to use for services outside under the “tabernacle”. We will meet here until weather forces us to a rented facility.
As God provides the funds, we will be rebuilding on the same property. God has led us into a building program. We have always stated that we could use more room to facilitate our church family and all the church and printing ministries. Our old facility auditorium was a mere 29’ x 30’ but we hope to build a new full two story building 35’ x 50’ on a concrete pour, on the back corner of our property. We estimate it will cost near $125,000 and in four weeks we have raised $10,300 in gifts so far. Once the new building is done we will then level the old building to make more parking. So, we totally trust God, by faith, to give us a miracle. We know the task is immense, but God is bigger than this “bump in the road”. The enemy meant it for evil, …but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20

Could this be the actual Birth Certificate of President Obama? Update: It's Bogus

California attorney Orly Taitz, who has filed a number of lawsuits demanding proof of Barack Obama’s eligibility to serve as president, has released a copy of what purports to be a Kenyan certification of birth and has filed a new motion in U.S. District Court for its authentication.
The document lists Obama’s parents as Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann Obama, formerly Stanley Ann Dunham, the birth date as Aug. 4, 1961, and the hospital of birth as Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.
No doctor is listed. But the alleged certificate bears the signature of the deputy registrar of Coast Province, Joshua Simon Couya. It was allegedly issued as a certified copy of the original in February 1964.
WND was able to obtain other birth certificates from Kenya for purposes of comparison, and the form of the documents appear to be identical.
Last week, a counterfeit document purporting to be Obama’s Kenyan birth certificate made the rounds of the Internet, but was quickly determined to be fraudulent. The new document released by Taitz bears none of the obvious traits of a hoax.
Taitz told WND that the document came from an anonymous source who doesn’t want his name known because “he’s afraid for his life.”
Taitz’s motion, filed yesterday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, requests the purported evidence of Obama’s birth – both the alleged birth certificate and foreign records not yet obtained – be preserved from destruction, asks for permission to legally request documents from Kenya and seeks a subpoena for deposition from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“I filed the motion with the court asking for expedited discovery, which would allow me to start subpoenas and depositions even before Obama and the government responds,” Taitz told WND. “I am asking the judge to give me the power to subpoena the documents from the Kenyan embassy and to require a deposition from Hillary Clinton so they will be forced to authenticate [the birth certificate].
“I’m forcing the issue, where Obama will have to respond,” she said.
“Before, they said, ‘You don’t have anything backing your claims,'” Taitz explained. “Now I have something. In fact, I have posted on the Internet more than Obama has. My birth certificate actually has signatures.”
Of course, already the terrorist supporters and Liberal traitors to America are already discounting this story. These are same ones who stabbed supporters of Israel in the back. So, this is not much of surprise.The funny thing is, these America and Israel hating, Terrorist loving bastards try to spin this into some sort of opposition to Nazi Fascism; when in reality they are the ones who are the Jew haters and Islamic terrorist sympathizers. You see, liberals know how this man was elected. By Islamic and terrorist sympathizers abroad. It has been documented how there was no credit card verification system in place and one could add an address from anywhere and get away with it. In fact, the Federal Election Commission’s server is so slow, that it is impossible to go through the names of any of the candidates to check for fraud. Is this just consequential or is it by design? Those are the facts that I and many other America-loving patriots want to know.
Until we get these questions are answered. There will be no stop in the quest to find out the truth. Is President Barack Hussein Obama really a citizen of the Unite States of America? Until he releases the ORIGINAL, not a copy, but the ORIGINAL long form birth certificate. Real, clear thinking Americans, like me, will have assume that he is not.

One of my friends in the small community of Obama “birther”-debunkers passes on quite the discovery: a 1964 “certified copy of registration of birth” from Australia, easily available on Bomford.net, a genealogy site. There are striking similarities between this document and the one Orly Taitz is passing off as a “Kenyan birth certificate” for Barack Obama.
– The design is identical, down to the seal at the top and the classifications (”Christian name,” etc) used for identifying the baby.
– The “registrar” on the Bomford document is G.F. Lavender. On the Taitz document, it’s E.F. Lavender.
– The “district registrar” on the Bomford document is J.H. Miller. On the Taitz document, it’s M.H. Miller.
– The number of the book is identical on both documents: Book 44B, Page 5733.
What’s more likely — that two Kenyan bureaucrats shared last names with two Australian bureaucrats, and that the numbers on both certificates were identical? Or that someone used this document, available online for anyone who wanted to look, to forge the Obama “certificate?”
