On the failure of the Republicans replacement for Obamacare

I hate to be the one to say this, but, I absolutely knew that this was going to happen.

This is not to say that this sort of thing doesn’t happen all the time in Washington DC. But, the New York Times acts like it’s something rather new:

WASHINGTON — House Republican leaders, facing a revolt among conservatives and moderates in their ranks, pulled legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act from consideration on the House floor Friday in a major defeat for President Trump on the first legislative showdown of his presidency.

“We’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future,” the House speaker, Paul D. Ryan, conceded.

The failure of the Republicans’ three-month blitz to repeal President Barack Obama’s signature domestic achievement exposed deep divisions in the Republican Party that the election of a Republican president could not mask. It cast a long shadow over the ambitious agenda that Mr. Trump and Republican leaders had promised to enact once their party assumed power at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.

And it was the biggest defeat of Mr. Trump’s young presidency, which has suffered many. His travel ban has been blocked by the courts. Allegations of questionable ties to the Russian government forced out his national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn. Tensions with key allies such as Germany, Britain and Australia are high, and Mr. Trump’s approval ratings are at historic lows.

President Trump basically spells it out right here:

That my friends is how the normal government process works. It was nothing big, it was nothing devastating to the president of the United States or his presidency. It’s simply how government works.

Think maybe somebody could tell that to the liberal media?

Did Obama threaten to shoot down Israeli jets if they attacked Iran?

Update: Roger Simon over at PJ Media says don’t bet the farm on this story; because you might lose your cow. 😉 (Thanks to Felix in the comments section.)

This doesn’t sound right….

Via israelnationalnews.com:

The Bethlehem-based news agency Ma’an has cited a Kuwaiti newspaper report Saturday, that US President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities in 2014 by threatening to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Following Obama’s threat, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was reportedly forced to abort the planned Iran attack.

According to Al-Jarida, the Netanyahu government took the decision to strike Iran some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel’s back.

The report claimed that an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the US administration revealed the attack plan to Secretary of State John Kerry, and that Obama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Al-Jarida quoted “well-placed” sources as saying that Netanyahu, along with Minister of Defense Moshe Yaalon, and then-Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, had decided to carry out airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear program after consultations with top security commanders.

According to the report, “Netanyahu and his commanders agreed after four nights of deliberations to task the Israeli army’s chief of staff, Benny Gantz, to prepare a qualitative operation against Iran’s nuclear program. In addition, Netanyahu and his ministers decided to do whatever they could do to thwart a possible agreement between Iran and the White House because such an agreement is, allegedly, a threat to Israel’s security.”

Sorry, but I don’t buy this one at all. For one, this news service is not really that trustworthy. As they are not above reporting false information to further propaganda. Furthermore, the report is too anonymous. Not only that; if Obama had actually threatened Israel in this manner, do you really think that Bibi would have remained silent about it? I think not. 🙄

I really think that someone somewhere is really itching for a military fight between Israel and the United States; and they are not above planting silly stories like this one here for the sole purpose of stoking anti-Obama rage in Israel. It is a cynical, sick and disgusting thing; and it shows you the state of politics here and in Israel as well.

Uh-oh: Obamacare is in deep, deep trouble

First off, Watch this video:

Now, you see that person that Megan is interviewing? That’s Jonathan Turley. Turley is not a Conservative. He’s a liberal. He’s also a Constitutional scholar; and he is basically saying that Obamacare is in deep trouble. Turley saying this, is like God talking to Moses from the mountain. If I were an elected Democrat; I would be either one of two things; very, very afraid or highly pissed off at Obama — or Both.

Now, go look at this posting by “AllahPundit” over at HotAir.com. AP is a basically a lawyer in New York; and basically, the dude knows his stuff, when it comes to law as well. Now there are some people, that are trying to downplay this; I do not buy that at all. I think Turley knows what he is talking about. I also would tend to trust what Turley is saying over some partisan blogger.

