No, I did not watch the Republican Debate last night

I had good reason not to watch too. From what I was hearing on twitter last night; while I was lying in the bed and drifting off to sleep, is that the debate was lousy. This was confirmed by things that I have read this morning. I guess the usual liberal partisan hacks over at ABC NEWS were living up to their expectations — not to mention the fact that the head of the DNC was at the debate outright lying to the media.

Also, the silly back and forth, not to mention the preening; as to who is the most Republican of them all — I find all that quite the bore. The truth is none of these contenders is of the Reagan stripe of Conservative, most of them, with the exception of Ron Paul; who is too far in the other direction — are just Neo-Conservative war hawks. Now will I vote for one of them? At this point, I really do not honestly know. It depends on which one makes the cut with the GOP nomination.

To be quite honest, the primary process really does not interest me that much. Now the general election is another story; the debates that I very much look forward to are the general election debates, how is Obama going to face someone like Romney? How is Obama going to stand there with a straight face and repeat that silly mantra of Hope and Change?

The truth is the only thing that is changed, is the amount of debt and the rate of unemployment. This is not to even to mention all the bureaucratic Government regulations that was put into place that killed many jobs in the oil drilling business. I just do not see how Obama is going to defend all of that, without sounding like a blithering idiot.

There is supposed to be a debate tonight as well, from what I hear. I will most likely skip it too. Again, I just do not have any interest in the Republican Party fashion shows. I just want to see this failure of a President try to debate and defend his failures in leadership. It is something that I do look forward to very much.

That is about all I can truly say about this little incident. I made a promise that I would keep it out of the gutter on this new blog. I’m gonna try to stick to it.

Only other thing I will truly say is this; if the Democrats actually think this sort of tripe is going to help thier cause; they are very highly mistaken. Insulting the parents of a dead child, yeah you boys keep on plucking that little chicken and see what it gets you.

I’ll keep the rest of my thoughts to myself. šŸ˜” …..least I get accused of being a racist, a Klansman or whatever else those mentally depraved buffoons call people like me. (blanco)

Where are the morals in America?

This below is a perfect example of the fact that morality in America has long since left the building:

At 17 years of age, Dakota Fanning has become the latest cover star of the sex-driven, how-to-please-your-man-in-bed womenā€™s magazine Cosmopolitan.

Fanning, who turns 18 at the end of next month, appears gorgeous and grown up with dark eyes, white blonde hair, and a form-fitting dress on the cover of the magazine’s February issue. But Fanning is still a minor, and some media watchers have pointed out that she looks out of place surrounding captions such as ā€œHis Best Sex Ever,ā€ ā€œToo Naughty To Stay Here: But You Have to Try This Sex Trick,ā€ and ā€œUm, Vagina Are You Okay Down There?ā€

ā€œCosmopolitan is going overboard by putting an underage girl on its cover surrounded by such article titles,ā€ media expert Rachelle Friberg told FOX411ā€™s Pop Tarts column. ā€œIt is one thing to educate young women about sex and their bodies, but putting a young, underage girl on the cover of a magazine that had long been known to push the limits is sending the wrong message.

However, the magazine isnā€™t backing away from its decision.

ā€œWeā€™re thrilled to feature Dakota Fanning on the February cover of Cosmopolitan magazine and she looks stunning. Dakota, who turns 18 this month, is a mature, fearless young woman and we are proud to honor her as our Fun Fearless Female of the year,ā€ a Cosmopolitan rep told us. ā€œWe applaud her unprecedented accomplishments which will continue in 2012 with her four upcoming movie roles.”Ā  — ā€ — Via Is Dakota Fanning Too Young To Be On Cover Of Cosmopolitan? | Fox News

I really do not like to get on this new blog and get all preachy, because this really is not what I would call a “Christian” blog. It is a political commentary blog. I do want to start a “Christian” Blog eventually. However, I will say the following:

A Nation that turns it’s back on the Christian morality of it’s founding, in favor of the liberal/progressive mentality of “If it feels good, do it!” —- begats stuff like the above. 60 years ago in this Country, the above would not be tolerated and that magazine would have been run out of business by outraged Americans. I believe that Christians, of all stripes and divisions can agree, that putting a 17 year old girl on the cover of an qusi-adult magazine, is just downright immoral.

