Following up on my shame

In a previous missive, I wrote the following:

For years, since leaving the Democratic Party as a voter and supporter, I have tried my very best to maintain an image of optimism, that somehow America is the still the greatest Nation on planet Earth and that somehow, no matter what the progressive Democrats did, that somehow this Nation would still be able to overcome. I now realize that this was nothing more than foolish folly on my part.

After going back and rereading that, and seeing the reactions of some of my readers and looking at the darkness on my blog. I realized two things; one, I allowed myself to fall into the trap of cynicism and defeatism. Two, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me. I apologize to my readers for allowing that to happen.

My friends, I still love this Country and I still believe that the idea of a free Republic is still a very good idea and one that has served this Country well since its founding. However, let me be very clear; I am extremely disappointed in the Republican and Democratic Parties in their handling of this fiscal cliff. Both of these parties are using this cliff for political gain and we the American people are going to suffer bitterly for it.

The best idea that the Republicans have at this moment is, just walk away and let the Democrats have their mess. The Democrats best idea is to allow the fiscal cliff to happen, so that they can blame the Republicans. My friends, this is not in the best interest of America and its people; this is nothing more than political posturing and it is doing nothing for anyone, but the political players themselves.

What is the solution? My friends, at this point, outside of prayer for our Nation; there is no real quick solution. We are a civilized society here in America and we settle our differences, not with guns, violence and mayhem; that is idiotic anarchy —- we settle them at the ballot box. The Democrats may have won this round, but 2014 is coming and it will be when the America people will be able to vote those out, who acted in their self-interests and not in the interests of the American people.

In conclusion: I have brought back the earlier blog theme. Although, I believe I will forgo the American Nationalist look and keep it more basic this time. I will continue to write for love of Country, God and American values. I will try to keep my emotions in check and not allow myself to be drawn into the darkness that is cynicism and fatalism.

Again, I thank of you who e-mailed me and expressed your genuine concerns that I might have fallen into depression and given up. I will never give up on freedom, it is something that will drive me for the rest of my days; if only to undue some of the idiocy and misdeeds of my youth.

Freedom’s best days are ahead and I am here for the duration.

I think I might have spooked him

I read with mild interest that someone who left a comment on my blog two days ago, blog went dark.

Many people are saying it was law enforcement related. Well, it could have bend that —- or it could have been related to this:

When Neil left his comment on my blog. I got his IP address. It trace-routed to Seattle, Washington. I emailed him a message with the titled “Seattle Washington eh?” and said in the message, “I hope your not planning on swatting me, like you did Patrick Frey.”

Maybe I spooked the guy or something. •shrug•

It just seems pretty odd that he disappeared after I did all that. Maybe he felt the walls closing in.

Detroit: Swirling the drain

Hey, um, America? Want to see what you will look like in four years? Look here:

Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Detroit’s bond rating today deeper into junk status, citing uncertainty after the repeal of Michigan’s emergency manager law and a rising risk of municipal bankruptcy or default in the next 12-24 months.

Moody’s said Detroit’s inability to enact reforms meant to stabilize its finances was complicated by uncertainty after state voters repealed Michigan’s emergency manager law, Public Act 4, on Nov. 6, weakening state oversight of the city’s finances.

The ratings firm noted Detroit’s “precariously narrow cash position,” with Mayor Dave Bing’s administration warning that it will have to put potentially thousands of city employees on furlough Jan. 1 to avoid running $5 million short on cash to meet payroll.

The city’s program management director, William (Kriss) Andrews, has said Detroit is not at risk of missing debt payments, and he believes the city will be able to manage the cash crisis with furloughs and other cuts yet unidentified.

Sad thing, but this is what happens, when progressives run a city into the ground.

