I WAS RIGHT! Chris Matthews Announces retirement

Man, I am good or what?

The video:

The Story via NBC News:

Chris Matthews, one of the longest-tenured voices at MSNBC, announced his retirement during Monday’s night’s airing of his talk show, “Hardball.”

Matthews, 74, said he and MSNBC had mutually agreed to part ways. The decision followed a series of events that resulted in criticism of the host’s statements about Bernie Sanders, African-American lawmakers, and comments he had made to female journalists and coworkers.

“I’m retiring,” Matthews said. “This is the last ‘Hardball’ on MSNBC.”

Matthews was due to retire in the near future with the events of the past week playing a factor in the timing of the move, an MSNBC spokesperson said.

After MSNBC aired a commercial following the announcement, Matthews did not return to the program. Steve Kornacki, a political reporter for the network, took over the rest of the hour, and seemed shocked by the news. “That was a lot to take in,” he said, saying it had been an honor to work with Matthews, and then beginning a discussion about the coronavirus response.

Sad way to go, But, times have changed.

UPDATED: Say goodbye to Chris Matthews

Update #2: Matthews Retires

Stage 1 of his disappearing: Via Daily Beast:

A day after he was accused of sexual harassment by a journalist, MSNBC decided to keep host Chris Matthews off its airwaves during coverage of the South Carolina primary results.

Matthews is normally a fixture of election night coverage, which made his absence on Saturday all the more notable. His disappearing act came as MSNBC faced calls from a feminist organization to fire him because of sexism and sexual misconduct allegations—after raised eyebrows over other on-air remarks.

<….>

MSNBC did not immediately return a request for comment.

It’s starting.

—-Original Story Below—-

Honestly, I do not see Chris Matthews surviving this report.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews, whose long history of sexist comments and behavior have somehow not yet gotten him fired, tested the boundaries of his own misogyny again on Wednesday night. After the tenth Democratic presidential debate, the Hardball anchor grilled Elizabeth Warren about one of her lines of attack against Mike Bloomberg during the debate: that a pregnant female employee accused Bloomberg of telling her to “kill it.”

“You believe he’s lying?” Matthews asked Warren of Bloomberg’s denial.

“I believe the woman, which means he’s not telling the truth,” said Warren, who recently had to defend her own credible story of pregnancy discrimination.

“And why would he lie?” Matthews said. “Just to protect himself?”

“Yeah, and why would she lie?” Warren responded pointedly.

“I just wanna make sure you’re clear about this,” Matthews said. Right there on America’s purportedly liberal network, the anchor spoke to a 70-year-old United States senator who is running for president—and a renowned Harvard Law professor, no less—like she couldn’t possibly understand her own words, as if she were a child choosing between a snack now or dessert later.

The allegation that Matthews, a veteran journalist, was trying so hard to undermine was actually corroborated by a third party to The Washington Post earlier this month. There was no reason for him to harp on its veracity, except, perhaps, that he himself has made so many sexist comments over the years that he has a vested interest in Bloomberg being let off the hook.

Some of Matthews’s behavior has already been well-documented. Like Bloomberg, who frequently remarked “nice tits” and “I’d do her” at the office, Matthews has a pattern of making comments about women’s appearances in demeaning ways. The number of on-air incidents is long, exhausting, and creepy, including commenting to Erin Burnett, for example, “You’re a knockout…it’s all right getting bad news from you,” while telling her to move closer to the camera. Behind the scenes, one of Matthews’s former producers told The Daily Caller in 2017 that he allegedly rated his female guests on a numerical scale and would name a “hottest of the week,” like a “teenage boy.” In 1999, an assistant producer accused Matthews of sexual harassment, which CNBC, the show’s network at the time, investigated. They concluded that the comments were “inappropriate,” and Matthews received a “stern reprimand,” according to an MSNBC spokesperson.

