A few final words before I hit the hay

I am sure you have noticed that my posting has been a bit light as of late.

There is a reason.

For one, my laptop keyboard was not working properly; this has been fixed, the keyboard was replaced. Never thought that the damn “N” key was so vital to one’s ability to communicate properly.ย  Thank God for extended warranties.

Another thing is; I am just getting bored of it all. There’s nothing really worth writing about anymore. Politics is beginning to sound like a broken record anymore. Hits are down, as are clicks on ads.

I’m not saying that I am shutting down, at least not yet. I am just either burning out or just getting quite jaded.

It’s the cynic in me. I’m just become cynical of the whole lot and wonder if this is what I want to continue to write about.

Writing is a wonderful thing; Computers have made it so much easier for me to do. But writing about things that you honestly give two shits about helps too. It all means nothing if you are cynical about the subject that you are writing about.

It was never my intention to become a politico. It was just what was happening at the time and I wanted to add my voice to the discussion. But now, that discussion has changed course; some for the bad, some for the good. Most of it is more of the same. Do not get me wrong; spiking Liberals and Obama for their stupidity is fun. But when the stupidity becomes routine, it just gets old. Eventually the novelty wears off.

Which is where I am now. The novelty of blogging was worn off; and now I feel like I am having to drag myself to even write about anything anymore. What is also compounding this is the fact is, that there are just no returns for the amount of time that I am investing in the blog. I mean, I am not exactly a money grubbing person. But a little payment for my effort would be nice… and quite bluntly, I am not getting anything at all out of this.ย  Sorry, but $179 and pocket change is not what I call a huge return for over four years worth of writing.

So, at this point, I really do not know what I want to do. I may just take a break. Then again, something huge might break and I might be back in the trenches. But as of right now. I am thinking of just not writing anything, unless it is huge. I need the break.

Anyhow… Hopefully I will be around. I will inform everyone, if I decide to open another blog or something. But for now, I think I just need to relax and get away from the politico stuff for a few days.

The Taste of Success!

Recession? What Recession?

There might be one; but Iโ€™m not participating in it. ๐Ÿ˜€

Since the last time that Google Adsense sent me a check. This Blog has made $217.83 as of today. Recently, I received a payment of $179.25. I know what some of your thinking. You are most likely snickering at the amount. ๐Ÿ˜›

To be quite honest, that is pretty darned good for a newer Blog and a Political one for that matter. Not to mention a Conservative Blog that is totally independent and not affiliated with any sort of special interest group and one that has not done any real advertising.

My Hosting provider; Ryan Yaple, of EWF Media will be getting a PayPal payment from me for giving me the hosting for all this time. Just as soon as it is released to me, to transfer it to him. ๐Ÿ™„ Funny how slow that is.

One of the biggest and greatest rules of success in small business or in building a business; is celebrating oneโ€™s accomplishments. Even the small ones.

So, I did. I drove over to the local Meijerโ€™s here in my local city and bought me a nice whole round, boneless steak. I went out back and fired up Dadโ€™s grill and this was the result:

steak001

(Click the picture to make the Photo Bigger)

Another shot:

steak002

In case you cannot tell, that is two different pieces of steak there, and not one big one. Yes, I ate it all and yes, it was quite tasty. ๐Ÿ˜€

The real awesome part about all of this is this; I did not need the Government to give me a hand out to achieve all this. I did it all by myself. (With the help of a good friend of mine as wellโ€ฆ) I earned the money from the advertisements the right way and not though scams or deceptions. All Because I dared to put up a Blog that criticizes the socialist politics of the B. Hussein Obama Administration.