Nobody would have voted for him anyhow

I found this mildly amusing:

Were I to run for the Senate, it would be a terribly nasty campaign. It’d actually be really awesome, but it’d be really nasty. I have a seven year old, a soon to be four year old, and a wife who does not like being anywhere near a stage. I’m not putting my family through that when the best outcome would mean a sizable pay cut and being away from my kids and wife all the time huddled in a pit of vipers often surrounded by too many who viewed me as a useful instrument to their own advancement.

I appreciate all the support. I really do. In the past week I’ve learned who real friends are and are not. It has been eye opening. I had been all along very, very dismissive of running. But given the efforts of several and the financial pledges of support, I figured I should actually take the time to seriously and prayerfully consider it out of respect for those who asked and offered to help.

That is slander blogger Erick Erickson cutting and running from a Senate bid. The real translation of the above is this:

Because I am a complete schmuck, and a bit of an self-absorbed a-hole, nobody would vote for me anyhow. So, I am not going to waste my time and anyone else’s money. (Because I really do not have any of my own, which is why Eagle Publishing owns this site.) So, I will just continue being this overrated schmuck and partisan hack.

End of translation.

Erick Erickson is just angry because he did not get any of the money.

Sorry to say it, but  Erick Erickson sounds like a whiny liberal in this piece here:

If money is the root of all evil, for the Republican Party evil is located on the fifth floor of 66 Canal Center Plaza, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Strip away the candidate and coalition and it is on the fifth floor of 66 Canal Center Plaza where the seeds of Mitt Romney’s ruin and the RNC’s get out the vote (GOTV) effort collapsed — bled to death by charlatan consultants making millions off the party, its donors, and the grassroots.

66 Canal Center Plaza is also why Jeff Larson, the Chief of Staff of the Republican National Committee, should not be put in charge of the autopsy of the GOP’s defeat. Multiple sources confirm to me that RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has already put Larson in charge of the so called autopsy.

This is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. The fifth floor of 66 Canal Center Plaza reveals a tangled web of incestuous relationships among Republican consultants who have made millions all while the GOP went down the tubes. Here the top party consultants waged war with conservative activists and here they waged war with the Democrats. On both fronts, they raked in millions along the way with a more fractured, minority party in their wake. And they show no signs of recognizing just how much a part of the problem they are.

Since when is capitalism evil? When you don’t get any of the money, that’s when!  Erick Erickson is a slander blogger, who slandered me and few other people in the past and rather unfairly, I might add. Mr. Erickson is just ticked off, because nobody called him during the 2008 or 2012 election to work on their campaigns. This is why this little slander piece was written.

Also too, Erick Erickson is a blogger, who started RedState in his basement and when he could not afford the huge hosting bill anymore, he called on Eagle Publishing for a bailout, and they rescued his “too big to fail” blogging service. Some Conservative eh? 🙄

End of discussion.

Are Bill Schmalfeldt, Neal Rauhauser and Brett Kimberlin working as informants for the FBI?

Please note: This entire posting is simple conjecture and I have no real inside baseball information at all. I simply am wondering aloud about what is really going on. I have no proof at all; but, I do have plenty of suspicions.

I ask this question because of the following events that have taken place:

First of all, Aaron Walker lost his lawsuit against Brett Kimberlin. The good news is, that is he appealing the ruling and hopefully he will win it. Which makes me wonder, was the judge ordered to dismiss the lawsuit, because of an ongoing FBI sting, as Kimberlin being an informant?

Second of all this story here, involving a man and woman from Texas; which has more twists and turns than a Georgia back road.  You really have to follow that story, least you get more confused than a pollack Jew in a Hindu temple. (Apologies in advance to my Jewish readers; but it really, really is that confusing!  I am about as sharp of a tack as they come in these parts — and it even confuses me!— Some might disagree with that sharp tack bit, but I do not pay them dummies no attention. 😀 ) What really made me wonder about this, is this little comment here, by  a commenter named “jwallin” over at Robert Stacy McCain’s blog, who by the way reappeared this morning after going AWOL yesterday and giving everyone a heart attack! Anyhow, here’s the comment:

I’m beginning to wonder if Neal AND Brett are both FBI informants acting as agent provocateurs.