Folks, Between now and 2016 is going to be a very interesting time; and I think there’s going to be some very highly pissed off Democrats and Americans in general. You know, like those who gave up some crappy insurance plans and kicked out the money, getting this new insurance and now, they’re going to lose their subsidies and then, their premiums are going to skyrocket and, basically, they are going to end up with no insurance.

Now, if the Republicans are smart, they will play this for all it is worth; hopefully, they do it the right way. Because if this is going to be as bad as Turley thinks it is; you are going to see one of the biggest defections from the Democratic Party in recent American history. It might actually be 1980 all over again; like after the Carter era. Only this time, with social media, and the 24 hour news cycle; the anger is going to be much, much worse.

Now as for the defections; this does not mean that there are going to be a bunch of new Republicans, not at all. What it does mean is that people in deeply blue states will either not vote or will vote third party. Which will take votes away from the Democrats. If you think that the pain will just be felt at the Presidential level; think again. There will be Senators and Reps who are going to be out of a job. As I said, 2016 is going to be a bloody mess; and it is not going to be on the Republican side. The Democrats basically screwed their constituents and I mean hard; all for the goal of getting a nationalized healthcare system — and now, it is imploding.

Hold on to your hats folks; it is going to be a rough ride from here till 2016.

Kudos: National Journal’s Ron Fournier should get a medal of freedom

For speaking the truth about the Affordable Care Act.

Quote:

It’s getting difficult and slinking toward impossible to defend the Affordable Care Act. The latest blow to Democratic candidates, liberal activists, and naïve columnists like me came Monday from the White House, which announced yet another delay in the Obamacare implementation.

For the second time in a year, certain businesses were given more time before being forced to offer health insurance to most of their full-time workers. Employers with 50 to 99 workers were given until 2016 to comply, two years longer than required by law. During a yearlong grace period, larger companies will be required to insure fewer employees than spelled out in the law.

Not coincidentally, the delays punt implementation beyond congressional elections in November, which raises the first problem with defending Obamacare: The White House has politicized its signature policy.

I give major kudos to anyone, who has the courage to speak their mind, without fear of their peers in the media. I highly suggest that you go read the rest of that.

This posting about Obamacare by a liberal progressive blog is very telling

It is very telling about the mentality of the progressive left towards anyone, who has any sort of money or success.

Quote:

I see the New York Times has published yet another article about very privileged people whining about the ACA.

In this case, said article features a couple making $100,000 a year who, under the ACA, will be paying $1,000 a month for health care covering themselves and their two sons. Take it away, Dean Baker:

Here they are with a front page story telling us about the tragic situation of the Chapmans, a New Hampshire couple making $100,000 a year who will have to spend $1,000 a month for insurance with Obamacare. This would come to 12 percent of their income. The piece tells readers:

“Experts consider health insurance unaffordable once it exceeds 10 percent of annual income.”

That’s interesting. If we go to the Kaiser Family Foundation website we find that the average employee contribution for an employer provided family plan is $4,240. The average employer contribution is $11,240. That gives us a total of $15,470. Most economists would say that we should treat the employers payment as a cost to the worker since in general employers are no more happy to pay money to health insurance companies than to their workers. If they didn’t pay this money as health insurance then they would be paying it to their workers in wages.

A couple of years ago, when my ex-husband and I were paying for health insurance under COBRA, we were shelling out something like $1,200 a month for just the two of us — and we were making far less than 100K a year. In fact, we were earning more like half that.

Enough already. In the real world we live in, $1,000 a month for good health insurance for a family of four in the top quintile of U.S. household income is pretty damn good. Upper middle class people, quitcher whining already — and New York Times, please stop enabling this nonsense.

via The New York Times and the ACA: the yuppie whine-athon continues by Kathleen Geier | Political Animal | The Washington Monthly.

I say it is telling, because it is the flawed mentality of the progressive left. Anyone who does not accept the idea that Obamacare is the perfect solution the problems of our Nation’s healthcare system are derided as whiners. Which is, in my opinion, a bunch of bullcrap.

This healthcare fix, was nothing short of a disaster. But, to this Obama apologist, the “yuppies” or those who actually work for living; ought to just shut and take what they’ve gotten. It is a flawed mentality and it will cost the Democrats votes in 2014 and 2016; I can assure you of that one.