This tendency to objectify women in his orbit has bled into his treatment of female politicians and candidates. He has repeatedly lusted over women in politics on air, including remarking in 2011 that there’s “something electric” and “very attractive” about the way former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin walks and moves, and noting in 2017 that acting attorney general Sally Yates is “attractive, obviously.” But he has reserved a particular contempt for the woman who made it closest to ascending the heights of American political power, Hillary Clinton, calling her “witchy,” “anti-male,” and “She-Devil.” The Cut obtained footage of him joking in early 2016, just before a live interview with then candidate Clinton, “where’s that Bill Cosby pill,” referring to the date-rape drug. In 2005, he openly wondered whether the troops would “take the orders” from a female president; after another interview, he pinched Clinton’s cheek; and in another, he suggested that she had only had so much political success because her husband had “messed around.” This evening anchor, in addition to everything else, has repeatedly challenged whether women are legitimate politicians or could be president at all. “I was thinking how hard it is for a woman to take on a job that’s always been held by men,” he said of Clinton in 2006. – Source: Like Warren, I Had My Own Sexist Run-In with Chris Matthews | GQ

NBC’s Brian Williams gets caught in a HUGE lie

The video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW6AbX2q0fM

The Story:

WASHINGTON — NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams admitted Wednesday he was not aboard a helicopter hit and forced down by RPG fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a false claim that has been repeated by the network for years.

Williams repeated the claim Friday during NBC’s coverage of a public tribute at a New York Rangers hockey game for a retired soldier that had provided ground security for the grounded helicopters, a game to which Williams accompanied him. In an interview with Stars and Stripes, he said he had misremembered the events and was sorry.

The admission came after crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiment’s Chinook that was hit by two rockets and small arms fire told Stars and Stripes that the NBC anchor was nowhere near that aircraft or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire. Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter after the other three had made an emergency landing, the crew members said.

There is one thing, that is an unwritten law in the world of journalism; and that is that you never, ever, lie. Brian Williams broke that law. His career is over. Say goodnight Brian! It is no wonder that the suits at that liberal outhouse are making changes, hopefully they will do the right thing and fire all of the idiot liberals over there and put real thinking Americans to work, that report the news and stop with the advocate journalism. Well, a guy can dream, right?

Leftist nutbag over at MSNBC calls Chris Kyle “a racist” who went on “Killing Sprees” in Iraq

They are not trying to hide their hatred of the American Military anymore.

The Video:

The Story Via ‘Busters:

Ayman Mohyeldin has suggested that Chris Kyle, the real “American Sniper,” was a “racist” whose military missions were nothing less than “killing sprees.”

With opinions like that, you might imagine Mohyeldin to be some unhinged bloviator from the bowels of the anti-American far left. Or, an NBC foreign correspondent [who formerly worked for Al Jazeera] who regularly reports on events in the Middle East.  Which is exactly what he is.  Ayman vented his bile on today’s Morning Joe.

Whatever one thinks of the Iraq War; whether you think that it was a Wilsonian wet dream turned a neoconservative nightmare or a legitimate war to prevent more terrorism — I think everyone, who is not some anti-American scumbag, who hates this Country and values it stands for — can agree that our Military serviceman should get the uttermost respect for the jobs that they do out on those battlefields.

Obviously, this America-hating leftist piece of dung didn’t get the memo. Here’s the complete transcript, the important parts highlighted:

AYMAN MOHYELDIN: It is a very compelling, very thought-provoking, very emotional movie.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: B-u-u-u-u-t?

MOHYELDIN: When you juxtapose it with the real Chris Kyle and what has emerged about what kind of personality he was, in his own words —

WILLIE GEIST: You’re talking about the stories when he was back home in Texas which may have not been true? Is that what you’re talking about?

MOHYELDIN: A lot of his stories when he was back home in Texas, a lot of his own personal opinions about what he was doing in Iraq, how he viewed Iraqis. Some of what people have described as his racist tendencies towards Iraqis and Muslims when he was going on some of these, you know, killing sprees in Iraq on assignment. So I think there are issues —

SCARBOROUGH: Wait, wait. Killing sprees? Chris Kyle was going on killing sprees?

MOHYELDIN: When he was involved in his — on assignments in terms of what he was doing. A lot of the description that has come out from his book and some of the terminology that he has used, people have described as racist.

. . .