And that doesn’t get them off the hook or anything but it does give an insight to why they believe they can make false accusations, go ballistic over the least little thing, make all kinds of false accusations and lie in court and expect to get away with it. (because they have so far.)

The FBI is not above using people and placing operators (not actual agents per se) in positions to supply the means and even the motive for others to commit unlawful acts. (see the poor sap that tried to blow up the NY Federal Reserve Bank in Oct.)

They also use guys like that as spreaders of disinformation and gatherers of information. They particularly like to use those who have criminal, prison/shady pasts as they can be pressured into cooperation and have the bonafides to appear to be what they may be pretending to be. (that’s if anyone bothers to check)

They also use them to spread dissension amongst collaborators and other informal and clandestine communities.

Sound like Rauhauser? Sound like Kimberlin?

Not saying they’re active, just saying they may have been used and may be used again. And it does fit some of the odd things and perceptions they both have of how little they concern themselves with being arrested or investigated.

Things that make you go Hmmmmm.

I was over here lying in the bed, waiting for the soup that Mom was making for supper, when I read this. This is when it hit me; “what if they are doing that?” It would not shock me one iota. The Conservative blogosphere, the Tea Party, the Republicans on the hill — all have been a huge thorn in the side of the President. Who is to say that the President did not order an big time, super secret investigation and take down of the right wing blogosphere?

Again, I do not have any inside baseball information on this at all. I simply am, as the southern folk would call it, “A wonderin'” about this all. I mean, the Government has done dishonest stuff like this before. Remember Ruby Ridge? Remember the Waco Stand Off? Remember Elohim City? Remember Oklahoma City?  The United States Government has not always been forthright in their dealings and with the actions of the FBI. Like this man here, who is one of the people, that I listed in the title of this blog posting; who is an informant, I believe — like he says: I am an independent journalist, and I am seeking answers. I happen to believe that theory about these three men. However, I would like dig for the real truth as to what is really going on here. I simply do not buy the story that is being floated about these three people. Something more is going on and I want to get to the bottom of it.

If anyone that reads this, who happens to work for the FBI, and happens to know the truth. Please, do not hesitate to email me and tell me the truth. I will protect your identity and I will publish what you tell me to publish.

There are facts in this story, that the public needs to know about and that the corporate owned and controlled media will not cover, unless they are forced to. We bloggers in the uncontrolled, independent media world are the ones who have been digging these stories up and fleshing them out. We need to get back to doing that and stop with the bickering among ourselves. This is what our political enemies want, they want us to bicker among one another; so that we become less effective. We have to overcome that; and get to the bottom of what is really going on.

We have a Republic to save, we have liberty to protect, and we have a out of control Government that needs to be restrained. We must do our part.

Update: Oh, heck, I’ll toss in the obligatory video, it’s old school 1990’s stuff. But it makes the point:

They’d better quit with the hope and do something

Because if this here is any indication, we’re screwed.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Fears of going over the fiscal cliff were showing signs of receding on Wednesday, as both Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama indicated optimism about reaching a deal and U.S. stock markets rose.

In comments early Wednesday morning, Boehner said he was “optimistic that we can continue to work together to avert this crisis, and sooner rather than later.” The comments helped send U.S. stock markets higher, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI:DJIA)   lately up about 78 points and the S&P 500 up 6 points. See Market Snapshot.

Obama, speaking at the White House, said he’s hopeful about striking a deal before Christmas.

“Our ultimate goal is an agreement that gets our long-term deficit under control in a way that is fair and balanced,” Obama said. “And I believe that both parties can agree on a framework that does that in the coming weeks.” Read more MarketWatch fiscal cliff coverage.

In a sign of intensifying negotiations, the Treasury said that Secretary Tim Geithner will hold talks on Thursday separately with Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, Boehner, and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. White House legislative director Rob Nabors will also participate.

