John Dickerson at Slate Magazine on Sanford

Perhaps one of the best things that I have seen yet on Sanford:

Sanford’s fumbling efforts to explain how he’s tried to rescue himself with his faith offered some people an opportunity to make fun of his religion, as if a confused, lost, flawed person were the right spokesman for anything. People tend to think the most awful thing about a person is the most true thing. They also apparently think it’s the most true thing about his or her associations. So an e-mail arrived asking, “[I]s there any Republican not sleeping around?” Maybe Sanford should have been a presidential candidate. He apparently represents an entire party and an entire religion.

What Mark Sanford seemed to be trying to say is that he screwed up, in the biggest possible way, because he lost his bearings. He lost his self-control. He was indulgent. He forgot that there were other humans in the world. Yet in the constant flow of abuse, joke-making, and grand conclusions about his failings, it seemed everyone having a good time pointing at his self-indulgence was also engaging in a form of it.

via The strange, heartless glee at Sanford’s downfall. – By John Dickerson – Slate Magazine.

Quite true. If one wanted to wax philosophical on this whole situation; one could say that those who gleeful about Sanford’s downfall, are actually saying that they are not capability of committing such an offense.  Which we all know is quite untrue. However, it is not to try and say that Sanford’s actions are not above scorn. However, one could establish that the very one’s that are scorning Sanford are violating one of the most simple of Christian principles, and that is forgiveness.

Further more, much of anger by those on the Neo-Conservative right, is simple based upon one thing; Because Sanford embraced the principles of Paleo-Conservatism, most notably; a non-interventionist foreign policy. Personally, my feelings of disappointment are of a selfish nature. I was hoping that Mark Sanford would be able to make a run in 2012. I was hoping to be involved in his campaign. Hence the enormous let down. I suspect that this is why there is such  disappointment among Paleo-Conservatives. Plus, he was seen as someone who would carry on the mantel of Ron Paul.

Again,  it is a huge disappointment and it will be a huge blow to the G.O.P., As there is no clear leader for 2012. Sarah Palin is big Government and a “Do as I say, not as I do”, Republican and Mike Huckabee is not someone I believe needs to be in the White House, as he is too much of a Theocratic Republican and Mitt Romney is a Mormon; who is quite the asshole as well. So, if they pick him for 2012. I’m voting Libertarian again and possibly will leave the Country.

As I’ve said here many times before; it is going to be a LONG four to eight years.

Sanford admits to having an affair

This is terrible…. I will explain after the video and story…

The Video:

The Story:

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, his eyes red, admitted to having an extramarital affair Wednesday with an Argentine woman.

“I’ve been unfaithful to be my wife,” Sanford said at a state capitol news conference.

It began very innocently,” he explained, saying that developed into an adulterous relationship in the past year.

He said he seen his unidentified mistress three times since they began the affair or, as he put it, “since the whole sparking thing.”

Sanford said he was resigning his post as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association.

Taking questions from reporters, Sanford said his wife knew about the relationship before his trip last week and that “they had been working through this thing for about the last five months.”

He shed tears as he explained how helpful one friend had been.

He also choked up when he said: “This has been selfishness on my part.”

Sanford’s admission caps an extraordinary week in which he was revealed to having been in Argentina and not, as his staff said, hiking on the Appalachian trail.

Before disclosing his relationship, Sanford apologized profusely to a number of family and friends.

“I’ve let down a lot of people — that’s the bottom line,” Sanford said.

My Friends, I am not going to try and spin this or lie about it or anything. For the first time in my blogging career; I can honestly say, that I am at a loss for words. The emotions that I am feeling right now are shock, disbelief, anger, slight numbness; all of that. In the back of my mind, I was worried that people like Jack Hunter; who’s also known as “The Southern Avenger“, was putting way too much stock into the guy.  I thought that this was a setup by the Neo-Conservatives and the Liberals to keep him from trying to running for President in 2012. I even was about ready to pen a Editoral blasting those whom I thought were behind the attempt to undercut the man.

