Let Huckabee and the evangelicals walk

I saw this at HotAir.com yesterday, and I thought I would write a little something about it.

Quoting Mike Huckabee in the Christian Post:

“If we have subjective standards, that means that we’re willing to move our standards based on the prevailing whims of culture,” he said. “I think politicians have an obligation to be thermostats, not just thermometers. They’re not simply to reflect the temperature of the room, or the culture, as it were. They’re to set the standards for law, for what’s right, for what’s wrong, understanding that not everybody’s going to agree with it, not everybody’s going to accept it.”

You see, this is where I have always had my conflicts with the religious right. The idea that some religious group of some sort controlling the Republican Party burns my boots. I believe that no particular religious group should have no control of any of the two major political parties. Either respect them all, or respect none of them.

This is also where my Christian beliefs and Political positions differ. I happen to believe that America is not a “Christian Nation” Per se. What I am saying is this: Many on the Christian Right, happen to believe that America is a Christian Republic. This is not so. We are a Constitutional Republic, or at least we were founded as one. The United States of America was created as a Nation that respects ALL religions, races, colors and creeds. We have not always lived up to that standard in the past, but we are doing that now, very well.

I will say this — We are supposed to be a Nation that respects all Religions equally, but anyone with half a brain will tell you that America does show deference to a protected minority of a Religion, and I am referring to those who brought The Lord Jesus Christ to a rigged trial, had him crucified and then lied and said that his disciples stole his body. (and no, folks, I am not talking about the Romans either…) The real funny thing is, the supposed descendants of those very people are the ones who run this Country and the Republican party. Funny how all that works.

As for Huckabee, I believe that if he and his Evangelical friends do not believe that the Republican Party suits their agenda, then they should walk. I believe the worst mistake that ever happened in the Republican Party, was that Ronald Reagan and the GOP gave the Christians a place at the table. Because I simply believe that Religion and Politics should never be intertwined. When they do become intertwined, you get things like Sharia Law. Which is a fascist form of Government. I believe, if anything at all, Mike Huckabee and his evangelical friends should be, as the Bible calls it, “about their Father’s business” and not meddling the affairs of this fallen world’s Government.

Furthermore, I believe that when it comes to homosexuality, Huckabee is nothing more than a two-bit coward. Huckabee fails to call homosexuality what it truly is, and that is the sodomite lifestyle. The Bible in the Old and New Testaments forbids it. Mike Huckabee could have taken a stand for the Word of God and for Christian morality, instead, he offered a dishrag of a defense, which made him look like a bigger idiot than normal. To be clear, The Word of God, that being the King James Bible (*); offers the following on the subject of homosexuality:

Old Testament:

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (Leviticus 18:22 KJV)

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13 KJV)

New Testament:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV)

In a modern version, namely the Amplified Bible:

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

10 Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

The people who were responsible for the Amplified Bible were under no illusion as what “Effeminate” meant to them. I am a King James Bible type of Christian, but I commend the makers of the Amplified Bible for pulling no punches on that scripture.

I only wish that people like Mike Huckabee were that bold, when it comes to issues of morality; as they are, about wanting to meddle in the affairs of the Government.  Again, this goes back to being about “The Father’s Business.” In this department, Mike Huckabee and the Evangelical Christian World as a whole, is failing badly and America is now reaping the harvest of bad seed, sown many, many years ago.

On the resignation of the Roman Catholic Church Leader Joseph Ratzinger

My Mother and Father always taught me never to say anything bad about other people’s religion. So, I will forgo the wish to waylay the Roman Catholic Church. However, because I am Baptist, and very much a Fundamentalist Christian —– I steadfastly refuse to call that man Pope, father, or anything else like that. Having said that, I was stunned to see this news this morning. Here is the official word from the guy:

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the barque of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. I realize to many this man is like the leader of the papal Church and because of that, I can understand why many people were shocked to see that he resigned. First time it has happened, was 600 years ago in 1415; so I can see why this would be a great shock to many.

So, to you, Joe, I wish you the best in retirement; I can only imagine how rough of a job that can be. I mean, being the leader of that big of a cult Religion, must be terrible rough on a guy.

Taking Religion out of the Military?