Since when do we have to ask to defend ourselves?

This strikes me as rather odd.

Video 1:

Video 2: (Via HuffPo )

The Story:

(CNN) — Home alone with her 3-month-old son, Sarah Dawn McKinley of Blanchard, Oklahoma, said she decided to make a stand when two men tried to break into her home on New Year’s Eve.

McKinley, who had been widowed less than a week before, placed a couch in front of one door and went to the bedroom and put a bottle in her baby’s mouth before calling 911, she said on HLN’s “Dr. Drew” on Wednesday.

A 911 operator calmly spoke with McKinley, who asked if it was permissible to shoot an intruder, officials said.

“I’ve got two guns in my hand. Is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door?” asked McKinley, 18.

“Well, you have to do whatever you can do to protect yourself,” dispatcher Diane Graham responded. “I can’t tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby.” — Via Oklahoma mom calling 911 asks if shooting an intruder is allowed – CNN.com

My friends, my question to you is simple this; since when, do we as Americans, who are guaranteed the right to own a gun to defend ourselves against such things, as presented in this story — ask for permission to defend ourselves from the Government?Ā  This is not a criticism of this woman at all, but of the mentality of the Government must make all decisions for us.Ā  Whatever happened to telling a 9/11 operator, “I am going to kill this idiot and I hope you got plenty of body bags, because when I get done, y’all going to need a few.ā€Ā  Whatever happened to mentality of doing for yourself, and not waiting the Government to do your work for you?

It is a sad state of affairs in this Country, when its own citizens are too scared to defend themselves and feel the need to have to ask the Government for permission to do so.Ā  This is what happens, when progressives are allowed to govern, control our media and our schools.

No American citizen, at any point, should ever have to ask permission to defend his or her personal property.Ā  This is not a mentality of a free American citizen, this is a mentality of a slave to Government, and it is what the progressives promote — in their media, in the schools — everywhere.

My hat goes off to this young woman, for having the courage to defend herself, when it counted most.

Update: Vote this story up over on Reddit for me please. Thanks!

Update #2: AllahPundit seems to like this story too. But, of course, misses the bigger point.

Ha! Newt says he is “not rich”

Man, this is bad.

AllahPundit calls it “laying it on with a trowel”. I was thinking more of a 12 horse motor pump into a 10 inch hose fitting myself. I’m talking about a cement pump.

What am I talking about?

This:

CONCORD, N.H. ā€” Less than 12 hours after finishing in fourth place in the Iowa caucuses, Newt Gingrich opened a new, more aggressive chapter in his campaign, taking pointed shots at rivals Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, who both finished ahead of Gingrich. At one point, Gingrich hinted he would make Romney’s personal wealth an issue, telling a reporter ā€œI’m not rich.”

Speaking to reporters shortly after arriving in New Hampshire, Gingrich dismissed Romneyā€™s razor-thin victoryā€”the former Massachusetts governor ended the night with 25 percent of the vote and only eight more votes than Rick Santorum. ā€œThe fact is, three out of four Republicans rejected him,ā€ Gingrich said.

When asked why he chose to congratulate Santorum and not Romney on his caucus success, the former House speaker said, ā€œI find it amazing the news media continues to say [Romneyā€™s] the most electable Republican when he canā€™t even break out of his own party.ā€¦ The fact is, Gov. Romney in the end has a very limited appeal in conservative party.ā€

Later, in a campaign stop in Laconia, Gingrichā€™s kept up his attack ā€“ and it got personal. Asked by a local reporter if he would buy a home in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, where Romney has a summer home, Gingrich replied, ā€œNo, I canā€™t afford things like that, Iā€™m not rich.ā€ His wife, Callista, added a jab at Romney as well. ā€œWe have one home,ā€ she demurred. The Romneys own two summer homes, including one in California.