GEIST: It wasn’t a commentary about the war. It wasn’t about the politics of the war. It was a character study of what this guy went through. And you don’t have to like him and all the comments about him calling Iraqis savages. He was calling the people he was shooting savages. He was calling people who he thought had IEDs, who he thought were going to kill his buddies savages. He didn’t — some people have seized on that term that he thought all Iraqis or everyone in the Middle East is a savage. That’s just not what he said. It’s not what he said. He was talking about the people he was fighting in the theater, calling them savages.

SCARBOROUGH: All right, when we come back, Ayman is going to kick around Santa Claus.

This, my friends…..this… is progressivism in 2015.

MSNBC’s Phil Griffin is full of it

As you all know, since the 2012 elections, I have been in a bit of a funk, when it comes to blogging about politics. Well, this little story here has, at least for a few moments snapped me out of that funk. In other words, put your seatbelts on; because I am about to let it rip!

MSNBC’s Phil Griffin is so full of crap, that it literally should be oozing out of his ears! Check out what this douche canoe said in an interview with the New Yorker: (H/T HotAir.com)

In his office Griffin insists: “I think we’ve never had an ideology. An ideology is a single thought across all programs. We’ve never had that.” As evidence, he mentions the spirited on-air debates in 2010, pro and con, concerning whether the Bush tax cuts should be allowed to expire. “Obviously I hire people who fit the sensibility,” Griffin says. “We do stay true to facts. You have to build your argument. That’s why I call it a sensibility.” …

As for Fox News, “I think they do have an ideology,” Griffin says, “because every Republican who’s in trouble goes on that network to be taken care of…They’re owned by News Corp., which is Rupert Murdoch. Roger Ailes runs it, and he comes out of the Republican Party.” Griffin adds: “That’s fine. They’ve done an incredible job over there. They’ve been very successful. They drive a lot of the conversation.”

They must pay that man a whole bunch of money to sit there and lie like that with a straight face. Here is the straight truth about that they are biased, a good deal and they proved it in 2008 and in 2012. I know this for a fact; because I used to watch that network, back when it had a shred of credibility.

As most people know, that read this blog on a regular basis; I was not always a Paleoconservative. I, at one time, was a left-of-center and pretty much a Democratic Party voter — albeit a very skeptical one. I voted for Gore in 2000, I voted for John  Kerry in 2004. My Dad is a retired general motors employee and a card-carrying member of the UAW. My family basically would be considered Roosevelt/Truman/Kennedy Democrats. Although my Mother did vote for Reagan the first time in 1980.

After a year of basically writing as a left of center, and admittedly carrying water for the Anti-Bush movement on my blog called the Populist; I really began to see that the Democratic Party was, quite frankly, losing it’s mind. The whole anti-Bush movement was becoming a parody of itself and quite frankly, accomplishing nothing at all.

Furthermore, I began to see in 2008 that MSNBC, a network that I watched regularly, go straight into the tank for Barack Obama, when he was running for President. In fact, this became such an issue for me, that it got to the point where I could not stand watching the network any longer.  This was right around the time of Keith Olbermann’s infamous “Shut the hell up!” moment.

My questions for Phil Griffin are these:

  1. If your network is not following a political agenda, why did they cancel Tucker Carlson’s show?
  2. If your network is not following some sort of a political agenda, why did you sack Keith Olbermann for continuing to pursue in getting the Iraq War stopped and for criticizing the Obama Administration’s continuing of Bush polices that do trample on civil rights?
  3. If your network is not pursuing a political agenda, why did Pat Buchanan get sacked from your network as a commentator?
  4. If your network is not pursuing a political agenda, why is there not a Conservative with a show on MSNBC?

I have a shiny dollar bill that says that Mr. Griffin cannot and will not answer these questions.

The truth is that after Tim Russert died, MSNBC went from a mildly passive left of center stance to an “All-in” proactive, progressive stance with little or no objectivity at all. Anyone who believes anything other than this, is either an idiot or wildly misinformed. I ought to know, I used to watch that silly network.