I have mixed feelings about this one:

“Soldiers with minority religious beliefs and atheists often feel like second-class citizens when Christianity is seemingly officially endorsed by their own base,” American Atheists president David Silverman told Fox News. “We are very happy the Pentagon and the Army decided to do the right thing.” A military spokesman told Fox News the cross was literally dismantled and will be removed from the base to be in “compliance with Army regulations and to avoid any misconception of religious favoritism or disrespect.” “After a Christian prayer, the cross was removed from the roof of the chapel,” the spokesman said. “During the removal, the cross was dismantled; however the cross was reassembled and currently awaits transportation to a larger operational base.” The military told Fox News the cross will only be brought out during Christian services and will be designated as a “non-permanent religious symbol.” Silverman said a Christian chapel on an Army base in Afghanistan could have put American troops in danger. “It inflames this Muslim versus Christian mentality,” he said. “This is not a Muslim versus Christian war — but if the Army base has a large chapel on it that has been converted to Christian-only, it sends a message that could be interpreted as hostile to Islam.” An Army spokesman said all chapels must be religiously neutral. “The primary purpose of making a chapel a neutral, multi-use facility is to accommodate the free exercise of religion for all faith groups using it,” he said. “We take the spiritual fitness of our Soldiers seriously and encourage them to practice their faith and exercise their beliefs however they choose.” Retired Lt. Gen. On one hand, I would hate to think that having Christian symbols on a battle front could be putting our Military at risk. On the other hand, I would hate to see Christianity being removed from the Military entirely. However, we are in a Muslim Nation is Afghan region; one would think that the Military would want to be respectful of those people and their culture.

It is a mixed bag, and all the more reason why we really need to get out of that Country. Our mission is done there; we killed Osama and we need to leave. We do not want to make the same mistake the Russians made there. Besides all that, Al-Qaeda has moved into other regions and is much more a threat to other interests in other parts for the world now.

So, to this Independent, the quicker we leave, the better.

One of my biggest beefs with the Christian world is that they seem to be “hell-bent,” So to speak —- on shoving THEIR version of Christianity down my throat. I have my personal and very private beliefs thank you and I ask you nicely — don’t tread on me and my private convictions.

Burt Prelutsky said what?!?!

Here I go, agreeing with Ed Brayton, who by the way, got his chest ripped open to find out what the heck was wrong with his heart. Which made me think, “Wait, he has a heart?!?! Surprise“ (I kid, of course… WinkingBatting EyelashesTongue)

Writing over at the neoconservative WorldNetDaily, Burt Prelutsky writes the following:

That has changed, as you may have noticed. And I lay a great deal of the blame at the feet of my fellow Jews. When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists and the largely Jewish funded ACLU at the forefront. Ed Brayton correctly notes:

That could have come straight out of the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, or out of Mein Kampf, which blamed the Jews for everything imaginable that was bad in society. It’s all part of a conspiracy to force us to use dreidels, or something.

I have to agree with that, it is quite interesting that this guy can say this sort of a thing. But, yet, you let someone like me point out the fact that people like Bill Kristol and the rest the neocon clan want unilateral war with Iran, and how the neocons ruined the once great Republican Party —- and I am called a bigot, an anti-Semite and all other sort of nonsense. It is a double standard and it sucks.

But that is what happens when a political party panders to a politically privileged ethnic group. The funny thing is that the Republican Party is going to do it again, with people who are supposed to be known as illegal aliens or border invaders. Funny how all that works.

I respect David Brody, Pat Robertson and CBN, but this is just morbid

How morbid can you be, David?

Guess what folks? Huckabee and Fischer are not alone. There are millions of evangelicals who believe the same thing. This is not heartless. It’s based on the biblical principle of reaping and sowing. Not that these little children sowed anything but are our schools left unprotected because of the past actions of our nation when it comes to removing God from our public schools?

The conversation is now all about banning guns but should the conversation really be about allowing God back into public schools?

Food for thought. It’s a discussion worth having.

They did nothing to deserve what happened to them. Pat Robertson and David Brody ought to be ashamed.