A Round of Thank Youโ€™s

Again, A big thank you to my hosting provider, Ryan Yaple of EWF Media, who hails from Brighton, Michigan. Who felt sorry for me; when I got jerked around by a guy who thought it would be cool to take my money and then renege on a verbal agreement. Ryan, again, I will say it. You are the best that America has young man. That money will be in your hands, just as soon PayPal lets me have it! ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜†

Another Big thank you is to my faithful readers; you know who you are. I see the site numbers and I see who reads what. Thank you for clicking the banner ads. Every little bit helps. Please note, that there is a PayPal donation button on here; it is on the right, at the top. Also, please note, that I have 3 ad spots on BlogAds. and 4 ad spots on Project Wonderful. Please, keep up your readership, and tell your friends about this site!

To the restoration of Conservatism in America!

Rachel Lucus visits Auschwitz and Birkenau

This most likely one of Rachel’s best postings ever.

Memorable Quote:

Someone told me a few months ago that Auschwitz would be a life-changer for me, and they were right, but I would like to emphasize that it is a good change. In the six weeks since I was there, the majority of my previous petty concerns have stopped mattering to me, completely. I just stopped caring about a lot of things that were truly pointless. It has been a very surprising and welcome change. My experience of life is different, in a good way. Something about that day in that place made me realize that if I donโ€™t enjoy and appreciate every single moment of my charmed and comfortable life, then I am an unforgivable ass.

I donโ€™t say that lightly. It is a real thing. All of us who are able to write or read blogs, we have it easy by any measure and we are fools if we donโ€™t actively appreciate every single morsel of freedom and plenty that we have.

Amen.

A Liberal Blog pokes me in the ribs

Ouch.

I got poked in the ribs by a liberal Blogger. It was partially my fault.

Let me explain.

Ed Morrissey made a very insightful observation about Blogs a while back. Basically Ed said that Blogs were a sketch of one’s thoughts. Which is true, this is basically where I come to vent my feelings and share, with you, my feelings about this Presidential Administration and give you my take on news of the day. An online dairy of my thoughts. My own personal bully pulpit. (Hey, Mom wanted a preacher…. She got me…. It wasn’t all bad. I think! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ )

There are times when I write something and I do so, with the assumption that everyone else, knows what the hell I am talking about or what I am thinking at that moment.ย  Unfortunately, not everyone has access to what is happening inside my head. Consider this to be a good thing, there’s some terribly strange shit that goes on up there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This, was one of them times.

A Liberal Blog that is called “Just Another Blog from L.A.” has taken me to task for something I wrote. It was done in the typically sarcastic liberal manner. If I were one of them uppity Sean Hannity type of Conservatives, I would be ready to rip on this guy. But, seeing I am a bit more laid back than Sean. I am willing to concede that maybe I did not make myself clear.

On my posting about Ted Kennedy, I wrote the following:

He spoke loudly for the disabled, something that I can appreciate, as I am the nephew of a developmentally disabled aunt. (Also known as mentally retarded) The Democrats took up this cause; because the people that should have been taking their cause; that is the Church โ€”โ€” were too busy trying to make themselves more holy and righteous.

Well, Mr. M. Bouffant, did not like what I wrote, He quips:

Yes, let’s leave care of the disabled to “the Church.” (Catholic, we assume.) Because they’ve always done such a good job of that. See: Ireland. Or: Sexual abuses & cover-ups. The Catholic Church: Holy righteous accountability is our middle name.

Truly insane. Charity will cover anyone who can’t afford X hundred thousand dollars a yr. for care of the disabled? And the churches? That’s right, turn the schizophrenics over to the believers in fairies, who will no doubt proceed to scourge the devils right out of them. Medication? A good whipping will teach them not to see things that aren’t there.

First off, Mr. Bouffant assumes that I am a Catholic. If he would have bothered to read my About Me and F.A.Q. sections of my Blog; he would have known that I am not a Roman Catholic. Second of all, Mr. Bouffant’s anti-Christian rhetoric and attitude are duly noted. Although, he does have a point about the Roman Catholic Church’s scandals.