Snort Worthy: MSNBC President Wants ‘Investigation’ Into Fox News’ ‘Impossible’ Ratings

Um, Phil? It’s because you and your network suck. Progressivism is just not popular anymore. You know that President that you and your network went into the tank for? He failed, badly. So, I would suppose that the viewers or as Bill O’Reilly calls them — the folks — stopped trusting your silly network.

So, man up and admit your defeat.

The Story:

Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC, says there’s something fishy about Tuesday’s ratings for the Fox News Channel, which were up significantly from a day earlier when Fox News debuted its new schedule. And he wants an investigation.

MSNBC’s ‘Up Late With Alec Baldwin’ Debuts With Policy Discussions in a Diner

“Monday we had a really good day in the key demographic. On the night that Fox News debuted their three shows, we either tied or beat them in those hours,” Griffin said at a briefing, according to TVNewser.

“Tuesday — you guys should be doing some investigations; I have never seen it in all my years of cable — same overnight, same everything. And they doubled their ratings in a day? It is impossible.” Griffin continued, “I have never seen it. They did election-night numbers in the demo Tuesday.”

It is simply because MSNBC simply does not tell the truth anymore

It is simply the truth: MSNBC went into the tank for President Barack Obama during the election and now they are trying to defend the undefendable.

The story:

MSNBC got some very tough ratings news on Wednesday.

Another month of big crime and disaster news saw the network struggle to keep up with rivals CNN, HLN and Fox News. MSNBC was presumably expecting some dropoff from its 2012 numbers, since that was an election year, but it still landed in fourth place behind the other channels, a victim of HLN’s Jodi Arias-fueled surge and of President Obama’s scandal-ridden, defensive month. Overall, MSNBC saw its lowest total day viewer numbers since 2007, and its lowest prime time numbers since 2009.

MSNBC’s prime time numbers were down across the board. Rachel Maddow delivered what the Hollywood Reporter said were her lowest total viewing figures in her show’s history, and she even fell behind timeslot rival Piers Morgan—a very rare victory for the CNN host. Chris Hayes also delivered sharply lower ratings than the man he replaced, Ed Schultz, did in 2012. Both of them, along with hosts from Chris Matthews to Al Sharpton to Martin Bashir, landed in fourth place in their timeslots—a marked change from their normal second-place status. (“Morning Joe” did manage to come in second in its slot in total viewers.)

via MSNBC Lands In Fourth Place In May; Maddow Hits Ratings Lows.

Maybe if MSNBC tried telling the truth and stopped covering for the Obama Administration. maybe, just maybe their ratings might come back —- maybe.

UPDATED – It’s official: The Obama Administration is in deep trouble and I am done defending them

My friends, I was very, very wrong and for that, I am terribly sorry. 🙁

I said that I believed that the entire Benghazi, Libya debacle was over-hyped by the Republicans; and I still believe that, to a point.

However, there are many things that have come up since then, which I simply cannot defend.

They are:

  1. The IRS targeting Jewish groups.  – I mean, honestly, what the hell were the IRS and Obama’s people thinking when they let this one happen?
  2. IRS targeting Conservative groups in Washington and Elsewhere. — Did they not know that this would be exposed?
  3. DOJ going after the AP – This is borderline Watergate, so says a watergate player. — Again, what the hell were these people thinking?

My friends, the “Giving the benefit of the doubt” of the President and his Administration by this writer and blogger are over. There is no doubt in my mind that the Obama administration; much like the Administration of George W. Bush, became consumed with a lust for power and abused and exploited the office of President of the United States and the instruments of Governmental office for political purposes.

I leave you with two videos:

Update: Better clip via The American Spectator:

The Democrats have screwed themselves out of ever winning an election; for like oh, maybe the next 2 major election cycles. This is the sad part, Obama and his Administration promised Americans that he would be a clean break from the policies and practices of President George W. Bush and his Administration and sadly, it turns out that Obama and his Administration are just as bad; if not even worse.   As I wrote before, it is sad ending to a Presidency that offered so much to give; but ended up delivering little or nothing at all, in the realm of change.

It is going to be a long, hot, nasty, political summer for America, Americans, Black Liberal Americans and for Washington D.C.. I just hope that cool heads prevail. But, I really do fear the worst in yet to come.
