Larry Sinclair holds Press Conference and gets arrested

Man, go to bed early and all kinds of stuff comes up. WOW!

It seems that Larry Sinclair, the guy who is, in fact, a convicted criminal, who has made some pretty wild and quite unbelievable accusations against Obama. was arrested yesterday after a circus-like press conference yesterday.

Reason Magazine
was there and reports:

How did Sinclair hold up? Rather terribly. He started with a lengthy statement that admitted most (not all) of his crimes and dispatched Sibley to run around the room with a microphone. As Seth Colter Walls recounts, most of the questions were legalistic and (somewhat) credulous. Sinclair was asked who funded the event (donors, over the internet), how he made his living (he’s on disability), and whether Obama was “well hung” (I’m not going to dignify his answer here). The only new “evidence” he presented was the name of a limo driver and the bar where he claimed to have met Obama (who, in Sinclair’s story, used his real name and job title as he rendevouzed with a cruising criminal he’d never met before).

It also seems that the ending of the Press Conference didn’t not go so well either:

“Thank you.” Sinclair moved on and Sibley refused to let me ask another question. Why didn’t I wait until the end of the press conference and rush up to the accuser? The second Sinclair stopped taking questions, he fled the room and reporters were denied access to anyone but Sibley. I was a little disappointed until I heard the reason. Larry Sinclair was arrested after the press conference and is being held by the Washington, D.C. metropolitan police. He’s been charged as a fugitive from justice; one of his warrants can be seen here.

So much for making a big impression of the Main Stream Media. Anyhow, I predict that this will be yesterdays news by later today. Although, it did kind of strike me as quite funny that the Police would show up and have the man arrested, Although, from what I read, a couple of talk show jocks were behind that.

I also noticed something else, AmericaBlog Reports:

In his post about Larry Sinclair, the now-jailed (again) guy spreading bizarre rumors about Obama, Ben Smith notes the following:

At the Press Club, Avi also ran into Will Bower, a sometimes-Huffington Post blogger who founded “Party Unity, My Ass” – a group for die-hard Clinton supporters that are now backing McCain – and was invited by the McCain campaign last weekend to meet with the presumptive Republican nominee, and called Sinclair’s story “worth exploring.”

And from Ben’s post 4 days ago, we confirm that Will Bower was in fact invited, and did attend, a private meeting with McCain last weekend. Anyone else find it interesting that McCain is wooing a guy who is telling the media that Sinclair’s smears are “worth exploring”? I’d love to know what the McCain campaign’s involvement is here, whether they talked to Bower about this story, whether Bower told them he was going to the press conference, whether they’re now prepared to reject and denounce Bower for trying to push this story? It’s just a bit sleazy finding John McCain’s name mixed up in all of this.

Now that would be some news, McCain springs the guy out and lets him tell his story to the McCain supporters. Although, I highly and seriously doubt that McCain’s people would even touch this story or this guy. Because if he is largely discredited, and McCain used this, it would blow up in his face. Hell, even Huckabee even said if the G.O.P. tried to demonize Obama that they would pay for it dearly.

Like I said, this rather silly story will be yesterday’s news by noon today.

Muslims Barred from Picture at Detroit Obama Event

The Politico reports:

Two Muslim women at Barack Obama’s rally in Detroit on Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women’s headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.

The campaign has apologized to the women, both Obama supporters who said they felt betrayed by their treatment at the rally.

Of course, the Terrorist supporting CAIR issued their statement:

“Although we welcome the Obama campaign’s apology, we are extremely concerned about the level of Islamophobia in our society that would prompt other minorities to view Muslim supporters as potential liabilities. We hope that Senator Obama will personally apologize to the two women and that he decries the current Islamophobic climate in our nation that is not only attacking him but has even jaded some within his own campaign.”

You mean The United States Armed Forces hasn’t bombed their offices yet? A Pity.

Seriously people, what further proof do we need that this man isn’t ready to be president.

Update: Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this or not, But if John McCain’s staffers had pulled something like this, the level of outrage would be deafening, and He would have been shamed out of the race. But when Barry’s people does it, it is no big deal and will be yesterday’s news by tomorrow.