The only thing worse than using tragic events like the one in Newtown CT for political purposes and that is using it to push a religious agenda. The reason I feel this way, is for a good number of reasons:

  • For one, it cheapens the Gospel of Christ. — It reduces the Gospel of Christ to a level of ridicule that should never be brought against the Christian World. It also turns the name of Jesus into a money-making machine. Pat Roberson and David Brody are a part of a ministry that makes tons of cash and now that tragic event in Newtown is a part of that money machine. 
  • Secondly, It cheapens the lives lost in this tragic event and the event itself.  — Every life is precious in the eyes of the Lord, even the little ones and to bring your brand of religion into this; is just morbid. 

I think Christians of all stripes really need to reconsider this whole idea that somehow or another Christians need to use tragic events like this to promote their particular brand of Christianity. As a Christian of 30 years — although, I do not always act like it, but I digress — it saddens me to know that there are Christians who actually believe that tragic events like this are good for use as an evangelistic tool and for proselytizing the victims and their families.

Think of it like this: if a Muslim group began to say that the shooting in Newtown, CT was the result of American rejecting Allah and Islam, the Christian right and most of America would be screaming from the rooftops about it. But because it is a Christian saying it, it is okay? Not hardly. 

If I were the families of these victims, I would come together as a group and file a lawsuit against the Christian Broadcasting Network and Pat Roberson personally for defaming the families and victims of this horrible tragedy. What has basically happened here, is that every last one of the so-called Evangelical Christian leaders, that has weighed in on this and made these sort of statements has slandered every last one of these families and have inferred that somehow that they are godless heathens and somehow deserved this fate.

As I have written on this blog many times. There is a rottenness in this Country which is exists on the Christian Right and this is a glaring example of it. There is a time and a place for sharing the gospel of Christ; anyone who happens to think that this is one of them, does not worship the same God and Jesus as I do. There is something called about Godly wisdom, and I am afraid that it is sorely lacking in these circles.

Special Comment: Why I am not removing my ads for Guns, Ammo, Gold or Knives

Update – March 17, 2013: I felt the need to update this, because I noticed someone looked for it or something. Gun, Knife, and Ammo ads are great; but when they are not paying. They are, in fact, a good waste of time and space. I did have, at the point of being annoying, a ton of gun, gold and ammo ads on here at one time. I still have an ammo ad. But the gold ads and the ads for the gun store, were not paying. My ad for goldsilver.com paid me one time. After that, I never did get anymore buys on that ad. So, I pulled everything for a time. I put the ammo ad back up, because I figured someone would buy something, maybe. To be quite honest, it never has paid anything at all. So, again, what I wrote below was written right after Sandy Hook and I still agree with it; but I did remove those ads, because of a lack of revenue.

This is one of those special comments, which I really did not ever think that I would actually have to write. However, seeing that common sense is a scarce commodity today, I feel the need to inform those who come here.

The shooting in Newtown CT happened; and I told the Republican Party and the Conservative movement, “When you all come back to reality, call me!”

Well, one would expect that I would shed my right-wing nut job image, and remove the ads for guns, knives, gold and silver; and become some sort of Prius driving, latte sipping, wire-rim glasses liberal Democrat who curses all forms of capitalism and bemoans the virtues of communism and the fact that America has not implemented them.

One would also expect that I would put ads for green energy, global trade and other such tripe that the Liberal left makes to be their pet cause.

One would be in grave disappointment, but that said person has not a damned clue what I am truly about. The truth is folks, I am somewhere in a very happy place, between a moderate Conservative and a blue-dog Democrat. I remember the old Democratic Party that I admire to this day, under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This was when the Democratic Party was honestly worth a damn in my book.

It was that Democratic Party of old, which took the United States of America to war in 1941, after the empire of Japan, struck us at Pearl Harbor. In addition, the Democratic Party of 1945 was victorious in Germany with the defeat of the Nazis, and with the empire of Japan. America was a great Nation then. We build everything here, men were men, and boys were boys — women did not rule their men. People went to Church on Sunday and respected the Word of God. It was a different era and one that I greatly miss.

The reason why I am not removing those ads is quite simply this: Those ads of mine have not a damned thing to do with that shooting up in Newtown, CT. The only persons that have anything remotely to do with those shooting, is the shooter himself and the shooter’s mother, who had zero business having any sort of firepower near her mentally ill son.