I think it goes without saying; but this Democratic Party of my grandparents, and even of my parents era — is not the Democratic Party of today. Heck, this modern post-2008 Democratic Party is not even the same party that I voted for in 2000 and in 2004. Needless to say, I will not voting for that party any longer. Because the Democratic Party and the progressive movement as a whole, have proven to me, that they really do not give a darn about those of us, who usually want to work and those of us, who would like our own personal freedoms. It is a sad thing to say about a party, that Ronald Reagan once called the honorable party.

Needless to say, that honor left that party long ago.

Crybaby Republicans?

I hate to be a jerk about things… But, the whining and crying of Republican right and the Conservative right is getting to be a bit much.

I mean, could this be the new symbol of the Republican Party?

crybabygop
The New logo of the Republican Party?

I am saying all this, because I read, with some level of amusement about this blogger’soh so horrible heart wrenching tale” of losing his so precious insurance to the horrible marxist negro president! (yes, that is sarcasm….) The video, which is here; is so damned phony and sappy; that it borders parody.

I wrote this before; but it bears repeating:

It just gets old. I mean, Republicans have no right to complain about this Obamacare debacle. It is their fault that we even have this disaster on our hands. If they had actually selected a candidate that could have actually won the Presidency in 2008 and 2012; and not had a Republican who basically was traitor to the party, who voted for the bill —- we would not be in this spot in the first place.

The way I see it; the Republicans ought to just man up, suck it up, pay for the insurance and shut the hell up and next time, not choose someone who cannot win an election.

I hate repeating myself; but using one’s medical problems as some sort of a bumper sticker of just how damned horrible the President’s healthcare law is, just strikes me as freaking lame. I mean, the Republicans and Conservatives said the same thing about John Edwards and his son; so, I think it is high time that Republicans actually started following their own advice.

In other words, send the damned medical bills to John McCain and Mitt Romney; they own a few houses, they can pick up the tab! 😀

Yeah, I know, I know... I am an a-hole. But Jesus… the whining is getting to be a bit of old hat. 🙄

Update: I thought I would add this before the hate brigade comes after me. I have not worked since 2005 for anyone else; other than writing on all the blogs that I have written on, including this one. I have NO medical insurance at all — none, zero, nada. My parents have to foot my medical bills. So, when I hear some conservative griping and whining about losing his insurance, I have to laugh! Try not having any at all, asshole! 😡

Again, just pay your higher premiums and quit your silly belly aching about it! You stupid rich, elitist idiot! 😡

Edited to Add: Those of you calling me a leech. You expose yourselves as the elitist, out of touch, douche-nozzles that you truly  are.  You would rather me not have any sort of treatment for my A.D.H.D. , Diabetes and High Blood Pressure;  you would rather that I just die off and not be a burden on my parents; who by the way, don’t have a problem helping me out. For what it is worth, I will be calling Monday and seeing if I can sign up on Michigan’s expanded Medicare program. Hopefully, I can get on it. So, yeah, no thanks to Bush and Obama’s handling of the economy; I am getting State Government healthcare, that you rich, out of touch elitist neoconservatives will be paying for.  Way I see it: You all should be paying for it, seeing your boy, Dubya screwed our Country into the ground for 8 damned years. Not only that, but the democrats did with Granholm as well. I will take the handout, thank you very much. There are no jobs here, at least not for people like me. So, I will take my dole, I paid into it for many years. So, I take my share, like everyone else. 😡

Update #2: I also should point out the following: I have not had any health insurance since 2000. I had this insurance via the cobra program, which allowed me to keep my insurance from a former employer of mine. It was an employer I worked for in the early 1990’s. I finally had to give it up, because it was just too expensive to own. So, again, all this silly whining is silly, I believe.

Update #3: As much as I am not a fan of this guy here; he does have a point.