Is this Barack Obama's Idea of Hope and Change and New Politics?

(H/T to WorldNetDaily)

Senator Barack Obama claims to be the Senator of Hope and Change, and of New Politics.

If this is the case, then what the heck do you call this? Click here, Please.

I mean, I can see people not liking the site, But threats? Foul Language? Why can’t Obama supporters handle criticism of their so-called “messiah?”

I mean, what else do we need to see, to finally figure out, that this man is nothing more than some sleazy Chicago politician?

At this point, he could be promising a million bucks for every US Citizen, I still wouldn’t vote for him. Not because he is black, but because he’s a fake, offering false hope, and pipe dreams, idealism and smoke and mirrors. All the while taking your money and laughing behind your back.

If that Bastard gets elected, I fear the direction that this country will take. He must be defeated. There is no more question about, he must be defeated at ALL costs.

About all this Obama/McCain back and forth….

I don’t expect me to comment on all that crap, at least not too often.

The reason is, because sheer stupidity of it all, is about deafening.

When Obama comes out with some specifics of HOW exactly he is going to change this country from this stiff veer that it is taking off this Bush-made cliff, then I might have something positive to say about him, but all I ever hear is vagueness, idealism, and smoke and mirrors.

I don’t want to be told to “Just go to Obama’s Website”, I want to hear it out of HIS mouth, of how HE intends to change this country, I want to hear specifics. Not just fluffy speeches, but cold, hard, facts.

Until I hear this, he’s nothing more, to me, than just some inexperienced, empty suit, Idealist politician.

Barack and Hillary together again?

That’s what they’re saying….

Quote from the New York Daily News:

Hillary Clinton will join Barack Obama for a joint appearance in Washington next week to persuade her donors to begin giving to the Democrats’ nominee, the Daily News has learned.

It’s the first known plan to bring together the victor and vanquished from the Democrat primary race and put their pledges of unity for the fall campaign into action.

Jonathan Mantz, Clinton’s national finance director, sent top Clinton fundraisers an e-mail today inviting them to the event on June 26.

“As we move forward, we invite you to join us for a National Finance Committee meeting with both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on Thursday, June 26th in Washington, D.C., to discuss how we can work together to support Barack Obama and the Democratic Party,” Mantz wrote.

“Hillary ran for President because she wants to put this country on the right track,” Mantz wrote. “She continues to fight and stand strong for our values and priorities and will do everything she can to unify the party and to elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States.”

I just wonder how much Racism, fear mongering and Republican style attacks will be used at this little get together? I wonder if Hillary will whine publicly about how she was entitled to the Presidency, because she was a woman?

It is to wonder….

Racist Button being sold at the Texas G.O.P Convention

ObamaPresident_WhiteHouse_TXGOPConvention

John over at AmericaBlog News has more:

Expect the Republican party to do absolutely nothing about the racists in its own midst. The national Republican party in Washington has contacts all the time with its state parties. I’m sure there’s money involved, and you’d better believe that when John McCain visits the states, he meets with local party officials. At what point do we hold John McCain responsible for fraternizing with racists? You don’t see John McCain ever saying that he’s no longer going to meet with, fundraise with, any state parties that promote or tolerate racism (like the folks in NC and TN). All McCain and that national party does is say "gosh, that’s so bad, stop that now." McCain and the GOP have the power to punish the racists in their midst. So when will they? Oh, and for all of you in the media who will of course say that this has nothing to do with the GOP: What would you say if racist pins were being handed out at the Democratic National Convention?

Centrist Justin over at Donklephant, weighs in on this:

Many things have been labelled as “racist” in this campaign season, and most of them don’t come anywhere close to qualifying.

However, this button is absolutely, 100% out of line, and I hope that once the state GOPers find out about it, they’ll demand this vendor leaves. I mean, this is a convention where Mike Huckabee was speaking. I wouldn’t imagine he’d be pleased to find out that he could be associated with something this vile.

Count me in as someone that thinks that this is totally out of line. I mean, you don’t like Obama, nail him on his positions and his Politics, not on his skin color.