I hate to disappoint my liberal friends, who do read here, but I am an unrepentant capitalist, and I shall be until the day that I take my last breath. Blaming me or anyone else who has gun ads on their blog is a simple-minded exercise in idiocy. Furthermore, blaming people like NRA and other gun advocacy groups is also idiotic at best.

Blaming groups like that, would be blaming food manufactures and farmers for obesity! Do the farmers put the food in your mouth? Do the food makers put the food in your mouth? No! You do, it is called personal responsibility! How idiotic is it for someone to blame a gun, which is quite honestly a tool of self-defense; for the actions of a mentally deranged person, whose Mother was too irresponsible to put away her guns and keep them away from her son. Anyone with any sort of semblance of common sense would know this. My question is, what is the modern-day liberal Democrat’s problem them?

This is my entire problem with the Democratic Party of today. They steadfastly refuse to embrace the idea of personal responsibility. They want to blame everyone and everything else, but the people who commit crimes; tot to mention that they want to involve everyone else to raise their idiotic bratty children! It does not take village people it takes responsible parents. This is also something that is also lacking today as well, not only in the Democratic Party and in its base — But also in America in general.

To be fair the Republicans are not much better, they are sitting around idly and allowing America to drive over a fiscal cliff, something that America was honestly talking about, before this deranged nut-ball killed these people. Not to mention that John Boehner is selling Conservative fiscal values up the river. They do not mind selling organized labor up the river, but they will allow America to be in debt to China for the rest of eternity. Funny how those politicos work, is it not?

In closing: I am not removing my ads for guns and removing the chance that I might just make a bit of money on my blog. All so some tree-hugging far leftist can feel about the fact that I am contributing to the death of someone, because some deranged idiot happened to have bought a gun from the dealers, of which I have an affiliation.

Furthermore, I am not removing my ads for Gold and Silver, and other such metals, so that some idiotic far leftist liberal happens to be under the delusion that President Obama’s and the current Republican leadership’s form of economics is perfectly fine can feel good about himself.

I might not be very happy with the current state of the Conservative movement as a whole, and I might not be happen with the current Governor of Michigan, and I might not be too pleased with the Republican Party of Michigan and the national party —- but I am not a fool — not now, not ever. Just because I question actions, does not mean I have lost my mind — unlike the Democratic Party since about the time of President Johnson.

Michelle Bachmann is keeping a low profile

WASHINGTON — Rep. Michele Bachmann has built her political career by being outspoken. It has helped her raise tens of millions of dollars and go from obscure back bencher to presidential candidate in three terms.

In the six weeks since the election, Congress has been wrapped up with the series of automatic spending cuts and tax hikes known as the fiscal cliff, Bachmann has gone almost completely silent.

She squeaked back into office last month with a margin of 1 percent in Minnesota’s most Republican congressional district, and ever since has not been on Fox News or the Sunday talk shows.

Bachmann gave one interview recently to “Understanding the Times,” a Maple Grove, Minn.-based Christian radio show that specializes in biblical end of the world prophecies. On the show, Bachmann claimed a cabal of Muslim countries was working with the Obama administration to squash free speech rights around the world.

Bachmann has limited her comments on the fiscal cliff to a few tweets and a handful of postings on her Facebook page.

The woman is a conspiracy theory kook. So much of one, that Michelle Malkin, of all people — had to call her out on her screwball stupidity on the Gardasil nonsense. The woman straight up LIED in the debate about some woman coming up to her and being in tears about telling her about her daughter supposedly being turned into a mental retard because of it or something. Which is something that Republicans are very good at today; lying.  The problem is, it never happened, at all. The video footage was reviewed and she lied about it.

Which is the crux of why I cannot stand people like her: Christians, who believe that lying for a good cause is just perfectly fine. Which is so typical of the squishy evangelical Christian world. “We believe in Jesus, but we think it’s okay to lie and drink a little wine, listen to Elvis and wear our skirts above the knee, even though we are married. Did I also mention that we can pray the faggot away too?” In other words: Pat Boone in a skirt.

Let’s not even get into the stupidity that she pulled recently with Hillary’s personal assistant. That little stunt was so bad that even the Republican leadership told the stupid woman to shut her pie hole or else. Yes, she was that bad and yes, that damned dumb.