Geithner will “continue discussing the actions we need to take to keep our economy growing and find a balance approach to reduce our deficit,” a Treasury statement said.

Chief among the sticking points: how to deal with competing positions on raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Obama on Wednesday again urged Congress to pass a bill extending tax breaks for all but the wealthiest 2% of Americans. Republicans insist that lower rates continue for all earners.

via Boehner, Obama hopeful on fiscal cliff deal – MarketWatch.

A bit less, “Well, I hope we can.” and more of getting down to business and getting it done, would be very nice. Of course, the Obama Administration’s more interested in killing business and capitalism; and maybe even bringing down our capitalistic system, than he is saving the Country.

I’m just saying.

BP should tell the USA, “Hasta la vista!”

Because this is nothing more than this Presidential Administration trying to run this oil company out of business:

WASHINGTON — Government officials have temporarily banned BP from new federal contracts because of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon blowout and oil spill that killed 11 workers and polluted hundreds of miles of Gulf of Mexico shoreline.

The Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that it was taking the action because of BP’s “lack of business integrity” demonstrated by the accident and the company’s inability to curb the flow of oil into the gulf. BP pleaded guilty earlier this month to federal criminal charges arising from the disaster and agreed to pay $4.5 billion, including $1.26 billion in criminal penalties.

The suspension will be effective “until the company can provide sufficient evidence to E.P.A. demonstrating that it meets federal business standards,” the agency said in a statement. The action does not affect the company’s existing federal contracts.

BP had no immediate comment on the announcement.

The British oil company is one of the American government’s largest contractors, 45th with $1.47 billion in federal business in 2011, according to a ranking compiled by the General Services Administration. The company’s biggest customer is the United States Department of Defense, to which it provides more than $1 billion a year in fuel.

via United States Temporarily Suspends BP From New Contracts – NYTimes.com.

If I were BP oil, I would tell the EPA and the Obama Administration, “When your reign of terror is over, we will come back. Until then, we are out of here.”

Because it is quite obvious to this writer that the Obama Administration trying to break this oil company’s back or force them to leave the Country. Therefore, I would give them what they wanted and I would end the North American Operations of BP and sell off all the American company assets to the highest bidder and get out of the American oil business until the end of Obama’s term.

If Obama is that desperate to see the American oil industry handed over to his Arab friends, than I would allow that to happen; so that Americans can see just what kind of person that he really is. Which is someone who cares about American workers and America itself, as he does about his own socks.

Want to know why Republicans cannot win elections?

I am going to forewarn you, this posting here is not something that you would normally read at a blog like mine. This blog never was about partisanship. As you know, it is called “Thinking Americanist” and it is called that for a very good reason. Because I do not happen to tow the so-called “part line” and I do not participate in the normal echo chamber of either side in the blogosphere. I speak the truth and if it angers either side, that is just too bad.

You want to know why the Republican Party is having so much trouble winning elections? It is because of mind-numbingly stupid stuff like this right here:

youtube placeholder image

That was none other than Fox News’s resident House Negro and one man minstrel show, Charles Payne.

Transcript:

PAYNE: It is tragic. I don’t think something like this will happen again. Don’t think that the people in Bangladesh who perished didn’t want or need those jobs, as well. I know we like to victimize everyone in this country, particularly when it comes to for-profit motivation, which is being assaulted. But, you know, it is a tragedy but I think it is a stretch, an amazing stretch, to sort of try to pin this on Walmart but, of course, the unions in this country are desperate.

Think Progress rightly notes:

The Bangladeshi factory in question, Tazreen Factories, had no functioning extinguishers, locked the exits, and employed managers who told factory workers to go back to their stations when the fire alarm went off. Since 2006, over 200 people have died in Bangladeshi garment factories as a consequence of the substandard safety precautions prevalent in their factory. Some believe companies like Walmart — whose brands were found in the burnt factory — would move if production at the faculty were more expensive; that is, if things like basic safety precautions were implemented.

