I’m done with Bruce Gerencser

I tried being civil to Bruce Gerencser and now that seems to have been a tragic mistake.

I happened to stop in over at Bruce’s blog and added a comment to a posting over there.

What followed was rather shocking; considering how I approached Bruce and his departure from the Faith. I even defended him from an attack by other Fundamentalists. Not once did I ever, never, attack him personally for leaving the faith, ever! I showed more grace to that man, than anyone else ever would, especially among the Fundamentalist Christian circles.

Well, it appears that what I showed to that man meant absolutely nothing at all. As he sat there and allowed his commenters to attack me; and never lifted a finger to stop it at all.

I guess the apostle Paul was not joking when he wrote this:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. — (2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV)

The Lord’s grace is unlimited; mine is not. So, seeing that Mr. Gerencser is not interested in being a man; and stopping an attack on his blog, I have decided to not grace that site with my presence any longer. I feel bad that he was used and abused in the IFB circles; and that he used that as an excuse to turn his back on the Lord. But, I do not have to be treated like that; not at all.

Perhaps my taking a non-judgemental stance towards him was a mistake; not one I will never make again — not in this lifetime. To be quite honest, I do not believe that the man was even truly saved in the first place. Bruce might have said a prayer; but there was no true heart conversion. If there was, he would still be among the believers. Truth is, he said a prayer, and was trained and conditioned in the ways of the Church. However, when the heat was turned up, he grew frustrated and looked for an excuse to leave; and the books he read gave him his excuse. This happens quite a bit in Christianity, not only in IFB circles, but in Christianity in general. People that do this are not grounded in their Faith at all.

Just for the record, I am not angry at Bruce or his so-called blog friends. I am more disappointed than anything else. I really hope that one day, that he wakes up and realizes what he just did here to me. However, I doubt that will happen. Bruce seems quite set in his new way.

I will continue to pray for him; Bruce says it won’t do any good. However, I have faith in God. (unlike him…)

Update: I went back and looked; and sure enough, Bruce basically has revealed his true colors towards believers. I thought he was an honorable man; I was wrong.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. – (Revelation 20:11-15 KJV)

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. UPDATED – Anyone know what’s going on with Bruce Gerencser?

His blog is down and his e-mail addresses are bouncing.

Update: I just thought I would let everyone know. I did a lookup for Bruce in his hometown of Ohio. I did find a number for him, I called and left a message for what was hopefully Bruce’s number. I do suspect that one of these happened:

His blog was possibly hacked and his host could not restore it; and he decided to pack it in because of that.
Bruce does still have family within the IFB or Independent Fundamental Baptist circles. It is totally possibly that Bruce got some negative pushback from family or from someone in the IFB movement and he decided it was not worth going to war with them over it.

Either way, it kind of saddens me that Bruce left again; and I do hope he comes back. If he blog traffic is not terribly heavy, I would be willing to host his site here, as an sub off of my server here. Only thing I would ask for is a little help with the hosting. There would be no interference whatsoever with his blog. I would just help set it back up for him.

MASSIVE HIGH UPDATE AND PLEASE EVERYONE READ THIS! – I received a phone call from a gentleman down in Ohio, near Columbus. It appears that the number that happens to be listed on the Internet for Bruce, is not Bruce’s at all and has not been his for a very long time. So, please DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER LOOKING FOR BRUCE, BECAUSE IT DOES NOT BELONG TO HIM AT ALL!

Memo to all Christians, Fundamentalist and otherwise: Leave Bruce Gerencser alone!

You know, I do not get into the affairs of other bloggers much; but with this situation, I will make a huge exception.

Bruce Gerencser is a former Fundamental Baptist Christian and Pastor, and he runs the blog, The Way Forward. He is now a full-blown atheist and you know what? That happens to be his right as an American Citizen.

So, you can imagine my horror to see this bunch of tripe on his blog, written by supposed Christian of some sort:

What an ungrateful and stupid dog you are,ex-false prophet! How can you be so ungrateful to God who made you,although you are a disgusting, ugly, fat,stupid gluttunous creature, and how dare you speak against Him..at least be thankful for your existence, dog!

I do not know who sent this to Bruce, nor do I quite frankly give a rat’s derriere. However, I am going to say this to the person who left it, if he happens to come by here. I do not know which Jesus Christ that you serve, but it is quite obvious that you DO NOT serve the same one as me and all the Christians that I happen to know.

Now, I am going to quote some Bible, and to the atheists that see this; please, I am not trying to insult you all; I am making a point, so just read and learn. Bruce knows this stuff too; so, this is just review for him.

First off, Jesus said the following himself, it was recorded twice:

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (Matthew 12:34-37 KJV)

I underlined those words for a very good reason. Mainly, because I happen to believe them and they apply in this situation.

Second spot these words of Jesus were recorded:

For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (Luke 6:43-45 KJV)

So, you see; this person who left this message; they do not have heart of Christ. But of evil.

More Bible, if you do not mind:

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (Ephesians 4:29 KJV)

and…

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. (Ephesians 5:3-4 KJV)

There are many more that I could quote; but because I do not want this posting to go on and on, I will not quote anymore. My point is this: Just leave Bruce alone! It is not our job to try and bring Mr.Gerencser back into the fold, if you will. That is the job of the Lord. Does he need prayer? Yes, plenty of it. However, leaving idiotic, filthy messages like this, on his blog or to him in email, will do nothing to make that happen.

Not only that, but do you really honestly believe that you are doing anything for the cause of Christ or for the cause of winning someone like Bruce back into the fold? Let me give you a freakin’ clue:

NO, YOU’RE NOT!

So, please, let Bruce be, let him find his path. If he is truly saved, he is sealed to the day of judgement; whether he chooses to believe that…..or not.