Update #4: I have been getting a number of emails from people wondering why I’m attacking Jim Hoft. The simple answer is this here: some of Jim Hoft’s friends have attacked me in the past. And I believe Jim Hoft has posted some items that have smeared me. One of Jim’s friends even went as far as to accuse me of being a racist and an anti-semite. The way I see it turnabout is fair play.

Do not misunderstand me here, I take no pleasure in knowing that Jim Hoft is suffering physically, not at all. But, the way I see it, if the players in the blogosphere want to smear me and call me an anti-Semite and a racist bigot; that I don’t mind pointing out the hypocrisy of the fact that a conservative blogger is whining because his insurance got cancelled.

The truth is that the conservative blogosphere has always hated my guts, because I happen to be at one time a left of center blogger. And because I dared to challenge one of the neoconservative darlings of the right-wing blogosphere. This blogger actually had the temerity to go around posting personal information about a child’s parents all because she didn’t like the idea of a social program that would benefit the children like him. The child I’m referring to is Graeme Frost. because of this blogger’s blatant stupidity in exposing this boy’s parents personal information I posted what I thought was her real address and telephone number. Turns out she had not lived there over 3 years. But, none of that actually mattered what mattered was that I dare to challenge her and as a result I became the most hated man in the blogosphere.

Another reason these people hate me is because one of their darling bloggers decided to make fun of me and when he did, I fired back and I made it personal and in the process I ended up insulting his dead wife. At the time I had no idea that the name that I brought up on my blog was his dead wife and I apologized for it as well many times over. But, they still act like it happened last week when all actuality it happened back in 2007.

The funny and ironic part is, is that two women who worked for David Horowitz, and now work for this woman or at least did till she offloaded her new website; smeared me as an anti-Semite and a bigot. Well the way I see it, these women are really friendly with Jim Hoft and if they don’t mind smearing me and making up lies about me and all this other nonsense, then I don’t mind telling the truth about how I really feel about conservative bloggers who whine about losing their insurance.

The truth is none of these people have actually met me in person at all. But, they will get on blogs and write things about me telling half-truths an outright lies all to try to discredit me and liable me on the Internet. So the way I see it, payback is a bitch and so are the people that smeared me and said things about me that were not true. The point I’m making is this here: the way I see it: you make friends with dogs like that, then you deal with the crap that gets flung at you because you’re friends with them.

The truth is they started the war with me and they slandered me. because I actually had the audacity to fight back, they declared war against me hacked my blog and proceeded to smear me on the Internet. So I think a bit of a slam dunk of one of their friends is justified. If any of them don’t like it — too bad. Quit stabbing people in the back and quit lying about people and maybe stuff like this won’t get written about you. Its just that simple.

Interesting Obamacare story

Yeah, I know, I said I was burning out. But, this one is pretty good.

In the short term, I am the kind of person for whom the Obamacare mandate is a pain in the neck. My husband and I, both writers, have been buying health insurance on the individual market for several years, paying about a thousand dollars a month for a policy that covers us and our two children. We were among those Americans who liked our policy: we had to choose doctors from within a network, but there were plenty to choose from, including the pediatrician we’d gone to since our kids, now teen-agers, were born. We had no deductible and a reasonable cap on out-of-pocket expenses: five thousand dollars a year. We were less happy when, in early October, our insurer, CareFirst Blue Cross, raised our monthly premium by three hundred dollars with no explanation. (The only health expenses we’d incurred in the previous year were for the annual checkups that the schools required for the kids.) This was a big increase for us, especially since our writing income tends to fluctuate from month to month and year to year. Then, like many of the twelve million or so Americans who buy their own insurance, we received a letter from CareFirst in late October saying that our policy would be cancelled, because it didn’t conform to Affordable Care Act requirements. I did what I usually do in these circumstances: I procrastinated.

via My Cancelled Policy, and My Values : The New Yorker.

It’s a good read, go check it out. I will say this, like I wrote in my previous posting: The Democrats wanted this, and they got it; and because of this, I really do not believe that any of the Democrats or anyone who voted for Obama, have a legit reason to complain. They brought the lies of the Obama campaign, and White House. So, they should really just shut up.