This coming from a dude who made 1.6 million from Freddie Mac . šŸ™„

Over to you AllahPundit:

Surely a man eligible for a six-figure line of credit at Tiffanyā€™s has the means to buy himself a cottage in the sticks. Or maybe more: Iā€™ll bet $1.6 million from Freddie Mac would get you something nice and airy in Hanover. This is the second time that Gingrich has taken a dig at Romneyā€™s wealth, do note, but the first time came with caveats: Romney had already taken a dig at his Freddie earnings in that case, and Gingrich wasnā€™t sniffing then at the fact that Romneyā€™s rich but rather what he did to become that way. Tonightā€™s little aside is more of a pure class pander, which is yet more evidence of just how bitter Newt is about that beating he took on the air in Iowa.

Indeed.

My question is simply this — if Newt is poor, what the heck am I?!? šŸ˜Æ

Oh and also; pandering?!? That doesn’t even begin to describe it. The dude is flinging poo at Romney desperately hoping something — anything will stick.

Thus another reason why I am not very big on Newt. Him, the heir to the Reagan mantle — yeah right! šŸ™„

It’s humor folks, relax

I hate it when I have to remind my own people that sometimes humor, is just that, humor.

Real Clear Politics has a video of Michelle Obama appearing in a TV show called iCarly.

Here’s the quote:

First Lady Michelle Obama is to make a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of the popular Nickelodeon show iCarly.

In the episode, which airs on January 16, the First Lady helps the show’s title character Carly get in touch with her father, an Air Force colonel who can’t make it home for his birthday.

Obama surprises the girl and her friends, which leads to her being called “Your Excellency” by Carly’s friend Sam Puckett.

After being corrected by a friend that you don’t call the First Lady that, Michelle Obama jumps in and says “No, no, I kind of like it.”

As if right on cue, the right-wing blogosphere is condemning this; do some of these people drive? It is humor folks, something that many of us actually could use right now. šŸ™„

I just have to wonder aloud, would they be that shrieking in their criticism of Michelle Obama if she were a white woman? It is to wonder.Ā

No, Pat Robertson did not hear from God

I am fixing to break one of my rules that I wrote on my blog’s “about this blog” page.Ā  I wrote the following:

Also too, with this blog, I am going to stick strictly to Politics. I am not going to meander into Religion or Religious arguments like I did on my previous blog; Because for one, it tends to start fights with unbelievers and two, it tends to make me look like a jerk. My point is this, I know what I believe, but I am not interested in fighting about it or debating it. At some point, I might create a Blog solely dedicated to Christianity; but on this blog, itā€™s about politics and politics only.

For what it is worth I do plan on following that little rule; however, when so-called “Christians” insert themselves into politics, I, as a Fundamentalist Baptist, will have to speak out.

Having said all of the above, I can tell you with the uttermost confidence that God did not speak to Pat Roberson.

Here is the very misguided man attempting to act as someone who has a personal line with the almighty: (H/T Mediaite)

Quote:

I spent the better part of a week in prayer and just saying, ā€˜God show me something,ā€™ some things Iā€™ll share with you. I think he showed me the next me the next president but Iā€™m not supposed to talk about that so Iā€™ll leave you in the darkā€”probably just as wellā€”I think Iā€™ll know who it will be. Iā€™m going to read just as I wrote down as if Iā€™m hearing from the Lord these words.

Your country will be torn apart by internal stress, a house divided cannot stand. Your president holds a radical view of the direction of your country which is at odds with the majority, expect chaos and paralysis. Your president holds a view that is at odds with the majority, itā€™s a radical view of the future of this country, so thatā€™s why weā€™re having this division. This is a spiritual battle which can only be won by overwhelming prayer. The future of the world is at stake because if America falls, thereā€™s no longer a strong champion of freedom and a champion of the oppressed of the world. There must be an urgent call to prayer. The Lord said, a time of maximum stress and peril, greater than at any time since the CBN ministry began. This country will begin disintegrating.