The problem is that, as I am known to do, at times; did not sketch out well enough, what it is that I was talking about. Partially, because I really was not interested in writing a novel and because, again, I was working within my own parameters and I assumed everyone else knew what I was talking about. Bad trait of mine; Oops, Sorry. It is not to say that I do not appreciate the criticism. I do! It keeps me on my toes and forces me to spell out what it is that I am trying to say.

Let me be clear, (Obama would overuse one of the better opening clarification statements out there… thanks Barry! You asshole. ๐Ÿ˜› ) I am well aware that “The Church” is not capable of handling ALL of the needs of the developmentally disabled. Especially some of the more severe cases. I realize that some disabled people do need the care of medical professionals; Good God, I am not that daft. But I do believe that the Church could play a more active role in support. Key word there; Support. That support could come in many different forms. I was not referring to medical care, at all.

Again, my apologies to those who, like Mr. Bouffant, may have misunderstood what it is that I was trying to say. Next time, I guess I will have to spell out what I am trying to say, I little better. Least, I take another painful poke to the ribs. ๐Ÿ˜€

A little horn tootin'

Not to toot my own horn or anything.ย  (Toot! Toot! ๐Ÿ˜† )

But I just noticed something. I got a mention on a major political magazine’s Blog.

It is over at the Atlantic’s Blog called the Atlantic Wire.

It was about my posting on the boneheaded idiot who brought his gun to an Presidential Appearance.

You can go see it here.

It kinda makes me feel, like this guy here:

Click on this link and watch the video and you’ll see what I mean. Not bugs, the other guy in the video. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have varied feelings, The 0:37 and the 6:42 marks in this sum it up.

Another Funny Blog Posting

I just love reading other people’s Blog. You read some of the funniest stuff sometimes. This time it is Robert Stacy McCain:

BTW, Cynthia called me this afternoon to say she was going to a townhall meeting with Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.).

“What should I ask him?” she said.

“Look, you’re well-informed on the issues. Just pay attention to what he says, and what questions other people are asking, and I’m sure you’ll think of something good to ask. . . . You’re a natural-born troublemaker.”

She was in kind of a hurry and said she didn’t have time to take a shower before going to the meeting. So I figure if Cardin gives her the run-around, the headline will be:

SENATOR FLEES SWEATY LESBIAN

I’m anticipating Cynthia’s report.

via The Other McCain: Billy Mays was a cokehead?.

ROFL! ๐Ÿ˜†

I do not think that I have laughed that hard in a while. Thanks Mr. McCain I needed that laugh. ๐Ÿ˜€

I do believe that this one approaches the comedic level of Tammi’s Blog posting. The first one, that is. ๐Ÿ™‚

Answering Matt Mullenweg's Snark filled Rant

Matt Mullenweg and I have had words in the past.ย  I am sure that he is a great guy; but there are times when stuff comes out of his mouth; well, in this case, from his Keyboard, that send me into a rage.

Instead of getting angry and flipping my cork on him. I figure I will answer his Blog posting on the things, that I am assuming that he finds highly annoying.

…and off we go!

There have been a number of new platforms popping up recently that claim to increase your user engagement, get you more comments, increase your traffic, and more, through means that I consider short-sighted and harmful. Since people seem not to mind, I thought Iโ€™d write a guide for how to increase the number of comments you get by 400-1,000% and ruin whatever shred of community you had on your site.

Man…. you think we can get a bit more snark in there, please? ๐Ÿ˜‰

A Blogger friend of mine needs help

realmeHis name is Sammy, He is Jewish.

I razzed him once about something and pissed him off. After a while, I felt like a dick and apologized. After we became friends, I learned much about Sammy, I found out we had much in common.

Anyway, Sammy’s now looking at some hard times right now; I can relate; many can, times are tough. I however, have a safety net of sorts. Sammy does not, he is toughing it out and making due. Job prospects are bad and he might have swallow hard and do the Walmart thing.

If you can head on over to Sammy’s Blog and give a buck or two. Consider it an act of charity to a man, who is not drinking the Kool-Aid.

Click here to read Sammy’s Blog Posting.

…..and Thank you.