Obama grabs Former Clinton staffer, pisses off some Hillary supporters…

Obama appeared here in Detroit tonight. No, I did not go. I did watch it on the Internet. It was the same ol’ stump speech, with all it’s idealism and lofty promises, with zero substance as to how he plans to do all these things, he says he will do. Which comes of no surprise to me at all, we are talking about Democrats here. One thing to realize, Hitler made promises too.

In other news, A former Hillary staffer was hired by Obama’s campaign, some are calling this a big time slam to Hillary. I hold off on calling it that. The chick was looking for a job, I say, if she can do it, let her. I doubt she will be doing senior staff duties.

Things are changing in Iraq

I apologize for the stoppage of Blogging. But the Tim Russert story kind of jarred me quite a bit. in fact, I had to turn the TV to CNN, I just couldn’t not bear watching the stuff at MSNBC anymore. (Yeah, I know, I fired up John Cole for what he said, there’s a difference between me saying I had to change the channel, and taking a nasty swipe at a dead man.)

However, the world, the news, and life does go on, while I will miss Tim Russert’s show and his style of punditry, I must move on….

It seems that things are changing in Iraq.

The Report from the Washington Post:

The Bush administration’s Iraq policy suffered two major setbacks Friday when Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki publicly rejected key U.S. terms for an ongoing military presence and anti-American Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr called for a new militia offensive against U.S. forces.

During a visit to Jordan, Maliki said negotiations over initial U.S. proposals for bilateral political and military agreements had "reached a dead end." While he said talks would continue, his comments fueled doubts that the pacts could be reached this year, before the Dec. 31 expiration of a United Nations mandate sanctioning the U.S. role in Iraq.

The moves by two of Iraq’s most powerful Shiite leaders underscore how the presence of U.S. troops has become a central issue for Iraqi politicians as they position themselves for provincial elections later this year. Iraqis across the political spectrum have grown intolerant of the U.S. presence, but the dominant Shiite parties — including Maliki’s Dawa party — are especially fearful of an electoral challenge from new, grass-roots groups.

CNN’s Michael Ware, who is in Iraq offers this interesting perspective:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo54NhiyQig&hl=en]

If Ware is even correct and these talks continue to stall, I look for Bush to just pull our troops out and let Iraq go at it alone. I just do not think that Bush is going to dump the Iraq War into the laps of the Democrats. I just do not think that he wants that on his legacy. I could be wrong, but if this is case, I got a sneaking suspicion you will see a unilateral withdrawal of our troops out of Iraq, before Bush leaves office.

So much for Party Unity in Florida….

Yikes! This isn’t good, at all…

Quote:

So much for party unity: As Florida Dems prepare for Saturday’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner aimed at bringing the party "together once and for all," a spat over the Obama campaign’s decision to replace some already-designated Florida delegates with Obama backers has intensified.

And how. DNC member Jon Ausman late Thursday e-mailed Dems (and reporters) choice sections of what he says were e-mails from Obama’s Florida finance chair Kirk Wagar — in which Wagar curses Ausman out and criticizes Sen. Bill Nelson and party director Leonard Joseph.

The highlights: "You (Jon Ausman) f&^%ed us. We are dealing with it. You need to accept the fact that you f*&^ed us."

And of Nelson: "I am getting very sick of (Senator) Nelson making a bad situation worse."

Said Ausman to Wagar: "We are at a point in time when we need to heal and come together. Help me understand how these messages, which you have sent to me in writing, help Senator Obama’s campaign."

Wagar sent out an e-mail shortly after, apologizing for the profanity, but suggesting Ausman had used "out of context snippets from some ongoing and sometimes heated arguments we have had over the course of this campaign.

"I apologize for the profanity that you were subjected to," he said in the e-mail. "It is a vice of mine that I try to minimize but seems to rear it’s head with more frequency when I deal with Jon."

Of Nelson and Joseph, Wagar said he disagreed with them on seating the delegates, but "did not malign them in private nor in the excerpts Jon blasted out.  I have worked with Leonard for years, long before he came to Florida, and I have worked very hard for and with Senator Nelson. On this issue we disagreed and despite Jon’s effort to twist it into something more, it isn’t."Dems delegate turns ugly (Via Naked Politics)

Hope! Change! Or I’ll kick your ass! *hehe*
