Here’s the latest on this story….

A number of House members were mailed a letter and photo of a Times Square recruiting station in Manhattan before it was bombed on Thursday morning, according to House insiders and law-enforcement officials.

Initial information from Capitol Hill sources suggested the letters were sent only to eight House Democrats from the New York City area, but a senior House aide said many more members than that total could have received the missives. One source described the letter as a "20-page rambling rant," and the AP reported the envelopes included a "holiday greeting card" with the message "Happy New Year, We Did It" on the cards.

The AP also reported there was "a photo of a man standing in front of the recruiting station before it was bombed" in the envelopes.

The letter did not contain any specific threats against the lawmakers or the site, according to law-enforcement officials, but the U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI are now investigating the matter.

You know I was a bit light hearted about this last night. Mainly because I was quite tired from staying up so late.

However, let me state, I do not condone such acts at all. Whether the Left wants to admit this or not. This was an act of terrorism. There were letters mailed.  This was also an act of malicious vandalism.

Anyone who would do such a thing to a building used by the United States Government, is quite frankly, a disgrace to this Nation and this cowardly act, should be considered an act of treason.

I only wish for swift and harsh punishment for the person who perpetrated this crime.

Bombing Attempt at a Military recruitment center in New York.

The only reason I’m most likely the first Blogger writing about this, is because I just happen to be up this early, or up this late! SleepyYawn

CNN is calling it a "bang"

MSNBC is calling it a "small explosion"

It happened at a Military Recruitment Center, go figure. Rolling Eyes

I can hear the Right Wingers HOWLING now. Angry"Them liberals are pure evil!"

There are unconfirmed reports that George W. Bush was spotting happy dancing in his underwear. SurpriseWinkingBig GrinTongue

Something tells me, this is going to be the biggest story on the right wing and maybe no so right wing, Blogosphere by later today.

For now, I’m going to bed, Night Ya’ll! Don’t let nothing exciting happen, till I wake up! Sleepy

Bush endorses John McCain

On one hand this endorsement will be a good thing, amongst hardcore Republicans. However, amongst the Independent voters and those who are not pleased with the Bush Administration, this is basically a death sentence.

The Story: Bush endorses John McCain for president (via MSNBC.COM)

President Bush endorsed Republican nominee-in-waiting John McCain on Wednesday, two bitter rivals from the 2000 presidential race joining together now in hopes of preventing Democrats from winning the White House this fall.

"John showed incredible courage, strength of character and perseverance in order to get to this moment and that’s exactly what we need in a president — somebody who can handle the tough decisions, somebody who won’t flinch in the face of danger," Bush said, appearing with McCain in the Rose Garden.

The Video:

Again, while this may seem to be a great thing for John McCain and his campaign. To the Democrats, this is just fresh bait. For John McCain to say, "Yeah, I’ll let George W. Bush campaign for me!" is a death sentence amongst the Independent voters.

Because quite frankly, the President has like a 19% approval rating. You think Bush will be a helpmate to his Campaign? I highly doubt it. More like a paperweight!

I look for him to lose and lose hard, sorry to say it, But if the majority of America sees him as an extension of the current President, he doesn’t stand a chance in the general election.

The snort worth comment was the "I will tell him to be careful in who he has choose his running mate". A very funny reference to Dick Cheney. Bush’s dancing before the conference was quite funny too.

Before anyone calls me an Anti-Republican, please, hold your fire, I’m just a realist. I also have issues with the Democrats as well, especially Hillary.

Radio News Anchor quits job after News Director pulls her story.

Via f-brilliant:

KKOB Radio afternoon drive time news anchor Laura MacCallum quit her job last Thursday after the station’s news director pulled her stories about alleged vote-buying efforts at the recent Bernalillo County Republican Party delegate nominating conventions.

MacCallum, a 32-year radio and TV news veteran who has worked in Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles, said the station caved to complaints from Congresswoman Heather Wilson’s Senate campaign about the stories. Wilson campaign spokeswoman Whitney Cheshire called the station to argue the unfairness of stories alleging that many delegates to the ward conventions were paid by Wilson’s and other campaigns to show up and cast their votes for certain delegates. – Read the Rest

Hmmmmm… Interesting story. Thinking

Should be interesting to see how this one plays out.

The Great Puppy Caper

It’s a pretty rough video to watch, I’m told, I haven’t seen it. I’m referring to the video, that everyone is talking about.

The consensus is, that it is faked.

But that doesn’t stop the anger of those on the more progressive side, I’m listening to MSNBC and they did a story on it, and they said that the possible suspects have gotten death threats, had their addresses and telephone numbers blasted all over the Internet.  That the guys had to disconnected their telephone numbers.

According to MSNBC, the military is investigating.

I urge calm amongst everyone, let the military investigators do their job.

The Story: Stumping for Clinton, Steinem Says McCain’s P.O.W. Cred Is Overrated (Via The New York Observer)

Feminist icon Gloria Steinem took to the stump on Hillary Clinton’s behalf here last night and quickly proved that she has lost none of her taste for provocation.

From the stage, the 73-year-old seemed to denigrate the importance of John McCain’s time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. In an interview with the Observer afterward, she suggested that Barack Obama benefits—and Clinton suffers—because Americans view racism more seriously than sexism.

Steinem also told the crowd that one reason to back Clinton was because “she actually enjoys conflict.”

My gawd, this woman was uglier than crap back in the day and she’s STILL uglier than sin. Sick

I’m not much one in to wishing death on people, but when this feckless broad goes tits up, I won’t shed a damn tear, at all.

And, how exactly has this broad really served her country? Besides by promoting Lesbianism and all other sort of Liberal ire?

Obama Stiffs the Press

There’s an interesting piece in the Politico about Obama Stiffing the Press.

I’m divided on this one.

On one hand, I think it’s not right that the press be limited in their access to a candidate.

On the other hand, I know that the press can be ruthless in the coverage and in their quest to get a story. Here’s a classic example. The woman did wrong, but the local press was ruthless to this woman, until she killed herself. The really cruel part is, the offending station that hounded her, mentioned her death in a very cold, passing way. I used to really respect that station, in the days when Jac Le Goff and Bill Bonds were the rulers there. Now it’s little more than a idiot station, with idiots behind the desks.

So, in a way, I can fully understand Obama’s desire to keep the media at bay. It could be, however, the secret service’s doing as well. After all, Obama did get some threats a while back, it could be that seeing he’s getting so popular, it could be that they’re afraid of people getting mixed up with the media and possibly trying to take a shot at him or something.

So, while I think it might upset the media, for their access being limited, I’m sure it’s being done for a very good reason, and not just because Obama doesn’t like them.