During his defense of the factory, Payne referred to himself as “a spokesman for capitalism and the American Dream” and said “for a lot of people, this [Walmart business practice] is a step in the right direction.”

This tragic event happens to remind me of another tragic event like this one that happened in New York back on March 25, 1911. I am referring to, of course, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire.

Some photos:

The building’s east side, with 40 bodies on the sidewalk. Two of the victims were found alive an hour after the photo was taken.

Police placing victims bodies into coffins.

There is a site, by the way, where you can see even more of these types of photos from the fire. It called the “Remember the triangle fire coalition.”  It was this fire, in case some of my Conservative and libertarian friends do not know, that started the wheels turning for an organized labor movement in this Country.

As the site says,

The Fire
The Triangle Waist Company was located one block east of Washington Square Park. There were over 500 employees – most were young women, most were recent immigrants. On March 25, 1911, a fire broke out on the 8th floor. Workers ran to the fire escape. It collapsed, dropping them to their deaths. On the 9th floor a critical exit was locked. People on the street watched as the workers began to jump out the windows. Fire trucks arrived but their ladders only reached the 6th floor. The elevators ran as long as they could as workers pressed into the cars; some tumbled down the elevator shaft.

In the end 146 people died. There was a trial but the owners, long known for their anti-union activities, got off. The fire became a rallying cry for the international labor movement. Many of our fire safety laws were created in response to this tragic event.

Sounds familiar does it not? You see, as an Americanist, I am all for good old fashioned capitalism, which is why I have so many ads on this site. What I am forcefully against, is corny capitalism or capitalism that exploits, represses and hurts others. I have always been against that sort of thing, even when I was on the left. This is why unions came to be folks, because of crony capitalism. I happen to know a great deal about the labor movement; because my Father is a retired General Motors worker, who worked for the Clark Street Assembly Plant in southwest Detroit and later at the Poletown Assembly Plant as well. My Father, who is now retired also is a member of the UAW, Local 22.

Now about that site that I mentioned; I realize that there is some things on that site that might offend some Conservatives, especially the communist section of the archive. However, I believe that this sort of thing is important; there is nothing wrong with workers wanting safe working conditions. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with a worker wanting a decent living wage. I believe that at one point in America, unions served a legitimate purpose, and this was to keep the crony capitalists honest and to force them to take better care of their workers, with better working conditions. However, my biggest gripe with the unions, is that they became greedy themselves, they began to associate with elements of the communist movement, they began to make unreasonable demands — the recent instance with Hostess being a perfect example.

However, as a free-thinking American, I do not believe that the answer is to proverbially, “Toss out the baby with the bath water” as they say; but rather to stop with the labor movements overreach. The labor movement needs to realize that this is not the 1940’s and the 1950’s anymore. The industrial revolution is already passed us by, and there are times when concessions are needed to save jobs. You would think that with a labor movement friendly President like Barack Obama, that American labor killing things, like the so-called “American free trade agreement” would be stricken off the books and large scale tariffs put into place to prevent China and other Countries from stealing our market share. However, not everything is as it seems. Barack Obama is not an “American First” democrat, Obama is an “Internationalist Democrat,” who sees American through the lens of the World and believe it is quite small. This is why the relationship between the President and the labor movement has been frosty at best.

In closing: To my Republican friends and conservative ones too: This is what needs to change. Indifference toward tragic events like this one and making idiotic statements like this too. When conservatives makes statements like this, the rest of America, you know, people like me? We tend to see you as heartless thugs, who care only about making money and not about those who actually help you make that money. It is simply all in messaging. The conservative movement, while not perfect, has some really great ideas; but has always had this message problem and also the Republican establishment problem as well. Those things need to change and messaging needs to be changed too. If we can do that, we can win elections again.