Well, all that’s not going to be needed now. Mark Stanford admitted he was in deep trouble.

I am, as they say; devastated.

Update: As always, Memeorandum has the round up.

Update #2: Michelle Malkin does not mence words, She calls Sanford a “Bastard“.  To which I say; Amen.

Update #3: The Anchoress has some choice words for Sanford as well.

Update #4: I’ve seen some Democrats just loving this. Let me say this, at least Mark Sanford wasn’t trying to run for President; while cheating on his wife with cancer; and the last time I checked, Sandford doesn’t have any “Hey, ask me about my dead kid!”, stickers on the back of his car. Unlike a well-known Democrat that we all know.

Oh Lovely: Warren Buffett says U.S. Economy In "Shambles"

But do you think this will change “The One’s” way of doing things? No.

Video:

The Story:

In a live interview on CNBC today, Warren Buffett said there has been little progress over the past few months in the “economic war” being fought by the country. “We haven’t got the economy moving yet.”

While the economy is a “shambles” and likely to stay that way for some time, he remains optimistic there will eventually be a recovery over a period of years.

via Warren Buffett to CNBC: U.S. Economy In “Shambles” .. No Signs of Recovery Yet – Warren Buffett Watch – CNBC.com.

Next time some idiot liberal tells you that Obama is going to “Fix” the economy. Show them this posting. The reality is, that Obama is not fixing anything at all.

Oy!: You'd think they would learn; perhaps not….

Think the Democrats will learn from their prior mistakes, and won’t make them again?

Perhaps not:

(Reuters) – Two U.S. Democratic lawmakers want Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to relax recently tightened standards for mortgages on new condominiums, saying they could threaten the viability of some developments and slow the housing-market recovery, the Wall Street Journal said.

In March, Fannie Mae (FNM.N)(FNM.P) said it would no longer guarantee mortgages on condos in buildings where fewer than 70 percent of the units have been sold, up from 51 percent, the paper said. Freddie Mac (FRE.P)(FRE.N) is due to implement similar policies next month, the paper said.

In a letter to the CEO’s of both companies, Representatives Barney Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and Anthony Weiner warned that a 70 percent sales threshold “may be too onerous” and could lead condo buyers to shun new developments, according to the paper.

The legislators asked the companies to “make appropriate adjustments” to their underwriting standards for condos, the paper added.

In an interview with the paper, Weiner said the rules have “had a real chill on the ability to get these condos sold,” at a time when prices of condos have fallen enough to attract potential buyers.

This is the same sort of stupidity that got us into the mess that we are in now. You would think that the Democrats in question would learn from their prior mistakes. So much for that idea.’

Of course, when you’re dealing with a party, that has been taken over by people, who are essentially Communist-lite in nature. What do you expect?

Sigh: Why do Christians do stupid stuff like this?

The Story:

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WPIX) – A video which shows an exorcism of a teen to drive out apparent “homosexual demons” has sparked outrage among several gay rights activists.

The video, which was posted on YouTube, features church elders from the Manifested Glory Ministries Church in Bridgeport performing the exorcism on the 16-year-old boy.

“Right now I command you to leave!” screamed one of the church leaders involved with the exorcism in the video.

The teenager is seen rolling around on the ground, moaning and screaming – at one point he even vomits.

Although it was never confirmed to be a gay exorcism, repeated references to the subject’s sexual orientation suggests it was.

“Right now in the name of Jesus, I call the homosexuality, right now in the name of Jesus,” a church elder is heard screaming to the teen.

It’s unclear when the 20 minute video was made or if the teen suffered any physically injuries from what appeared to be near seizures.

Meantime, advocacy groups for gay youths are calling the video abuse and want authorities to get involved.

Robin McHaelen, executive director of True Colors said she plans on reporting the incident to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, according to the Associated Press.

The video has since been taken down from YouTube, however the footage is still making its rounds on the internet.

via Apparent Gay Exorcism in Conn. Church Causes Outrage – WPIX.