I started thinking, when did we start this place? We started CBN in 1960, you think of all the things that went on, you had the assassination of the president, assassination of Martin Luther King, youā€™ve got a war in Vietnam, youā€™ve got all these things, He is saying you will have worse stress than before. So Iā€™m saying, God, let me give you some suggestions and you tell me if any of them is right, pick one. I said, is it an EMP blast? No that isnā€™t it. Is it a cosmic or solar or radiation blast? No. Is it Mayan galaxy alignment? No. Is it Iranian or North Korean nuclear threat? No. Is it an earthquake or a volcano? No. Is it a massive power failure? No. What is it? Itā€™s an economic collapse. And God said, This is not my judgment, they are bringing it upon themselves.

Pat Robertson is a Pentecostal Christian, he is under the typical delusion that the “signs and wonders” as written about in the Book of Acts chapter 2 are somehow for today. In that false belief system, these people actually believe that God is still speaking to people today. This is patently false; everything that God had to say to mankind is located in the Bible. period, end of story.

Anyone that tries to tell anyone any different is trying to deceive people, which is what this con man is an old professional at being— a con man.

I don’t know what is more disturbing, the fact that they were searching for that on my old blog; or that they actually searched twice and landed at my blog twice! šŸ˜®

Ugh…. Either way… You’re not going to find pictures of that sort around here or anything else related to such matters. šŸ™„

Progressive Blogger Taylor Marsh: “The Party’s Over”

Taylor Marsh is one of the liberal progressive bloggers that I used to read, when I was still rooting for that team. So, needless to say, this was quite a shock to read coming from her.

Some quotes: (h/t Jazz Shaw)

As a recovering partisan these days and after watching Pres. Obamaā€™s compromising conservatism, I no longer feel the urgency to support a political party who has threatened dire consequences if I donā€™t vote for them. Beyond foreign policy, economic, and civil rights issues mentioned above, Pres. Obama has also chosen to short-change women again and again on our freedoms, starting in the health care bill, then by executive order that empowered conservatives of both parties, and finally by making the decision on Plan B that would have come from Mitt Romney, too.

Pres. Obama has helped Democrats deliver a climate that this party has threatened since the ā€™70s would happen if I didnā€™t vote for themā€¦

For over 30 years, modern feminists like myself have been hearing that we must support Democrats, because if we donā€™t our freedoms will be on the line yet again. After supporting Democrats since my one vote for Ronald Reagan in 1980, what has finally happened through Pres. Obama is exactly what I was told this political party would guard against. So now, as the 2012 elections approach, Barack Obama and the Democratic Party are once again relying on the theory that because Republicans are worse women like me can be suckered into falling in line one more time.

(…..)

The two political parties have been under siege for some time, because Americans just donā€™t trust Republicans or Democrats anymore. Barack Obama was the last chance for political parties, specifically the Democratic brand, with George W. Bush having already given rise to rebellion inside the GOP, which is seen best through Ron Paul and the Tea Party. Meanwhile, Congress long ago ceded their importance as an equal branch of government, preferring loyalty oaths to their political party, as well as the boss in the Executive branch, which has become a marketing tool for itself, an American kingship of sorts, with no difference between Republican or Democratic presidents. Once in the White House, the presidents club rules.

So, having finally made it to the recovering partisan shore, though Iā€™m not completely cured, I must say that Pres. Obamaā€™s first term went a long way to liberating me permanently.

In 2012, this liberalā€™s vote is up for grabs.

Oof. That’s harsh. I suggest you go read the whole entire thing too, because not only does Marsh slam Obama; she basically says that Pelosi, the Democratic Party and liberalism as a concept are a joke anymore. This is something that I basically figured out not long before my blog “the populist” was hacked. Which is why I basically switched sides; I’m not a far right winger, but I am sure not a leftist, not what passes for a democrat today.

Make no mistake, Taylor Marsh is not a Republican, not by a longshot. However, she is someone who is not happy with her party. It is a start.