So, as far as this independent political blogger is concerned, the longer this space case of a femi-nazi twit stays on the down low, the better. I surly will not shed a tear about it and I highly doubt the Republican leadership will either.

Bryan Fischer gives a full-on demonstration as to why I turned on the right

This guy is one of the worst. I have some thoughts here, but first the story:

Bryan Fischer spent the first hour of his radio program today discussing this morning’s truly horrific shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut, which he, of course, blamed on the fact that prayer, the Bible, and the Ten Commandments are not taught in public schools.

Fischer said that God could have protected the victims of this massacre, but didn’t because “God is not going to go where he is not wanted” and so if school administrators really want to protect students, they will start every school day with prayer

When I was still defending the right, people like Ed Brayton did like to lump me in with this Bryan Fischer guy. To be honest, I have only listened to maybe one of his shows and I got about 5 minutes into it; and I shut it off and closed the browser in disgust. The truth is Bryan Fischer is an extremist in the world of the christian right. I was, and still am not, nowhere near the political stance of this guy at all.

Because of people like Bryan Fischer and Mike Huckabee; and because of the blatant hypocrisy, which happens on the local level too —- trust me, I know —-  is why the Churches of today are getting smaller and smaller. Basically, people are getting tired of stuff like this here and are leaving the Churches in droves.

…and the christian world has no one to blame, but themselves.

I wrote this a long while back:

Because you see, this right here is one of the biggest reasons, in litany of other reasons; why I left the Evangelical, Pentecostal Christian circles and went back to the Independent, Fundamental, KJV Baptist Circles. It was the, “We’re Christians and we love Jesus; but don’t ask us to dress like it, talk like it or not drink bear and not wear mini-skirts!” thing that really put me off. In fact, I went to a Church just like that and it got the point where I just did not even want to go there, because of the lack of a dress code. Some men might actually like that kind of thing; but when you are trying to serve the Lord and keep your mind pure and your Heart right, when you are single man, and you have to look at that sort of thing —- it wears on you greatly.  I can honestly tell you that my three years that I attended that Church which I linked to, was one of roughest periods in my walk with the Lord. Needless to say, I am glad I left there for good finally in 2004. (and I am sure they were glad to be rid of me; but considering what their former Pastor was revealed to have done with someoneother than his wife —- They really do not have a thing to say to me!)

To be fair to the one’s who I did level some criticism at; the Baptist circles are not much better. When I left the tongues crowd in favor of Baptist Christianity; I landed at this Churchhere. I went there back before they changed their name — twice. I left once to check out other Churches in the area and ended up coming back there in 2006 and then leaving again. All I will say about that Pastor is that I take Matthew Chapter 18:15-17 literally — and this Pastor, did not. Sorry, but calling me on a cellphone is not a way I consider to be a proper way to level accusations against me. Especially after I have spent over five weekshelping remodel your little Church office that you just had to have — for free!  Not to mention the fact that not a darned word of the idiotic accusations against me were even remotely true. In case you are wondering, that hick of a Pastor considered me looking this up here to be and I quote, “getting on the internet and looking up private information about HIS Church.” His words, not mine. Needless to say, I left and never went back again; nor will I ever.  Will I ever go anywhere ever again; I highly doubt it. I just do not need the headaches anymore. I will just stay home, read my Bible and wait for the Lord to come back and sort all this mess out.

Before anyone says it in the comments; I know there is no such thing as a perfect Christian. I know this all too well. But, I think some so-called Christians could really try, just a little bit harder. Especially, when they are in the public eye and they are supposed to be representing a Conservative viewpoint and in this young lady’s case; the body of Christ.

One thing I will give to the Jewish people and to the Muslim people; at least they are sincere about what they believe and actually act like it. More than I can say for the people who claim to be the blood-washed believers in Christ Jesus.

Not saying that Christians should be perfect; just that some should try just a little bit harder. Which is why I just say home and stay away from Churches anymore.

Poll: Should I continue to post videos from CBNNews.com?

I would like to know my readers opinion on this subject. I originally started posting those videos, because I thought the content was great and had a pro-Israel and pro-Christian stance to them.

However, since the romance between me and right are over. I really do not feel comfortable posting them, as I feel some might get the wrong idea about me and this blog.

Also too, comments are welcomed. I really want to know my readers feelings on this.