First of all;  This Church is to blame for the good part of this story. In this day of Anti-Christian sentiment in this Country and rampant Liberalism; you never, ever, post a video of this sort on youtube or on a website.  In only can cause you extreme grief, as you can see here. Second of all, I have reason to believe that this little video was, as are most of the theatrics in “Pentecostal” Churches; most likely faked.

Just as well, I believe that if there is any sort of penalty for this little incident; it is to be known that this Church, because of their foolish actions of putting it on the internet, is to blame. In other words, they should have known better.

Neo-Libertarians now calling Paleo-Libertarians Faux Libertarian Conservatives.

A little bit of a disclaimer here. The link I am pointing to, is NOT the person that wrote this. That is Glenn Reynolds’s Blog. The link that he points to, is the one in question. The reason why I am not directly linking to the Blog, is because I refuse to send that idiot ANY traffic directly at all. Not after the way he spoke to me in an e-mail. He’s a Wilsonian Neo-Libertarian. Just wanted to point that out, before anyone started sending Reynolds any hate mail.

Click and follow the link to read. One word; Unbelievable.

Of course, when you’re a blogger/person that comes down on the side of the Wilsonian’s or as I call them, warmongering Neo-Cons; AKA people that take their talking points from John Podhoretz and William Kristol, what do you expect?

The Reading Room: THE PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE

The word “rapture” does not appear in the Bible, but it is a term used to describe the catching away of the saints of 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. The term “caught up” in 1 Th. 4:17 is also translated “pluck” (Jn. 10:28), “take by force” (Acts 23:10), and “pulling [out of the fire]” (Jude 23). It refers to a forceful seizing and a snatching away. It is used of the Spirit of God snatching away Philip after the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:39). This is exactly what Christ will do to the New Testament believers before the onslaught of the Great Tribulation.

Notes on 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18:

1. The Rapture is (1) a resurrection of the dead in Christ (v. 14-16), (2) a catching up and translation of the living New Testament saints (v. 17).
2. The dead in Christ are with Him in heaven (v. 14).
3. The Rapture is the believer’s hope (v. 13). It is what we are looking forward to.
4. The Rapture is certain. (a) It is as sure as Christ’s resurrection (v. 14). (b) It is the word of the Lord (v. 15).
5. The Rapture is a comfort (v. 18). If this translation did not occur until the end of the torments of the Great Tribulation, it certainly would not produce solace for the Christian standing on this side of the Tribulation.
6. The Rapture is before the day of the Lord’s wrath (5:1-5, 9).

This event is also described in 1 Corinthians 15:51-58.

Looks like the love affair between MSNBC and the left is over….

Guess where this quote comes from:

While the world was watching the conflict in Iran, MSNBC was showing you cop video and convicts. When they did bother to take a stab at it, they offered the usual political hacks arguing and vomiting talking points.

OK, they bill themselves as “The Place for Politics.” They never said they were a source of news. But they disgraced themselves this weekend by ignoring the biggest story in the world.

And when I turned them on this morning, I compared the beet-faced Joe Scarborough and his meanness to the voice of a nineteen year-old Iranian woman live on CNN who had been beaten and was in the middle of a war.

All of a sudden MSNBC fell off the map. Even Fox was better. Even Fox.

Guess. Can you Guess? Try The Huffington Post.

When you lose someone from The Huffington Post; you’ve lost America.  This person and others that are beginning to feel this way, are feeling the same way I; and everyone else on the right are feeling. It’s the feeling that MSNBC is not interested in facts or journalism, but rather to spread Obama’s message. That MSNBC is in the tank for the Obama Administration.

Looks like Bill O’Reilly has been vindicated, he was right all along. MSNBC and General Electric have an agenda. They’re looking for contracts with the Government and they are using MSNBC is thier tool. In the end, it will cost them; very dearly. You cannot scowl at your viewers, call them racists and hillbillies and expect to keep a viewership long.  Further more, you cannot yowl talking points over and over and over, and lie to the American people; it does catch up, after a while.

Is America turning Japanese?
